San Lucas 6
1 Y aconteció, que un día de reposo iba por los campos de trigo. Sus discípulos arrancaban las espigas y comían, frotándolas en sus manos.
And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through the grain fields; and his disciples plucked the heads of grain, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands.
2 Pero algunos de los fariseos les dijeron: “¿Por qué hacéis lo que no es lícito hacer en día de reposo?”
And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do ye that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days?
3 Jesús, respondiéndoles, dijo: “¿No habéis leído lo que hizo David cuando tuvo hambre, él y los que estaban con él,
And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him;
4 cómo entró en la casa de Dios, y tomó y comió el pan de la feria, y dio también a los que estaban con él, lo que no es lícito comer sino a los sacerdotes solos?”
How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone?
5 Él les dijo: “El Hijo del Hombre es el señor del sábado”.
And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
6 Sucedió también otro sábado que entró en la sinagoga y enseñó. Había allí un hombre que tenía la mano derecha seca.
And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered.
7 Los escribas y los fariseos le vigilaban para ver si sanaba en sábado, a fin de encontrar una acusación contra él.
And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him.
8 Pero él conocía sus pensamientos, y dijo al hombre que tenía la mano seca: “Levántate y ponte en medio.” Se levantó y se puso en pie.
But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.
9 Entonces Jesús les dijo: “Os voy a preguntar una cosa: ¿Es lícito en sábado hacer el bien, o hacer el mal? ¿Salvar una vida, o matar?”
Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?
10 Miró a todos y le dijo al hombre: “Extiende tu mano”. Lo hizo, y su mano quedó tan sana como la otra.
And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
11 Pero ellos, llenos de ira, hablaban entre sí sobre lo que podrían hacer a Jesús.
And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.
12 En esos días, salió al monte a orar, y pasó toda la noche orando a Dios.
And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
13 Cuando se hizo de día, llamó a sus discípulos, y de entre ellos eligió a doce, a los que también llamó apóstoles
And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;
14 Simón, al que también llamó Pedro; Andrés, su hermano; Santiago; Juan; Felipe; Bartolomé;
Simon, ( whom he also named Peter, ) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,
15 Mateo; Tomás; Santiago, hijo de Alfeo; Simón, al que llamaban el Zelote;
Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphæus, and Simon called Zelotes,
16 Judas, hijo de Santiago; y Judas Iscariote, que también se hizo traidor.
And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor.
17 Bajó con ellos y se puso en un lugar llano, con una multitud de sus discípulos y un gran número de la gente de toda Judea y Jerusalén y de la costa de Tiro y Sidón, que venían a escucharle y a ser curados de sus enfermedades,
And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judæa and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;
18 así como los que estaban turbados por espíritus inmundos; y eran curados.
And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed.
19 Toda la multitud procuraba tocarle, porque salía de él poder y los sanaba a todos.
And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.
20 Levantó los ojos hacia sus discípulos y dijo “Benditos seáis los pobres, porque vuestro el Reino de Dios.
And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
21 Dichosos los que ahora tienen hambre, porque seréis saciados. Benditos seáis los que lloráis ahora, porque te reirás.
Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
22 Bienaventurados seréis cuando los hombres os odien, y cuando os excluyan y se burlen de vosotros, y desechen vuestro nombre como malo, por causa del Hijo del Hombre.
Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.
23 Alégrate en ese día y da saltos de alegría, porque he aquí que tu recompensa es grande en el cielo, ya que sus padres hicieron lo mismo con los profetas.
Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
24 “Pero ¡ay de vosotros, los ricos! Porque has recibido tu consuelo.
But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.
25 Ay de ti, que estás lleno ahora, porque tendrás hambre. Ay de ti que te ríes ahora, porque te lamentarás y llorarás.
Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
26 Ay, cuando los hombres hablan bien de ti, porque sus padres hicieron lo mismo con los falsos profetas.
Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
27 “Pero yo os digo a vosotros que escucháis: amad a vuestros enemigos, haced el bien a los que os odian,
But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
28 bendecid a los que os maldicen y orad por los que os maltratan.
Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
29 Al que te golpee en la mejilla, ofrécele también la otra; y al que te quite el manto, no le quites también la túnica.
And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.
30 Da a todo el que te pida, y no le pidas al que te quita tus bienes que te los devuelva.
Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
31 “Como quieras que la gente te haga a ti, haz exactamente lo mismo con ellos.
And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
32 “Si amas a los que te aman, ¿qué mérito tienes? Porque también los pecadores aman a los que los aman.
For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
33 Si hacéis bien a los que os hacen bien, ¿qué mérito tenéis? Porque también los pecadores hacen lo mismo.
And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
34 Si prestáis a aquellos de quienes esperáis recibir, ¿qué mérito tenéis? Incluso los pecadores prestan a los pecadores, para recibir lo mismo.
And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
35 Pero amad a vuestros enemigos, haced el bien y prestad sin esperar nada a cambio; y vuestra recompensa será grande, y seréis hijos del Altísimo, porque él es bondadoso con los ingratos y los malos.
But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
36 “Por lo tanto, sean misericordiosos, así como tu Padre es también misericordioso.
Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
37 No juzgues, y no serás juzgado. No condenes, y no serás condenado. Libérate, y serás liberado.
Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
38 “Dad, y se os dará; medida buena, apretada, remecida y rebosante, se os dará. Porque con la misma medida que midan se les devolverá”.
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
39 Les dijo una parábola. “¿Puede el ciego guiar al ciego? ¿No caerán ambos en un pozo?
And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
40 El discípulo no está por encima de su maestro, pero todo el mundo, cuando esté completamente formado, será como su maestro.
The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
41 ¿Por qué ves la paja que está en el ojo de tu hermano, pero no consideras la viga que está en tu propio ojo?
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
42 ¿Cómo puedes decirle a tu hermano: “Hermano, déjame quitarte la paja que tienes en el ojo”, cuando tú mismo no ves la viga que tienes en tu propio ojo? ¡Hipócrita! Primero quita la viga de tu propio ojo, y entonces podrás ver con claridad para quitar la paja que está en el ojo de tu hermano.
Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye.
43 “Porque no hay árbol bueno que produzca frutos podridos, ni árbol podrido que produzca frutos buenos.
For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
44 Porque cada árbol se conoce por su propio fruto. Porque no se recogen higos de los espinos, ni se recogen uvas de las zarzas.
For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
45 El hombre bueno del buen tesoro de su corazón saca lo bueno, y el hombre malo del mal tesoro de su corazón saca lo malo, porque de la abundancia del corazón habla su boca.
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
46 “¿Por qué me llamáis “Señor, Señor” y no hacéis lo que yo digo?
And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
47 Todo el que viene a mí, y escucha mis palabras y las pone en práctica, os mostraré a quién se parece.
Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
48 Es como un hombre que construye una casa, que cavó y profundizó y puso los cimientos sobre la roca. Cuando se produjo una inundación, la corriente rompió contra esa casa, y no pudo sacudirla, porque estaba fundada sobre la roca.
He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
49 Peroel que oye y no hace, es como un hombre que construyó una casa sobre la tierra sin cimientos, contra la cual rompió la corriente, y enseguida cayó; y la ruina de aquella casa fue grande.”
But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
