Deuteronomio 23

1 No entrará en la comunidad de Yahvé el hombre que tenga los testículos majados o cuyo miembro genital haya sido cortado,

Neither he that hath been mutilated by crushing, nor he that hath had his privy member cut off, shall enter into the convocation of Yahweh.

2 no entrará en la comunidad de Yahvé ningún bastardo; ni siquiera en la décima generación entrará en ella.

A bastard shall not enter into the convocation of Yahweh, —even to the tenth generation, shall none of his enter into the convocation of Yahweh.

3 No entrará en la comunidad de Yahvé amonita ni moabita, ni siquiera en la décima generación entrarán en ella; jamás entrarán;

Neither an Ammonite nor a Moabite shall enter into the convocation of Yahweh, —even to the tenth generation, shall none that belong to them enter into the convocation of Yahweh, unto times age-abiding:

4 porque no vinieron a vuestro encuentro con pan y agua en el camino cuando salisteis de Egipto, sino que sobornaron contra ti a Balaam, hijo de Beor, de Petor de Mesopotamia, para que te maldijera.

because they met you not with bread and water, in the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt, —but hired against thee Balaam son of Beor from Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.

5 Pero Yahvé, tu Dios, no quiso escuchar a Balaam; antes Yahvé tu Dios, te convirtió la maldición en bendición; pues Yahvé, tu Dios, te ama.

Nevertheless, Yahweh thy God consented not to hearken unto Balaam, but Yahweh thy God turned, for thee, the curse into a blessing, —because Yahweh thy God loved thee.

6 No buscarás jamás su paz ni su bienestar en todos sus días.

Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their welfare, —all thy days, unto times age-abiding.

7 No abominarás al idumeo, porque es tu hermano. No abominarás al egipcio, porque fuiste peregrino en su tierra.

Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite, for thy brother, he is, —thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian, for a sojourner, becamest thou in his land;

8 Los hijos nacidos de ellos en la tercera generación, podrán entrar en la comunidad de Yahvé.

the sons who are born to them, of the third generation, may enter unto them in the convocation of Yahweh.

9 Cuando salgas a campaña contra tus enemigos, guárdate de toda cosa indecente,

When thou goest forth into camp against thine enemies, then shalt thou beware of everything foul.

10 Si hubiere en medio de ti alguno que se (haya) hecho inmundo por algo que le sucedió de noche, salga fuera del campamento y no vuelva al campamento,

When there is in thy midst a man who is not clean through a mischance of the night, then shall he go forth unto the outside of the camp, he shall not come into the midst of the camp;

11 hasta que al caer la tarde se haya lavado con agua, y a la puesta del sol regresará al campamento.

but it shall be, when the evening cometh on, he shall bathe himself in water, —and at the going in of the sun, he shall come into the midst of the camp.

12 Además tendrás fuera del campamento un lugar, adonde podrás salir.

And a place aside, shalt thou have, without the camp, —whither thou canst go forth abroad;

13 Tendrás también en tu equipo una estaca, con la cual harás un hoyo cuando te sentares fuera, y antes de volverte cubrirás tus excrementos.

and a blade, shalt thou have upon thy staff, —so shall it be, that when thou wouldest sit down outside, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which hath passed from thee:

14 Porque Yahvé, tu Dios, anda en medio de tu campamento para protegerte y entregar tus enemigos delante de ti; por eso tu campamento ha de ser santo, para que Él no vea en ti cosas vergonzosas y no te abandone.

for, Yahweh thy God, walketh to and fro in the midst of thy camp, to rescue thee, and to deliver up thine enemies before thee, so shall thy camps be holy, —and he shall see in thee no shameful thing, that he should turn away from following thee.

15 No entregarás a su amo, esclavo que se haya refugiado contigo, huyendo de su amo.

Thou shalt not deliver up a slave unto his lord, —one who maketh his escape unto thee, from his lord:

16 Habitará contigo, en medio de ti, en cualquier lugar que eligiere, en algunas de tus ciudades que le gustare; no le oprimirás.

with thee, shall he remain in thy midst, in the place which he shall choose in any of thy gates where it seemeth good to him, —thou shalt not oppress him.

17 No haya prostituta entre las hijas de Israel; tampoco haya prostituto entre los hijos de Israel.

There shall be no female devotee of the daughters of Israel, —neither shall there be, a male devotee, of the sons of Israel.

18 No lleves a la Casa de Yahvé, tu Dios, las ganancias de la ramera, ni el salario del perro, para cumplir un voto, pues ambos son objeto de abominación ante Yahvé, tu Dios.

Thou shalt not bring the wages of an unchaste woman, or the hire of a dog, into the house of Yahweh thy God for any vow, —for, an abomination unto Yahweh thy God, are they both.

19 No exijas de tu hermano interés alguno por el dinero, ni interés por comestibles, ni interés por ninguna otra cosa, por las cuales se suele tomar interés.

Thou shalt not lend on interest to thy brother, interest of silver, interest of food, —interest of any thing that can be lent on interest:

20 Del extranjero podrás exigirlo, mas no lo exijas de tu hermano; para que Yahvé, tu Dios, te bendiga en toda empresa de tu mano en la tierra adónde vas para tomarla en posesión.

to a foreigner, thou mayest lend on interest, but to thy brother, shalt thou not lend on interest, —that Yahweh thy God may bless thee, in everything where-unto thou puttest thy hand, upon the land which thou art entering to possess.

21 Cuando hagas algún voto a Yahvé, tu Dios, no tardes en cumplirlo, porque Yahvé, tu Dios, sin falta te lo reclamará y te cargarías con un pecado.

When thou shalt vow a vow unto Yahweh thy God, thou shalt not delay to make it good, —for Yahweh thy God would, require, it of thee, and it should be in thee sin.

22 Si te abstienes de hacer voto, no cometas pecado.

But, if thou refrain from vowing, it shall not be in thee sin.

23 Pero lo que una vez salió de tus labios, lo cumplirás y ejecutarás, conforme al voto libremente hecho a Yahvé, tu Dios, que prometiste con tu boca.

That which goeth forth out of thy lips, thou must observe and do, —according as thou didst vow unto Yahweh thy God the free-will, offering of which thou didst speak with thy mouth.

24 Cuando entrares en la viña de tu prójimo, podrás comer uvas según tu apetito, hasta saciarte, mas no las pondrás en tu cesta.

When thou enterest into the vineyard of thy neighbour, then mayest thou eat grapes at thy pleasure to thy fill, -but into thy vessel, shalt thou put none.

25 Cuando entrares en la mies de tu prójimo, podrás arrancar espigas con tu mano; mas no meterás la hoz en la mies de tu prójimo.

When thou enterest the standing corn of thy neighbour, thou mayest pluck off ears with thy hand, —but a sickle, shalt thou not wield against the standing corn of thy neighbour.
