Jeremías 46
1 Oráculos de Yahvé que el profeta Jeremías recibió sobre los gentiles.
The word of the Lord, that was maad to Jeremye, the profete, ayens hethene men;
2 Para Egipto. Contra el ejército del Faraón Necao, rey de Egipto, que estaba en Cárquemis, junto al río Éufrates, al que derrotó Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, el año cuarto de Joakim, hijo de Josías, rey de Judá:
to Egipt, ayens the oost of Farao Nechao, kyng of Egipt, that was bisidis the flood Eufrates, in Charchamys, whom Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, smoot, in the fourthe yeer of Joachym, sone of Josie, kyng of Juda.
3 “Preparad escudo y broquel, y salid a la batalla.
Make ye redi scheeld and targat, and go ye forth to batel.
4 Uncid los caballos; jinetes, montad; poneos en filas con los morriones; acicalad las lanzas, ceñíos las corazas.
Ioyne ye horsis, and stie, ye knyytis; stonde ye in helmes, polische ye speris, clothe ye you in haburiowns.
5 Pero ¿qué veo? Despavoridos vuelven la espalda, batidos sus valientes, huyen apresuradamente, sin mirar atrás, por todos lados terror, dice Yahvé.
What therfor? Y siy hem dredeful, and turnynge the backis, the stronge men of hem slayn; and thei fledden swiftli, and bihelden not; drede was on ech side, seith the Lord.
6 No se libra el ligero ni escapa el valiente. Al norte, junto al río Éufrates, tropiezan y caen.
A swift man schal not fle, and a strong man gesse not hym silf to be saued; at the north, bisidis the flood Eufrates, thei weren ouer comun, and fellen doun.
7 ¿Quién es este que se hincha como el Nilo, y cuyas aguas se alborotan como los ríos?
Who is this, that stieth as a flood, and hise swelewis wexen greet as of floodis?
8 Es Egipto, que se hincha como el Nilo, y cuyas aguas se alborotan como los ríos; que dice: «Me hincharé, cubriré la tierra, destruiré la ciudad y sus habitantes.»
Egipte stiede at the licnesse of a flood, and hise wawis schulen be mouyd as floodis; and it schal seie, Y schal stie, and hile the erthe; Y schal leese the citee, and dwelleris therof.
9 ¡Adelante, caballos! ¡Carros, corred! Pónganse en marcha los guerreros, etíopes y libios, que empuñan el escudo, lidios que manejan y entesan el arco.
Stie ye on horsis, and make ye ful out ioie in charis; and stronge men, come forth, Ethiopie and Libie, holdynge scheeld, and Lidii, takynge and schetynge arowis.
10 Día de venganza es este para el Señor, Yahvé de los ejércitos, para vengarse de sus enemigos. Devorará la espada y se saciará; se embriagará de la sangre de ellos; pues un gran sacrificio celebra Yahvé de los ejércitos, el Señor, en tierras del norte, junto al río Éufrates.
Forsothe that dai of the Lord God of oostis is a dai of veniaunce, that he take veniaunce of hise enemyes; the swerd schal deuoure, and schal be fillid, and schal greetli be fillid with the blood of hem; for whi the slayn sacrifice of the Lord of oostis is in the lond of the north, bisidis the flood Eufrates.
11 ¡Sube a Galaad y busca bálsamo, virgen hija de Egipto! En vano te multiplicarás los remedios; para ti no hay cura.
Thou virgyn, the douyter of Egipt, stie in to Galaad, and take medicyn. In veyn thou schalt multiplie medecyns; helthe schal not be to thee.
12 Las naciones conocen ya tu oprobio; tus alaridos llenan la tierra; chocó el fuerte con el fuerte, y cayeron ambos juntamente.”
Hethene men herden thi schenschipe, and thi yellyng fillide the erthe; for a strong man hurtlide ayens a strong man, and bothe fellen doun togidere.
13 He aquí la palabra que dijo Yahvé al profeta Jeremías, acerca de la venida de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, para derrotar la tierra de Egipto:
The word which the Lord spak to Jeremye, the profete, on that that Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, was to comynge, and to smytynge the lond of Egipt.
14 “Anunciadlo en Egipto, llevad la nueva a Migdol; proclamadlo en Nof y en Tafnis. Decid: «Ponte en pie y prevente, pues ya devora la espada en torno tuyo».
Telle ye to Egipt, and make ye herd in Magdalo, and sowne it in Memphis, and seie ye in Taphnys, Stonde thou, and make thee redi, for a swerd schal deuoure tho thingis that ben bi thi cumpas.
15 ¿Cómo ha sido derribado tu Toro? No se mantuvo en pie, porque Yahvé le derribó.
Whi hath thi strong man wexe rotun? He stood not, for the Lord vndurturnede hym.
16 Él multiplica el número de los que tropiezan, y cayendo unos sobre otros dicen: «¡Levantémonos, volvámonos a nuestro pueblo y a la tierra en que nacimos, huyendo de la espada destructora!»
He multipliede falleris, and a man felle doun to his neiybore; and thei schulen seie, Rise ye, and turne we ayen to oure puple, and to the lond of oure birthe, fro the face of swerd of the culuer.
17 Claman allí: El Faraón, rey de Egipto, está perdido, ha dejado pasar el tiempo fijado.
Clepe ye the name of Farao, kyng of Egipt; the tyme hath brouyt noise.
18 Vivo Yo, dice el Rey, cuyo Nombre es Yahvé de los ejércitos. Como el Tabor entre los montes, y el Carmelo junto al mar, así Él se presenta.
Y lyue, seith the kyng, the Lord of oostis is his name; for it schal come as Thabor in hillis, and as Carmele in the see.
19 Prepárate el bagaje para el cautiverio, oh hija que habitas en Egipto, pues Nof se convertirá en un desierto, será abrasada y quedará sin habitantes.
Thou dwelleresse, the douyter of Egipt, make to thee vessels of passyng ouer; for whi Memfis schal be in to wildirnesse, and schal be forsakun vnhabitable.
20 Novilla muy hermosa es Egipto; pero del Septentrión viene un tábano, sí, ya viene.
Egipt is a schapli cow calf, and fair; a prickere fro the north schal come to it.
21 Y sus mercenarios en medio de ella, que son como becerros cebados, también ellos vuelven las espaldas, huyen todos, sin detenerse, porque vino sobre ellos el día de su ruina, el tiempo de su castigo.
Also the hirid men therof, that liueden as caluys maad fatte in the myddis therof, ben turned, and fledden togidere, and miyten not stonde; for the dai of sleynge of hem schal come on hem, the tyme of the visityng of hem.
22 Su voz es como de sierpe que se desliza; porque vienen con gran poderío, vienen contra ella con hachas, como leñadores de árboles.
The vois of hem schal sowne as of bras, for thei schulen haste with oost, and with axis thei schulen come to it. As men kittynge doun trees thei kittiden doun the forest therof,
23 Talan su bosque, dice Yahvé, su bosque impenetrable, pues son más numerosos que las langostas, y no tienen cuenta.
seith the Lord, which mai not be noumbrid; thei ben multiplied ouer locustis, and no noumbre is in hem.
24 Quedará confundida la hija de Egipto; será entregada en manos del pueblo del Norte.”
The douytir of Egipt is schent, and bitakun in to the hond of the puple of the north,
25 Dice Yahvé de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel: “He aquí que Yo castigaré a Amón de No, al Faraón y a Egipto; a sus dioses y a sus reyes; al Faraón y a los que en él confían.
seide the Lord of oostis, God of Israel. Lo! Y schal visite on the noise of Alisaundre, and on Farao, and on Egipt, and on the goddis therof, and on the kyngis therof, and on hem that tristen in hym.
26 Y los entregaré en manos de los que buscan exterminarlos, en manos de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, y en manos de sus servidores. Mas después de esto será otra vez habitado, como en los tiempos antiguos —oráculo de Yahvé.
And Y schal yyue hem in to the hondis of men that seken the lijf of hem, and in to the hondis of Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, and in to the hondis of hise seruauntis; and aftir these thingis it schal be enhabitid, as in the formere daies, seith the Lord.
27 Pero tú, siervo mío Jacob, no temas; no te amedrentes, oh Israel; porque he aquí que te sacaré de (tierras) lejanas, y a tu descendencia del país de su cautiverio. Volverá Jacob y vivirá en plena tranquilidad, sin que haya quien le espante.
And thou, Jacob, my seruaunt, drede thou not, and Israel, drede thou not; for lo! Y schal make thee saaf fro fer place, and thi seed fro the lond of his caitiftee; and Jacob schal turne ayen, and schal reste, and schal haue prosperite, and noon schal be, that schal make hym aferd.
28 No temas tú, siervo mío Jacob, dice Yahvé; pues Yo estoy contigo. Exterminaré a todas las naciones adonde te he arrojado, pero a ti no te exterminaré, aunque te corregiré con equidad y no te dejaré del todo impune.”
And Jacob, my seruaunt, nyle thou drede, seith the Lord, for Y am with thee; for Y schal waste alle folkis, to whiche Y castide thee out; but Y schal not waste thee, but Y schal chastise thee in doom, and Y schal not spare thee as innocent.
