1 Crónicas 20
1 Y aconteció a la vuelta del año, en el tiempo que suelen los reyes salir a la guerra, que Joab sacó las fuerzas del ejército, y destruyó la tierra de los hijos de Ammón, y vino y cercó a Rabba. Y David estaba en Jerusalem: y Joab hirió a Rabba, y destruyóla.
And it came to pass, that after the year had ended, at the time that kings go out to battle, Joab led forth the power of the army, and wasted the country of the children of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried at Jerusalem. And Joab smote Rabbah, and destroyed it.
2 Y David tomó la corona de su rey de encima de su cabeza, y hallóla de peso de un talento de oro, y había en ella piedras preciosas, y fue puesta sobre la cabeza de David. Y además de esto sacó de la ciudad un muy gran despojo.
And David took the crown of their king from his head, and found it to weigh a talent of gold, and there were precious stones in it; and it was set upon David’s head: and he brought also a great quantity of spoil out of the city.
3 Y sacó al pueblo, que estaba en ella, y aserrólos con sierras, y con trillos de hierro, y segures. Lo mismo hizo David a todas las ciudades de los hijos de Ammón: y David con todo el pueblo se volvió a Jerusalem.
And he brought out the people that were in it, and cut them with saws, and with instruments of iron, and with axes. Even so David dealt with all the cities of the children of Ammon. And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.
4 Después de esto aconteció que se levantó guerra en Gazer con los Filisteos; e hirió Sobocai Husatita a Safai de los hijos de los gigantes, y fueron humillados.
And it came to pass after this, that there arose war at Gezer with the Philistines; at which time Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Sippai, that was of the children of the giant: and they were subdued.
5 Y volvió a levantarse guerra con los Filisteos, e hirió Elcanán, hijo de Jair, a Lahmi hermano de Goliat Jetteo, cuya asta de lanza era como un enjullo de tejedores.
And there was war again with the Philistines; and Elhanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, whose spear’s shaft was like a weaver’s beam.
6 Y volvió a haber guerra en Get, y hubo allí un varón de medida, el cual tenía seis dedos en cada pie, y seis dedos en cada mano, veinte y cuatro; y también era hijo de Rafa.
And yet again there was war at Gath, where was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes were four and twenty, six on each hand, and six on each foot: and he also was the son of the giant.
7 Este desafió a Israel, y Jonatán, hijo de Samaa, hermano de David, le hirió.
But when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea David’s brother slew him.
8 Estos fueron hijos de Rafa en Get, los cuales cayeron por la mano de David, y de sus siervos.
These were born to the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
