Ezequiel 15

1 Me fue dirigida la palabra de Yahvé en estos términos:

And the word of the Lord was maad to me,

2 “Hijo de hombre, ¿qué ventaja tiene la vid sobre cualquier otra madera, sobre todos los sarmientos que hay entre los árboles del bosque?

and he seide, Sone of man, what schal be don to the tre of a vyne, of alle the trees of woodis, that ben among the trees of woodis?

3 ¿Acaso se tomará de ella madera para hacer obra alguna? ¿O se hace de ella una estaca para colgar de ella un objeto?

Whether tymbre schal be takun therof, that werk be maad? ether shal a stake be maad therof, that ony vessel hange ther onne?

4 He aquí que se echa al fuego para ser devorada; el fuego consume sus dos cabos, y también lo de en medio se quema. ¿Servirá acaso para obra alguna?

Lo! it is youun in to mete; fier wastide euer eithir part therof, and the myddis therof is dryuun in to deed sparcle; whether it schal be profitable to werk?

5 Si estando incólume no servía para ninguna obra, ¡cuánto menos luego de consumida por el fuego y quemada servirá para una obra!

Yhe, whanne it was hool, it was not couenable to werk; hou myche more whanne fier hath deuourid, and hath brent it, no thing of werk schal be maad therof?

6 Por eso, así dice Yahvé, el Señor: Lo que se hace con el leño de la vid entre las maderas del bosque, la cual Yo entrego como pasto al fuego, así haré con los habitantes de Jerusalén.

Therfor the Lord God seith thes thingis, As the tre of a vyne is among the trees of woodis, which Y yaf to fier to deuoure, so Y yaf the dwelleris of Jerusalem,

7 Volveré contra ellos mi rostro: de un fuego han escapado, y (otro) fuego los consumirá; y conoceréis que Yo soy Yahvé cuando vuelva mi rostro contra ellos.

and Y schal sette my face ayens hem. Thei schulen go out of the fier, and fier schal waaste hem; and ye schulen wite, that Y am the Lord, whanne Y schal sette my face ayens hem,

8 Y convertiré el país en un desierto, por cuanto se rebelaron contra Mí”, dice Yahvé, el Señor.

and schal yyue the lond with out weie and desolat, for thei weren trespassours, seith the Lord God.
