San Lucas 20
1 Uno de esos días, mientras enseñaba al pueblo en el templo y predicaba la Buena Nueva, se le acercaron los sacerdotes y los escribas con los ancianos.
And it came to pass, on one of those days, as he was teaching the people in the temple, and publishing the good tidings, that the priests and the scribes with the elders came upon him,
2 Le preguntaron: “Dinos: ¿con qué autoridad haces estas cosas? ¿O quién te da esta autoridad?”
and spoke to him, saying, Tell us, by what authority doest thou these things? Or who is he that gave thee this authority?
3 Él les respondió: “Yo también os haré una pregunta. Decidme:
And he answering said to them, I also will ask you a question; and tell me:
4 el bautismo de Juan, ¿era del cielo o de los hombres?”
The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or from men?
5 Ellos razonaban entre sí, diciendo: “Si decimos: “Del cielo”, nos dirá: “¿Por qué no le habéis creído?”
And they reasoned among themselves, saying, If we say, From heaven, he will say, Why did ye not believe him?
6 Pero si decimos: “De los hombres”, todo el pueblo nos apedreará, porque están persuadidos de que Juan era un profeta.”
But if we say, From men, all the people will stone us; for they are persuaded that John was a prophet.
7 Ellos respondieron que no sabían de dónde venía.
And they answered, that they did not know whence it was.
8 Jesús les dijo: “Tampoco os diré con qué autoridad hago estas cosas”.
And Jesus said to them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
9 Comenzó a contar a la gente esta parábola: “Un hombre plantó una viña, la alquiló a unos agricultores y se fue a otro país durante mucho tiempo.
And he began to speak to the people this parable: A man planted a vineyard, and let it out to husbandmen, and went abroad for a long time.
10 A su debido tiempo, envió un criado a los agricultores para que recogiera su parte del fruto de la viña. Pero los campesinos lo golpearon y lo despidieron con las manos vacías.
And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard; but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty-handed.
11 Envió a otro siervo, pero también lo golpearon y lo trataron de forma vergonzosa, y lo despidieron con las manos vacías.
And he sent still another servant; and they beat him also, and treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty-handed.
12 Envió a un tercero, y también lo hirieron y lo echaron.
And he went on to send a third; and they wounded him also, and cast him out.
13 El señor de la viña dijo: “¿Qué voy a hacer? Enviaré a mi hijo amado. Puede ser que, al verlo, lo respeten’.
And the lord of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son; perhaps they will respect him.
14 “Pero cuando los campesinos lo vieron, razonaron entre ellos, diciendo: ‘Este es el heredero. Vamos, matémoslo, para que la herencia sea nuestra’.
But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir; let us kill him, that the inheritance may become ours.
15 Entonces lo echaron de la viña y lo mataron. ¿Qué hará, pues, el señor de la viña con ellos?
So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What then will the lord of the vineyard do to them?
16 Vendrá y destruirá a estos labradores, y dará la viña a otros”. Cuando lo oyeron, dijeron: “¡Que nunca sea así!”.
He will come and destroy these husbandmen, and will give the vineyard to others. And when they heard this, they said, God forbid!
17 Pero él los miró y dijo: “Entonces, ¿qué es esto que está escrito, La piedra que desecharon los constructores se convirtió en la principal piedra angular”.
But he, looking upon them, said, What then is this which is written, “The stone which the builders rejected, the same hath become the corner-stone”?
18 Todo el que caiga sobre esa piedra se hará pedazos, pero aplastará a quien caiga en polvo”.
Every one who falleth upon that stone will be broken; but on whomever it falleth, it will grind him to powder.
19 Los jefes de los sacerdotes y los escribas trataron de echarle mano en aquella misma hora, pero temían al pueblo, pues sabían que había dicho esta parábola contra ellos.
And the scribes and the chief priests sought to lay hands on him in that hour, but they feared the people; for they knew that he spoke this parable against them.
20 Lo vigilaban y enviaron espías, que se hacían pasar por justos, para atraparlo en algo que dijera, a fin de entregarlo al poder y a la autoridad del gobernador.
And they kept watch on him, and sent forth spies feigning themselves to be righteous men, that they might take hold of his words, in order to deliver him up to the civil power and to the authority of the governor.
21 Le preguntaron: “Maestro, sabemos que dices y enseñas lo que es justo, y que no eres parcial con nadie, sino que enseñas verdaderamente el camino de Dios.
And they asked him, saying, Teacher, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, and hast no regard to the person of men, but teachest the way of God truly.
22 ¿Nos es lícito pagar impuestos al César, o no?”
Is it lawful for us to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
23 Pero él, al darse cuenta de su astucia, les dijo: “¿Por qué me ponéis a prueba?
But perceiving their craftiness, he said to them,
24 Muéstrenme un denario. ¿De quién es la imagen y la inscripción que lleva?” Ellos respondieron: “Del César”.
Show me a denary. Whose image and inscription hath it? And they answered and said, Caesar's.
25 Les dijo: “Dad al César lo que es del César y a Dios lo que es de Dios”.
And he said to them, Render then to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.
26 No pudieron atraparlo en sus palabras ante el pueblo. Se maravillaron de su respuesta y guardaron silencio.
And they could not take hold of his words before the people; and marveling at his answer, they held their peace.
27 Se le acercaron algunos de los saduceos, los que niegan que haya resurrección.
Then some of the Sadducees, who deny that there is a resurrection, came to him, and asked him,
28 Le preguntaron: “Maestro, Moisés nos escribió que si el hermano de un hombre muere teniendo esposa y no tiene hijos, su hermano debe tomar la esposa y criar hijos para su hermano.
saying, Teacher, Moses wrote to us, “If a man's brother die, having a wife, and the same die without children, his brother shall take his wife, and raise up seed to his brother.”
29 Había, pues, siete hermanos. El primero tomó una esposa y murió sin hijos.
Now there were seven brothers; and the first took a wife and died childless.
30 El segundo la tomó como esposa, y murió sin hijos.
And the second
31 El tercero la tomó, e igualmente los siete no dejaron hijos, y murieron.
and the third took her; and in like manner also the seven left no children, and died.
32 Después murió también la mujer.
At last the woman also died.
33 Por tanto, en la resurrección, ¿de quién será ella la esposa? Porque los siete la tuvieron como esposa”.
In the resurrection then, of which of them is the woman the wife? for the seven had her for a wife.
And Jesus said to them, The sons of this world marry, and are given in marriage; (aiōn g165)
35 Pero los que son considerados dignos de llegar a esa edad y a la resurrección de los muertos ni se casan ni se dan en matrimonio. (aiōn g165)
but they who have been accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage; (aiōn g165)
36 Porque ya no pueden morir, pues son como los ángeles y son hijos de Dios, siendo hijos de la resurrección.
for they cannot die any more; for they are like the angels, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.
37 Pero que los muertos resucitan, lo demostró también Moisés en la zarza, cuando llamó al Señor ‘El Dios de Abraham, el Dios de Isaac y el Dios de Jacob’.
But that the dead are raised, even Moses hath shown at the Bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.
38 Ahora bien, no es el Dios de los muertos, sino de los vivos, pues todos están vivos para él.”
Now he is not a God of the dead, but of the living; for all live to him.
39 Algunos de los escribas respondieron: “Maestro, hablas bien”.
Then some of the scribes answering, said, Teacher, thou hast well said.
40 No se atrevieron a hacerle más preguntas.
For they dared no longer to ask him any question.
41 Les dijo: “¿Por qué dicen que el Cristo es hijo de David?
And he said to them, How is it that men say that the Christ is David's son?
42 El mismo David dice en el libro de los Salmos, ‘El Señor dijo a mi Señor, “Siéntate a mi derecha,
For David himself saith in the book of Psalms, “The Lord said to my lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
43 hasta que haga de tus enemigos el escabel de tus pies”.
till I make thine enemies thy footstool.”
44 “Por lo tanto, David lo llama Señor, ¿cómo es su hijo?”
David then calleth him lord; and how is he his son?
45 A la vista de todo el pueblo, dijo a sus discípulos:
And in the hearing of all the people he said to his disciples,
46 “Cuídense de esos escribas que gustan de andar con ropas largas, y aman los saludos en las plazas, los mejores asientos en las sinagogas, y los mejores lugares en las fiestas;
Beware of the scribes, who like to walk about in long robes, and love salutations in the markets, and the chief seats in the synagogues, and the first places at feasts;
47 que devoran las casas de las viudas, y por un pretexto hacen largas oraciones. Estos recibirán mayor condena”.
who devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayers. These will receive a far greater condemnation.
