1 Začetek evangelja Jezusa Kristusa, sina Božjega;
A beginning of the good news of Jesus Christ, Son of God.
2 Kakor je pisano v prerokih; "Glej, jaz pošiljam angelja svojega pred obličjem tvojim, kteri bo pripravil pot tvojo pred teboj.
As it hath been written in the prophets, 'Lo, I send My messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee,' —
3 "Glas vpijočega v puščavi: Pripravite pot Gospodov; poravnajte steze njegove."
'A voice of one calling in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, straight make ye his paths,' —
4 Krščeval je Janez v puščavi in oznanjeval krst pokore za odpuščanje grehov.
John came baptizing in the wilderness, and proclaiming a baptism of reformation — to remission of sins,
5 In izhajala je k njemu vsa Judejska dežela in Jeruzalemci; in krščeval jih je vse v Jordanu reki, in izpovedovali so grehe svoje.
and there were going forth to him all the region of Judea, and they of Jerusalem, and they were all baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.
6 Bil je pa Janez oblečen v kameljo dlako, in pas usnjat okoli ledja svojega; in jedel je kobilice in med divji.
And John was clothed with camel's hair, and a girdle of skin around his loins, and eating locusts and honey of the field,
7 In oznanjeval je, govoreč: Močneji od mene gre za menoj, kteremu nisem vreden, pripognivši se odvezati jermena na obutalu njegovem.
and he proclaimed, saying, 'He doth come — who is mightier than I — after me, of whom I am not worthy — having stooped down — to loose the latchet of his sandals;
8 Jaz sem vas krstil z vodo; ali on vas bo krstil z Duhom svetim.
I indeed did baptize you with water, but he shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit.'
9 In zgodí se tiste dni, da pride Jezus iz Nazareta Galilejskega, in krsti ga Janez v Jordanu.
And it came to pass in those days, Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John at the Jordan;
10 In precej, stopajoč iz vode, ugleda, da se odpirajo nebesa, in Duh ko golob shaja na-nj.
and immediately coming up from the water, he saw the heavens dividing, and the Spirit as a dove coming down upon him;
11 In glas se oglasi z nebes: Ti si sin moj ljubljeni, kteri je po mojej volji.
and a voice came out of the heavens, 'Thou art My Son — the Beloved, in whom I did delight.'
12 In precej ga izžene Duh v puščavo.
And immediately doth the Spirit put him forth to the wilderness,
13 In bil je tam v puščavi štirideset dní, in izkušal ga je satan, in bil je z zverino; in angelji so mu stregli.
and he was there in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by the Adversary, and he was with the beasts, and the messengers were ministering to him.
14 Ko so pa Janeza izročili Herodu, pride Jezus v Galilejo, oznanjujoč evangelj kraljestva Božjega,
And after the delivering up of John, Jesus came to Galilee, proclaiming the good news of the reign of God,
15 In govoreč: Izpolnil se je čas, in približalo se je kraljestvo Božje: spokorite se, in verujte v evangelj.
and saying — 'Fulfilled hath been the time, and the reign of God hath come nigh, reform ye, and believe in the good news.'
16 Hodé pa ob morji Galilejskem, ugleda Simona in Andreja brata njegovega, da mečeta mreže v morje; bila sta namreč ribiča.
And, walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon, and Andrew his brother, casting a drag into the sea, for they were fishers,
17 In reče jima Jezus: Pojdita za menoj, in naredil bom, da bosta lovca ljudî.
and Jesus said to them, 'Come ye after me, and I shall make you to become fishers of men;'
18 In popustívši precej mreže svoje, odideta za njim.
and immediately, having left their nets, they followed him.
19 In prišedši odtod malo dalje, ugleda Jakoba sina Zebedejevega, in Janeza brata njegovega, a ona krpata v ladji mreže.
And having gone on thence a little, he saw James of Zebedee, and John his brother, and they were in the boat refitting the nets,
20 In precej ju pokliče. In popustivši očeta svojega Zebedeja v ladji z najemniki, odideta za njim.
and immediately he called them, and, having left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, they went away after him.
21 Ter vnidejo v Kapernaum; in precej v soboto vnide v shajališče, ter je učil.
And they go on to Capernaum, and immediately, on the sabbaths, having gone into the synagogue, he was teaching,
22 In strmeli so nad naukom njegovim; kajti učil jih je, kakor kdor ima oblast, a ne kakor pismarji.
and they were astonished at his teaching, for he was teaching them as having authority, and not as the scribes.
23 In bil je v njih shajališči človek, kteri je imel duha nečistega, in zavpije,
And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out,
24 Govoreč: Pojenjaj, kaj imaš z nami, Jezus Nazarečan? Prišel si, da nas pogubiš? Poznam te, kdo si – svetnik Božji.
saying, 'Away! what — to us and to thee, Jesus the Nazarene? thou didst come to destroy us; I have known thee who thou art — the Holy One of God.'
25 In zapretí mu Jezus, govoreč: Umolkni, in izidi iz njega,
And Jesus rebuked him, saying, 'Be silenced, and come forth out of him,'
26 In duh nečisti ga strese, in zakričí z močnim glasom; in izide iž njega.
and the unclean spirit having torn him, and having cried with a great voice, came forth out of him,
27 In vsi se prestrašijo, tako, da so vpraševali eden drugega, govoreč: Kaj je to? kakošen je ta novi nauk, da z oblastjo tudi duhovom nečistim ukazuje, in pokorni so mu?
and they were all amazed, so as to reason among themselves, saying, 'What is this? what new teaching [is] this? that with authority also the unclean spirits he commandeth, and they obey him!'
28 In precej izide glas o njem po vsej pokrajini Galilejskej.
And the fame of him went forth immediately to all the region, round about, of Galilee.
29 In izšedši precej iz shajališča, pridejo v hišo Simona in Andreja, z Jakobom in Janezom.
And immediately, having come forth out of the synagogue, they went to the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John,
30 Tašča pa Simonova ležala je mrzlična; in precej mu povedó za njo.
and the mother-in-law of Simon was lying fevered, and immediately they tell him about her,
31 In pristopivši, vzdigne jo, prijemši jo za roko; in precej jo je pustila mrzlica, ter jim je stregla
and having come near, he raised her up, having laid hold of her hand, and the fever left her immediately, and she was ministering to them.
32 Zvečer pa, ko je solnce zatonilo, prinašali so k njemu vse bolnike in obsedence.
And evening having come, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all who were ill, and who were demoniacs,
33 In vse mesto se je bilo zbralo k vratom.
and the whole city was gathered together near the door,
34 In uzdravil je mnogo bolnikov od različnih bolezni; in hudičev je mnogo izgnal, in ni dal govoriti hudičem, ker so ga poznali.
and he healed many who were ill of manifold diseases, and many demons he cast forth, and was not suffering the demons to speak, because they knew him.
35 In zjutraj zeló zgodaj vstane in izide, ter odide na samoten kraj, in tam je molil.
And very early, it being yet night, having risen, he went forth, and went away to a desert place, and was there praying;
36 In za njim potekó Simon in kteri so bili ž njim.
and Simon and those with him went in quest of him,
37 In ko ga najdejo, rekó mu; Vsi te iščejo.
and having found him, they say to him, — 'All do seek thee;'
38 Pa jim reče: Pojdimo v bližnje trge, da bom tudi tam učil; kajti za to sem prišel.
and he saith to them, 'We may go to the next towns, that there also I may preach, for for this I came forth.'
39 In učil je po njih shajališčih, po vsej Galileji, in hudiče je izganjal.
And he was preaching in their synagogues, in all Galilee, and is casting out the demons,
40 Pa pride k njemu gobavec, proseč ga in klečeč pred njim, in govoreč mu: Če hočeš, moreš me očistiti.
and there doth come to him a leper, calling on him, and kneeling to him, and saying to him — 'If thou mayest will, thou art able to cleanse me.'
41 In Jezusu se zasmili, in stegnivši roko, dotakne se ga in mu reče: Hočem, očisti se!
And Jesus having been moved with compassion, having stretched forth the hand, touched him, and saith to him, 'I will; be thou cleansed;'
42 In ko je to rekel, precej je odšla od njega goba, in bil je očiščen.
and he having spoken, immediately the leprosy went away from him, and he was cleansed.
43 In zapretivši mu, izžene ga precej,
And having sternly charged him, immediately he put him forth,
44 In velí mu: Glej, da nikomur nič ne povéš; nego pojdi, pokaži se duhovnu, in prinesi za očiščenje svoje, kar je ukazal Mojzes, njim za pričo.
and saith to him, 'See thou mayest say nothing to any one, but go away, thyself shew to the priest, and bring near for thy cleansing the things Moses directed, for a testimony to them.'
45 On pa, ko je izšel, jel je mnogo oznanjevati in reč razglaševati, tako, da ni mogel Jezus nič več očitno v mesto vniti; nego zunej po samotnih krajih je bil, in prihajali so k njemu od vseh stranî.
And he, having gone forth, began to proclaim much, and to spread abroad the thing, so that no more he was able openly to enter into the city, but he was without in desert places, and they were coming unto him from every quarter.
