Habacuc 2
1 Me pondré a vigilar y me situaré en las murallas, y miraré a ver qué me dice y qué respondo sobre mi queja.
On my charge I stand, and I station myself on a bulwark, and I watch to see what He doth speak against me, and what I do reply to my reproof.
2 El Señor me respondió: “Escribe la visión, y hazla clara en tablas, para que el que corra pueda leerla.
And Jehovah answereth me and saith: 'Write a vision, and explain on the tables, That he may run who is reading it.
3 Porque la visión es todavía para el tiempo señalado, y se apresura hacia el fin, y no resultará falsa. Aunque se demore, espérala, porque seguramente vendrá. No se demorará.
For yet the vision [is] for a season, And it breatheth for the end, and doth not lie, If it tarry, wait for it, For surely it cometh, it is not late.
4 He aquí que su alma está hinchada. No es recto en él, pero el justo vivirá por su fe.
Lo, a presumptuous one! Not upright is his soul within him, And the righteous by his stedfastness liveth.
5 Sí, además, el vino es traicionero: un arrogante que no se queda en casa, que agranda su deseo como el Seol; es como la muerte y no puede saciarse, sino que reúne para sí todas las naciones y amontona para sí todos los pueblos. (Sheol h7585)
And also, because the wine [is] treacherous, A man is haughty, and remaineth not at home, Who hath enlarged as sheol his soul, And is as death that is not satisfied, And doth gather unto itself all the nations, And doth assemble unto itself all the peoples, (Sheol h7585)
6 ¿No tomarán todos estos una parábola contra él, y un proverbio burlón contra él, y dirán: ‘¡Ay del que aumenta lo que no es suyo, y del que se enriquece con la extorsión! ¿Hasta cuándo?’
Do not these — all of them — against him a simile taken up, And a moral of acute sayings for him, And say, Woe [to] him who is multiplying [what is] not his? Till when also is he multiplying to himself heavy pledges?
7 ¿No se levantarán de repente tus deudores, y despertarán los que te hacen temblar, y serás su víctima?
Do not thy usurers instantly rise up, And those shaking thee awake up, And thou hast been for a spoil to them?
8 Porque has saqueado a muchas naciones, todo el resto de los pueblos te saqueará a causa de la sangre de los hombres, y por la violencia hecha a la tierra, a la ciudad y a todos los que la habitan.
Because thou hast spoiled many nations, Spoil thee do all the remnant of the peoples, Because of man's blood, and of violence [to] the land, [To] the city, and [to] all dwelling in it.
9 ¡Ay del que obtiene una mala ganancia para su casa, para poner su nido en alto, para librarse de la mano del mal!
Woe [to] him who is gaining evil gain for his house, To set on high his nest, To be delivered from the hand of evil,
10 Has ideado una vergüenza para tu casa, despojando a muchos pueblos, y has pecado contra tu alma.
Thou hast counselled a shameful thing to thy house, To cut off many peoples, and sinful [is] thy soul.
11 Porque la piedra clamará desde la pared, y la viga desde la madera le responderá.
For a stone from the wall doth cry out, And a holdfast from the wood answereth it.
12 ¡Ay del que construye un pueblo con sangre, y establece una ciudad con iniquidad!
Woe [to] him who is building a city by blood, And establishing a city by iniquity.
13 He aquí, ¿no es de Yahvé de los Ejércitos que los pueblos se afanen por el fuego, y las naciones se fatiguen por la vanidad?
Lo, is it not from Jehovah of Hosts And peoples are fatigued for fire, And nations for vanity are weary?
14 Porque la tierra se llenará del conocimiento de la gloria de Yahvé, como las aguas cubren el mar.
For full is the earth of the knowledge of the honour of Jehovah, As waters cover [the bottom of] a sea.
15 “¡Ay del que da de beber a su prójimo, derramando tu vino inflamable hasta que se emborrachen, para que puedas contemplar sus cuerpos desnudos!
Woe [to] him who is giving drink to his neighbour, Pouring out thy bottle, and also making drunk, In order to look on their nakedness.
16 Os llenáis de vergüenza y no de gloria. ¡Tú también beberás y quedarás al descubierto! La copa de la mano derecha de Yahvé se volverá sobre ti, y la desgracia cubrirá tu gloria.
Thou hast been filled — shame without honour, Drink thou also, and be uncircumcised, Turn round unto thee doth the cup of the right hand of Jehovah, And shameful spewing [is] on thine honour.
17 Porque la violencia hecha al Líbano te abrumará, y la destrucción de los animales te aterrorizará, a causa de la sangre de los hombres y por la violencia hecha a la tierra, a cada ciudad y a los que la habitan.
For violence [to] Lebanon doth cover thee, And spoil of beasts doth affright them, Because of man's blood, and of violence [to] the land, [To] the city, and [to] all dwelling in it.
18 “¿Qué valor tiene la imagen grabada, para que su hacedor la haya grabado; la imagen fundida, maestra de la mentira, para que el que modela su forma confíe en ella, para hacer ídolos mudos?
What profit hath a graven image given That its former hath graven it? A molten image and teacher of falsehood, That trusted hath the former on his own formation — to make dumb idols?
19 ¡Ay de aquel que dice a la madera: “Despierta”, o a la piedra muda: “Levántate”! ¿Acaso esto enseña? He aquí que está recubierto de oro y plata, y no hay en él aliento alguno.
Woe [to] him who is saying to wood, 'Awake,' 'Stir up,' to a dumb stone, It a teacher! lo, it is overlaid — gold and silver, And there is no spirit in its midst.
20 Pero Yahvé está en su santo templo. Que toda la tierra guarde silencio ante él”.
And Jehovah [is] in His holy temple, Be silent before Him, all the earth!
