Isaías 30

1 ¡Ay de los hijos rebeldes, dice Yavé, que ejecutan un plan, pero no mío, y hacen un pacto, pero no de mi Espíritu, con el fin de añadir pecado con pecado,

Woe to the rebellious children, says the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

2 quienes salen para bajar a Egipto a buscar la protección de Faraón y refugiarse en la sombra de Egipto!

That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!

3 Pero la protección de Faraón será su vergüenza, y el amparo a la sombra de Egipto, su humillación.

Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.

4 Cuando sus magistrados estén ya en Zoán, y sus embajadores lleguen a Hanes,

For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes.

5 todos serán avergonzados por un pueblo que no puede aprovecharles, pues no sirven de ayuda ni de ganancia, sino de vergüenza, de humillación y hasta de afrenta.

They were all ashamed of a people that could not profit them, nor be an help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.

6 Carga profética sobre las bestias del Neguev: Por tierra de tribulación y angustia, de donde salen la leona, el león, la víbora y la serpiente que vuela, llevan sus riquezas sobre asnos y sus tesoros sobre las jorobas de sus camellos a un pueblo que no les será provechoso,

The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and anguish, from where come the young and old lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they will carry their riches on the shoulders of young asses, and their treasures on the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not profit them.

7 a Egipto, aunque la ayuda de él es vana e inútil, por lo cual lo llamé: Rahab, la inutilizada.

For the Egyptians shall help in vain, and to no purpose: therefore have I cried concerning this, Their strength is to sit still.

8 Vé, pues, ahora y escribe esta visión en una tablilla delante de ellos, y regístrala en un rollo, a fin de que sirva para siempre como un testimonio en el tiempo venidero.

Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:

9 Porque este pueblo es rebelde, hijos mentirosos, hijos que no quieren escuchar la Ley de Yavé,

That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD:

10 quienes dicen a los videntes: No vean, y a los profetas: No profeticen cosas rectas para nosotros. Dígannos cosas halagüeñas. Profeticen mentiras.

Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not to us right things, speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits:

11 Apártense del camino, desvíense de la senda. Quiten de delante de nosotros al Santo de Israel.

Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.

12 Por tanto el Santo de Israel dice: Por cuanto desechan esta Palabra, confían en la violencia y en la perversidad y se apoyan en ellas,

Why thus says the Holy One of Israel, Because you despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon:

13 este pecado les será como brecha que amenaza ruina y se extiende desde lo alto del muro hasta que se desploma súbita y repentinamente.

Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking comes suddenly at an instant.

14 Esta quebradura será como se quiebra un vaso de alfarero, que lo hace trizas sin compasión, hasta no quedar entre sus pedazos, ni un tiesto con el cual llevar fuego del horno o para sacar agua del pozo.

And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters’ vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a shard to take fire from the hearth, or to take water with out of the pit.

15 Porque ʼAdonay Yavé, el Santo de Israel, dice: En regresar a Mí y tener calma, serán salvos. En quietud y confianza está su fortaleza. Pero no quisieron.

For thus says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall you be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and you would not.

16 Sino dijeron: No, huiremos a caballo. Por eso ciertamente huirán. Dijeron: En veloces corceles cabalgaremos. Por eso más veloces serán sus perseguidores.

But you said, No; for we will flee on horses; therefore shall you flee: and, We will ride on the swift; therefore shall they that pursue you be swift.

17 Un millar huirán por la amenaza de uno. Por la amenaza de cinco huirán todos ustedes, hasta que queden como mástil en la cumbre de una montaña y como bandera sobre una colina.

One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall you flee: till you be left as a beacon on the top of a mountain, and as an ensign on an hill.

18 Por tanto, Yavé espera para otorgarles gracia. Por eso se levanta para compadecerse de ustedes, porque Yavé es ʼElohim justo. ¡Inmensamente felices todos los que esperan en Él!

And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious to you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy on you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.

19 Oh pueblo de Sion que habitas en Jerusalén, en verdad nunca más volverás a llorar. Ciertamente Aquél que es compasivo se compadecerá de ti. Te responderá al oír la voz de tu clamor.

For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: you shall weep no more: he will be very gracious to you at the voice of your cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer you.

20 Aunque ʼAdonay les dé pan de escasez y agua de aflicción, su Maestro nunca más se ocultará. Con tus propios ojos verás a tu Maestro.

And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not your teachers be removed into a corner any more, but your eyes shall see your teachers:

21 Entonces tus oídos oirán una Palabra detrás de ti que dirá: Éste es el camino. Anden por él.

And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way, walk you in it, when you turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the left.

22 Entonces profanarás tus esculturas cubiertas de plata y tus imágenes fundidas revestidas de oro. Las tirarás como trapo de menstruo y les dirás: ¡Fuera!

You shall defile also the covering of your graven images of silver, and the ornament of your molten images of gold: you shall cast them away as a menstruous cloth; you shall say to it, Get you hence.

23 Te dará lluvia para la semilla que siembres en el campo. El grano de la cosecha de la tierra será rico y sustancioso. En aquel día tus ganados pastarán en amplios pastizales.

Then shall he give the rain of your seed, that you shall sow the ground with; and bread of the increase of the earth, and it shall be fat and plenteous: in that day shall your cattle feed in large pastures.

24 Los bueyes y asnos que labran la tierra comerán forraje fermentado, aventado con pala y horqueta.

The oxen likewise and the young asses that ear the ground shall eat clean provender, which has been winnowed with the shovel and with the fan.

25 Sucederá en aquel día de la gran matanza que, cuando caigan las torres, habrá arroyos y corrientes de agua en toda montaña alta y en toda colina elevada.

And there shall be on every high mountain, and on every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.

26 El día cuando Yavé ponga venda a la fractura de su pueblo y cure la llaga que Él le causó, la luz de la luna será como la luz del sol y la luz del sol será siete veces mayor.

Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD binds up the breach of his people, and heals the stroke of their wound.

27 Ciertamente el Nombre de Yavé viene de lejos, y se acerca airado y levanta densa humareda. Sus labios están llenos de ira y su lengua es fuego devorador.

Behold, the name of the LORD comes from far, burning with his anger, and the burden thereof is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire:

28 Su respiración es como un torrente desbordado que alcanza hasta la garganta, para sacudir a las naciones con zaranda hasta acabarlas y sujetar las mandíbulas de los pueblos.

And his breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the middle of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to err.

29 Pero ustedes tendrán un cántico como la noche cuando se celebra una solemnidad, y alegría de corazón como el que camina al son de la flauta para ir a la Montaña de Yavé, a la Roca de Israel.

You shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goes with a pipe to come into the mountain of the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel.

30 Yavé resonará la majestad de su voz y mostrará su brazo que descarga con furor su ira con llamas de fuego devorador, con aguacero, tempestad y granizo.

And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall show the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.

31 Pues Asiria será destrozada por causa de la voz de Yavé. Él hiere con la vara.

For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which smote with a rod.

32 Cada golpe de la vara justiciera que Yavé descargue en ella será acompañado con panderos y arpas. En tumultuosa batalla peleará contra ellos.

And in every place where the grounded staff shall pass, which the LORD shall lay on him, it shall be with tabrets and harps: and in battles of shaking will he fight with it.

33 Porque hace tiempo una hoguera profunda y ancha está dispuesta para el rey con abundante leña en Tofet. El soplo de Yavé la enciende como torrente de azufre.

For Tophet is ordained of old; yes, for the king it is prepared; he has made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, does kindle it.
