San Lucas 4
1 Jesús, lleno del Espíritu Santo, dejó el Jordán, y fue conducido por el Espíritu al desierto;
Then Jesus, being full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River, and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness,
2 ( donde permaneció ) cuarenta días, y fue tentado por el diablo. No comió nada en aquellos días; y cuando hubieron transcurrido, tuvo hambre.
where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of that time he was hungry.
3 Entonces el diablo le dijo: “Si Tú eres el Hijo de Dios, di a esta piedra que se vuelva pan”.
The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.”
4 Jesús le replicó: “Escrito está: «No solo de pan vivirá el hombre»”.
Jesus answered him, “It is written, 'Man does not live on bread alone.'”
5 Después le transportó ( el diablo ) a una altura, le mostró todos los reinos del mundo, en un instante,
Then the devil led Jesus up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in an instant of time.
6 y le dijo: “Yo te daré todo este poder y la gloria de ellos, porque a mí me ha sido entregada, y la doy a quien quiero.
The devil said to him, “I will give to you all this authority and all their splendor, for they have been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want.
7 Si pues te prosternas delante de mí, Tú la tendrás toda entera”.
So then, if you will bow down and worship me, it will be yours.”
8 Jesús le replicó y dijo: “Escrito está: «Adorarás al Señor tu Dios, y a Él solo servirás»”.
But Jesus answered and said to him, “It is written, 'You will worship the Lord your God, and you will serve only him.'”
9 Lo condujo entonces a Jerusalén, lo puso sobre el pináculo del Templo, y le dijo: “Si tú eres el Hijo de Dios, échate de aquí abajo,
Then the devil led Jesus to Jerusalem and put him on the very highest point of the temple building, and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here.
10 porque está escrito: «Él mandará en tu favor a sus ángeles que te guarden»;
For it is written, 'He will give orders to his angels regarding you, to protect you,'
11 y «ellos te llevarán en palmas, para que no lastimes tu pie contra alguna piedra»”.
and, 'They will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'”
12 Jesús le replicó diciendo: “Está dicho: «No tentarás al Señor tu Dios»”.
Answering him, Jesus said, “It is said, 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'”
13 Entonces el diablo habiendo agotado toda tentación, se alejó de Él hasta su tiempo.
When the devil had finished testing Jesus, he went away and left him until another time.
14 Y Jesús volvió con el poder del Espíritu a Galilea, y su fama se difundió en toda la región.
Then Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread throughout the entire surrounding region.
15 Enseñaba en las sinagogas de ellos y era alabado por todos.
Then he began to teach in their synagogues and he was praised by all.
16 Vino también a Nazaret, donde se había criado, y entró, como tenía costumbre el día de sábado, en la sinagoga, y se levantó a hacer la lectura.
He came into Nazareth, where he had been raised, and as was his custom, he entered the synagogue on the Sabbath day and he stood up to read aloud.
17 Le entregaron el libro del profeta Isaías, y al desarrollar el libro halló el lugar en donde estaba escrito:
The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. He opened the scroll and found the place where it was written,
18 “El Espíritu del Señor está sobre Mí, porque Él me ungió; Él me envió a dar la Buena Nueva a los pobres, a anunciar a los cautivos la liberación, y a los ciegos vista, a poner en libertad a los oprimidos,
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he anointed me to tell good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed,
19 a publicar el año de gracia del Señor”.
to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.”
20 Enrolló el libro, lo devolvió al ministro, y se sentó; y cuantos había en la sinagoga, tenían los ojos fijos en Él.
Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him.
21 Entonces empezó a decirles: “Hoy esta Escritura se ha cumplido delante de vosotros”.
He began to speak to them, “Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”
22 Y todos le daban testimonio, y estaban maravillados de las palabras llenas de gracia, que salían de sus labios, y decían: “¿No es Este el hijo de José?”
Everyone there spoke well of him and they were amazed at the gracious words which were coming out of his mouth, and they asked, “Is this not the son of Joseph?”
23 Y les dijo: “Sin duda me aplicaréis aquel refrán: ‘Médico, cúrate a ti mismo’. Lo que hemos oído que has hecho en Cafarnaúm, hazlo aquí también, en tu pueblo”.
He said to them, “Surely you will say this proverb to me, 'Doctor, heal yourself. Whatever we heard that you did in Capernaum, do the same in your hometown.'”
24 Y dijo: “En verdad, os digo, ningún profeta es acogido en su tierra.
But he said, “Truly I say to you, no prophet is received in his own hometown.
25 En verdad, os digo: había muchas viudas en Israel en tiempo de Elías, cuando el cielo quedó cerrado durante tres años y seis meses, y hubo hambre grande en toda la tierra;
But in truth I tell you that there were many widows in Israel during the time of Elijah, when the sky was shut up for three years and six months, and a great famine came upon all the land.
26 mas a ninguna de ellas fue enviado Elías, sino a una viuda de Sarepta, en el país de Sidón.
But Elijah was sent to none of them, but only to Zarephath in Sidon, to a widow living there.
27 Y había muchos leprosos en Israel en tiempo del profeta Eliseo; mas ninguno de ellos fue curado, sino Naamán el sirio”.
There were many lepers in Israel during the time of Elisha the prophet, but none of them were healed except Naaman the Syrian.”
28 Al oír esto, se llenaron todos de cólera allí en la sinagoga;
All the people in the synagogue were filled with rage when they heard these things.
29 se levantaron, y, echándolo fuera de la ciudad, lo llevaron hasta la cima del monte, sobre la cual estaba edificada su ciudad, para despeñarlo.
They got up, forced him out of the town, and led him to the cliff of the hill on which their town was built, so they might throw him off the cliff.
30 Pero Él pasó por en medio de ellos y se fue.
But he passed through the middle of them and he went to another place.
31 Y bajó a Cafarnaúm, ciudad de Galilea. Y les enseñaba los días de sábado.
Then he went down to Capernaum, a city in Galilee, and he began to teach them on the Sabbath.
32 Y estaban poseídos de admiración por su enseñanza, porque su palabra era llena de autoridad.
They were astonished at his teaching, because he spoke with authority.
33 Había en la sinagoga un hombre que tenía el espíritu de un demonio inmundo, y gritó con voz fuerte:
Now in the synagogue there was a man who had the spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,
34 “¡Ea! ¿qué tenemos que ver contigo, Jesús de Nazaret? ¿Has venido para perdernos? Ya sé quien eres Tú: el Santo de Dios”.
“Ah! What do we have to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!”
35 Y Jesús le increpó diciendo: “¡Cállate y sal de él!” Y el demonio, salió de él, derribándolo al suelo en medio de ellos, aunque sin hacerle daño.
Jesus rebuked the demon, saying, “Do not speak! Come out of him!” When the demon had thrown the man down in the middle of them, he came out of him, and did not harm him in any way.
36 Y todos se llenaron de estupor, y se decían unos a otros: “¿Qué cosa es esta que con imperio y fuerza manda a los espíritus inmundos, y salen?”
All the people were very amazed, and they kept talking about it with one another. They said, “What kind of words are these? He commands the unclean spirits with authority and power and they come out.”
37 Y su fama se extendió por todos los alrededores.
So news about him began to spread into every part of the surrounding region.
38 Levantose de la sinagoga y entró en casa de Simón. La suegra de Simón padecía de una fiebre grande, y le rogaron por ella.
Then Jesus left the synagogue and entered into the house of Simon. Now Simon's mother-in-law was suffering with a high fever, and they pleaded with him on her behalf.
39 Inclinándose sobre ella increpó a la fiebre, y esta la dejó. Al instante se levantó ella y se puso a atenderlos.
So he stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. Immediately she got up and started serving them.
40 A la puesta del sol, todos los que tenían enfermos, cualquiera que fuese su mal, se los trajeron, y Él imponía las manos sobre cada uno de ellos, y los sanaba.
When the sun was setting, people brought to Jesus everyone who was sick with various kinds of diseases. He laid his hands on every one of them and healed them.
41 Salían también los demonios de muchos, gritando y diciendo: “¡Tú eres el Hijo de Dios!” Y Él los reprendía y no los dejaba hablar, porque sabían que Él era el Cristo.
Demons also came out from many of them, crying out and saying, “You are the Son of God!” Jesus rebuked the demons and would not let them speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.
42 Cuando se hizo de día, salió y se fue a un lugar desierto. Mas las muchedumbres que se pusieron en su busca, lo encontraron y lo retenían para que no las dejase.
When daybreak came, he went out into a solitary place. Crowds of people were looking for him and came to the place where he was. They tried to keep him from going away from them.
43 Pero Él les dijo: “Es necesario que Yo lleve también a otras ciudades la Buena Nueva del reino de Dios, porque para eso he sido enviado”.
But he said to them, “I must also preach the good news about the kingdom of God to many other cities, because this is the reason I was sent here.”
44 Y anduvo predicando por las sinagogas de Judea.
Then he continued to preach in the synagogues throughout Judea.
