7 naizvozvo handina kutongofunga ini pachangu ndakafanira kuuya kwamuri; asi taurai neshoko, muranda wangu achaporeswa.
Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to you; but say the word, and my servant will be healed.
8 Nokuti iniwo ndiri munhu wakaiswa pasi pesimba, ndine mauto pasi pangu; ndinoti kune uyu: Enda, anoenda; uye kune umwe: Uya, anouya; nekumuranda wangu: Ita ichi, achiita.
For I also am a man placed under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, 'Go.' and he goes; and to another, 'Come.' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."
9 Jesu wakati anzwa zvinhu izvi, akashamisika naye, akatendeuka, akati kuchaunga chaimutevera: Ndinoti kwamuri: Handina kuwana rutendo rukuru rwakadai kunyange pakati paIsraeri.
When Jesus heard these things, he was amazed at him, and turned and said to the crowd who followed him, "I tell you, I have not found such great faith, no, not in Israel."
10 Zvino avo vakange vatumwa vodzokera kumba vakawana muranda airwara ava mutano.
And when those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the servant in good health.

It happened soon afterwards, that he went to a city called Nain; and many of his disciples, along with a large crowd, went with him.

And when he drew near to the gate of the city, then look, a man who was dead was carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and a large crowd from the city was with her.
13 Zvino Ishe wakati amuona, akamunzwira tsitsi, akati kwaari: Usachema.
When the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said to her, "Do not cry."
14 Zvino akaswedera akabata hwanyanza; zvino vatakuri vakamira; akati: Jaya, ndinoti kwauri: Muka!
He came near and touched the coffin, and the bearers stood still. He said, "Young man, I tell you, arise."
15 Mushakabvu akamuka ndokugara, akatanga kutaura; akamupa kuna mai vake.
He who was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he gave him to his mother.
16 Kutya ndokubata vese; vakarumbidza Mwari, vachiti: Muporofita mukuru wamuka pakati pedu; nekuti: Mwari washanyira vanhu vake.
Fear took hold of all, and they glorified God, saying, "A great prophet has arisen among us." and, "God has visited his people."
17 Zvino iri shoko maererano naye rikabudira muJudhiya rese nenharaunda yese yakapoteredza.
This report went out concerning him in the whole of Judea, and in all the surrounding region.
18 Vadzidzi vaJohwani ndokumupira zvezvinhu izvozvi zvese.
The disciples of John told him about all these things.
19 Johwani akadanira kwaari vamwe vaviri vevadzidzi vake, akavatuma kuna Jesu achiti: Imwi ndimwi anouya here, kana tichakataririra umwe?
John, calling to himself two of his disciples, sent them to the Lord, saying, "Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?"
20 Zvino varume vakati vasvika kwaari, vakati: Johwani Mubhabhatidzi watituma kwamuri achiti: Imwi ndimwi anouya here, kana titaririre umwe?
When the men had come to him, they said, "John the Baptist has sent us to you, saying, 'Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?'"
21 Zvino munguva iyoyo akaporesa vazhinji pazvifo neurwere, nepamweya yakaipa; nekumapofu mazhinji akapa kuona.
In that hour he cured many of diseases and plagues and evil spirits; and to many who were blind he gave sight.
22 Zvino Jesu achipindura akati kwavari: Endai munoudza Johwani zvamakaona nezvamakanzwa; zvekuti, mapofu anoonazve, vanokamhina vanofamba, vane maperembudzi vanonatsva, matsi dzinonzwa, vakafa vanomutswa, varombo vanoparidzirwa evhangeri.
Jesus answered them, "Go and tell John the things which you have seen and heard: that the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.
23 Uye wakaropafadzwa ani nani asingagumbuswi neni.
Blessed is he who is not offended by me."
24 Zvino vatumwa vaJohwani vakati vabva, wakatanga kutaura kuzvaunga pamusoro paJohwani, achiti: Makabudira kurenje kunoonei? Rutsanga rwunozununguswa nemhepo here?
When John's messengers had departed, he began to tell the crowds about John, "What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?
25 Asi makange mabuda kunoonei? Munhu wakapfeka nguvo dzakapfava here? Tarirai, vari munguvo dzinobwinya, vachirarama zvakanaka, vari mudzimba dzemadzimambo.
But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft clothing? Look, those who are gorgeously dressed, and live delicately, are in kings' courts.
26 Asi makange mabuda kunoonei? Muporofita here? Hongu, ndinoti kwamuri: Kunyange anopfuura zvikuru muporofita.
But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet.
27 Uyu ndiye wakanyorwa pamusoro pake, zvichinzi: Tarira, ini ndinotuma mutumwa wangu pamberi pechiso chako, achagadzira nzira yako pamberi pako.
This is he of whom it is written, 'Look, I send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.'
28 Nokuti ndinoti kwamuri: Pakati pevakaberekwa nevakadzi, hakuna muporofita mukuru kuna Johwani Mubhabhatidzi; asi mudikisa muushe hwaMwari mukuru kwaari.
"I tell you, among those who are born of women there is none greater than John, yet he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he."
29 Zvino vanhu vese nevateresi vakati vachizvinzwa vakati Mwari wakarurama, zvavakange vabhabhatidzwa nerubhabhatidzo rwaJohwani.
When all the people and the tax collectors heard this, they declared God to be just, having been baptized with John's baptism.
30 Asi VaFarisi nenyanzvi dzemutemo vakaramba zano raMwari vachizvipikisa, vakasabhabhatidzwa naye.
But the Pharisees and the Law scholars rejected the counsel of God, not being baptized by him themselves.
31 Asi Ishe akati: Zvino vanhu vezera iri ndichavafananidza nei? Vakafanana nei?
"To what then will I liken the people of this generation? What are they like?
32 Vakafanana nevana vadiki vagere pamisika vachidanidzirana vachiti: Takakuridzirai nyere asi hamuna kutamba, takakuririrai asi hamuna kuchema.
They are like children who sit in the marketplace, and call one to another, saying, 'We played the flute for you, and you did not dance. We mourned, and you did not weep.'
33 Nokuti Johwani Mubhabhatidzi akauya asingadyi chingwa kana kunwa waini, zvino moti: Ane dhimoni;
For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, 'He has a demon.'
34 Mwanakomana wemunhu wauya achidya, achinwa, zvino moti: Tarirai munhu wemakaro nemunwi wewaini, shamwari yevateresi nevatadzi.
The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, 'Look, a gluttonous man, and a drunkard; a friend of tax collectors and sinners.'
35 Asi uchenjeri hunonzi hwakarurama nevana vahwo vese.
Wisdom is justified by all her children."
36 Zvino umwe weVaFarisi wakamukumbira kuti adye naye; akapinda mumba memuFarisi, akagara pakudya.
One of the Pharisees invited him to eat with him. He entered into the Pharisee's house, and sat at the table.
37 Zvino tarira, mukadzi muguta iro, waiva mutadzi, wakati aziva kuti agere pakudya mumba memuFarisi, akauya nechinu chearibhasiteri chechizoro.
And look, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that he was reclining in the Pharisee's house, she brought an alabaster jar of ointment.
38 Akamira patsoka dzake mushure make achichema, akatanga kunyorovesa tsoka dzake nemisodzi, akapukuta nevhudzi remusoro wake, ndokutsvoda tsoka dzake ndokudzizodza nechizoro.
Standing behind at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears, and she wiped them with the hair of her head, kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
39 Zvino muFarisi wakange amudana wakati achizviona, akataura mukati make, achiti: Uyu dai aiva muporofita, angadai aiziva kuti ndiani, uye ndewakadini mukadzi anomubata, nokuti mutadzi.
Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw it, he said to himself, "This man, if he were a prophet, would have perceived who and what kind of woman this is who touches him, that she is a sinner."
40 Jesu ndokupindura akati kwaari: Simoni, ndine chekutaura kwauri. Iye ndokuti: Mudzidzisi, revai.
Jesus answered him, "Simon, I have something to tell you." He said, "Teacher, say on."
41 Kwakange kune vakwereti vaviri kune umwe mukweretesi; umwe wakange ane chikwereti chamadhenario mazana mashanu, uye umwe makumi mashanu.
"A certain lender had two debtors. The one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.
42 Vakati vasina chekuripisa, akavakanganwira vari vaviri. Naizvozvo ndeupi wavo, taura, achamuda kupfuura umwe?
When they could not pay, he forgave them both. Which of them therefore will love him most?"
43 Simoni akapindura akati: Ndinofunga ndouyo waakakanganwira kupfuura umwe. Akati kwaari: Watonga zvakarurama.
Simon answered, "He, I suppose, to whom he forgave the most." He said to him, "You have judged correctly."
44 Zvino akatendeukira kumukadzi, akati kuna Simoni: Unoona mukadzi uyu here? Ndapinda mumba mako, mvura yetsoka dzangu hauna kundipa; asi uyu wanyorevesa tsoka dzangu nemisodzi, akapusika nevhudzi remusoro wake.
Turning to the woman, he said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? I entered into your house, and you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears, and wiped them with her hair.
45 Hauna kunditsvoda, asi iye chinguri chandapinda, haana kumira kutsvoda tsoka dzangu.
You gave me no kiss, but she, since the time I came in, has not ceased to kiss my feet.
46 Nemafuta musoro wangu hauna kuuzodza; asi iye wazodza tsoka dzangu nechizoro.
You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment.
47 Naizvozvo, ndinoti kwauri: Zvivi zvake zvizhinji zvakanganwirwa, nokuti wada zvikuru; asi anokanganwirwa zvishoma, anoda zvishoma.
Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little."
48 Zvino akati kwaari: Zvivi zvako zvakanganwirwa.
He said to her, "Your sins are forgiven."
49 Zvino avo vakange vagere pakudya naye vakatanga kureva mukati mavo, vachiti: Ndiani uyu anokanganwirawo zvivi?
And those who were reclining with him began to say to themselves, "Who is this who even forgives sins?"
50 Akati kumukadzi: Rutendo rwako rwakuponesa; enda nerugare.
He said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you. Go in peace."
