San Lucas 19
1 Cuando [Jesús] entró en Jericó, iba por la ciudad.
He entered and was passing through Jericho.
2 Ocurrió que un hombre llamado Zaqueo, quien era rico y jefe de publicanos,
There was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.
3 procuraba ver quién era Jesús, pero no podía a causa de la multitud porque era pequeño de estatura.
He was trying to see who Yeshua was, and couldn’t because of the crowd, because he was short.
4 Entonces corrió adelante y trepó a un sicómoro para verlo, pues iba a pasar por allí.
He ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was going to pass that way.
5 Cuando llegó Jesús al lugar, miró hacia arriba y le dijo: Zaqueo, baja pronto, porque voy a reposar hoy en tu casa.
When Yeshua came to the place, he looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”
6 Él [se] apresuró, bajó y con gozo lo recibió.
He hurried, came down, and received him joyfully.
7 Pero al ver [esto], todos refunfuñaban: Entró a reposar con un pecador.
When they saw it, they all murmured, saying, “He has gone in to lodge with a man who is a sinner.”
8 Entonces Zaqueo, puesto en pie, dijo al Señor: Mira, Señor, la mitad de mis bienes doy a [los] pobres, y si en algo extorsioné a alguno, [lo] devuelvo cuadruplicado.
Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much.”
9 Jesús le dijo: Hoy vino [la] salvación a esta casa, por cuanto él también es hijo de Abraham.
Yeshua said to him, “Today, salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham.
10 Porque el Hijo del Hombre vino a buscar y a salvar lo que estaba perdido.
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.”
11 Por cuanto Él estaba cerca de Jerusalén y porque ellos oían esto y pensaban que el reino de Dios ya iba a manifestarse, prosiguió y presentó una parábola:
As they heard these things, he went on and told a parable, because he was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that God’s Kingdom would be revealed immediately.
12 Un hombre noble salió hacia un país lejano a recibir un reino para él, y regresar.
He said therefore, “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return.
13 Después de llamar a diez de sus esclavos, les dio diez minas y les dijo: Negocien mientras vengo.
He called ten servants of his and gave them ten mina coins, and told them, ‘Conduct business until I come.’
14 Pero sus conciudadanos lo aborrecían, y enviaron tras él una delegación para que dijera: No deseamos que éste reine sobre nosotros.
But his citizens hated him, and sent an envoy after him, saying, ‘We don’t want this man to reign over us.’
15 Al regresar después de recibir el reino, sucedió que él ordenó llamar a aquellos esclavos a quienes había entregado la plata para saber cuánto ganaron.
“When he had come back again, having received the kingdom, he commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by conducting business.
16 Entonces llegó el primero y dijo: Señor, tu mina produjo diez minas.
The first came before him, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made ten more minas.’
17 Le contestó: ¡Bien hecho, buen esclavo! Por cuanto en lo ínfimo fuiste fiel, ten autoridad sobre diez ciudades.
“He said to him, ‘Well done, you good servant! Because you were found faithful with very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’
18 Llegó el segundo y dijo: Señor, tu mina produjo cinco minas.
“The second came, saying, ‘Your mina, Lord, has made five minas.’
19 Y dijo a éste: Tú también tendrás autoridad sobre cinco ciudades.
“So he said to him, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’
20 El otro llegó y dijo: Señor, aquí está tu mina que tenía guardada en un pañuelo,
Another came, saying, ‘Lord, behold, your mina, which I kept laid away in a handkerchief,
21 porque temía, pues eres hombre severo que tomas lo que no pusiste y cosechas lo que no sembraste.
for I feared you, because you are an exacting man. You take up that which you didn’t lay down, and reap that which you didn’t sow.’
22 Le dijo: Esclavo malo, por lo que dices te juzgo. ¿Sabías que yo soy hombre severo, que tomo lo que no puse y que cosecho lo que no sembré?
“He said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant! You knew that I am an exacting man, taking up that which I didn’t lay down and reaping that which I didn’t sow.
23 ¿Entonces por qué no depositaste mi dinero en el banco, y al regresar, yo lo hubiera recibido con intereses?
Then why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank, and at my coming, I might have earned interest on it?’
24 A los presentes les dijo: ¡Quiten la mina a éste y denla al que tiene las diez minas!
He said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina away from him and give it to him who has the ten minas.’
25 Y le replicaron: Señor, ¡tiene diez minas!
“They said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten minas!’
26 [Contestó]: Les digo que a todo el que tiene se [le] dará, pero [al] que no tiene, aun lo que tiene se [le] quitará.
‘For I tell you that to everyone who has, will more be given; but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away from him.
27 A aquellos enemigos míos que no quisieron que yo reinara sobre ellos, ¡tráiganlos acá y mátenlos delante de mí!
But bring those enemies of mine who didn’t want me to reign over them here, and kill them before me.’”
28 Después de decir estas cosas, iba hacia adelante y subía a Jerusalén.
Having said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.
29 Cuando Jesús llegó cerca de Betfagé y Betania, a la Montaña de [Los] Olivos, envió a dos discípulos
When he came near to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the mountain that is called Olivet, he sent two of his disciples,
30 y les dijo: Vayan a la aldea de enfrente. Al entrar hallarán un pollino atado sobre el cual ninguno montó. Desátenlo y tráiganlo.
saying, “Go your way into the village on the other side, in which, as you enter, you will find a colt tied, which no man has ever sat upon. Untie it and bring it.
31 Si alguien les pregunta por qué lo desatan, digan que el Señor lo necesita.
If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say to him: ‘The Lord needs it.’”
32 Ellos fueron y hallaron como les dijo.
Those who were sent went away and found things just as he had told them.
33 Cuando desataban el pollino, los dueños les preguntaron: ¿Por qué lo desatan?
As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?”
34 Ellos respondieron: El Señor lo necesita.
They said, “The Lord needs it.”
35 Llevaron el pollino a Jesús, echaron sus ropas sobre él y montaron a Jesús.
Then they brought it to Yeshua. They threw their cloaks on the colt and sat Yeshua on them.
36 Mientras Él avanzaba, ellos tendían sus ropas externas en el camino.
As he went, they spread their cloaks on the road.
37 Cuando Él se acercaba a la ladera de la Montaña de Los Olivos, la multitud de discípulos comenzó a alabar a Dios a gran voz. Se regocijaba por todos los milagros que vieron
As he was now getting near, at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen,
38 y decía: ¡Bendito el Rey que viene en [el] Nombre del Señor! ¡Paz en [el] cielo y gloria en [las] alturas!
saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest!”
39 Algunos fariseos le reclamaron: Maestro, reprende a tus discípulos.
Some of the Pharisees from the multitude said to him, “Rabbi, rebuke your disciples!”
40 Él les respondió: Les digo que si éstos callan, las piedras clamarían.
He answered them, “I tell you that if these were silent, the stones would cry out.”
41 Cuando llegó cerca y vio la ciudad, lloró por ella
When he came near, he saw the city and wept over it,
42 y dijo: ¡Si tú supieras hoy lo que corresponde a [tu] paz! Pero por ahora no puedes verlo.
saying, “If you, even you, had known today the things which belong to your peace! But now, they are hidden from your eyes.
43 Porque vendrán días cuando tus enemigos levantarán cerco contra ti, te rodearán, te estrecharán por todas partes,
For the days will come on you when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, surround you, hem you in on every side,
44 te arrasarán con tus hijos dentro de ti y no dejarán en ti piedra sobre piedra, por cuanto no reconociste el tiempo de tu supervisión.
and will dash you and your children within you to the ground. They will not leave in you one stone on another, because you didn’t know the time of your visitation.”
45 Cuando entró en el Templo, comenzó a echar fuera a los que vendían,
He entered into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it,
46 y les decía: Está escrito: Mi Casa será Casa de conversación con Dios, pero ustedes la convirtieron en cueva de ladrones.
saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of robbers’!”
47 Enseñaba cada día en el Templo, pero los principales sacerdotes, los escribas y los más prominentes del pueblo procuraban matarlo.
He was teaching daily in the temple, but the chief priests, the scribes, and the leading men among the people sought to destroy him.
48 No hallaban cómo hacerlo, porque todo el pueblo estaba pendiente de Él, y lo escuchaba.
They couldn’t find what they might do, for all the people hung on to every word that he said.
