Ezequiel 22
1 Me fue dirigida la palabra de Yahvé, que dijo:
And the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:
2 “Tú, hijo de hombre, ¿no vas a juzgar? ¿No quieres juzgar a la ciudad sanguinaria? ¿No le mostrarás todas sus abominaciones?
Thou therefore son of man, Wilt thou judge wilt thou judge the city of bloodshed; and cause her to know all her abominations?
3 Dirás: Así habla Yahvé, el Señor: Tú eres una ciudad, la cual derrama sangre dentro de sus propios muros, hasta que llegue su día, y que ha fabricado ídolos contra sí misma para contaminarse.
Thou shalt say then Thus saith My Lord. Yahweh, A city shedding blood in her own midst That her time might come, Therefore hath she been making manufactured gods for herself, to be defiled.
4 Por la sangre que has derramado, te has hecho culpable, y con los ídolos que has hecho te has contaminado; has apresurado tus días de castigo y has llegado al término de tus años. Por eso te he convertido en el oprobio de los gentiles y en el escarnio de todos los países.
Because of the blood which thou hast shed, hast thou become guilty. And with the manufactured gods which thou hast made, hast thou defiled thyself, Thus hast thou brought near thy days, And hast come unto thy years, — For this cause, have I delivered thee As a reproach to the nations, And as a derision to all the lands.
5 Los que están cerca de ti y los que están lejos, te insultan, porque con tu grande corrupción has manchado tu nombre.
They who are near and they who are far off from thee shall shew themselves derisive over thee, — O thou of impure name, abounding in confusion!
6 He aquí que los príncipes de Israel, cada cual según su poder, no hacen otra cosa que derramar sangre en medio de ti.
Lo! the princes of Israel, every man for his own arm, have they been in thee, For the sake of shedding blood.
7 En ti se desprecia al padre y a la madre, y en ti tratan con violencia al extranjero, en ti oprimen al huérfano y a la viuda.
Father and mother, have they despised in thee, To the sojourner, have they dealt with oppression in the midst of thee, — The fatherless and the widow, have they maltreated in thee:
8 Tu desprecias mi santuario y profanas mis sábados.
My holy things, hast thou despised, - And my sabbaths, hast thou profaned:
9 Hay en ti hombres que usan de calumnias para derramar sangre, y en ti hay quienes banquetean sobre los montes; crímenes se cometen en medio de ti.
Slanders, have arisen in thee For the sake of shedding blood, - And unto the mountains, have they eaten in thee, Lewdness, have they practised in the midst of thee:
10 En ti se descubre la desnudez del padre, y en ti se hace violencia a la mujer en la inmundicia de su impureza.
A father’s shame hath been uncovered in thee, Her that was unclean in her removal, have they humbled in thee;
11 En ti uno comete abominación con la mujer de su prójimo, otro amancilla incestuosamente a su nuera, y otro hace violencia a su hermana, la hija de su padre.
And, one man, with the wife of his neighbour, hath wrought abomination, And another, hath defiled, his daughter-in-law, by shameful deed, — And another, his own sister daughter of his own father, hath humbled in thee:
12 En ti aceptan soborno para derramar sangre; tú cobras usura e interés, despojas a tus vecinos por medio de opresión, y a Mí me echaste en olvido, dice Yahvé, el Señor.
Bribes, have they accepted in thee, For the sake of shedding blood, -Interest and increase, hast thou accepted And thou hast overreached thy neighbour by oppression, And me, hast thou forgotten, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.
13 He aquí que Yo he batido mis palmas a causa de las ganancias injustas que has hecho y por la sangre que se ha derramado en ti.
Lo! therefore I have smitten my hand, At thine unjust gain which thou hast made— And over thy bloodshed, which they have caused in thy midst.
14 ¿Podrá mantenerse firme tu corazón, o serán fuertes tus manos en los días que Yo te preparo? Yo, Yahvé, he hablado y cumpliré.
Can thy heart endure or can thy hands be strong in the days when I am dealing with thee? I. Yahweh have spoken and will perform.
15 Yo te dispersaré entre los gentiles, te desparramaré por los países y quitaré de ti tu inmundicia.
Therefore will I disperse thee among the nations, And scatter thee throughout the lands, — And will cause to cease thine impurity out of thee;
16 Serás profanada en tu propio país, a la vista de los gentiles; y conocerás que Yo soy Yahvé.”
So shalt thou be profaned in thyself, before the eyes of nations, Thus shalt thou know that, I, am Yahweh.
17 Y me llegó la palabra de Yahvé en estos términos.
Then came the word of Yahweh unto me, saying:
18 “Hijo de hombre, la casa de Israel se me ha convertido en escoria; todos ellos son bronce, estaño, hierro y plomo en medio del horno; no son más que escoria de plata.
Son of man, The house of Israel hath become to me, dross, — They all are copper and tin and iron and lead in the midst of a furnace, The dross of silver, have they become.
19 Por eso, así dice Yahvé, el Señor: Porque habéis venido a ser todos como escoria, por tanto, he aquí que Yo os recogeré en medio de Jerusalén.
Therefore, Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, Because ye all are become dross, Therefore, behold me! gathering you into the midst of Jerusalem:
20 Como quien reúne plata y bronce y hierro y plomo y estaño en medio del horno, y sopla allí el fuego para fundirlos, así Yo os juntaré en mi ira y mi indignación; os dejaré allí y os fundiré.
As they gather silver and copper and iron and lead and tin into the midst of a furnace, to blow upon it the fire to melt it, So, will I gather in mine anger and in mine indignation, and will let be and will melt you;
21 Os reuniré y soplaré sobre vosotros el fuego de mi ira, y en medio de (Jerusalén) seréis fundidos.
Yea I will gather you together, and blow upon you, with the fire of my wrath, — And ye shall be melted in the midst thereof:
22 Como se derrite la plata en el horno, así seréis derretidos en medio de ella; y conoceréis que Yo, Yahvé, he derramado mi ira sobre vosotros.”
As silver is melted in he midst of a furnace, So, shall ye be melted in the midst thereof, — Then shall ye know that, I Yahweh, have poured out mine indignation upon you.
23 Me fue dirigida la palabra de Yahvé, que dijo:
And the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:
24 “Hijo de hombre, dile a ella: Tú eres una tierra que no ha sido purificada y no ha sido lavada por la lluvia en el día de la indignación.
Son of man, say to her. Thou, art a land, that is not to be rained upon, nor to receive fruitful showers, in the day of indignation.
25 Hay en medio de ella una conjuración de sus profetas. Como león rugiente que arrebata la presa, así devoran ellos las almas, se apoderan de los bienes y tesoros y multiplican el número de viudas en medio de ella.
Because her princes in her midst are like a roaring lion rending prey, — Life, have they devoured Wealth and precious things, have they been wont to take, Her widows, have they multiplied in her midst.
26 Sus sacerdotes violan mi Ley y profanan mi Santuario, no distinguen entre lo sagrado y lo profano, no enseñan a distinguir entre lo inmundo y lo puro, cierran sus ojos ante (las violaciones de) mis sábados, y Yo soy deshonrado entre ellos.
Her priests have done violence to my law And have profaned my holy things, Between the hallowed and the common, have they put no difference, And between the unclean and clean, have they not taught men to discern, - And from my sabbaths, have they hid their eyes, So that I have been profaned in their midst.
27 Sus príncipes están en medio de ella como lobos: arrebatan la presa para derramar sangre y destruir almas, con el fin de obtener ganancias injustas.
Her rulers within her have been like wolves, rending prey, - In shedding blood In destroying lives, For the sake of getting dishonest gain.
28 Sus profetas los revocan con barro, viendo vanidades y vaticinándoles mentiras, diciendo: «Así dice Yahvé, el Señor», cuando Yahvé no ha hablado.
And her prophets have coated it for them with whitewash, Seeing visions of falsehood And divining for them lies, Saying, Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, when Yahweh, hath not spoken.
29 El pueblo del país practica la opresión y el robo, oprimiendo al pobre y al menesteroso y haciendo violencia e injusticia al extranjero.
The people of the land have exacted oppression, and seized plunder, - Even the afflicted and the needy, have they maltreated, And the sojourner have they oppressed without justice.
30 Busqué entre ellos un varón que construyese un vallado, y que se pusiese en la brecha frente a Mí, en favor de la tierra, a fin de que Yo no la devastase; mas no lo hallé.
Then sought I from among them, a man Who could build up a wall And stand in the breach before me in behalf of the land So that I might not destroy her, — But I found none.
31 Por eso derramaré sobre ellos mi cólera, los consumiré con el fuego de mi ira y echaré sus obras sobre su cabeza”, dice Yahvé, el Señor.
Therefore have I poured out upon them mine indignation, In the fire of mine outburst, have I consumed them, — Their way, upon their own head, have I placed Declareth, My Lord Yahweh.
