Isaías 13
1 Oráculo contra Babilonia, que vio Isaías, hijo de Amós:
The oracle on Babylon, —of which Isaiah, son of Amoz had vision: —
2 Sobre un monte pelado alzad bandera, levantad la voz para llamarlos, hacedles señas con la mano, para que entren por las puertas de los príncipes.
Upon a bare mountain, lift ye up a standard, Raise high the voice to them, Wave the hand, That they may enter the doors of nobles.
3 He dado órdenes a mis consagrados; he llamado a mis valientes, para (ejecutar) mi ira; y ellos saltan de gozo por la gloria mía.
I myself, have given charge to my hallowed ones, —Yea I have called My heroes in showing mine anger, My proudly exulting ones.
4 Se oye tumulto sobre los montes como tumulto de mucha gente; voces de alarma de reinos, de naciones reunidas. Yahvé de los ejércitos pasa revista a las tropas de guerra.
The noise of a multitude in the mountains, A resemblance of many people, —The noise of a tumult of kingdoms Nations gathered together, Yahweh of hosts, mustering a host for battle!
5 Vienen de tierra lejana, de los extremos del cielo; Yahvé y los instrumentos de su furor, para asolar la tierra entera.
They are coming in From a land far away. From the utmost bound of the heavens, —Yahweh—with his weapons of indignation, To destroy the land.
6 ¡Aullad, que cercano está el día de Yahvé! vendrá como ruina, de parte del Todopoderoso.
Howl ye! for at hand is the day of Yahweh, —As a veritable destruction from the Almighty, shall it come.
7 Por tanto todos los brazos perderán su vigor, y todos los corazones de los hombres se derretirán.
For this cause—All hands, shall hang down, —and Every mortal heart, melt.
8 Temblarán; convulsiones y dolores se apoderarán de ellos; se lamentarán como mujer parturienta. Cada uno mirará con estupor a su vecino, sus rostros serán rostros de llamas.
And they shall be in distress—Writhings and pains, shall lay hold, As a woman in childbirth, shall they be in pangs, —Everyone, at his neighbour, shall look in amazement, Faces of flames, their faces!
9 He aquí que ha llegado el día de Yahvé, el inexorable, con furor e ira ardiente, para convertir la tierra en desierto y exterminar en ella a los pecadores.
Lo! the day of Yahweh, coming in, Fierce and overflowing, and burning with anger, —To devote the earth to desolation, And her sinners, will he destroy out of it.
10 Pues las estrellas del cielo y sus constelaciones no darán más su luz, el sol se oscurecerá al nacer, y la luna no hará resplandecer su luz.
For the stars of the heavens and their constellations, shall not flash forth their light, —Obscured shall be the sun in his going forth, And the moon, shall not shed her light.
11 Entonces castigaré al mundo por su malicia, y a los impíos por su iniquidad; acabaré con la arrogancia de los soberbios y abatiré la altivez de los opresores.
And I will visit, upon the inhabited earth, calamity!, And upon the lawless, their punishment, And will quiet the arrogance of the proud, And the loftiness of tyrants, will I lay low.
12 Haré que los hombres sean más escasos que el oro fino, y los hijos de Adán más raros que el oro de Ofir.
I will cause, a man, to be more precious than fine gold, —Even a son of earth than, the finest gold of Ophir.
13 Por eso sacudiré los cielos, y la tierra se moverá de su lugar, por el furor de Yahvé de los ejércitos, en el día de su ardiente ira.
For this cause, the heavens, will I disturb, And, the earth, shall tremble out of her place, —In the wrath of Yahweh of hosts, And in the day of the glow of his anger.
14 Entonces cual gacela perseguida, y como ovejas sin redil; se dirigirá cada uno a su pueblo, y huirá cada cual a su tierra.
And it shall be—Like a gazelle that is chased, And like a sheep with none to lift it up, —Each, to his own people, will they turn, And, each, to his own land, will they flee:
15 Todos cuantos fueren hallados serán traspasados, y todos los que cayeren presos morirán a cuchillo.
Every one found, shall be thrust through, —And, every one taken, shall fall by the sword;
16 Sus niños serán estrellados ante sus ojos, saqueadas sus casas, y violadas sus mujeres.
And, their infants, shall be dashed to the ground, before their eyes, —Plundered shall be, their houses, and their wives ravished.
17 He aquí que suscitaré contra ellos a los medos que no buscan plata ni son codiciosos de oro.
Behold me! stirring up against them the Medes, —Who of silver, shall take no account, And as for gold, they shall not delight in it;
18 Con sus arcos matarán a los jóvenes, no tendrán piedad del fruto del seno, y sus ojos no se compadecerán de los niños.
And, bows, shall dash the young to pieces, —And on the fruit of the womb, will they have no pity, Over children, will their eye throw no shield.
19 Entonces Babilonia, la joya de los reinos, gloria y orgullo de los caldeos, vendrá a ser como Sodoma y Gomorra, (ciudades) destruidas por Dios.
Thus shall Babylon—The most lovely of kingdoms, The majestic beauty of the Chaldees—Become as in the divine overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah.
20 Nunca jamás será habitada, ni poblada de generación en generación; no alzará allí el nómada su tienda; ni harán en ella majada los pastores.
It shall not be dwelt in for ever, Neither shall it be inhabited from generation to generation, —Neither shall encamp there, an Arab, Nor, shepherds, fold their flocks there.
21 Se guarecerán allí las fieras del desierto; los búhos llenarán sus casas; se instalarán allí los avestruces, y los sátiros harán allí sus danzas.
Then shall lie down there, wild beasts, And filled shall be their houses with owls, —Then shall inhabit there, the ostrich, And shaggy creatures, shall dance there.
22 En sus palacios aullarán los chacales, y los perros salvajes en sus casas de placer. Próximo a llegar está su tiempo, y sus días no se aplazarán.
And jackals shall answer, in their citadels, And wild dogs, in their voluptuous palaces, —And near to come is her time, And, her days, shall not be delayed.
