1 Седми лет бе Иоас, егда царствовати нача, и четыредесять лет царствова во Иерусалиме. Имя же матери его Савиа от Вирсавеи.
Joash was seven years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Zibiah of Beer-sheba.
2 Сотвори же Иоас угодное пред Господем во вся дни Иодаа священника.
And Joash did that which was right in the sight of YHWH all the days of Jehoiada the priest.
3 И поят ему Иодай жены две, и родиша сыны и дщери.
And Jehoiada took for him two wives; and he begat sons and daughters.
4 И бысть по сих, и взыде на сердце Иоасу, да возновит дом Господень.
And it came to pass after this, that Joash was minded to repair the house of YHWH.
5 И собра священники и левиты и рече им: идите во грады Иудины, и соберите от всего Израиля сребро ко обновлению храма Господня от лета до лета, и поспешно сотворите. Левити же не потщашася.
And he gathered together the priests and the Levites, and said to them, Go out unto the cities of Judah, and gather of all Israel money to repair the house of your Elohim from year to year, and see that ye hasten the matter. Howbeit the Levites hastened it not.
6 И призва царь Иоас Иодаа началника и рече ему: почто не надсматрял еси левитов, еже принести от Иуды и от Иерусалима, еже уставлено есть от Моисеа человека Божия, егда собра Израиля в скинию свидения?
And the king called for Jehoiada the chief, and said unto him, Why hast thou not required of the Levites to bring in out of Judah and out of Jerusalem the collection, according to the commandment of Moses the servant of YHWH, and of the congregation of Israel, for the tabernacle of witness?
7 Гофолиа бо бе нечестива, и сынове ея разориша дом Божий, яко святая дому Господня сотвориша Ваалиму.
For the sons of Athaliah, that wicked woman, had broken up the house of Elohim; and also all the dedicated things of the house of YHWH did they bestow upon Baalim.
8 И повеле царь, да сотворят ковчежец и поставят при вратех Господних извне,
And at the king's commandment they made a chest, and set it without at the gate of the house of YHWH.
9 и да проповедят во Иудеи и во Иерусалиме, приносити Господу, якоже устави Моисей раб Божий над Израилем в пустыни.
And they made a proclamation through Judah and Jerusalem, to bring in to YHWH the collection that Moses the servant of Elohim laid upon Israel in the wilderness.
10 И даша вси началницы и вси людие, и вношаху и влагаху в ковчежец, дондеже наполнися.
And all the princes and all the people rejoiced, and brought in, and cast into the chest, until they had made an end.
11 И бысть егда приношаху ковчежец к настоятелем царевым руками левитскими, и егда увидеша, яко умножися сребро, и прихождаше писарь царев и настоятель великаго жерца, и выбираху из ковчежца, и (паки) поставляху на место его: тако творяху от дне до дне, и собраша сребра много.
Now it came to pass, that at what time the chest was brought unto the king's office by the hand of the Levites, and when they saw that there was much money, the king's scribe and the high priest's officer came and emptied the chest, and took it and carried it to his place again. Thus they did day by day, and gathered money in abundance.
12 И вдаде е царь и Иодай жрец творящым дела на дело дому Господня: и наимаху каменосечцы и древодели, да устрояют дом Господень, и ковачы железу и меди, да укрепят дом Господень.
And the king and Jehoiada gave it to such as did the work of the service of the house of YHWH, and hired masons and carpenters to repair the house of YHWH, and also such as wrought iron and brass to mend the house of YHWH.
13 И творяху творящии дела, и взыде долгота дел руками их, и возставиша дом Господень в состояние (прежнее) его, и укрепиша.
So the workmen wrought, and the work was perfected by them, and they set the house of Elohim in his state, and strengthened it.
14 Егда же совершиша, принесоша ко царю и ко Иодаю останок сребра, из негоже сотвориша сосуды в дом Господень, сосуды в служение всесожжений, и кадилницы златыя и сребряныя, и приношаху всесожжения в дому Господни непрестанно, во вся дни Иодаевы.
And when they had finished it, they brought the rest of the money before the king and Jehoiada, whereof were made vessels for the house of YHWH, even vessels to minister, and to offer withal, and spoons, and vessels of gold and silver. And they offered burnt offerings in the house of YHWH continually all the days of Jehoiada.
15 И состареся Иодай исполнен дний, и умре сый ста тридесяти лет внегда скончатися ему:
But Jehoiada waxed old, and was full of days when he died; an hundred and thirty years old was he when he died.
16 и погребоша его во граде Давидове со царми, понеже сотвори благое со Израилем и с Богом и с домом Его.
And they buried him in the city of David among the kings, because he had done good in Israel, both toward Elohim, and toward his house.
17 И бысть по скончании Иодаеве, внидоша началницы Иудины и поклонишася царю: тогда послуша их царь.
Now after the death of Jehoiada came the princes of Judah, and made obeisance to the king. Then the king hearkened unto them.
18 И оставиша церковь Господа Бога отец своих и служаху Астарте и истуканным: и бысть гнев (Господень) на Иуду и Иерусалим в день той.
And they left the house of YHWH Elohim of their fathers, and served groves and idols: and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their trespass.
19 И посла к ним пророки, да обратятся ко Господу, и не послушаша: и засвидетелствова им, и не покоришася.
Yet he sent prophets to them, to bring them again unto YHWH; and they testified against them: but they would not give ear.
20 И Дух Божий облече Азарию священника сына Иодаева, и ста пред людьми и рече им: сия глаголет Господь: почто преступаете повеления Господня? Не поспешится вам, яко остависте Господа, и оставит вас.
And the Spirit of Elohim came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, which stood above the people, and said unto them, Thus saith Elohim, Why transgress ye the commandments of YHWH, that ye cannot prosper? because ye have forsaken YHWH, he hath also forsaken you.
21 И нападоша на него и побиша и камением по повелению Иоаса царя, во дворе дому Господня.
And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of YHWH.
22 И не воспомяну Иоас царь милосердия, еже сотвори Иодай отец его с ним, но уби сына его: иже, егда умираше, рече: да видит и судит Господь.
Thus Joash the king remembered not the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but slew his son. And when he died, he said, YHWH look upon it, and require it.
23 И бысть по скончании лета, воста на него сила Сирская, и прииде на Иуду и на Иерусалим, и убиша вся началники в людех в церкви, и весь плен их послаша ко царю в Дамаск:
And it came to pass at the end of the year, that the host of Syria came up against him: and they came to Judah and Jerusalem, and destroyed all the princes of the people from among the people, and sent all the spoil of them unto the king of Damascus.
24 зане в малых мужех прииде сила Сирская, и Бог предаде в руце их силу многу зело, зане оставиша Господа Бога отец своих: и на Иоаса сотвори суд.
For the army of the Syrians came with a small company of men, and YHWH delivered a very great host into their hand, because they had forsaken YHWH Elohim of their fathers. So they executed judgment against Joash.
25 И по отшествии их от него, оставлену ему сущу в болезнех великих, и нападоша на него раби его за кровь священника сына Иодаева, и убиша его на постели его, и умре: и погребоша его во граде Давидове, но не погребоша его во гробех царских.
And when they were departed from him, (for they left him in great diseases, ) his own servants conspired against him for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the priest, and slew him on his bed, and he died: and they buried him in the city of David but they buried him not in the sepulchres of the kings.
26 Нападшии же на него, Завед сын Семаафов Амманитянин и Иозавед сын Самарифов Моавитянин,
And these are they that conspired against him; Zabad the son of Shimeath an Ammonitess, and Jehozabad the son of Shimrith a Moabitess.
27 и сынове его вси, и приступиша к нему пять. И прочая словес его, се, написана в летописце царстем. И воцарися Амасиа сын его вместо его.
Now concerning his sons, and the greatness of the burdens laid upon him, and the repairing of the house of Elohim, behold, they are written in the story of the book of the kings. And Amaziah his son reigned in his stead.
