2 Reyes 9
1 El profeta Eliseo llamó a uno de los discípulos de los profetas, y le dijo: “Cíñete los lomos, toma esta redoma de óleo en tu mano y anda a Ramot- Galaad.
Now, Elisha the prophet, called one of the sons of the prophets, —and said to him—Gird up thy loins, and take this flask of oil in thy hand, and go to Ramoth-gilead;
2 Llegado allá buscaras a Jehú, hijo de Josafat; hijo de Namsi; y luego que entres lo invitarás que se levante de en medio de sus compañeros, y lo llevarás a un aposento retirado.
and, when thou art come in thither, then look thee out, there, Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi; and thou shalt enter and get him to rise up out of the midst of his brethren, and take him into an inner chamber;
3 Allí tomarás la redoma de óleo y lo derramarás sobre su cabeza, diciendo: Así dice Yahvé: «Yo te unjo por rey de Israel.» Después abrirás la puerta y huirás sin tardar.”
then shalt thou take the flask of oil, and pour out upon his head, and say—Thus, saith Yahweh, I have anointed thee to be king unto Israel! Then shalt thou open the door and flee, and not tarry.
4 Partió, pues, el joven, criado del profeta, para Ramot-Galaad;
So the young man went his way—the young man the prophet—unto Ramoth-gilead.
5 y llegado que hubo, vio a los jefes del ejército reunidos y dijo: “Tengo que decirte una palabra, oh jefe.” Preguntó Jehú: “¿A quién de todos nosotros?” Respondió: “A ti, oh jefe.”
And, when he came up, lo! the captains of the force, sitting, and he said—A word, have I, for thee, O captain! And Jehu said—For which, of us all? And he said, —For thee, O captain!
6 Entonces se levantó (Jehú), y entró en la casa; y el (joven) derramó sobre su cabeza el óleo y le dijo: “Así dice Yahvé, el Dios de Israel: Yo te unjo por rey sobre el pueblo de Yahvé, sobre Israel.
Then rose he up and went inside, and poured out the oil upon his head, and said unto him—Thus, saith Yahweh, God of Israel, I have anointed thee to be king unto the people of Yahweh, unto Israel;
7 Tú destruirás la casa de Acab, tu señor, y Yo vengaré en Jezabel la sangre de mis siervos los profetas y la sangre de todos los siervos de Yahvé.
and thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy lord, —so will I avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of Yahweh, at the hand of Jezebel;
8 Perecerá toda la casa de Acab; exterminaré de (la casa de) Acab a todos los varones, tanto a los esclavos como a los libres en Israel,
so shall perish all the house of Ahab, —and I will cut off to Ahab the meanest, both him that is shut up and him that is left at large, in Israel.
9 trataré la casa de Acab como la casa de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, y como la casa de Baasá, hijo de Ahías.
Yea I will deliver up the house of Ahab, like the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat, —and like the house of Baasha son of Ahijah:
10 Y a Jezabel la comerán los perros en el campo de Jesreel, y no habrá nadie quien la entierre.” Dicho esto abrió la puerta y echó a huir.
And, as for Jezebel, the dogs shall eat [her], in the town-land of Jezreel, there being none to bury her. And he opened the door, and fled.
11 Jehú volvió adonde estaban los siervos de su señor; y uno le preguntó: “¿Va (todo) bien? ¿Para qué vino a verte ese loco?” Entonces les dijo: “Vosotros conocéis ya a ese hombre y lo que suele hablar.”
Then, Jehu, came forth unto the servants of his lord, and one said to him—Is all well? why came this madman unto thee? And he said unto them, Ye, know, the man and his message.
12 Dijeron ellos: “De ninguna manera. ¡Cuéntanoslo!” Y él respondió: “De tal y tal manera habló conmigo diciendo: Así dice Yahvé: «Yo te unjo por rey de Israel.»”
And they said—False! pray tell, us. And he said, —Thus and thus, spake he unto me, saying, Thus, saith Yahweh, I have anointed thee to be king unto Israel.
13 Entonces ellos se apresuraron a tomar cada uno su vestido, y poniéndolo debajo de él, sobre el macizo de las gradas, tocaron las trompetas y gritaron: “¡Jehú es rey!”
Then hasted they, and took, every man his garment, and put it under him, upon the very steps, —and blew with a horn, and said, Jehu, is king!
14 Conspiró, pues, Jehú, hijo de Josafat, hijo de Namsi, contra Joram. Ahora bien, Joram, y con él todo Israel, había defendido a Ramat-Galaad contra Hazael, rey de Siria;
Thus did Jehu son of Jehoshaphat son of Nimshi conspire against Joram, —when, Joram, was watching Ramoth-gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria.
15 y el rey Joram habíase vuelto para curarse en Jesreel de las heridas que los sirios le habían infligido en el combate contra Hazael, rey de Siria. Dijo, pues, Jehú: “Si os parece bien, no salga ninguno furtivamente de la ciudad, para llevar la noticia a Jesreel.”
But Jehoram the king had returned to get himself healed in Jezreel, of the wounds wherewith the Syrians had wounded him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria. Then said Jehu—If such is your mind, let no fugitive get forth out of the city, to go and tell it in Jezreel.
16 Montó luego Jehú en su carro y partió para Jesreel; porque Joram estaba allí enfermo y Ococías, rey de Judá, había bajado a ver a Joram.
So Jehu rode in a chariot, and went towards Jezreel, for, Joram, was lying there, —and, Ahaziah king of Judah, had come down to see Joram.
17 Cuando el atalaya que estaba sobre la torre de Jesreel divisó la tropa de Jehú, dijo: “Estoy viendo una tropa.” Y mandó Joram: “Toma un jinete y envíalo al encuentro para preguntar: «¿Es pacífica (tu venida)?»
Now, the watchman, was standing upon the tower, in Jezreel, so he saw the great company of Jehu, when he came, and said—A great company, can I see! Then said Jehoram—Take a horseman and send to meet them, that he may say—Is it peace?
18 Fue, pues, un jinete al encuentro (de Jehú), y dijo: “Así dice el rey: «¿Es pacífica (tu venida)?»” Respondió Jehú: “¿Qué te importa a ti si es pacífica? Ponte en pos de mí.” El atalaya dio aviso, diciendo: “El mensajero ha llegado hasta ellos, mas no vuelve.”
So the horseman went to meet him, and said—Thus, saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu said—What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me. And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came up to them, but hath not turned back.
19 Envió (Joram) otro jinete, que llegado a ellos, dijo: “Así dice el rey: «¿Es pacifica (tu venida)?»” Contestó Jehú: “¿Qué te importa a ti si es pacífica? Ponte en pos de mí.”
Then sent he a second horseman, and he came up to them and said, Thus, saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu said—What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me.
20 El atalaya avisó, diciendo: “Ha llegado hasta ellos, mas no vuelve; y la manera de manejar el carro es como la de Jehú, hijo de Namsi, pues maneja con ímpetu.”
And the watchman told, saying, He came up to them, but hath not turned back, —and, the driving, is like the driving of Jehu son of Nimshi; for, with mad haste, doth he drive.
21 Entonces dijo Joram: “¡Engancha!” Engancharon su carro; y salieron Joram, rey de Israel, y Ococías, rey de Judá, cada uno en su carro, yendo al encuentro de Jehú, y le encontraron en el campo de Nabot de Jesreel.
Then said Jehoram, Harness! So one harnessed his chariot, —and Jehoram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went forth, each man in his chariot, yea they went forth to meet Jehu, and came upon him in the heritage of Naboth the Jezreelite.
22 Cuando Joram vio a Jehú, le dijo: “¿Paz, Jehú?” El cual respondió: “¿Qué paz, mientras duren las fornicaciones de Jezabel tu madre, y sus muchas hechicerías?”
And it came to pass, when Jehoram saw Jehu, that he said—Is it peace, Jehu? And he said—What can be the peace, while thy mother Jezebel’s harlotries and her incantations do so abound?
23 Joram dio vuelta y echó a huir, y dijo a Ococías: “¡Traición, Ococías!”
Then Jehoram turned his hands, and fled, —and said unto Ahaziah—Treachery! O Ahaziah!
24 Pero Jehú asió con su mano el arco, e hirió a Joram entre las espaldas. La flecha le salió por el corazón, y cayó muerto en su carro.
And, Jehu, bent his bow, and smote Jehoram, between his arms, —and the arrow came out at his heart, —and he sank down in his chariot.
25 Y dijo (Jehú) a Bidcar, capitán suyo: “Tómalo y arrójalo en el campo de Nabot de Jesreel; pues acuérdate de que cuando yo y tú íbamos juntos a caballo tras Acab, su padre, Yahvé fulminó contra él esta sentencia:
Then said he unto Bidkar his officer, Take [him] up, [and] cast him forth, into the field-portion of Naboth the Jezreelite, —for remember, when I and thou were riding as a couple together after Ahab his father, that, Yahweh, laid upon him this doom:
26 «Yo he visto ayer la sangre de Nabot y la de sus hijos, dice Yahvé; y te lo voy a pagar en este mismo campo, dice Yahvé.» Ahora, pues, tómalo y arrójalo en este campo, conforme a la palabra de Yahvé.”
Surely, the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons, have I lately seen, declareth Yahweh, therefore will I requite thee in this portion, declareth Yahweh. Now, therefore, take [him] up, [and] cast him forth into the portion, according to the word of Yahweh.
27 Al ver esto Ococías, rey de Judá, echó a huir por el camino de la casa del huerto. Pero Jehú lo persiguió y dijo: “¡Herid también a este en el carro!” (Así sucedió) en la subida de Gur, que está cerca de Jibleam, pero siguió huyendo hasta Megiddó, donde murió.
And, Ahaziah king of Judah, saw it, and fled by the way of the garden house, —and Jehu pursued him, and said—Him also! smite him in the chariot! It was in the ascent of Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to Mepidgo, and died there.
28 Sus siervos lo llevaron en un carro a Jerusalén, y lo sepultaron en su sepulcro, junto con sus padres, en la ciudad de David.
And his servants conveyed him in a chariot and brought him into Jerusalem, —and buried him in his sepulchre, with his fathers, in the city of David.
29 Ococías había comenzado a reinar sobre Judá el año undécimo de Joram, hijo de Acab.
Now it was, in the eleventh year of Joram son of Ahab, that Ahaziah began to reign over Judah.
30 Después entró Jehú en Jesreel. Cuando Jezabel lo supo se pintó los ojos con estibio, se adornó la cabeza y se asomó a la ventana.
Now, when Jehu entered Jezreel and, Jezebel, heard of it, she set her eyes in stibium, and ornamented her head, and looked forth through the lattice.
31 Y al entrar Jehú por la puerta, le gritó: “¿Le ha ido bien a Zambrí, que mató a su señor?”
So, when, Jehu, had entered in at the gate, she said, Was it peace, when Zimri slew his lord?
32 Mas él, alzando el rostro hacia la ventana, dijo: “¿Quién es de mi partido; quién?” Y miraron hacia él dos o tres eunucos,
And he lifted up his face unto the lattice, and said—Who, is with me? Who? And there looked out unto him, two or three eunuchs.
33 a los cuales ordenó: “¡Arrojadla abajo!” La arrojaron, y su sangre salpicó el muro y los caballos. Y él mismo la holló.
And he said—Hurl her down. And they hurled her down, —and there was sprinkled of her blood—upon the wall, and upon the horses, and they trode upon her.
34 Luego entró y después de haber comido y bebido, dijo: “Mirad por esa maldita y dadle sepultura, que al fin es hija de rey.”
And, when he had entered and eaten and drunk, he said—Look, I pray you, after this accursed woman, and bury her, for the daughter of a king, she is.
35 Fueron, pues, para enterrarla, pero no hallaron de ella más que la calavera, los pies y las palmas de las manos.
So they went to bury her, —but found not of her—save the skull, and the feet, and the palms of the hands.
36 Volvieron y le dieron de ello noticia. Entonces él dijo: “Palabra de Yahvé es esta, que Él pronunció por boca de su siervo Elías tesbita, diciendo: «En el campo de Jesreel comerán los perros la carne de Jezabel.
Then came they back, and told him, and he said—The word of Yahweh, it is, which he spake by the hand of his servant, Elijah the Tishbite, saying—In the town-land of Jezreel, shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel!
37 Y será el cadáver de Jezabel como estiércol sobre la superficie de la tierra, en el campo de Jesreel; de suerte que no dirán más: ¡Esta es Jezabel!»”
So shall the carcass of Jezebel become like heaps of dung on the face of the field, in the town-land of Jezreel: So that they cannot say, This, is Jezebel!
