Jueces 6
1 Los hijos de Israel, hicieron lo malo a los ojos de Yahvé, y los entregó Yahvé en manos de Madián, por siete años.
Forsothe the sones of Israel diden yuel in the `siyt of the Lord, and he bitook hem in the hond of Madian seuene yeer.
2 La mano de Madián pesó sobre Israel de tal manera que los hijos de Israel por miedo a los madianitas se hicieron los antros que se hallan en las montañas, las cuevas y los lugares fortificados.
And thei weren oppressid of hem greetly; and `thei maden dichis, and dennes to hem silf in hillis, and strongeste places to fiyte ayen.
3 Pues cuando Israel había hecho la siembra subían contra ellos Madián y Amalec con los hijos del Oriente.
And whanne Israel hadde sowe, Madian stiede, and Amalech, and othere of the `naciouns of the eest;
4 Acampaban frente a ellos y destruían los productos de la tierra hasta la región de Gaza, no dejando a Israel sustento alguno, ni oveja, ni buey, ni asno.
and thei settiden tentis at the sones of Israel, and wastiden alle thingis `as tho weren in eerbis, ethir grene corn, `til to the entryng of Gaza, and outirli thei leften not in Israel ony thing perteynynge to lijf, not scheep, not oxun, not assis.
5 Porque llegaban con sus ganados y sus tiendas, numerosos como las langostas; ellos y sus camellos eran innumerables, y venían al país para devastarlo.
For thei and alle her flockis camen with her tabernaclis, and at the licnesse of locustus thei filliden alle thingis, and a multitude of men and of camels was with out noumbre, and wastiden what euer thing thei touchiden.
6 Con lo que Israel fue muy debilitado por los madianitas, y los hijos de Israel clamaron a Yahvé.
And Israel was `maad low greetli in the siyt of Madian.
7 Cuando los hijos de Israel clamaron a Yahvé a causa de Madián,
And Israel criede to the Lord, `and axyde help ayens Madianytis; and he sente to hem a man,
8 envió Yahvé un profeta a los hijos de Israel, que les dijo: “Así dice Yahvé, el Dios de Israel: Yo os hice subir de Egipto, sacándoos de la casa de la servidumbre;
a profete, and he spak, The Lord God of Israel seith these thingis, Y made you to stie fro Egipt, and Y ledde you out of the hows of seruage,
9 os libré de las manos de los egipcios y de todos los que os oprimieron; los expulsé de delante de vosotros y os di su tierra;
and Y delyueride you fro the hond of Egipcians, and of alle enemyes that turmentiden you; and Y castide hem out at youre entryng, and Y yaf to you `the lond of hem;
10 y os dije: Yo soy Yahvé, vuestro Dios; no temáis a los dioses de los amorreos en cuyo país habitáis; pero no habéis escuchado mi voz.”
and Y seide, Y am `youre Lord God; drede ye not the goddis of Ammorreis, in whose lond ye dwellen; and ye nolden here my vois.
11 Vino el Ángel de Yahvé y se sentó bajo el terebinto de Ofrá, que pertenecía a Joás de la familia de Abiéser, cuando Gedeón, su hijo, estaba batiendo el trigo en el lagar, para esconderlo de los madianitas.
Forsothe an aungel of the Lord cam, and sat undur an ook, that was in Effra, and perteynede to Joas, fadir of the meinee of Ezri. And whanne Gedeon, `his sone, threischide out, and purgide wheetis in a pressour,
12 Se le apareció el Ángel de Yahvé y le dijo: “Yahvé está contigo, ¡oh valiente héroe!”
that he schulde fle Madian, an aungel of the Lord apperide to hym, and seide, The Lord be with thee, thou strongeste of men.
13 Gedeón contestó: “Ah, señor mío; si Yahvé está con nosotros, ¿cómo es que nos ha sucedido todo esto? ¿Dónde están todos sus prodigios que nos han contado nuestros padres, diciendo: No nos sacó Yahvé de Egipto? Mas ahora Yahvé nos ha abandonado y entregado en manos de Madián.”
And Gedeon seide to hym, My lord, Y biseche, if the Lord is with vs, whi therfor han alle these yuels take vs? Where ben the merueils of hym, whiche oure fadris telden, and seiden, The Lord ledde vs out of Egipt? `Now forsothe he hath forsake vs, and hath bitake vs in the hond of Madian.
14 Entonces Yahvé se volvió hacia él y dijo: “Anda con esta tu fuerza, y salvarás a Israel de la mano de Madián. ¿No soy Yo quien te envío?”
And the Lord bihelde to hym, and seide, Go thou in this strengthe of thee, and thou schalt delyuere Israel fro the hond of Madian; wite thou, that Y sente thee.
15 Mas él le dijo: “¡Ah, Señor! ¿Con qué he de salvar yo a Israel? Mira, mi familia es la más pobre en Manasés, y yo soy el más pequeño de la casa de mi padre.”
Which Gedeon answeride, and seide, My lord, Y biseche, in what thing schal Y delyuere Israel? Lo! my meynee is the loweste in Manasses, and Y am the leeste in the hows of my fadir.
16 Yahvé le respondió: “Yo estaré contigo; y derrotarás a Madián como si fuese un solo hombre.”
And the Lord seide to hym, Y schal be with thee, and thou schalt smyte Madian as o man.
17 Entonces él le dijo: “Si he hallado gracia a tus ojos, te ruego que me des una señal de que eres Tú quien hablas conmigo.
And Gedeon seide, If Y haue foundun grace bifor thee, yyue to me a signe, that thou, that spekist to me, art sente of Goddis part;
18 Y no te retires de aquí hasta que yo vuelva hacia ti y traiga mi ofrenda para ponerla delante de ti.” A lo cual respondió: “Yo me quedaré hasta que vuelvas.”
go thou not `awei fro hennus, til Y turne ayen to thee, and brynge sacrifice, and offre to thee. Whiche answeride, Y schal abide thi comyng.
19 Fue Gedeón y aderezó un cabrito, y con un efa de flor de harina coció ácimos; luego puso la carne en un canasto y echó el caldo en una olla, y los llevó para presentarlos debajo del terebinto.
And so Gedeon entride, and sethide a kide, and took therf looues of a buyschel of mell, and fleischis in a panyere; and he sente the broth of fleischis in a pot, and bar alle thingis vndur an ook, and offride to hym.
20 Y le dijo el Ángel de Dios: “Toma la carne y los ácimos, ponlos sobre esta peña y echa sobre ellos el caldo.” Y él lo hizo así.
To whom the aungel of the Lord seide, Take thou the fleischis, and therf looues, and putte on that stoon, and schede the broth aboue. And whanne he hadde do so,
21 Entonces el Ángel de Yahvé extendió la punta del báculo que tenía en la mano, y tocó la carne y los ácimos; y salió fuego de la peña, que consumió la carne y los ácimos. Luego el Ángel de Yahvé desapareció de su vista.
the aungel of the Lord helde forth the `ende of the yerde which he helde in the hond, and he touchide the fleischis, and the therf looues; and fier stiede fro the stoon, and wastide the fleischis, and therf looues. Forsothe the aungel of the Lord vanyschide fro hise iyen.
22 Viendo Gedeón que era el Ángel de Yahvé, dijo: “Ay de mí, Señor Yahvé, pues yo he visto al Ángel de Yahvé cara a cara.”
And Gedeon siy that he was `an aungel of the Lord, and seide, Lord God, alas to me, for Y siy the aungel of the Lord face to face.
23 Yahvé le dijo: “La paz sea contigo; no temas, no morirás.”
And the Lord seide to hym, Pees be with thee; drede thou not, thou schalt not die.
24 Gedeón erigió allí un altar a Yahvé, y lo llamó Paz de Yahvé. Este altar está hasta el día de hoy en Ofrá de Abiéser.
Therfor Gedeon bildide there an auter to the Lord, and he clepide it the Pees of the Lord, `til in to present dai. And whanne he was yit in Effra, which is of the meynee of Ezri, the Lord seide to hym in that nyyt,
25 En aquella misma noche dijo Yahvé a Gedeón: “Toma el toro de tu padre, el toro segundo que tiene siete años, y derriba el altar de Baal que pertenece a tu padre, y corta la aschera que está junto a él;
Take thou `the bole of thy fadir, and anothir bole of seuene yeer, and thou schalt distrie the auter of Baal, which is thi fadris, and kitte thou doun the wode, which is aboute the auter;
26 y edifica un altar a Yahvé, tu Dios, sobre la cumbre de este peñasco, según lo dispuesto, y tomando aquel segundo toro, lo ofrecerás en holocausto con la madera de la aschera cortada.”
and thou schalt bilde an auter to thi Lord God in the hiynesse of this stoon, on which thou puttidist sacrifice bifore; and thou schalt take the secounde bole, and thou schalt offre brent sacrifice on the heep of trees, whiche thou kittidist doun of the wode.
27 Tomó Gedeón diez hombres de entre sus siervos, e hizo lo que Yahvé le había mandado, pero por temor a la casa de su padre y a los hombres de la ciudad no lo hizo de día, sino de noche.
Therfore Gedeon took ten men of hise seruauntis, and dide as the Lord comaundide to hym. Sotheli Gedeon dredde the hows of his fadir, and the men of that citee, and nolde do bi dai, but fillide alle thingis bi nyyt.
28 Cuando al día siguiente madrugaron los hombres de la ciudad vieron derribado el altar de Baal, cortada la aschera que había junto a él, y el toro segundo ofrecido en holocausto sobre el altar edificado.
And whanne men of that citee hadde rise eerly, thei sien the auter of Baal distried, and the wode kit doun, and the tothir bole put on the auter, that was bildid thanne.
29 Se preguntaban entonces unos a otros: “¿Quién ha hecho esto?” Investigaron y buscaron, y se les dijo: “Gedeón, hijo de Joás, ha hecho esto.”
And thei seiden togidere, Who hath do this? And whanne thei enqueriden the doer of the deed, it was seid, Gedeon, the sone of Joas, dide alle these thingis.
30 Por lo cual los hombres de la ciudad dijeron a Joás: “Saca a tu hijo para que muera; pues ha derribado el altar de Baal, y cortado la aschera que estaba a su lado.”
And thei seiden to Joas, Brynge forth thi sone hidur, that he die, for he distriede the auter of Baal, and kittide doun the wode.
31 Mas Joás respondió a todos los que estaban delante de él: “¿Queréis acaso combatir por Baal? ¿Pretendéis vosotros salvarle? Quien se atreva luchar por él, que muera antes que llegue la mañana. Si él es Dios que luche por sí mismo contra el que ha derribado su altar.”
To whiche he answeride, Whether ye ben the venieris of Baal, that ye fiyte for hym? he that is aduersarie of hym, die, bifor that the `liyt of the morew dai come; if he is God, venge he hym silf of hym that castide doun his auter.
32 En aquel día Gedeón fue llamado Jerobaal, porque decía: “Luche Baal con aquel que ha derribado su altar.”
Fro that dai Gedeon was clepid Gerobaal, for Joas hadde seid, Baal take veniaunce of hym that castide doun his auter.
33 Todo Madián y Amalec y los hijos del Oriente se coligaron, pasaron (el Jordán) y acamparon en el valle de Jesreel.
Therfor al Madian, and Amalech, and the puplis of the eest weren gadirid to gidere, and passiden Jordan, and settiden tentis in the valey of Jezrael.
34 Entonces el Espíritu de Yahvé revistió a Gedeón, el cual tocó la trompeta, y se juntaron los de la familia de Abiéser para seguirle.
Forsothe the spirit of the Lord clothide Gedeon; `and he sownede with a clarioun, and clepide to gidere the hows of Abiezer, that it schulde sue hym.
35 Envió también mensajeros por todo Manasés, y ellos se juntaron para seguirle. Envió, además, mensajeros a Aser, Zabulón y Neftalí, los cuales salieron a su encuentro.
And he sente messangeris in to al Manasses, and he suede Gedeon; and he sente othere messangeris in to Aser, and Zabulon, and Neptalym, whiche camen to hym.
36 Y dijo Gedeón a Dios: “Si quieres salvar por mi mano a Israel, como has dicho,
And Gedeon seide to the Lord, If thou makist saaf Israel bi myn hond, as thou hast spoke,
37 he aquí que voy a poner un vellocino de lana en la era. Si solamente el vellocino se cubre de rocío, quedando todo el suelo seco, conoceré que salvarás por mi mano a Israel, conforme has prometido.”
Y schal putte this flees of wolle in the corn floor; if dew is in the flees aloone, and drynesse is in al the erthe, Y schal wite, that thou schalt delyuere Israel bi myn hond, as thou hast spoke.
38 Así fue; cuando al día siguiente se levantó muy temprano para exprimir el vellocino, sacó del vellocino tanta agua que con ella llenó una taza.
And it was don so. And he roos bi nyyt, and whanne the flees was wrongun out, he fillide a pot with deew;
39 Dijo entonces Gedeón a Dios: “No se encienda tu ira contra mí, si hablo una vez más. Permíteme repetir la prueba con el vellocino solamente esta vez. Te ruego quede seco el vellocino, en tanto que en todo el suelo haya rocío.”
and he seide eft to the Lord, Thi strong veniaunce be not wrooth ayens me, if Y asaie, `that is, axe a signe, yit onys, and seke a signe in the flees; Y preye, that the flees aloone be drie, and al the erthe be moist with deew.
40 Y así lo hizo Dios en aquella noche; quedó seco el vellocino solo, y en todo el suelo hubo rocío.
And the Lord dide in that nyyt, as Gedeon axide; and drynesse was in the flees aloone, and deew was in al the erthe.
