San Lucas 11
1 Cuando terminó de orar en un lugar, uno de sus discípulos le dijo: “Señor, enséñanos a orar, como también Juan enseñó a sus discípulos.”
When he finished praying in a certain place, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as Yochanan also taught his disciples.”
2 Les dijo: “Cuando oréis, decid, ‘Padre nuestro que estás en el cielo’, que tu nombre sea sagrado. Que venga tu Reino. Que se haga tu voluntad en la tierra, como en el cielo.
He said to them, “When you pray, say, ‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
3 Danos cada día el pan de cada día.
Give us day by day our daily bread.
4 Perdona nuestros pecados, porque nosotros también perdonamos a todos los que están en deuda con nosotros. No nos dejes caer en la tentación, pero líbranos del maligno”.
Forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’”
5 Les dijo: “¿Quién de vosotros, si va a un amigo a medianoche y le dice: “Amigo, préstame tres panes,
He said to them, “Which of you, if you go to a friend at midnight and tell him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,
6 porque un amigo mío ha venido de viaje y no tengo nada que ponerle delante”,
for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him,’
7 y él, desde dentro, le responde y le dice: “No me molestes. La puerta está cerrada y mis hijos están conmigo en la cama. No puedo levantarme y dárselo’?
and he from within will answer and say, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I can’t get up and give it to you’?
8 Os digo que, aunque no se levante a dárselo porque es su amigo, por su insistencia se levantará y le dará todos los que necesite.
I tell you, although he will not rise and give it to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence, he will get up and give him as many as he needs.
9 “Os digo que sigáis pidiendo y se os dará. Sigan buscando y encontrarán. Seguid llamando, y se os abrirá.
“I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you.
10 Porque todo el que pide recibe. El que busca encuentra. Al que llama se le abrirá.
For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.
11 “¿Quién de vosotros, padres, si su hijo le pide pan, le dará una piedra? O si le pide un pescado, acaso le dará una serpiente en lugar de un pescado, ¿verdad?
“Which of you fathers, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he won’t give him a snake instead of a fish, will he?
12 O si le pide un huevo, no le dará un escorpión, ¿verdad?
Or if he asks for an egg, he won’t give him a scorpion, will he?
13 Si ustedes, siendo malos, saben dar buenos regalos a sus hijos, ¿cuánto más su Padre celestial dará el Espíritu Santo a los que se lo pidan?”
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?”
14 Estaba expulsando a un demonio, y éste era mudo. Cuando el demonio salió, el mudo habló; y las multitudes se maravillaron.
He was casting out a demon, and it was mute. When the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke; and the multitudes marvelled.
15 Pero algunos de ellos decían: “Expulsa los demonios por Beelzebul, el príncipe de los demonios.”
But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons.”
16 Otros, poniéndole a prueba, pedían de él una señal del cielo.
Others, testing him, sought from him a sign from heaven.
17 Pero él, conociendo sus pensamientos, les dijo: “Todo reino dividido contra sí mismo es asolado. Una casa dividida contra sí misma cae.
But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation. A house divided against itself falls.
18 Si también Satanás está dividido contra sí mismo, ¿cómo permanecerá su reino? Porque decís que yo expulso los demonios por Beelzebul.
If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul.
19 Pero si yo expulso los demonios por Beelzebul, ¿por quién los expulsan vuestros hijos? Por tanto, ellos serán vuestros jueces.
But if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.
20 Pero si yo expulso los demonios por el dedo de Dios, entonces el Reino de Dios ha llegado a vosotros.
But if I by God’s finger cast out demons, then God’s Kingdom has come to you.
21 “Cuando el hombre fuerte, completamente armado, vigila su propia morada, sus bienes están a salvo.
“When the strong man, fully armed, guards his own dwelling, his goods are safe.
22 Pero cuando alguien más fuerte lo ataca y lo vence, le quita toda la armadura en la que confiaba y reparte su botín.
But when someone stronger attacks him and overcomes him, he takes from him his whole armour in which he trusted, and divides his plunder.
23 “El que no está conmigo está contra mí. El que no se reúne conmigo se dispersa.
“He who is not with me is against me. He who doesn’t gather with me scatters.
24 El espíritu inmundo, cuando ha salido del hombre, pasa por lugares secos, buscando descanso; y al no encontrarlo, dice: ‘Me volveré a mi casa de donde salí’.
The unclean spirit, when he has gone out of the man, passes through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, ‘I will turn back to my house from which I came out.’
25 Cuando regresa, la encuentra barrida y ordenada.
When he returns, he finds it swept and put in order.
26 Entonces va y toma otros siete espíritus más malos que él, y entran y habitan allí. El último estado de ese hombre llega a ser peor que el primero”.
Then he goes and takes seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that man becomes worse than the first.”
27 Mientras decía estas cosas, una mujer de entre la multitud alzó la voz y le dijo: “¡Bendito sea el vientre que te llevó y los pechos que te amamantaron!”
It came to pass, as he said these things, a certain woman out of the multitude lifted up her voice and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts which nursed you!”
28 Pero él dijo: “Al contrario, bienaventurados los que escuchan la palabra de Dios y la guardan”.
But he said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it.”
29 Cuando las multitudes se reunieron con él, comenzó a decir: “Esta es una generación malvada. Busca una señal. No se le dará otra señal que la del profeta Jonás.
When the multitudes were gathering together to him, he began to say, “This is an evil generation. It seeks after a sign. No sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet.
30 Porque así como Jonás fue una señal para los ninivitas, así también lo será el Hijo del Hombre para esta generación.
For even as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so the Son of Man will also be to this generation.
31 La Reina del Sur se levantará en el juicio con los hombres de esta generación y los condenará, porque ha venido desde los confines de la tierra para escuchar la sabiduría de Salomón; y he aquí que uno más grande que Salomón está aquí.
The Queen of the South will rise up in the judgement with the men of this generation and will condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, one greater than Solomon is here.
32 Los hombres de Nínive se levantarán en el juicio con esta generación y la condenarán, porque se arrepintieron ante la predicación de Jonás; y he aquí que uno más grande que Jonás está aquí.
The men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgement with this generation, and will condemn it, for they repented at the proclaiming of Jonah; and behold, one greater than Jonah is here.
33 “Nadie, cuando ha encendido una lámpara, la pone en un sótano o debajo de un cesto, sino sobre un soporte, para que los que entren puedan ver la luz.
“No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, that those who come in may see the light.
34 La lámpara del cuerpo es el ojo. Por eso, cuando tu ojo es bueno, todo tu cuerpo está también lleno de luz; pero cuando es malo, también tu cuerpo está lleno de oscuridad.
The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore when your eye is good, your whole body is also full of light; but when it is evil, your body also is full of darkness.
35 Mira, pues, si la luz que hay en ti no es oscuridad.
Therefore see whether the light that is in you isn’t darkness.
36 Si, pues, todo tu cuerpo está lleno de luz, sin que haya ninguna parte oscura, estará totalmente lleno de luz, como cuando la lámpara con su resplandor te alumbra.”
If therefore your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly full of light, as when the lamp with its bright shining gives you light.”
37 Mientras hablaba, un fariseo le pidió que cenara con él. Entró y se sentó a la mesa.
Now as he spoke, a certain Pharisee asked him to dine with him. He went in and sat at the table.
38 Cuando el fariseo lo vio, se maravilló de que no se hubiera lavado antes de cenar.
When the Pharisee saw it, he marvelled that he had not first washed himself before dinner.
39 El Señor le dijo: “Ahora bien, vosotros, fariseos, limpiáis el exterior de la copa y del plato, pero vuestro interior está lleno de extorsión y de maldad.
The Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter, but your inward part is full of extortion and wickedness.
40 Vosotros, insensatos, ¿no hizo también lo de dentro el que hizo lo de fuera?
You foolish ones, didn’t he who made the outside make the inside also?
41 Pero dad por regalos a los necesitados lo que hay dentro, y he aquí que todo os quedará limpio.
But give for gifts to the needy those things which are within, and behold, all things will be clean to you.
42 Pero ¡ay de vosotros, fariseos! Porque diezmáis la menta y la ruda y toda hierba, pero dejáis de lado la justicia y el amor de Dios. Deberíais haber hecho esto, y no haber dejado de hacer lo otro.
But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and every herb, but you bypass justice and God’s love. You ought to have done these, and not to have left the other undone.
43 ¡Ay de vosotros, fariseos! Porque amáis los mejores asientos en las sinagogas y los saludos en las plazas.
Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the best seats in the synagogues and the greetings in the marketplaces.
44 ¡Ay de vosotros, escribas y fariseos, hipócritas! Porque sois como sepulcros ocultos, y los hombres que andan sobre ellos no lo saben”.
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like hidden graves, and the men who walk over them don’t know it.”
45 Uno de los abogados le respondió: “Maestro, al decir esto también nos insultas”.
One of the Torah scholars answered him, “Rabbi, in saying this you insult us also.”
46 Dijo: “¡Ay de ustedes, los abogados! Porque cargáis a los hombres con cargas difíciles de llevar, y vosotros mismos no levantáis ni un dedo para ayudar a llevar esas cargas.
He said, “Woe to you Torah scholars also! For you load men with burdens that are difficult to carry, and you yourselves won’t even lift one finger to help carry those burdens.
47 ¡Ay de ustedes! Porque construís las tumbas de los profetas, y vuestros padres los mataron.
Woe to you! For you build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
48 Así pues, vosotros dais testimonio y consentid en las obras de vuestros padres. Porque ellos los mataron, y vosotros construís sus tumbas.
So you testify and consent to the works of your fathers. For they killed them, and you build their tombs.
49 Por eso también la sabiduría de Dios dijo: ‘Les enviaré profetas y apóstoles; y a algunos de ellos los matarán y perseguirán,
Therefore also the wisdom of God said, ‘I will send to them prophets and emissaries; and some of them they will kill and persecute,
50 para que la sangre de todos los profetas, que fue derramada desde la fundación del mundo, sea requerida de esta generación,
that the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation,
51 desde la sangre de Abel hasta la sangre de Zacarías, que pereció entre el altar y el santuario.’ Sí, os digo que se exigirá a esta generación.
from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary.’ Yes, I tell you, it will be required of this generation.
52 ¡Ay de vosotros, abogados! Porque os habéis llevado la llave del conocimiento. Vosotros mismos no entrasteis, y a los que entraban, se lo impedisteis”.
Woe to you Torah scholars! For you took away the key of knowledge. You didn’t enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in, you hindered.”
53 Mientras les decía estas cosas, los escribas y los fariseos empezaron a enojarse terriblemente, y con vehemencia le hacían preguntas,
As he said these things to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to be terribly angry, and to draw many things out of him,
54 acechándole y buscando sorprenderle en algo que pudiera decir, para acusarle.
lying in wait for him, and seeking to catch him in something he might say, that they might accuse him.
