2 Crónicas 7

1 Cuando Salomón acabó de orar, bajó del cielo fuego que consumió el holocausto y los sacrificios; y la gloria de Yahvé llenó la Casa.

Now, when Solomon had made an end of praying, Fire, came down out of the heavens, and consumed the ascending-offering and the sacrifices, —and, the glory of Yahweh, filled the house;

2 Y no podían los sacerdotes entrar en la Casa de Yahvé, porque la gloria de Yahvé llenaba la Casa de Yahvé.

so that the priests could not enter into the house of Yahweh, —because the glory of Yahweh filled the house of Yahweh;

3 Entonces todos los hijos de Israel, al ver descender el fuego y la gloria de Yahvé sobre la Casa, se postraron rostro en tierra sobre el pavimento, y adoraron, celebrando a Yahvé (diciendo): “porque es bueno, porque es eterna su misericordia.”

and, all the sons of Israel, seeing the descending of the fire and the glory of Yahweh upon the house, then knelt they down with their faces toward the ground, upon the pavement, and bowed themselves in prostration, and gave thanks unto Yahweh, For he is good, For, age-abiding, is his lovingkindness.

4 Luego el rey y todo el pueblo ofrecieron sacrificios delante de Yahvé.

And, the king and all the people, were offering sacrifice before Yahweh.

5 El rey Salomón ofreció en sacrificio veinte y dos mil bueyes y ciento veinte mil ovejas. Así el rey y todo el pueblo celebraron la dedicación de la Casa de Dios.

And King Solomon offered a sacrifice—of oxen, twenty-two thousand, and of sheep, a hundred and twenty thousand, —and so the king and all the people, dedicated the house of God;

6 Los sacerdotes atendían su ministerio, como también los levitas con los instrumentos de música de Yahvé, que el rey David había hecho para alabar a Yahvé (con las palabras): “porque es eterna su misericordia”. El mismo David solía alabar (a Dios) por medio de ellos. Los sacerdotes que tocaban las trompetas estaban delante de los (levitas), y todo Israel se mantenía en pie.

while, the priests, over their charges, were standing, the Levites also, with the instruments for the songs of Yahweh, which David the king had made, for giving thanks unto Yahweh, For, age-abiding, is his lovingkindness, when David offered praise by their means, —and, the priests, kept on blowing trumpets over against them, while, all Israel, were standing.

7 Salomón santificó también el atrio central, que está delante de la Casa de Yahvé; pues ofreció allí los holocaustos y las grosuras de los sacrificios pacíficos, ya que el altar de bronce que había hecho no podía contener los holocaustos, oblaciones y sebos.

And Solomon hallowed the middle of the court that was before the house of Yahweh, for he offered there the ascending-sacrifices, and the fat portions of the peace-offerings, —because, the altar of bronze which Solomon had made, was not able to receive the ascending-sacrifice and the meal-offering and the fat portions.

8 Salomón celebró durante siete días la fiesta, y con él todo Israel, una multitud numerosísima, venida desde la entrada de Hamat hasta el torrente de Egipto.

And Solomon made a festival—at that time—for seven days, and all Israel with him, an exceeding great convocation, —from the entering in of Hamath, unto the ravine of Egypt.

9 Al día octavo tuvo lugar la asamblea solemne, porque habían hecho la dedicación del altar por siete días, de manera que la fiesta (duró) siete días.

And they made, on the eighth day, a closing feast, —because, the dedication of the altar, they had kept seven days and a festival seven days.

10 El día veinte y tres del mes séptimo (Salomón) envió al pueblo a sus casas, y estaban alegres y contentos en su corazón por todos los beneficios que Yahvé había hecho a David, a Salomón y a Israel, su pueblo.

And, on the twenty-third of the seventh month, he sent the people away to their own homes, —rejoicing and glad in heart, over the goodness which Yahweh had performed unto David and unto Solomon, and unto Israel his people.

11 Acabó Salomón la Casa de Yahvé y la casa del rey, y realizó todo cuanto se había propuesto hacer en la Casa de Yahvé y en su propia casa.

Thus Solomon finished the house of Yahweh, and the house of the king, —and, all that had come in upon the heart of Solomon, to do in the house of Yahweh and in his own house, he prosperously executed.

12 Apareciose entonces Yahvé a Salomón de noche, y le dijo: “He oído tu oración, y me he escogido este lugar como Casa de sacrificio.

Then appeared Yahweh unto Solomon by night, —and said to him, I have heard thy prayer, and have made choice of this place for myself, as a house of sacrifice: —

13 Si Yo cerrare el cielo y no lloviere, si Yo enviare la langosta para que devore la tierra, o mandare la peste entre mi pueblo;

If I shut up the heavens that there be no rain, or if I lay command on the locust, to devour the land, —or if I send pestilence, amongst my people:

14 y si mi pueblo sobre el cual es invocado mi nombre se humillare, orando y buscando mi rostro, y si se convirtieren de sus malos caminos, Yo los oiré desde el cielo, perdonaré su pecado y sanaré su tierra.

if my people upon whom my Name is called shall humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will, I myself, hear out of the heavens, and forgive their sin, and heal their land.

15 Estarán mis ojos abiertos, y mis oídos atentos a la oración que se haga en este lugar;

Now, mine eyes, shall be open, and, mine ears, attent, —to the prayer of this place.

16 pues ahora he escogido y santificado esta Casa, para que en ella permanezca para siempre mi Nombre. Allí estarán mis ojos y mi corazón todos los días.

Now, therefore, have I chosen and hallowed this house, that my Name may be there, unto times age-abiding, —and mine eyes and my heart shall he there, all the days.

17 Y en cuanto a ti, si andas en mi presencia como anduvo David, tu padre, haciendo todo lo que te he mandado, y guardando mis leyes y mis preceptos,

Thou, therefore, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, even to do according to all that I have commanded thee, —and, my statutes and regulations, thou wilt observe,

18 haré estable el trono de tu reino, como he pactado con David, tu padre, diciendo: «Jamás te faltará hombre (de tu descendencia) que reine en Israel.»

then will I establish the throne of thy kingdom, —according as I covenanted to David thy father, saying—There shall not fail thee a man, to rule over Israel.

19 Pero si os apartáis, abandonando mis leyes y mis mandamientos que os he puesto delante, y vais a servir a otros dioses, postrándoos delante de ellos,

But, if, ye yourselves, shall turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, —and shall go and serve other gods, and bow down to them,

20 os arrancaré de mi país que os he dado, y esta Casa que he santificado para mi Nombre la echaré de mi presencia, y la haré objeto de proverbio y escarnio entre todos los pueblos.

then will I root you out from off the soil, which I have given to you, and, this house, which I have hallowed for my Name, will I cast off from before my face, —and will appoint it for a by-word and a mockery, among all the peoples;

21 Y esta Casa tan alta vendrá a ser el espanto de todos los que pasaren cerca de ella, de modo que dirán: «¿Por qué ha tratado Yahvé así a este país y esta Casa?»

and, this house which hath been renowned, all that pass by near it, shall be astonished, —and say, Wherefore hath Yahweh done, thus and thus, to this land, and to this house?

22 Y se les responderá: «Porque abandonaron a Yahvé, el Dios de sus padres, que los había sacado de la tierra de Egipto, y se adhirieron a otros dioses, postrándose ante ellos y sirviéndolos, por eso Él hizo venir sobre ellos todo este mal».”

And men shall say, Because they forsook Yahweh the God of their fathers, who brought them up out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold of other gods, and bowed down to them, and served them, for this cause, hath he brought upon them, all this calamity.
