1 อปรญฺจ โลไกรกฺลานฺไต รฺนิรนฺตรํ ปฺรารฺถยิตวฺยมฺ อิตฺยาศเยน ยีศุนา ทฺฤษฺฏานฺต เอก: กถิต: ฯ
He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray and not give up,
2 กุตฺรจินฺนคเร กศฺจิตฺ ปฺราฑฺวิวาก อาสีตฺ ส อีศฺวรานฺนาพิเภตฺ มานุษำศฺจ นามนฺยตฯ
saying, “There was a judge in a certain city who didn’t fear God and didn’t respect man.
3 อถ ตตฺปุรวาสินี กาจิทฺวิธวา ตตฺสมีปเมตฺย วิวาทินา สห มม วิวาทํ ปริษฺกุรฺวฺวิติ นิเวทยามาสฯ
A widow was in that city, and she often came to him, saying, ‘Defend me from my adversary!’
4 ตต: ส ปฺราฑฺวิวาก: กิยทฺทินานิ น ตทงฺคีกฺฤตวานฺ ปศฺจาจฺจิตฺเต จินฺตยามาส, ยทฺยปีศฺวรานฺน พิเภมิ มนุษฺยานปิ น มเนฺย
He wouldn’t for a while; but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man,
5 ตถาเปฺยษา วิธวา มำ กฺลิศฺนาติ ตสฺมาทสฺยา วิวาทํ ปริษฺกริษฺยามิ โนเจตฺ สา สทาคตฺย มำ วฺยคฺรํ กริษฺยติฯ
yet because this widow bothers me, I will defend her, or else she will wear me out by her continual coming.’”
6 ปศฺจาตฺ ปฺรภุรวททฺ อสาวนฺยายปฺราฑฺวิวาโก ยทาห ตตฺร มโน นิธธฺวํฯ
The Lord said, “Listen to what the unrighteous judge says.
7 อีศฺวรสฺย เย 'ภิรุจิตโลกา ทิวานิศํ ปฺรารฺถยนฺเต ส พหุทินานิ วิลมฺพฺยาปิ เตษำ วิวาทานฺ กึ น ปริษฺกริษฺยติ?
Won’t God avenge his chosen ones who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them?
8 ยุษฺมานหํ วทามิ ตฺวรยา ปริษฺกริษฺยติ, กินฺตุ ยทา มนุษฺยปุตฺร อาคมิษฺยติ ตทา ปฺฤถิวฺยำ กิมีทฺฤศํ วิศฺวาสํ ปฺราปฺสฺยติ?
I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
9 เย สฺวานฺ ธารฺมฺมิกานฺ ชฺญาตฺวา ปรานฺ ตุจฺฉีกุรฺวฺวนฺติ เอตาทฺฤคฺภฺย: , กิยทฺภฺย อิมํ ทฺฤษฺฏานฺตํ กถยามาสฯ
He also spoke this parable to certain people who were convinced of their own righteousness, and who despised all others:
10 เอก: ผิรูศฺยปร: กรสญฺจายี ทฺวาวิเมา ปฺรารฺถยิตุํ มนฺทิรํ คเตาฯ
“Two men went up into the temple to pray; one was a Pharisee, and the other was a tax collector.
11 ตโต'เสา ผิรูเศฺยกปารฺเศฺว ติษฺฐนฺ เห อีศฺวร อหมนฺยโลกวตฺ โลฐยิตานฺยายี ปารทาริกศฺจ น ภวามิ อสฺย กรสญฺจายินสฺตุลฺยศฺจ น, ตสฺมาตฺตฺวำ ธนฺยํ วทามิฯ
The Pharisee stood and prayed by himself like this: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like the rest of men: extortionists, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
12 สปฺตสุ ทิเนษุ ทินทฺวยมุปวสามิ สรฺวฺวสมฺปตฺเต รฺทศมำศํ ททามิ จ, เอตตฺกถำ กถยนฺ ปฺรารฺถยามาสฯ
I fast twice a week. I give tithes of all that I get.’
13 กินฺตุ ส กรสญฺจายิ ทูเร ติษฺฐนฺ สฺวรฺคํ ทฺรษฺฏุํ เนจฺฉนฺ วกฺษสิ กราฆาตํ กุรฺวฺวนฺ เห อีศฺวร ปาปิษฺฐํ มำ ทยสฺว, อิตฺถํ ปฺรารฺถยามาสฯ
But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn’t even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his chest, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’
14 ยุษฺมานหํ วทามิ, ตโยรฺทฺวโย รฺมเธฺย เกวล: กรสญฺจายี ปุณฺยวตฺเตฺวน คณิโต นิชคฺฤหํ ชคาม, ยโต ย: กศฺจิตฺ สฺวมุนฺนมยติ ส นามยิษฺยเต กินฺตุ ย: กศฺจิตฺ สฺวํ นมยติ ส อุนฺนมยิษฺยเตฯ
I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
15 อถ ศิศูนำ คาตฺรสฺปรฺศารฺถํ โลกาสฺตานฺ ตสฺย สมีปมานินฺยุ: ศิษฺยาสฺตทฺ ทฺฤษฺฏฺวาเนตฺฤนฺ ตรฺชยามาสุ: ,
They were also bringing their babies to him, that he might touch them. But when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
16 กินฺตุ ยีศุสฺตานาหูย ชคาท, มนฺนิกฏมฺ อาคนฺตุํ ศิศูนฺ อนุชานีธฺวํ ตำศฺจ มา วารยต; ยต อีศฺวรราชฺยาธิการิณ เอษำ สทฺฤศา: ฯ
Yeshua summoned them, saying, “Allow the little children to come to me, and don’t hinder them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to such as these.
17 อหํ ยุษฺมานฺ ยถารฺถํ วทามิ, โย ชน: ศิโศ: สทฺฤโศ ภูตฺวา อีศฺวรราชฺยํ น คฺฤหฺลาติ ส เกนาปิ ปฺรกาเรณ ตตฺ ปฺรเวษฺฏุํ น ศกฺโนติฯ
Most certainly, I tell you, whoever doesn’t receive God’s Kingdom like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.”
A certain ruler asked him, saying, “Good Rabbi, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” (aiōnios g166)
19 ยีศุรุวาจ, มำ กุต: ปรมํ วทสิ? อีศฺวรํ วินา โกปิ ปรโม น ภวติฯ
Yeshua asked him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good, except one: God.
20 ปรทารานฺ มา คจฺฉ, นรํ มา ชหิ, มา โจรย, มิถฺยาสากฺษฺยํ มา เทหิ, มาตรํ ปิตรญฺจ สํมนฺยสฺว, เอตา ยา อาชฺญา: สนฺติ ตาสฺตฺวํ ชานาสิฯ
You know the commandments: ‘Don’t commit adultery,’ ‘Don’t murder,’ ‘Don’t steal,’ ‘Don’t give false testimony,’ ‘Honour your father and your mother.’”
21 ตทา ส อุวาจ, พาลฺยกาลาตฺ สรฺวฺวา เอตา อาจรามิฯ
He said, “I have observed all these things from my youth up.”
22 อิติ กถำ ศฺรุตฺวา ยีศุสฺตมวทตฺ, ตถาปิ ตไวกํ กรฺมฺม นฺยูนมาเสฺต, นิชํ สรฺวฺวสฺวํ วิกฺรีย ทริเทฺรโภฺย วิตร, ตสฺมาตฺ สฺวรฺเค ธนํ ปฺราปฺสฺยสิ; ตต อาคตฺย มมานุคามี ภวฯ
When Yeshua heard these things, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute it to the poor. Then you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.”
23 กินฺเตฺวตำ กถำ ศฺรุตฺวา โสธิปติ: ศุโศจ, ยตสฺตสฺย พหุธนมาสีตฺฯ
But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was very rich.
24 ตทา ยีศุสฺตมติโศกานฺวิตํ ทฺฤษฺฏฺวา ชคาท, ธนวตามฺ อีศฺวรราชฺยปฺรเวศ: กีทฺฤคฺ ทุษฺกร: ฯ
Yeshua, seeing that he became very sad, said, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter into God’s Kingdom!
25 อีศฺวรราเชฺย ธนิน: ปฺรเวศาตฺ สูเจศฺฉิเทฺรณ มหางฺคสฺย คมนาคมเน สุกเรฯ
For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter into God’s Kingdom.”
26 โศฺรตาร: ปปฺรจฺฉุสฺตรฺหิ เกน ปริตฺราณํ ปฺราปฺสฺยเต?
Those who heard it said, “Then who can be saved?”
27 ส อุกฺตวานฺ, ยนฺ มานุเษณาศกฺยํ ตทฺ อีศฺวเรณ ศกฺยํฯ
But he said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”
28 ตทา ปิตร อุวาจ, ปศฺย วยํ สรฺวฺวสฺวํ ปริตฺยชฺย ตว ปศฺจาทฺคามิโน'ภวามฯ
Peter said, “Look, we have left everything and followed you.”
29 ตต: ส อุวาจ, ยุษฺมานหํ ยถารฺถํ วทามิ, อีศฺวรราชฺยารฺถํ คฺฤหํ ปิตเรา ภฺราตฺฤคณํ ชายำ สนฺตานำศฺจ ตฺยกฺตวา
He said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children, for God’s Kingdom’s sake,
31 อนนฺตรํ ส ทฺวาทศศิษฺยานาหูย พภาเษ, ปศฺยต วยํ ยิรูศาลมฺนครํ ยาม: , ตสฺมาตฺ มนุษฺยปุเตฺร ภวิษฺยทฺวาทิภิรุกฺตํ ยทสฺติ ตทนุรูปํ ตํ ปฺรติ ฆฏิษฺยเต;
He took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things that are written through the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be completed.
32 วสฺตุตสฺตุ โส'นฺยเทศียานำ หเสฺตษุ สมรฺปยิษฺยเต, เต ตมุปหสิษฺยนฺติ, อนฺยายมาจริษฺยนฺติ ตทฺวปุษิ นิษฺฐีวํ นิกฺเษปฺสฺยนฺติ, กศาภิ: ปฺรหฺฤตฺย ตํ หนิษฺยนฺติ จ,
For he will be delivered up to the Gentiles, will be mocked, treated shamefully, and spit on.
33 กินฺตุ ตฺฤตียทิเน ส ศฺมศานาทฺ อุตฺถาสฺยติฯ
They will scourge and kill him. On the third day, he will rise again.”
34 เอตสฺยา: กถายา อภิปฺรายํ กิญฺจิทปิ เต โพทฺธุํ น เศกุ: เตษำ นิกเฏ'สฺปษฺฏตวาตฺ ตไสฺยตาสำ กถานามฺ อาศยํ เต ชฺญาตุํ น เศกุศฺจฯ
They understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they didn’t understand the things that were said.
35 อถ ตสฺมินฺ ยิรีโห: ปุรสฺยานฺติกํ ปฺราปฺเต กศฺจิทนฺธ: ปถ: ปารฺศฺว อุปวิศฺย ภิกฺษามฺ อกโรตฺ
As he came near Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the road, begging.
36 ส โลกสมูหสฺย คมนศพฺทํ ศฺรุตฺวา ตตฺการณํ ปฺฤษฺฏวานฺฯ
Hearing a multitude going by, he asked what this meant.
37 นาสรตียยีศุรฺยาตีติ โลไกรุกฺเต ส อุจฺไจรฺวกฺตุมาเรเภ,
They told him that Yeshua of Nazareth was passing by.
38 เห ทายูท: สนฺตาน ยีโศ มำ ทยสฺวฯ
He cried out, “Yeshua, you son of David, have mercy on me!”
39 ตโตคฺรคามินสฺตํ เมานี ติษฺเฐติ ตรฺชยามาสุ: กินฺตุ ส ปุนารุวนฺ อุวาจ, เห ทายูท: สนฺตาน มำ ทยสฺวฯ
Those who led the way rebuked him, that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “You son of David, have mercy on me!”
40 ตทา ยีศุ: สฺถคิโต ภูตฺวา สฺวานฺติเก ตมาเนตุมฺ อาทิเทศฯ
Standing still, Yeshua commanded him to be brought to him. When he had come near, he asked him,
41 ตต: ส ตสฺยานฺติกมฺ อาคมตฺ, ตทา ส ตํ ปปฺรจฺฉ, ตฺวํ กิมิจฺฉสิ? ตฺวทรฺถมหํ กึ กริษฺยามิ? ส อุกฺตวานฺ, เห ปฺรโภ'หํ ทฺรษฺฏุํ ลไภฯ
“What do you want me to do?” He said, “Lord, that I may see again.”
42 ตทา ยีศุรุวาจ, ทฺฤษฺฏิศกฺตึ คฺฤหาณ ตว ปฺรตฺยยสฺตฺวำ สฺวสฺถํ กฺฤตวานฺฯ
Yeshua said to him, “Receive your sight. Your faith has healed you.”
43 ตตสฺตตฺกฺษณาตฺ ตสฺย จกฺษุษี ปฺรสนฺเน; ตสฺมาตฺ ส อีศฺวรํ ธนฺยํ วทนฺ ตตฺปศฺจาทฺ ยเยา, ตทาโลกฺย สรฺเวฺว โลกา อีศฺวรํ ปฺรศํสิตุมฺ อาเรภิเรฯ
Immediately he received his sight and followed him, glorifying God. All the people, when they saw it, praised God.
