Levítico 19

1 Habló Yahvé a Moisés, diciendo:

And Yahweh spake unto Moses, saying:

2 “Habla a toda la Congregación de los hijos de Israel y diles: Sed santos; porque Yo, Yahvé vuestro Dios, soy santo.

Speak unto all the assembly of the sons of Israel and thou shalt say unto them—Holy, shall ye be, —For holy, am I—Yahweh—your God

3 Respete cada cual a su madre y a su padre, y guardad mis sábados. Yo soy Yahvé, vuestro Dios.

Ye shall, every one, revere, his father and his mother, And my sabbaths, shall ye observe, —I—Yahweh, am your God.

4 No os volváis hacia los ídolos, ni os hagáis dioses fundidos. Yo soy Yahvé, vuestro Dios.

Do not turn unto things of nought, And, molten gods, shall ye not make to yourselves, —I—Yahweh, am your God.

5 Cuando presentéis un sacrificio pacífico a Yahvé, ofrecedlo voluntariamente.

And when ye would offer a peace-offering unto Yahweh, ye shall offer it that ye may be accepted.

6 La víctima se ha de comer el mismo día en que la inmolareis, y al día siguiente; y lo que sobrare hasta el día tercero, será entregado al fuego.

On the day, ye offer it, shall it be eaten, and on the morrow, —but, that which remaineth until the third day, in fire, shall be consumed.

7 Si se comiere algo al tercer día, estando ya en putrefacción, no será acepto.

And, if it, be eaten, on the third day, unclean, it is it shall not be accepted,

8 El que lo coma pagará su iniquidad; porque está profanando lo consagrado a Yahvé. Tal persona será extirpada de entre su pueblo.

But he that eateth it, his iniquity, shall bear, because that which had been hallowed unto Yahweh, hath he profaned, —so then that person shall be cut off from among his kinsfolk.

9 En la recolección de la mies de vuestra tierra no segarás hasta el límite de tu campo, ni respigaras los restos de tu mies.

And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly clear the border of thy field, in reaping, —nor shalt thou gather up the gleaning of thy harvest.

10 Tampoco harás rebusca en tu viña, ni recogerás en tu viña las uvas caídas; las dejarás para el pobre y para el extranjero. Yo soy Yahvé, vuestro Dios.

And, thy vineyard, shalt thou not go over again, nor gather, every single grape: for the poor and for the sojourner, shalt thou leave them, I—Yahweh, am your God.

11 No hurtaréis; no usaréis de engaño o mentira entre vosotros.

Ye shall not steal, —nor deceive nor lie one man to another;

12 No juraréis en falso por mi nombre, ni profanarás el nombre de Dios. Yo soy Yahvé.

Nor swear by my name falsely, —And so profane the name of thy God: I, am Yahweh.

13 No oprimirás a tu prójimo, ni le despojarás. No quede el salario del jornalero en tu mano hasta el día siguiente.

Thou shalt not oppress thy neighbour nor rob [him], —The wages of him that is hired shall not tarry with thee, until the morning.

14 No maldecirás al sordo, ni pondrás tropiezo ante el ciego, sino que temerás a tu Dios. Yo soy Yahvé.

Thou shalt not curse the deaf, Nor, before the blind, place a stumbling-block, —So shalt thou stand in awe of thy God I, am Yahweh.

15 Siendo juez no hagas injusticia, ni en favor del pobre, ni por respeto al grande. Juzgarás a tu prójimo según justicia.

Ye shall not act perversely in giving judgment, Thou shalt neither respect the person of the poor, Nor prefer the person of the great, —In righteousness, shalt thou judge thy neighbour.

16 No andes sembrando calumnias por entre tu pueblo; no te cruces de brazos cuando esté en peligro la vida de tu prójimo. Yo soy Yahvé.

Thou shalt not go about talebearing, among thy people Thou shalt not stand by, over the blood of thy neighbour: I, am Yahweh.

17 No odies en tu corazón a tu hermano, pero reprende a tu prójimo, para que no lleves pecado por él.

Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thy heart, —Thou shalt, faithfully reprove, thy neighbour, and not countenance him in sin:

18 No tomarás venganza, ni guardarás rencor contra los hijos de tu pueblo. Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo. Yo soy Yahvé.

Thou shalt not take vengeance neither shalt thou cherish anger against the sons of thy people, So shalt thou love thy neighbour as thyself, —I, am Yahweh.

19 Guardad mis mandamientos. No hagas que tus bestias se mezclen con las de otra especie. No siembres tu campo con dos clases distintas de semillas. No lleves vestido tejido de dos clases de hilo.

My statutes, shall ye observe, Thy beasts, shalt thou not cause to breed in two kinds, Thy field, shalt thou not sow with two sorts of seed, —And a garment woven of diverse threads, shalt thou not suffer to come upon thee.

20 Si un hombre duerme con una mujer, teniendo con ella comercio carnal, y ella es sierva y desposada a otro, sin que haya sido rescatada, ni puesta en libertad, serán castigados (ambos), mas no con la muerte, porque ella no era libre.

And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, she being a bondmaid, acquired for a husband, and neither, redeemed, nor, freedom, given her, inquisition, shall be made they shall not be put to death, because she was not free;

21 El hombre ofrecerá por su culpa a Yahvé un carnero, como sacrificio por el delito, a la entrada del Tabernáculo de la Reunión.

but he shall bring in his guilt-bearer unto Yahweh, unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, —even a ram as a guilt-bearer;

22 Con el carnero ofrecido por el delito el sacerdote hará expiación por él ante Yahvé por el pecado cometido, y se le perdonará este pecado.

and the priest shall put a propitiatory-covering over him with the guilt-bearing ram before Yahweh, on account of his sin which he hath committed, —so shall he have forgiveness, from his sin which he hath committed.

23 Cuando después de entrar en la tierra plantéis todo género de árboles frutales, consideraréis su fruto como incircunciso; por tres años lo consideraréis como incircunciso; no se comerá.

And when ye come into the land, and plant any manner of fruit-tree, then shall ye count as uncircumcised the fruit thereof, three years, shall it be to you as if unclean, it shall not be eaten.

24 Al cuarto año todos sus frutos serán consagrados en loor de Yahvé.

But, in the fourth year, all the fruit thereof shall be hallowed for a festival of thanksgiving unto Yahweh.

25 Y desde el quinto año comeréis de su fruto; rendirán entonces mayor fruto. Yo soy Yahvé, vuestro Dios.

And in the fifth year, shall ye eat the fruit thereof, that it may enrich you with its increase, —I—Yahweh, am your God.

26 No comáis nada con sangre. No practiquéis adivinación, ni magia.

Ye shall eat nothing with the blood thereof, —Ye shall not practise divination neither shall ye use magic.

27 No raeréis en forma redonda las extremidades de vuestra cabellera, ni cortarás los bordes de tu barba.

Ye shall not shave in a circle around your head, —nor shalt thou disfigure the fringe of thy beard.

28 No haréis sajaduras en vuestra carne, a causa de un muerto; ni os imprimiréis tatuaje. Yo soy Yahvé.

Cuttings for a dead person, shall ye not make in your flesh. And punctures in your persons, shall ye not print, —I, am Yahweh.

29 No profanarás a tu hija, prostituyéndola; no sea que la tierra se entregue a la fornicación y se llene de maldad.

Do not profane thy daughter by causing her to be unchaste, —lest the land fall to unchastity, and so the land be filled with wickedness.

30 Guardad mis sábados y respetad mi Santuario. Yo soy Yahvé,

My sabbaths, shall ye observe, And my sanctuary, shall ye revere, —I, am Yahweh.

31 No consultéis a los que evocan a los muertos, ni a los adivinos. No andéis en busca de ellos para no contaminaros con ellos. Yo soy Yahvé, vuestro Dios.

Do not turn unto mediums, Nor, for oracles, make search, To render yourselves unclean with them, I—Yahweh, am your God.

32 Levántate ante las canas y honra el rostro del anciano. Teme a tu Dios. Yo soy Yahvé.

Before a hoary head, shalt thou rise up, And shalt honour the presence of an elder, —So shalt thou stand in awe of thy God—I, am Yahweh.

33 Cuando un extranjero morare entre vosotros, en vuestra tierra, no le oprimáis.

And, when there sojourneth with thee a sojourner in your land, ye shall not oppress him:

34 El extranjero que morare entre vosotros, os sea como uno de vuestro pueblo. Le amarás como a ti mismo; pues extranjeros habéis sido vosotros en la tierra de Egipto. Yo soy Yahvé, vuestro Dios.

As one home born from among yourselves, shall be unto you the sojourner who sojourneth with you, So shalt thou love him as thyself, For, sojourners, became ye, in the land of Egypt, —I—Yahweh, am your God.

35 No hagáis injusticia en los juicios, ni en las medidas de longitud, ni en el peso, ni en las medidas de capacidad.

Ye shall not act perversely in giving judgment, —in measures of extent, in weights in measures of capacity:

36 Tened balanza justa, peso justo, efa justo e hin justo. Yo soy Yahvé, vuestro Dios, que os saqué del país de Egipto.

Just balances, just weights, a just ephah and a just hin, shall ye have, —I—Yahweh, am your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt.

37 Guardad todos mis preceptos y todos mis mandamientos, y ponedlos en práctica. Yo soy Yahvé.”

Therefore shall ye observe all my statutes and all my regulations and do them, —I, am Yahweh.
