San Lucas 17
1 Entonces dijo a sus discípulos: Es imposible que no vengan las conturbaciones, pero ¡ay de aquél por medio de quien vienen!
And he said to his disciples: It is impossible that scandals should not come: but woe to him through whom they come.
2 Es mejor para él si se le cuelga una piedra de molino al cuello y se lanza al mar, que conturbar a uno de estos pequeños.
It were better for him, that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should scandalize one of these little ones.
3 Tengan cuidado de ustedes mismos. Cuando peque tu hermano, repréndelo, y si cambia de mente, perdónalo.
Take heed to yourselves. If thy brother sin against thee, reprove him: and if he do penance, forgive him.
4 Si siete veces al día peca contra ti, y siete veces vuelve a ti y dice: Cambio de mente. Perdónalo.
And if he sin against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day be converted unto thee, saying, I repent; forgive him.
5 Dijeron los apóstoles al Señor: Auméntanos [la] fe.
And the apostles said to the Lord: Increase our faith.
6 Entonces el Señor dijo: Si [ustedes] tienen fe como un grano de mostaza, dirían al sicómoro: ¡Desarráigate y plántate en el mar! Y les obedecería.
And the Lord said: If you had faith like to a grain of mustard seed, you might say to this mulberry tree, Be thou rooted up, and be thou transplanted into the sea: and it would obey you.
7 ¿Quién de ustedes tiene un esclavo que ara o pastorea, y al llegar [éste] del campo, le dice: Pasa de inmediato, reclínate?
But which of you having a servant ploughing, or feeding cattle, will say to him, when he is come from the field: Immediately go, sit down to meat:
8 ¿No le dice más bien: Prepárame la cena, átate el delantal y sírveme hasta que coma y beba yo, y después de esto comerás y beberás tú?
And will not rather say to him: Make ready my supper, and gird thyself, and serve me, whilst I eat and drink, and afterwards thou shalt eat and drink?
9 ¿Da gracias al esclavo porque hizo lo que se le ordenó?
Doth he thank that servant, for doing the things which he commanded him?
10 Así también ustedes, cuando hagan todas las cosas que se les ordenan, digan: Somos esclavos inútiles. Hicimos lo que debíamos hacer.
I think not. So you also, when you shall have done all these things that are commanded you, say: We are unprofitable servants; we have done that which we ought to do.
11 Cuando iba hacia Jerusalén, pasaba entre Samaria y Galilea.
And it came to pass, as he was going to Jerusalem, he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
12 Cuando Él entró en una aldea, le salieron al encuentro diez hombres leprosos, quienes se pararon a una distancia.
And as he entered into a certain town, there met him ten men that were lepers, who stood afar off;
13 Gritaron: ¡Jesús, Maestro, ten misericordia de nosotros!
And lifted up their voice, saying: Jesus, master, have mercy on us.
14 Al verlos dijo: ¡Vayan, muéstrense a los sacerdotes! Sucedió que cuando iban fueron limpiados.
Whom when he saw, he said: Go, shew yourselves to the priests. And it came to pass, as they went, they were made clean.
15 Uno de ellos, al ver que fue sanado, regresó y glorificaba a Dios a gran voz.
And one of them, when he saw that he was made clean, went back, with a loud voice glorifying God.
16 Se postró a sus pies y le daba gracias. Era un samaritano.
And he fell on his face before his feet, giving thanks: and this was a Samaritan.
17 Jesús le preguntó: ¿No fueron limpiados los diez? ¿Dónde están los nueve?
And Jesus answering, said, Were not ten made clean? and where are the nine?
18 ¿No regresaron a dar gloria a Dios, excepto este extranjero?
There is no one found to return and give glory to God, but this stranger.
19 Y le dijo: Levántate, vete. Tu fe te salvó.
And he said to him: Arise, go thy way; for thy faith hath made thee whole.
20 Al ser interrogado por los fariseos sobre cuándo viene el reino de Dios, les respondió: El reino de Dios no viene con advertencia,
And being asked by the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come? he answered them, and said: The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
21 ni dirán: ¡Miren, está aquí! O: ¡Miren, está allí! Porque aquí en medio de ustedes está el reino de Dios.
Neither shall they say: Behold here, or behold there. For lo, the kingdom of God is within you.
22 Entonces dijo a los discípulos: Vendrán días cuando ustedes anhelarán ver uno de los días del Hijo del Hombre, y no [lo] verán.
And he said to his disciples: The days will come, when you shall desire to see one day of the Son of man; and you shall not see it.
23 Y les dirán: ¡Miren, está aquí! ¡Miren, está allí! No vayan, ni persigan.
And they will say to you: See here, and see there. Go ye not after, nor follow them:
24 Como el resplandor del relámpago brilla desde un extremo del cielo hasta el otro, así será el Hijo del Hombre.
For as the lightening that lighteneth from under heaven, shineth unto the parts that are under heaven, so shall the Son of man be in his day.
25 Pero primero le es necesario padecer mucho y ser rechazado por esta generación.
But first he must suffer many things, and be rejected by this generation.
26 Como sucedió en los días de Noé, así será también en los días del Hijo del Hombre:
And as it came to pass in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 Comían, bebían, se casaban y se daban en matrimonio, hasta el día cuando Noé entró en el arca. Vino el diluvio y destruyó a todos.
They did eat and drink, they married wives, and were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark: and the flood came and destroyed them all.
28 Asimismo, como sucedió en los días de Lot: comían, bebían, compraban, vendían, plantaban y edificaban.
Likewise as it came to pass, in the days of Lot: they did eat and drink, they bought and sold, they planted and built.
29 Pero el día cuando Lot salió de Sodoma, llovió fuego y azufre del cielo y destruyó a todos.
And in the day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Así será el día cuando el Hijo del Hombre se manifieste.
Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man shall be revealed.
31 En aquel día, el que esté en la azotea y sus bienes en la casa, no baje a tomarlos. El que [esté] en el campo, igualmente, no vuelva a las cosas de atrás.
In that hour, he that shall be on the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away: and he that shall be in the field, in like manner, let him not return back.
32 Recuerden a la esposa de Lot.
Remember Lot’s wife.
33 Cualquiera que procure preservar su vida, la perderá, y cualquiera que la pierda, [la] preservará.
Whosoever shall seek to save his life, shall lose it: and whosoever shall lose it, shall preserve it.
34 Les digo: Aquella noche estarán dos en una cama: uno será tomado y otro será dejado.
I say to you: in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
35 Dos molerán en el mismo lugar: una será tomada y otra será dejada.
Two women shall be grinding together: the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left: two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be keft.
They answering, say to him: Where, Lord?
37 Le preguntaron: ¿Dónde, Señor? Él les contestó: Donde esté el cadáver, allí también se reunirán los buitres.
Who said to them: Wheresoever the body shall be, thither will the eagles also be gathered together.
