Deuteronomio 32
1 Escuchad, oh cielos, que yo hablaré; oiga la tierra las palabras de mi boca.
Hearken, ye heauens, and I will speake: and let the earth heare the words of my mouth.
2 Descienda, como lluvia, mi doctrina; destile mi palabra cual rocío, cual llovizna sobre la hierba, como gotas de agua sobre el césped.
My doctrine shall drop as the raine, and my speach shall stil as the dew, as the showre vpon the herbes, and as the great raine vpon the grasse.
3 Pues celebraré el nombre de Yahvé; ¡dad gloria a nuestro Dios!
For I will publish the name of the Lord: giue ye glorie vnto our God.
4 Él es la Roca, perfecta es su obra, justos son todos sus caminos; es un Dios fiel y sin iniquidad; justo y recto es Él.
Perfect is the worke of the mighty God: for all his wayes are iudgement. God is true, and without wickednesse: iust, and righteous is he.
5 Prevaricaron contra Él los que por sus inmundicias ya no son hijos suyos, una generación depravada y perversa.
They haue corrupted them selues towarde him by their vice, not being his children, but a frowarde and crooked generation.
6 ¡Así retribuís a Yahvé, oh pueblo necio e insensato! ¿No es Él tu padre que te adquirió tu creador, tu fundador?
Doe ye so rewarde the Lord, O foolish people and vnwise? is not he thy father, that hath bought thee? he hath made thee, and proportioned thee.
7 Acuérdate de los tiempos antiguos; considerad los años, generación tras generación; pregunta a tu padre, y él te lo anunciará; a tus ancianos y ellos te lo dirán.
Remember the dayes of olde: consider the yeeres of so many generations: aske thy father, and he will shewe thee: thine Elders, and they will tell thee.
8 Cuando el que mora en lo alto dio a cada nación su posesión, cuando dividió a los hijos de los hombres, fijó los límites de los pueblos según el número de los hijos de Israel.
When the most hie God deuided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sonnes of Adam, he appoynted the borders of the people, according to the nomber of the children of Israel.
9 Pues la porción de Yahvé es su pueblo, Jacob la herencia peculiar suya.
For the Lordes portion is his people: Iaakob is the lot of his inheritance.
10 Lo halló en una tierra desierta, en la soledad, entre aullidos salvajes; y rodeándolo por todas partes lo cuidó, y lo guardó como a la niña de sus ojos.
He found him in ye land of ye wildernes, in a waste, and roaring wildernes: he led him about, he taught him, and kept him as ye apple of his eye.
11 Como el águila vigila sobre su nido cuando revolotea sobre sus polluelos, extiende sus alas, los toma, y los lleva sobre sus alas;
As an eagle stereth vp her nest, flootereth ouer her birdes, stretcheth out her wings, taketh them, and beareth them on her wings,
12 así Yahvé solo lo conducía no estaba con él dios ajeno.
So the Lord alone led him, and there was no strange god with him.
13 Le hizo escalar las alturas de la tierra, para que comiera los frutos del campo; le dio a sorber miel de la peña, y aceite de la durísima roca,
He caryed him vp to the hie places of the earth, that he might eate the fruites of the fieldes, and he caused him to sucke hony out of the stone, and oyle out of the hard rocke:
14 manteca de vacas y leche de ovejas, con pingües corderos, carneros de Basan y machos cabríos, con lo más escogido del trigo; y bebiste la sangre espumante de la uva.
Butter of kine, and milke of sheepe with fat of the lambes, and rammes fed in Bashan, and goates, with the fat of the graines of wheat, and the red licour of the grape hast thou drunke.
15 Mas engordó Yeschurún, y dio coces; — ¡engordaste, engrosaste, te hinchaste!— y abandonó a Dios su Hacedor, despreciando la Roca de su salvación.
But he that should haue bene vpright, when he waxed fat, spurned with his heele: thou art fat, thou art grosse, thou art laden with fatnes: therefore he forsooke God that made him, and regarded not the strong God of his saluation.
16 Le provocaron con dioses extraños; con abominaciones incitaron su ira.
They prouoked him with strange gods: they prouoked him to anger with abominations.
17 Ofrecían sacrificios a los demonios, que no son Dios, a dioses que no habían conocido, a nuevos y recién venidos, que no adoraron vuestros padres.
They offred vnto deuils, not to God, but to gods whome they knew not: new gods that came newly vp, whome their fathers feared not.
18 Abandonaste la Roca que te engendró, diste al olvido a Dios que te dio el ser.
Thou hast forgotten the mightie God that begate thee, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.
19 Lo vio Yahvé y sintió asco, pues sus hijos y sus hijas le provocaron.
The Lord then sawe it, and was angrie, for the prouocation of his sonnes and of his daughters.
20 Y dijo: “Les esconderé mi rostro, veré cuál será su fin; es una raza perversa, hijos desleales.
And he said, I will hide my face from the: I will see what their ende shalbe: for they are a frowarde generation, children in who is no faith.
21 Han provocado mis celos con no-dioses, me han irritado con sus ídolos. Por eso provocaré sus celos con aquellos que no son pueblo; con una nación necia los irritaré.
They haue moued me to ielousie with that which is not God: they haue prouoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will moue them to ielousie with those which are no people: I wil prouoke them to anger with a foolish nation.
22 Se ha encendido el fuego de mi ira, que arderá hasta lo más hondo del infierno, devorando la tierra con sus productos, y abrasando los cimientos de los montes. (Sheol h7585)
For fire is kindled in my wrath, and shall burne vnto the bottome of hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountaines. (Sheol h7585)
23 Males quiero amontonar sobre ellos, agotar contra ellos mis flechas.
I will spend plagues vpon them: I will bestowe mine arrowes vpon them.
24 Los consumirá el hambre, y los devorará la ardiente fiebre, la amarga pestilencia. Enviaré contra ellos dientes de fieras y el veneno de las (serpientes) que se arrastran por el polvo.
They shalbe burnt with hunger, and consumed with heate, and with bitter destruction: I will also sende the teeth of beastes vpon them, with the venime of serpents creeping in the dust.
25 Por fuera los destruirá la espada, y dentro de la casa el espanto, lo mismo al joven como a la doncella, al niño de pecho como al anciano.
The sworde shall kill them without, and in the chambers feare: both the yong man and the yong woman, the suckeling with the man of gray heare.
26 Quisiera decir: “Los aniquilaré; haré cesar de entre los hombres su memoria”,
I haue said, I would scatter them abroade: I would make their remembrance to cease from among men,
27 si no temiera la arrogancia del enemigo; pues lo verían sus adversarios; y dirían: “Nuestra mano ha prevalecido, no es Yahvé quien ha hecho todo esto.”
Saue that I feared the furie of the enemie, least their aduersaries should waxe proude, and least they should say, Our hie hande and not the Lord hath done all this:
28 Pues es gente sin inteligencia, y no hay en ellos entendimiento.
For they are a nation voide of counsel, neither is there any vnderstanding in them.
29 ¡Oh si fueran sabios para entenderlo y comprender lo que les espera!
Oh that they were wise, then they would vnderstand this: they would consider their latter ende.
30 ¿Cómo puede perseguir uno a mil, y dos espantar a diez mil, si no porque su Roca los ha vendido, y Yahvé los ha entregado?
How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousande to flight, except their strong God had sold the, and the Lord had shut them vp?
31 Pues no es la Roca nuestra como la suya; los mismos enemigos lo testifican.
For their god is not as our God, euen our enemies being iudges.
32 Porque su vid es de la vid de Sodoma y de las campiñas de Gomorra; sus uvas son uvas venenosas, y llenos de amargura sus racimos.
For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the vines of Gomorah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters be bitter.
33 Veneno de dragones es su vino, ponzoña terrible de áspides.
Their wine is the poyson of dragons, and the cruel gall of aspes.
34 ¿No tengo Yo esto guardado conmigo, sellado entre mis tesoros?
Is not this laide in store with me, and sealed vp among my treasures?
35 Mía es la venganza y la retribución; a su tiempo resbalará su pie; pues el día de su ruina está cerca, su destino viene volando.
Vengeance and recompence are mine: their foote shall slide in due time: for the day of their destruction is at hand, and the things that shall come vpon them, make haste.
36 Pues Yahvé juzga a su pueblo, y se compadecerá de sus siervos, cuando vea que ya no tienen fuerza y no les queda ni esclavo ni libre.
For the Lord shall iudge his people, and repent towarde his seruants, when hee seeth that their power is gone, and none shut vp in holde nor left abroad.
37 Entonces dirá: ¿Dónde están sus dioses, la Roca en que se refugiaron?
When men shall say, Where are their gods, their mighty God in whome they trusted,
38 (¿Dónde están esos dioses), que comían la grosura de sus sacrificios, y bebían el vino de sus libaciones? ¡Levántense y vengan a socorreros, y sean ellos vuestro amparo!
Which did eate the fat of their sacrifices, and did drinke the wine of their drinke offring? let them rise vp, and help you: let him be your refuge.
39 Ved ahora que soy Yo, y solo Yo, y no hay dioses junto a Mí; Yo soy quien doy la muerte y doy la vida; Yo hiero y Yo sano, y no hay quien se libre de mi mano.
Behold now, for I, I am he, and there is no gods with me: I kill, and giue life: I wound, and I make whole: neither is there any that can deliuer out of mine hand.
40 Porque alzando al cielo mi mano, digo: “Por mi vida eterna:
For I lift vp mine hand to heauen, and say, I liue for euer.
41 Cuando afile el rayo de mi espada, y mi mano empuñe el juicio, tomaré venganza de mis enemigos, y daré el pago a los que me odian.
If I whet my glittering sworde, and mine hand take holde on iudgement, I will execute vengeance on mine enemies, and will rewarde them that hate me.
42 Embriagaré de sangre mis saetas, y mi espada comerá carne, la sangre de muertos y de cautivos, y las cabezas de los caudillos enemigos.”
I will make mine arrowes drunke with blood, (and my sword shall eate flesh) for the blood of the slaine, and of the captiues, when I beginne to take vengeance of the enemie.
43 Ensalzad, oh naciones, a su pueblo, porque Él vengará la sangre de sus siervos; tomará venganza de sus enemigos, y espulgará a su tierra, a su pueblo.
Ye nations, praise his people: for he will auenge the blood of his seruants, and will execute vengeance vpon his aduersaries, and will bee mercifull vnto his lande, and to his people.
44 Fue, pues, Moisés, y dijo todas las palabras de este cántico a oídos del pueblo él con Josué, hijo de Nun.
Then Moses came and spake all ye words of this song in the audience of the people, he and Hoshea the sonne of Nun.
45 Y cuando Moisés hubo acabado de comunicar todas estas palabras a todo Israel,
When Moses had made an end of speaking all these wordes to all Israel,
46 les dijo: “Fijad vuestro corazón en todas estas palabras que hoy os he proclamado, Los prescribiréis a vuestros hijos, a fin de que cuiden de poner por obra todas las palabras de esta Ley.
Then hee said vnto them, Set your heartes vnto all the wordes which I testifie against you this day, that ye may commande them vnto your children, that they may obserue and doo all the wordes of this Lawe.
47 Porque no es cosa inútil para vosotros, es vuestra vida; por medio de esta palabra prolongaréis vuestros días sobre la tierra en cuya posesión vais a entrar, pasando el Jordán.”
For it is no vaine worde concerning you, but it is your life, and by this worde ye shall prolong your dayes in the land, whither yee go ouer Iorden to possesse it.
48 En aquel día habló Yahvé a Moisés, diciendo:
And the Lord spake vnto Moses the selfe same day, saying,
49 “Sube a esta montaña de Abarim, al monte Nebo, que está en el país de Moab, frente a Jericó; y mira la tierra de Canaán, que voy a dar en posesión a los hijos de Israel.
Goe vp into the mountaine of Abarim, vnto the mount Nebo, which is in the lande of Moab, that is ouer against Iericho: and beholde the lande of Canaan, which I giue vnto the children of Israel for a possession,
50 En el monte al que has de subir morirás y serás reunido con tu pueblo; así como murió Aarón, tu hermano, en el monte Hor, y fue reunido con su pueblo.
And die in the mount which thou goest vp vnto, and thou shalt be gathered vnto thy people, as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered vnto his people,
51 Porque habéis pecado contra Mí en medio de los hijos de Israel, junto a las aguas de Meribá, en Cades, en el desierto de Sin y porque no me glorificasteis en medio de los hijos de Israel.
Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel, at the waters of Meribah, at Kadesh in the wildernesse of Zin: for ye sanctified me not among the children of Israel.
52 Verás delante de ti la tierra que Yo voy a dar a los hijos de Israel, pero no entrarás en ella.”
Thou shalt therefore see the lande before thee, but shalt not go thither, I meane, into the land which I giue the children of Israel.
