1 Crónicas 22

1 Entonces dijo David: “¡Aquí (se levantará) la Casa de Yahvé Dios, y aquí el altar de los holocaustos para Israel!”

Then David said, “This is where the house of Yahweh God will be, with the altar for the burnt offerings of Israel.”

2 Mandó David, juntar a los extranjeros que había en la tierra de Israel, y señaló canteros que preparasen piedras talladas para la construcción de la Casa de Dios.

So David ordered his servants to gather together the foreigners living in the land of Israel. He assigned them to be stonecutters, to cut stone blocks, in order to build God's house.

3 Preparó David también hierro en abundancia para la clavazón de las hojas de las puertas y para las trabazones, y cantidad incalculable de bronce

David supplied a large amount of iron for the nails for the doors to go in the gateways, and for braces. He also supplied more bronze than could be weighed,

4 y madera de cedro innumerable, pues los sidonios y los tirios trajeron a David madera de cedro en abundancia.

and more cedar trees than could be counted. (The Sidonians and the Tyrians brought too many cedar logs to David to count.)

5 Porque David se decía: “Mi hijo Salomón es todavía joven y de tierna edad, y la Casa que ha de edificarse para Yahvé debe ser grande sobre toda ponderación, para renombre y para gloria en todos los países. Haré para ella los preparativos.” E hizo David abundantes provisiones antes de su muerte.

David said, “My son Solomon is young and inexperienced, and the house that is to be built for Yahweh must be especially magnificent, so that it will be famous and glorious in all other lands. So I will prepare for its building.” So David made extensive preparations before his death.

6 Después llamó a su hijo Salomón, al que mandó que edificase una Casa para Yahvé, el Dios de Israel.

Then he called for Solomon his son and commanded him to build a house for Yahweh, the God of Israel.

7 Dijo David a Salomón: “Hijo mío, yo tenía la intención de edificar una Casa al Nombre de Yahvé, mi Dios,

David said to Solomon, “My son, it was my intention to build a house myself, for the name of Yahweh my God.

8 Pero fue dirigida a mí esta palabra de Yahvé: «Tú has vertido mucha sangre y hecho grandes guerras; no podrás edificar tú la Casa a mi Nombre, porque has derramado delante de mí mucha sangre en la tierra.

But Yahweh came to me and said, 'You have shed much blood and have fought many battles. You will not build a house for my name, because you have shed much blood on the earth in my sight.

9 He aquí que te nacerá un hijo, el cual será hombre de paz, y le daré descanso de todos sus enemigos de en derredor; porque Salomón será su nombre, y en sus días daré paz y tranquilidad a Israel.

However, you will have a son who will be a peaceful man. I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side. For his name will be Solomon, and I will give peace and quiet to Israel in his days.

10 Él edificará una Casa a mi Nombre; él será para mí hijo, y Yo seré padre para él; y estableceré el trono de su reino sobre Israel para siempre.»

He will build a house for my name. He will be my son, and I will be his father. I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.'

11 Ahora, pues, hijo mío, Yahvé sea contigo, para que logres edificar la Casa de Yahvé tu Dios, como Él de ti lo ha predicho.

Now, my son, may Yahweh be with you and enable you to succeed. May you build the house of Yahweh your God, as he said you would.

12 Te conceda tan solo Yahvé prudencia y entendimiento, para que, habiéndote Él dado poder sobre Israel, guardes la Ley de Yahvé, tu Dios.

Only may Yahweh give you insight and understanding, so that you may obey the law of Yahweh your God, when he places you in charge over Israel.

13 Entonces te saldrá bien la obra si cuidares de cumplir los mandamientos y los preceptos que Yahvé ha prescrito a Moisés para Israel. ¡Sé fuerte y ten buen ánimo! ¡No temas, ni te amedrentes!

Then you will succeed, if you carefully obey the statutes and the decrees that Yahweh gave to Moses concerning Israel. Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be discouraged.

14 He aquí lo que yo en mi aflicción he preparado para la Casa de Yahvé: De oro, cien mil talentos; de plata, un millón de talentos, y de cobre y de hierro una cantidad incalculable por su abundancia. He preparado también maderas y piedras cuya cantidad tú podrás aumentar.

Now, see, at great effort I have prepared for Yahweh's house 100,000 talents of gold, one million talents of silver, and bronze and iron in large quantities. I have also provided timber and stone. You must add more to all this.

15 Y tienes a mano muchos obreros, canteros, talladores de piedras y carpinteros, y toda clase de hombres hábiles para toda suerte de obra.

You have many workmen with you: stonecutters, masons, carpenters, and skillful craftsmen without number of every kind,

16 El oro, la plata, el bronce y el hierro son sin número. ¡Levántate, pues! ¡Manos a la obra, y Yahvé sea contigo!

who can work with gold, silver, bronze, and iron. Arise and begin the work, and may Yahweh be with you.”

17 Mandó David a todos los príncipes de Israel que ayudasen, a su hijo Salomón (diciéndoles):

David also ordered all the leaders of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,

18 “¿No está con vosotros Yahvé, vuestro Dios? ¿Y no os ha dado paz por todos lados? Pues Él ha entregado en mis manos los habitantes del país, y el país está sujeto delante de Yahvé y delante de su pueblo.

“Yahweh your God is with you and has given you peace on every side. He has given the region's inhabitants into my hand. The region is subdued before Yahweh and his people.

19 Aplicad ahora vuestro corazón y vuestra alma para buscar a Yahvé, vuestro Dios. Levantaos y edificad el Santuario de Yahvé, Dios, para trasladar el Arca de la Alianza de Yahvé y los utensilios del Santuario de Dios, a la Casa que ha de edificarse al Nombre de Yahvé.”

Now seek Yahweh your God with all your heart and your soul. Get up and build the holy place of Yahweh God. Then you can bring the ark of the covenant of Yahweh and the things that belong to God into the house built for Yahweh's name.”
