యోహనః 5

1 తతః పరం యిహూదీయానామ్ ఉత్సవ ఉపస్థితే యీశు ర్యిరూశాలమం గతవాన్|

After these things there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

2 తస్మిన్నగరే మేషనామ్నో ద్వారస్య సమీపే ఇబ్రీయభాషయా బైథేస్దా నామ్నా పిష్కరిణీ పఞ్చఘట్టయుక్తాసీత్|

Now there is in Jerusalem by the sheep [gate] a pool, which is called in Hebrew Bethesda, having five porches.

3 తస్యాస్తేషు ఘట్టేషు కిలాలకమ్పనమ్ అపేక్ష్య అన్ధఖఞ్చశుష్కాఙ్గాదయో బహవో రోగిణః పతన్తస్తిష్ఠన్తి స్మ|

In these lay a multitude of them that were sick, blind, halt, withered.

4 యతో విశేషకాలే తస్య సరసో వారి స్వర్గీయదూత ఏత్యాకమ్పయత్ తత్కీలాలకమ్పనాత్ పరం యః కశ్చిద్ రోగీ ప్రథమం పానీయమవారోహత్ స ఏవ తత్క్షణాద్ రోగముక్తోఽభవత్|

5 తదాష్టాత్రింశద్వర్షాణి యావద్ రోగగ్రస్త ఏకజనస్తస్మిన్ స్థానే స్థితవాన్|

And a certain man was there, which had been thirty and eight years in his infirmity.

6 యీశుస్తం శయితం దృష్ట్వా బహుకాలికరోగీతి జ్ఞాత్వా వ్యాహృతవాన్ త్వం కిం స్వస్థో బుభూషసి?

When Jesus saw him lying, and knew that he had been now a long time [in that case], he saith unto him, Wouldest thou be made whole?

7 తతో రోగీ కథితవాన్ హే మహేచ్ఛ యదా కీలాలం కమ్పతే తదా మాం పుష్కరిణీమ్ అవరోహయితుం మమ కోపి నాస్తి, తస్మాన్ మమ గమనకాలే కశ్చిదన్యోఽగ్రో గత్వా అవరోహతి|

The sick man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

8 తదా యీశురకథయద్ ఉత్తిష్ఠ, తవ శయ్యాముత్తోల్య గృహీత్వా యాహి|

Jesus saith unto him, Arise, take up thy bed, and walk.

9 స తత్క్షణాత్ స్వస్థో భూత్వా శయ్యాముత్తోల్యాదాయ గతవాన్ కిన్తు తద్దినం విశ్రామవారః|

And straightway the man was made whole, and took up his bed and walked. Now it was the sabbath on that day.

10 తస్మాద్ యిహూదీయాః స్వస్థం నరం వ్యాహరన్ అద్య విశ్రామవారే శయనీయమాదాయ న యాతవ్యమ్|

So the Jews said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath, and it is not lawful for thee to take up thy bed.

11 తతః స ప్రత్యవోచద్ యో మాం స్వస్థమ్ అకార్షీత్ శయనీయమ్ ఉత్తోల్యాదాయ యాతుం మాం స ఏవాదిశత్|

But he answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.

12 తదా తేఽపృచ్ఛన్ శయనీయమ్ ఉత్తోల్యాదాయ యాతుం య ఆజ్ఞాపయత్ స కః?

They asked him, Who is the man that said unto thee, Take up [thy bed], and walk?

13 కిన్తు స క ఇతి స్వస్థీభూతో నాజానాద్ యతస్తస్మిన్ స్థానే జనతాసత్త్వాద్ యీశుః స్థానాన్తరమ్ ఆగమత్|

But he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in the place.

14 తతః పరం యేశు ర్మన్దిరే తం నరం సాక్షాత్ప్రాప్యాకథయత్ పశ్యేదానీమ్ అనామయో జాతోసి యథాధికా దుర్దశా న ఘటతే తద్ధేతోః పాపం కర్మ్మ పునర్మాకార్షీః|

Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing befall thee.

15 తతః స గత్వా యిహూదీయాన్ అవదద్ యీశు ర్మామ్ అరోగిణమ్ అకార్షీత్|

The man went away, and told the Jews that it was Jesus which had made him whole.

16 తతో యీశు ర్విశ్రామవారే కర్మ్మేదృశం కృతవాన్ ఇతి హేతో ర్యిహూదీయాస్తం తాడయిత్వా హన్తుమ్ అచేష్టన్త|

And for this cause did the Jews persecute Jesus, because he did these things on the sabbath.

17 యీశుస్తానాఖ్యత్ మమ పితా యత్ కార్య్యం కరోతి తదనురూపమ్ అహమపి కరోతి|

But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh even until now, and I work.

18 తతో యిహూదీయాస్తం హన్తుం పునరయతన్త యతో విశ్రామవారం నామన్యత తదేవ కేవలం న అధికన్తు ఈశ్వరం స్వపితరం ప్రోచ్య స్వమపీశ్వరతుల్యం కృతవాన్|

For this cause therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only brake the sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

19 పశ్చాద్ యీశురవదద్ యుష్మానహం యథార్థతరం వదామి పుత్రః పితరం యద్యత్ కర్మ్మ కుర్వ్వన్తం పశ్యతి తదతిరిక్తం స్వేచ్ఛాతః కిమపి కర్మ్మ కర్త్తుం న శక్నోతి| పితా యత్ కరోతి పుత్రోపి తదేవ కరోతి|

Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father doing: for what things soever he doeth, these the Son also doeth in like manner.

20 పితా పుత్రే స్నేహం కరోతి తస్మాత్ స్వయం యద్యత్ కర్మ్మ కరోతి తత్సర్వ్వం పుత్రం దర్శయతి; యథా చ యుష్మాకం ఆశ్చర్య్యజ్ఞానం జనిష్యతే తదర్థమ్ ఇతోపి మహాకర్మ్మ తం దర్శయిష్యతి|

For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and greater works than these will he shew him, that ye may marvel.

21 వస్తుతస్తు పితా యథా ప్రమితాన్ ఉత్థాప్య సజివాన్ కరోతి తద్వత్ పుత్రోపి యం యం ఇచ్ఛతి తం తం సజీవం కరోతి|

For as the Father raiseth the dead and quickeneth them, even so the Son also quickeneth whom he will.

22 సర్వ్వే పితరం యథా సత్కుర్వ్వన్తి తథా పుత్రమపి సత్కారయితుం పితా స్వయం కస్యాపి విచారమకృత్వా సర్వ్వవిచారాణాం భారం పుత్రే సమర్పితవాన్|

For neither doth the Father judge any man, but he hath given all judgment unto the Son;

23 యః పుత్రం సత్ కరోతి స తస్య ప్రేరకమపి సత్ కరోతి|

that all may honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which sent him.

24 యుష్మానాహం యథార్థతరం వదామి యో జనో మమ వాక్యం శ్రుత్వా మత్ప్రేరకే విశ్వసితి సోనన్తాయుః ప్రాప్నోతి కదాపి దణ్డబాజనం న భవతి నిధనాదుత్థాయ పరమాయుః ప్రాప్నోతి| (aiōnios g166)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth him that sent me, hath eternal life, and cometh not into judgment, but hath passed out of death into life. (aiōnios g166)

25 అహం యుష్మానతియథార్థం వదామి యదా మృతా ఈశ్వరపుత్రస్య నినాదం శ్రోష్యన్తి యే చ శ్రోష్యన్తి తే సజీవా భవిష్యన్తి సమయ ఏతాదృశ ఆయాతి వరమ్ ఇదానీమప్యుపతిష్ఠతి|

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour cometh, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear shall live.

26 పితా యథా స్వయఞ్జీవీ తథా పుత్రాయ స్వయఞ్జీవిత్వాధికారం దత్తవాన్|

For as the Father hath life in himself, even so gave he to the Son also to have life in himself:

27 స మనుష్యపుత్రః ఏతస్మాత్ కారణాత్ పితా దణ్డకరణాధికారమపి తస్మిన్ సమర్పితవాన్|

and he gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of man.

28 ఏతదర్థే యూయమ్ ఆశ్చర్య్యం న మన్యధ్వం యతో యస్మిన్ సమయే తస్య నినాదం శ్రుత్వా శ్మశానస్థాః సర్వ్వే బహిరాగమిష్యన్తి సమయ ఏతాదృశ ఉపస్థాస్యతి|

Marvel not at this: for the hour cometh, in which all that are in the tombs shall hear his voice,

29 తస్మాద్ యే సత్కర్మ్మాణి కృతవన్తస్త ఉత్థాయ ఆయుః ప్రాప్స్యన్తి యే చ కుకర్మాణి కృతవన్తస్త ఉత్థాయ దణ్డం ప్రాప్స్యన్తి|

And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done ill, unto the resurrection of judgment.

30 అహం స్వయం కిమపి కర్త్తుం న శక్నోమి యథా శుణోమి తథా విచారయామి మమ విచారఞ్చ న్యాయ్యః యతోహం స్వీయాభీష్టం నేహిత్వా మత్ప్రేరయితుః పితురిష్టమ్ ఈహే|

I can of myself do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is righteous; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

31 యది స్వస్మిన్ స్వయం సాక్ష్యం దదామి తర్హి తత్సాక్ష్యమ్ ఆగ్రాహ్యం భవతి;

If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.

32 కిన్తు మదర్థేఽపరో జనః సాక్ష్యం దదాతి మదర్థే తస్య యత్ సాక్ష్యం తత్ సత్యమ్ ఏతదప్యహం జానామి|

It is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.

33 యుష్మాభి ర్యోహనం ప్రతి లోకేషు ప్రేరితేషు స సత్యకథాయాం సాక్ష్యమదదాత్|

Ye have sent unto John, and he hath borne witness unto the truth.

34 మానుషాదహం సాక్ష్యం నోపేక్షే తథాపి యూయం యథా పరిత్రయధ్వే తదర్థమ్ ఇదం వాక్యం వదామి|

But the witness which I receive is not from man: howbeit I say these things, that ye may be saved.

35 యోహన్ దేదీప్యమానో దీప ఇవ తేజస్వీ స్థితవాన్ యూయమ్ అల్పకాలం తస్య దీప్త్యానన్దితుం సమమన్యధ్వం|

He was the lamp that burneth and shineth: and ye were willing to rejoice for a season in his light.

36 కిన్తు తత్ప్రమాణాదపి మమ గురుతరం ప్రమాణం విద్యతే పితా మాం ప్రేష్య యద్యత్ కర్మ్మ సమాపయితుం శక్త్తిమదదాత్ మయా కృతం తత్తత్ కర్మ్మ మదర్థే ప్రమాణం దదాతి|

But the witness which I have is greater than [that of] John: for the works which the Father hath given me to accomplish, the very works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.

37 యః పితా మాం ప్రేరితవాన్ మోపి మదర్థే ప్రమాణం దదాతి| తస్య వాక్యం యుష్మాభిః కదాపి న శ్రుతం తస్య రూపఞ్చ న దృష్టం

And the Father which sent me, he hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his form.

38 తస్య వాక్యఞ్చ యుష్మాకమ్ అన్తః కదాపి స్థానం నాప్నోతి యతః స యం ప్రేషితవాన్ యూయం తస్మిన్ న విశ్వసిథ|

And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he sent, him ye believe not.

39 ధర్మ్మపుస్తకాని యూయమ్ ఆలోచయధ్వం తై ర్వాక్యైరనన్తాయుః ప్రాప్స్యామ ఇతి యూయం బుధ్యధ్వే తద్ధర్మ్మపుస్తకాని మదర్థే ప్రమాణం దదతి| (aiōnios g166)

Ye search the scriptures, because ye think that in them ye have eternal life; and these are they which bear witness of me; (aiōnios g166)

40 తథాపి యూయం పరమాయుఃప్రాప్తయే మమ సంనిధిమ్ న జిగమిషథ|

and ye will not come to me, that ye may have life.

41 అహం మానుషేభ్యః సత్కారం న గృహ్లామి|

I receive not glory from men.

42 అహం యుష్మాన్ జానామి; యుష్మాకమన్తర ఈశ్వరప్రేమ నాస్తి|

But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in yourselves.

43 అహం నిజపితు ర్నామ్నాగతోస్మి తథాపి మాం న గృహ్లీథ కిన్తు కశ్చిద్ యది స్వనామ్నా సమాగమిష్యతి తర్హి తం గ్రహీష్యథ|

I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

44 యూయమ్ ఈశ్వరాత్ సత్కారం న చిష్టత్వా కేవలం పరస్పరం సత్కారమ్ చేద్ ఆదధ్వ్వే తర్హి కథం విశ్వసితుం శక్నుథ?

How can ye believe, which receive glory one of another, and the glory that [cometh] from the only God ye seek not?

45 పుతుః సమీపేఽహం యుష్మాన్ అపవదిష్యామీతి మా చిన్తయత యస్మిన్, యస్మిన్ యుష్మాకం విశ్వసః సఏవ మూసా యుష్మాన్ అపవదతి|

Think not that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, [even] Moses, on whom ye have set your hope.

46 యది యూయం తస్మిన్ వ్యశ్వసిష్యత తర్హి మయ్యపి వ్యశ్వసిష్యత, యత్ స మయి లిఖితవాన్|

For if ye believed Moses, ye would believe me; for he wrote of me.

47 తతో యది తేన లిఖితవాని న ప్రతిథ తర్హి మమ వాక్యాని కథం ప్రత్యేష్యథ?

But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
