San Lucas 13
1 En aquel momento llegaron algunas personas a traerle la noticia de esos galileos cuya sangre Pilato había mezclado con la de sus sacrificios.
Now there were some present at the same time who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.
2 Y respondiendo les dijo: “¿Pensáis que estos galileos fueron los más pecadores de todos los galileos, porque han sufrido estas cosas?
Jesus answered them, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered such things?
3 Os digo que de ninguna manera, sino que todos pereceréis igualmente si no os arrepentís.
I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.
4 O bien aquellos dieciocho, sobre los cuales cayó la torre de Siloé y los mató, ¿pensáis que eran más culpables que todos los demás habitantes de Jerusalén?
Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them—do you think that they were worse offenders than all the men who dwell in Jerusalem?
5 Os digo que de ninguna manera sino que todos pereceréis igualmente si no os convertís”.
I tell you, no, but, unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.”
6 Y dijo esta parábola: “Un hombre tenía una higuera plantada en su viña. Vino a buscar fruto de ella, y no lo halló.
He spoke this parable. “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none.
7 Entonces dijo al viñador: “Mira, tres años hace que vengo a buscar fruto en esta higuera, y no lo hallo. ¡Córtala! ¿Por qué ha de inutilizar la tierra?”
He said to the vine dresser, ‘Behold, these three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and found none. Cut it down! Why does it waste the soil?’
8 Mas él le respondió y dijo: “Señor, déjala todavía este año, hasta que yo cave alrededor y eche abono.
He answered, ‘Lord, leave it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilise it.
9 Quizá dé fruto en lo futuro; si no, la cortarás”.
If it bears fruit, fine; but if not, after that, you can cut it down.’”
10 Un día sabático enseñaba en una sinagoga.
He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath day.
11 Había allí una mujer que tenía desde hacía dieciocho años, un espíritu de enfermedad: estaba toda encorvada, y sin poder absolutamente enderezarse.
Behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years. She was bent over and could in no way straighten herself up.
12 Al verla Jesús, la llamó y le dijo: “Mujer, queda libre de tu enfermedad”.
When Jesus saw her, he called her and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.”
13 Y puso sobre ella sus manos, y al punto se enderezó y se puso a glorificar a Dios.
He laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight and glorified God.
14 Entonces, el jefe de la sinagoga, indignado porque Jesús había curado en día sabático, respondió y dijo al pueblo: “Hay seis días para trabajar; en esos días podéis venir para haceros curar, y no el día de sábado”.
The ruler of the synagogue, being indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the multitude, “There are six days in which men ought to work. Therefore come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day!”
15 Mas Jesús le replicó diciendo: “Hipócritas, ¿cada uno de vosotros no desata su buey o su asno del pesebre, en día sabático, para llevarlo al abrevadero?
Therefore the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each one of you free his ox or his donkey from the stall on the Sabbath and lead him away to water?
16 Y a esta, que es una hija de Abrahán, que Satanás tenía ligada hace ya dieciocho años, ¿no se la había de libertar de sus ataduras, en día sabático?”
Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham whom Satan had bound eighteen long years, be freed from this bondage on the Sabbath day?”
17 A estas palabras, todos sus adversarios quedaron anonadados de vergüenza, en tanto que la muchedumbre entera se gozaba de todas las cosas gloriosas hechas por Él.
As he said these things, all his adversaries were disappointed; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
18 Dijo entonces: “¿A qué es semejante el reino de Dios, y con qué podré compararlo?
He said, “What is God’s Kingdom like? To what shall I compare it?
19 Es semejante a un grano de mostaza que un hombre tomó y fue a sembrar en su huerta; creció, vino a ser un árbol, y los pájaros del cielo llegaron a anidar en sus ramas”.
It is like a grain of mustard seed which a man took and put in his own garden. It grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the sky live in its branches.”
20 Dijo todavía: “¿Con qué podré comparar el reino de Dios?
Again he said, “To what shall I compare God’s Kingdom?
21 Es semejante a la levadura que una mujer tomó y escondió en tres medidas de harina y, finalmente, todo fermentó”.
It is like yeast, which a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened.”
22 Y pasaba por ciudades y aldeas y enseñaba yendo de viaje hacia Jerusalén.
He went on his way through cities and villages, teaching, and travelling on to Jerusalem.
23 Díjole uno: “Señor, ¿los que se salvan serán pocos?”
One said to him, “Lord, are they few who are saved?” He said to them,
24 Respondioles: “Pelead para entrar por la puerta angosta, porque muchos, os lo declaro, tratarán de entrar y no podrán.
“Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in and will not be able.
25 En seguida que el dueño de casa se haya despertado y haya cerrado la puerta, vosotros, estando fuera, os pondréis a llamar a la puerta diciendo: “¡Señor, ábrenos!” Mas él respondiendo os dirá: “No os conozco ( ni sé ) de dónde sois”.
When once the master of the house has risen up and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ then he will answer and tell you, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’
26 Entonces comenzaréis a decir: “Comimos y bebimos delante de ti, y enseñaste en nuestras plazas”.
Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’
27 Pero él os dirá: “Os digo, no sé de dónde sois. Alejaos de mí, obradores todos de iniquidad”.
He will say, ‘I tell you, I don’t know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.’
28 Allí será el llanto y el rechinar de dientes, cuando veáis a Abrahán, a Isaac y a Jacob y a todos los profetas en el reino de Dios, y a vosotros arrojados fuera.
There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in God’s Kingdom, and yourselves being thrown outside.
29 y del oriente y del occidente, del norte y del mediodía vendrán a sentarse a la mesa en el reino de Dios.
They will come from the east, west, north, and south, and will sit down in God’s Kingdom.
30 Y así hay últimos que serán primeros, y primeros que serán últimos”.
Behold, there are some who are last who will be first, and there are some who are first who will be last.”
31 En ese momento se acercaron algunos fariseos, para decirle: “¡Sal, vete de aquí, porque Herodes te quiere matar”.
On that same day, some Pharisees came, saying to him, “Get out of here and go away, for Herod wants to kill you.”
32 Y les dijo: “Id a decir a ese zorro: He aquí que echo demonios y obro curaciones hoy y mañana; el tercer día habré terminado.
He said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I complete my mission.
33 Pero hoy, mañana y al otro día, es necesario que Yo ande, porque no cabe que un profeta perezca fuera de Jerusalén”.
Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, for it can’t be that a prophet would perish outside of Jerusalem.’
34 Jerusalén, Jerusalén, tú que matas a los profetas, y apedreas a los que te son enviados, ¡cuántas veces quise Yo reunir a tus hijos, como la gallina reúne su pollada debajo de sus alas, y vosotros no lo habéis querido!
“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and you refused!
35 Ved que vuestra casa os va a quedar desierta. Yo os lo digo, no me volveréis a ver, hasta que llegue el tiempo en que digáis: “¡Bendito el que viene en nombre del Señor!”
Behold, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’”
