Nehemías 7
1 Cuando después de la construcción de las murallas hube puesto las puertas y los porteros, cantores y levitas estaban en sus puestos,
When the wall was finished and I had set up the doors in place, and the gatekeepers and singers and Levites had been appointed,
2 entregué el mando sobre Jerusalén a mi hermano Hananí, y a Hananías comandante de la ciudadela, como quien era hombre fiel y más temeroso de Dios que (otros) muchos.
I gave my brother Hanani charge over Jerusalem, along with Hananiah who had oversight of the fortress, for he was a faithful man and feared God more than many.
3 Y les dije: “No han de abrirse las puertas de Jerusalén hasta que caliente el sol; y se cerrarán y asegurarán las puertas estando (los capitanes) presentes; y nombrad centinelas de entre los habitantes de Jerusalén que monten la guardia cada uno en su puesto y enfrente de su casa.”
I said to them, “Do not open the gates of Jerusalem until the sun is hot. While the gatekeepers are on guard, you may shut the doors and bar them. Appoint guards from those who live in Jerusalem, some at the place of their guard station, and some in front of their own homes.”
4 Porque la ciudad era espaciosa y grande, y el pueblo dentro de ella escaso, y las casas no habían sido edificadas aún.
Now the city was wide and large, but there were few people within it, and no houses had yet been rebuilt.
5 Entonces mi Dios me dio la inspiración de reunir a los nobles, a los magistrados y al pueblo, para inscribirlos en los registros genealógicos. Hallé el registro genealógico de los que habían vuelto al principio, y allí encontré escrito así:
My God put into my heart to gather together the nobles, the officials, and the people to enroll them by their families. I found the book of the genealogy of those who returned at the first and found the following written in it.
6 “Estos son los hijos de la provincia que volvieron de los cautivos de la deportación, los que había llevado cautivos Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, y que regresaron a Jerusalén y a Judá, cada uno a su ciudad.
“These are the people of the province who went up out of the captivity of those exiles whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon took into exile. They returned to Jerusalem and to Judah, each to his city.
7 Son los que han venido con Zorobabel, Jesúa, Nehemías, Azarías, Raamías, Nahamaní, Mardoqueo, Bilsán, Mispéret, Bigvai, Nahúm, Baaná. He aquí el número de los hombres del pueblo de Israel:
They came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, and Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel included the following.

All the temple servants, and the descendants of Solomon's servants, were 392.

These were the people who went up from Tel Melah, Tel Harsha, Kerub, Addon, and Immer. But they could not prove that they or their ancestors' families were descendants from Israel:

63 De los sacerdotes: hijos de Hobaías, hijos de Hacós, hijos de Barcillai, hombre que había tomado mujer de las hijas de Barcillai galaadita, llamándose según el nombre de ellas.
Those who were from the priests: the descendants of Habaiah, Hakkoz, and Barzillai (who took his wife from the daughters of Barzillai of Gilead and was called by their name).
64 Estos buscaron la escritura de su genealogía, pero no se halló; por lo cual fueron tratados como ineptos para el sacerdocio.
These sought their records among those enrolled by their genealogy, but they could not be found, so they were excluded from the priesthood as unclean.
65 Y les prohibió el gobernador comer de las cosas santísimas, hasta que se presentase un sacerdote capaz de consultar los Urim y Tummim.
Then the governor said to them that they should not be allowed to eat the priests' share of food from the sacrifices until there rose up a priest with Urim and Thummim.
66 La Congregación toda era de cuarenta y dos mil trescientos sesenta personas
The whole assembly together was 42,360,

70 Algunos de los jefes de las casas paternas hicieron donaciones para la obra. El gobernador dio para el tesoro mil dáricos de oro, cincuenta copas y quinientos treinta vestiduras sacerdotales.
Some from among the heads of ancestors' families gave gifts for the work. The governor gave to the treasury one thousand darics of gold, 50 basins, and 530 priestly garments.
71 De los jefes de las casas paternas llegaron para el tesoro de la obra veinte mil dáricos de oro y dos mil doscientas minas de plata.
Some of the heads of ancestors' families gave into the treasury for the work twenty thousand darics of gold and 2,200 minas of silver.
72 Lo que dio el resto del pueblo fue veinte mil dáricos de oro, dos mil minas de plata y sesenta y siete vestiduras sacerdotales.
The rest of the people gave twenty thousand darics of gold, and two thousand minas of silver, and sixty-seven priestly garments.
73 Habitaron los sacerdotes, los levitas, los porteros, los cantores, parte del pueblo, los natineos, en fin, todo Israel, en sus ciudades.
So the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, some of the people, the temple servants, and all Israel lived in their cities. By the seventh month the people of Israel were settled in their cities.”
