Nahum 3
1 ¡Ay de la ciudad sanguinaria que está toda llena de mentiras y de robo, y nunca suelta la presa!
Wo to the citee of bloodis, al of leesyng, ful of to-reendyng; raueyn shal not go awei fro thee.
2 Estruendo de látigos, y estrépito de ruedas. Caballos que corren y carros que saltan.
Vois of scourge, and vois of bire of wheel, and of hors makynge noise, and of foure horsid carte brennynge, and of kniyt stiynge vp,
3 jinetes erguidos, fulgentes espadas, lanzas relampagueantes. Multitud de traspasados, cadáveres en masa, muertos sin fin. Tropieza la gente con los cuerpos muertos.
and of schynynge swerd, and glesenynge spere, and of slayn multitude, and of greuouse fallyng, nether ther is eende of careyns. And thei schulen falle togidere in her bodies,
4 Es a causa de las muchas fornicaciones de la ramera, bella y encantadora, maestra en hechicerías, que con sus fornicaciones esclavizaba a las naciones, y con sus hechizos a los pueblos.
for the multitude of fornicaciouns of the hoore fair and plesaunt, and hauynge witchecraftis; which seelde folkis in her fornicaciouns, and meynees in her enchauntementis, ether sorceries.
5 Heme aquí contra ti, dice Yahvé de los ejércitos; descubriré las faldas de tu (vestido) hasta sobre tu cara, y mostraré a las naciones tu desnudez, y a los reinos tu vergüenza.
Lo! Y to thee, seith the Lord God of oostis; and Y schal schewe thi schameful thingis in thi face; and Y schal schewe to folkis thi nakidnesse, and to rewmes thin yuel fame.
6 Arrojaré sobre ti inmundicias, te cubriré de afrenta y te pondré por espectáculo.
And Y schal cast out on thee thin abhomynaciouns, and Y schal punysche thee with dispitis, and Y schal putte thee in to ensaumple.
7 Cuantos te vean, retrocederán de ti, diciendo: ¡Destruida está Nínive! ¿Quién tendrá compasión de ella? ¿Dónde buscaré a quien te consuele?
And it schal be, ech man that schal se thee, schal skippe awei fro thee, and schal seie, Nynyue is distried. Who schal moue heed on thee? wherof schal Y seke to thee a coumfortour?
8 ¿Eres tú acaso mejor que No-Amón, que se sentaba sobre los ríos, que estaba rodeada de aguas, cuyo baluarte era el mar y cuya muralla formaban las aguas?
Whether thou art betere than Alisaundre of puplis, that dwellith in floodis? Watris ben in cumpas therof, whos richessis is the see, watris ben wallis therof.
9 Grandes eran las fuerzas de Etiopía e inmensas las de Egipto; Put y Libia eran sus auxiliares.

10 Pero también ella ha sido deportada, ha sido llevada al cautiverio, y sus niños también fueron estrellados en las encrucijadas de todas las calles; se echaron suertes sobre sus nobles, y fueron cargados de cadenas todos sus grandes.

11 Así también tú te embriagarás, y desaparecerás; también tú buscarás un refugio contra el enemigo.
And thou therfor schalt be drunkun, and schalt be dispisid, and thou schalt seke helpe of enemye.
12 Todas tus fortalezas son higueras con brevas maduras, que sacudidas caen en la boca del que las va a comer.
Al thi strengthis as a fige tree, with hise figis vnripe; if thei schulen be schakun, thei schulen falle in to the mouth of the etere.
13 He aquí que el pueblo que está en medio de ti es como mujeres; las puertas de tu país se abren de par en par a tus enemigos; el fuego devora tus cerrojos.
Lo! thi puple ben wymmen in the myddil of thee; the yatis of thi lond schulen be schewid to openyng to thin enemyes; fier schal deuoure thin herris.
14 ¡Sácate agua para el asedio, refuerza tus baluartes; entra en el lodo, pisa el barro, toma el molde de ladrillos!
Drawe vp to thee water for asegyng, bilde thi strengthis; entre in fen, and trede, thou vndurgoynge holde a tiel stoon.
15 Allí te consumirá el fuego, te destruirá la espada; te devorará como devora la langosta. ¡Multiplícate como la langosta, hazte numerosa como la langosta!
There fier schal ete thee, thou schalt perische bi swerd, it schal deuoure thee, as bruke doith; be thou gaderid togidere as a bruke, be thou multiplied as a locuste.
16 Aumenta el número de tus traficantes para que sean más numerosos que las estrellas del cielo: la langosta muda la piel y se va.
Thou madist thi marchaundises mo than ben sterris of heuene; a bruke is spred abrood, and flei awei.
17 Tus príncipes son como langostas y tus funcionarios como una manga de langostas; se posan en los vallados en un día de frío; mas cuando se levanta el sol, se huyen, y no se conoce el lugar donde están.
Thi keperis ben as locustis, and thi litle children ben as locustis of locustis, whiche sitten togidere in heggis in the dai of coold; the sun is risun, and thei fledden awei, and the place of hem is not knowun, where thei weren.
18 Tus pastores, oh rey de Asiria, duermen; tus nobles descansan (en el sepulcro), tu pueblo anda disperso sobre los montes, y no hay quien lo congregue.
Thi scheepherdis napten, thou kyng Assur, thi princes schulen be biried; thi puple ofte was hid in hillis, and ther is not that schal gadere.
19 No hay remedio para tu ruina; tu herida es gravísima; cuantos oyeren hablar de tu (ruina), batirán palmas contra ti; pues ¿sobre quién no pasó de continuo tu maldad?
Thi sorewe is not priuy, thi wounde is worst; alle men that herden thin heryng, pressiden togidere hond on thee, for on whom passide not thi malice euermore?
