1 Corintios 11

1 Deberían imitarme a mí, así como yo imito a Cristo.

Be imitators of me, as I also am of Christ.

2 Estoy agradecido de que ustedes siempre me recuerden y que estén manteniendo las enseñanzas tal como se las impartí.

Now I praise you, brothers, because you are mindful of me in everything, in such a way as to hold to my precepts as I have handed them down to you.

3 Quiero que entiendan que Cristo es la cabeza de todo hombre, que el hombre es la cabeza de la mujer, y que Dios es la cabeza de Cristo.

So I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ. But the head of woman is man. Yet truly, the head of Christ is God.

4 La cabeza de un hombre es deshonrada si ora o profetiza con su cabeza cubierta.

Every man praying or prophesying with his head covered disgraces his head.

5 La cabeza de una mujer es deshonrada si ora o profetiza con su cabeza descubierta, es como si tuviera su cabello rapado.

But every woman praying or prophesying with her head not covered disgraces her head. For it is the same as if her head were shaven.

6 Si la cabeza de una mujer no está cubierta, entonces debe afeitarla. Si cortar su cabello o afeitarlo es causa de escándalo, entonces debe cubrir su cabeza.

So if a woman is not veiled, let her hair be cut off. Truly then, if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off, or to have her head shaven, then she should cover her head.

7 Un hombre no debe cubrir su cabeza, porque él es la imagen y la gloria de Dios, mientras que la mujer es la gloria del hombre.

Certainly, a man ought not to cover his head, for he is the image and glory of God. But woman is the glory of man.

8 El hombre no fue hecho a partir de la mujer, sino que la mujer fue hecha del hombre;

For man is not of woman, but woman is of man.

9 y el hombre no fue creado para la mujer, sino que la mujer fue creada para el hombre.

And indeed, man was not created for woman, but woman was created for man.

10 Es por eso que la mujer debe tener esta señal de autoridad sobre su cabeza, por respeto a los ángeles que vigilan.

Therefore, a woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head, because of the Angels.

11 Aún así, desde el punto de vista del Señor, la mujer es tan esencial como el hombre, y el hombre es tan esencial como la mujer.

Yet truly, man would not exist without woman, nor would woman exist without man, in the Lord.

12 Como la mujer fue hecha del hombre, entonces el hombre viene de la mujer—pero más importante es el hecho de que todo viene de Dios.

For just as woman came into existence from man, so also does man exist through woman. But all things are from God.

13 Juzguen ustedes mismos: ¿Es apropiado que una mujer ore a Dios con su cabeza descubierta?

Judge for yourselves. Is it proper for a woman to pray to God unveiled?

14 ¿Acaso la naturaleza misma indica que un hombre con cabello largo se deshonra a sí mismo?

Does not even nature herself teach you that, indeed, if a man grows his hair long, it is a disgrace for him?

15 Sin embargo, una mujer con cabello largo se añade gloria a sí misma, porque su cabello le es dado para cubrirse.

Yet truly, if a woman grows her hair long, it is a glory for her, because her hair has been given to her as a covering.

16 Pero si alguno quiere discutir sobre esto, no tenemos ninguna otra costumbre aparte de esta, así como tampoco la tienen las otras iglesias de Dios.

But if anyone has a mind to be contentious, we have no such custom, nor does the Church of God.

17 Ahora, al darles las instrucciones que presentaré a continuación, no puedo alabarlos, ¡porque cuando se reúnen causan más daño que bien!

Now I caution you, without praising, about this: that you assemble together, and not for better, but for worse.

18 Primero que nada, he escuchado que cuando tienen reuniones en la iglesia, están divididos en distintas facciones, y creo que hay algo de verdad en esto.

First of all, indeed, I hear that when you assemble together in the church, there are schisms among you. And I believe this, in part.

19 Por supuesto, tales divisiones entre ustedes deben ocurrir para que los que son sinceros puedan darse a conocer por medio de su testimonio.

For there must also be heresies, so that those who have been tested may be made manifest among you.

20 Cuando ustedes se reúnen, realmente no están celebrando la Cena del Señor en absoluto.

And so, when you assemble together as one, it is no longer in order to eat the Lord’s supper.

21 Algunos quieren comer antes que todos los demás, y dejarlos con hambre. Y todavía hay quienes se emborrachan.

For each one first takes his own supper to eat. And as a result, one person is hungry, while another is inebriated.

22 ¿Acaso no tienen sus propias casas donde pueden comer y beber? ¿Menosprecian la casa de Dios, y humillan a los que son pobres? ¿Acaso podría decirles que están haciendo bien? ¡No tengo nada bueno que decirles por hacer esto!

Do you not have houses, in which to eat and drink? Or do you have such contempt for the Church of God that you would confound those who do not have such contempt? What should I say to you? Should I praise you? I am not praising you in this.

23 Pues yo he recibido del Señor lo que les enseñé: el Señor Jesús, en la noche que fue entregado, tomó pan.

For I have received from the Lord what I have also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus, on the same night that he was handed over, took bread,

24 Después de dar gracias, partió el pan en pedazos y dijo: “Este pan es mi cuerpo, el cual es dado para ustedes. Acuérdense de mí al hacer esto”.

and giving thanks, he broke it, and said: “Take and eat. This is my body, which shall be given up for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”

25 De la misma manera tomó la copa, y dijo: “Esta copa es el nuevo acuerdo, sellado con mi sangre. Acuérdense de mí cuando la beban.

Similarly also, the cup, after he had eaten supper, saying: “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.”

26 Y cada vez que coman este pan y beban esta copa, ustedes anuncian la muerte del Señor, hasta su regreso”.

For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the death of the Lord, until he returns.

27 De modo que cualquiera que come del pan o bebe de la copa del Señor con deshonra, será culpable de hacer mal contra el cuerpo y la sangre del Señor.

And so, whoever eats this bread, or drinks from the cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be liable of the body and blood of the Lord.

28 Que cada uno se examine así mismo y entonces déjenlo comer del pan y beber de la copa.

But let a man examine himself, and, in this way, let him eat from that bread, and drink from that cup.

29 Los que comen y beben traen juicio sobre sí mismos si no reconocen su relación con el cuerpo del Señor.

For whoever eats and drinks unworthily, eats and drinks a sentence against himself, not discerning it to be the body of the Lord.

30 Esa es la razón por la que muchos de ustedes están débiles y enfermos, e incluso algunos han muerto.

As a result, many are weak and sick among you, and many have fallen asleep.

31 Sin embargo, si realmente nos examinamos nosotros mismos, no seríamos juzgados de esta manera.

But if we ourselves were discerning, then certainly we would not be judged.

32 Pero cuando somos juzgados, estamos siendo disciplinados por el Señor, a fin de que no seamos condenados junto con el mundo.

Yet when we are judged, we are being corrected by the Lord, so that we might not be condemned along with this world.

33 Así que, mis hermanos y hermanas, cuando se reúnan a comer la Cena del Señor, espérense unos a otros.

And so, my brothers, when you assemble together to eat, be attentive to one another.

34 Si alguno tiene hambre, es mejor que coma en su casa para que cuando se reúnan no traiga condenación sobre sí. Les daré más instrucciones cuando vaya a visitarlos.

If anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, so that you may not assemble together unto judgment. As for the rest, I will set it in order when I arrive.
