1 ததா³ நிஸ்தாரோத்ஸவகிண்வஹீநபூபோத்ஸவயோராரம்ப⁴ஸ்ய தி³நத்³வயே (அ)வஸி²ஷ்டே ப்ரதா⁴நயாஜகா அத்⁴யாபகாஸ்²ச கேநாபி ச²லேந யீஸு²ம்’ த⁴ர்த்தாம்’ ஹந்துஞ்ச ம்ரு’க³யாஞ்சக்ரிரே;
Now it was the Passover and the Unleavened [cakes], after two days. And the High-priests and Scribes were seeking, how, with guile, they might secure, and lay him;
2 கிந்து லோகாநாம்’ கலஹப⁴யாதூ³சிரே, நசோத்ஸவகால உசிதமேததி³தி|
for they were saying—Not in the feast, lest there be an uproar of the people.
3 அநந்தரம்’ பை³த²நியாபுரே ஸி²மோநகுஷ்டி²நோ க்³ரு’ஹே யோஸௌ² போ⁴த்குமுபவிஷ்டே ஸதி காசித்³ யோஷித் பாண்ட³ரபாஷாணஸ்ய ஸம்புடகேந மஹார்க்⁴யோத்தமதைலம் ஆநீய ஸம்புடகம்’ ப⁴ம்’க்த்வா தஸ்யோத்தமாங்கே³ தைலதா⁴ராம்’ பாதயாஞ்சக்ரே|
And, he being in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, as he was reclining, there came a woman, holding an alabaster-jar of perfume, pure spikenard, very costly; and breaking the jar she was pouring down [the perfume], upon his head.
4 தஸ்மாத் கேசித் ஸ்வாந்தே குப்யந்த: கதி²தவம்’ந்த: குதோயம்’ தைலாபவ்யய: ?
But there were some much displeased among themselves—To what end hath, this waste of the perfume happened?
5 யத்³யேதத் தைல வ்யக்ரேஷ்யத தர்ஹி முத்³ராபாத³ஸ²தத்ரயாத³ப்யதி⁴கம்’ தஸ்ய ப்ராப்தமூல்யம்’ த³ரித்³ரலோகேப்⁴யோ தா³துமஸ²க்ஷ்யத, கதா²மேதாம்’ கத²யித்வா தயா யோஷிதா ஸாகம்’ வாசாயுஹ்யந்|
For this perfume could have been sold for above three hundred denaries, and given unto the destitute! and they were indignant with her.
6 கிந்து யீஸு²ருவாச, குத ஏதஸ்யை க்ரு’ச்ச்²ரம்’ த³தா³ஸி? மஹ்யமியம்’ கர்ம்மோத்தமம்’ க்ரு’தவதீ|
But, Jesus, said—Let her alone! Why are ye reproaching, her? A seemly work, hath she wrought, in me;
7 த³ரித்³ரா: ஸர்வ்வதா³ யுஷ்மாபி⁴: ஸஹ திஷ்ட²ந்தி, தஸ்மாத்³ யூயம்’ யதே³ச்ச²த² ததை³வ தாநுபகர்த்தாம்’ ஸ²க்நுத², கிந்த்வஹம்’ யுபா⁴பி⁴: ஸஹ நிரந்தரம்’ ந திஷ்டா²மி|
For, always, have ye, the destitute, with you, and whensoever ye please, ye can, unto them, [at any time] do well! But, me, not, always, have ye.
8 அஸ்யா யதா²ஸாத்⁴யம்’ ததை²வாகரோதி³யம்’, ஸ்²மஸா²நயாபநாத் பூர்வ்வம்’ ஸமேத்ய மத்³வபுஷி தைலம் அமர்த்³த³யத்|
What she had, she used, —She took it beforehand to anoint my body for the burial;
9 அஹம்’ யுஷ்மப்⁴யம்’ யதா²ர்த²ம்’ கத²யாமி, ஜக³தாம்’ மத்⁴யே யத்ர யத்ர ஸுஸம்’வாதோ³யம்’ ப்ரசாரயிஷ்யதே தத்ர தத்ர யோஷித ஏதஸ்யா: ஸ்மரணார்த²ம்’ தத்க்ரு’தகர்ம்மைதத் ப்ரசாரயிஷ்யதே|
And, verily, say unto you—Wheresoever the glad-message shall be proclaimed throughout the whole world, —also what she did, will be told for a memorial of her.
10 தத: பரம்’ த்³வாத³ஸா²நாம்’ ஸி²ஷ்யாணாமேக ஈஷ்கரியோதீயயிஹூதா³க்²யோ யீஸு²ம்’ பரகரேஷு ஸமர்பயிதும்’ ப்ரதா⁴நயாஜகாநாம்’ ஸமீபமியாய|
And, Judas Iscariot, who was one of he twelve, went away unto the High-priests, that, him, he might deliver up unto them.
11 தே தஸ்ய வாக்யம்’ ஸமாகர்ண்ய ஸந்துஷ்டா: ஸந்தஸ்தஸ்மை முத்³ரா தா³தும்’ ப்ரத்யஜாநத; தஸ்மாத் ஸ தம்’ தேஷாம்’ கரேஷு ஸமர்பணாயோபாயம்’ ம்ரு’க³யாமாஸ|
Now, when they heard, they rejoiced, and promised to give him, silver; and he was seeking how, at a favourable opportunity, he might, deliver him up.
12 அநந்தரம்’ கிண்வஸூ²ந்யபூபோத்ஸவஸ்ய ப்ரத²மே(அ)ஹநி நிஸ்தாரோத்மவார்த²ம்’ மேஷமாரணாஸமயே ஸி²ஷ்யாஸ்தம்’ பப்ரச்ச²: குத்ர க³த்வா வயம்’ நிஸ்தாரோத்ஸவஸ்ய போ⁴ஜ்யமாஸாத³யிஷ்யாம: ? கிமிச்ச²தி ப⁴வாந்?
And, on the first day of the unleavened cakes, when, the passover, they were slaying, his disciples say unto him—Where wilt thou, we depart and make ready, that thou mayest eat the passover?
13 ததா³நீம்’ ஸ தேஷாம்’ த்³வயம்’ ப்ரேரயந் ப³பா⁴ஷே யுவயோ: புரமத்⁴யம்’ க³தயோ: ஸதோ ர்யோ ஜந: ஸஜலகும்ப⁴ம்’ வஹந் யுவாம்’ ஸாக்ஷாத் கரிஷ்யதி தஸ்யைவ பஸ்²சாத்³ யாதம்’;
And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them—Go your way into the city, and there will meet you a man, a jar of water, bearing, —follow him;
14 ஸ யத் ஸத³நம்’ ப்ரவேக்ஷ்யதி தத்³ப⁴வநபதிம்’ வத³தம்’, கு³ருராஹ யத்ர ஸஸி²ஷ்யோஹம்’ நிஸ்தாரோத்ஸவீயம்’ போ⁴ஜநம்’ கரிஷ்யாமி, ஸா போ⁴ஜநஸா²லா குத்ராஸ்தி?
and, wheresoever he shall enter, say ye unto the householder—The teacher, saith, Where is my lodging, where, the passover, with my disciples, I may eat?
15 தத: ஸ பரிஷ்க்ரு’தாம்’ ஸுஸஜ்ஜிதாம்’ ப்³ரு’ஹதீசஞ்ச யாம்’ ஸா²லாம்’ த³ர்ஸ²யிஷ்யதி தஸ்யாமஸ்மத³ர்த²ம்’ போ⁴ஜ்யத்³ரவ்யாண்யாஸாத³யதம்’|
And, he, unto you, will shew, a large upper-room, spread ready, and, there, make ye ready for us.
16 தத: ஸி²ஷ்யௌ ப்ரஸ்தா²ய புரம்’ ப்ரவிஸ்²ய ஸ யதோ²க்தவாந் ததை²வ ப்ராப்ய நிஸ்தாரோத்ஸவஸ்ய போ⁴ஜ்யத்³ரவ்யாணி ஸமாஸாத³யேதாம்|
And the disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found, according as he had said unto them, —and they made ready the passover.
17 அநந்தரம்’ யீஸு²: ஸாயம்’காலே த்³வாத³ஸ²பி⁴: ஸி²ஷ்யை: ஸார்த்³த⁴ம்’ ஜகா³ம;
And, when evening arrived, he cometh, with the twelve.
18 ஸர்வ்வேஷு போ⁴ஜநாய ப்ரோபவிஷ்டேஷு ஸ தாநுதி³தவாந் யுஷ்மாநஹம்’ யதா²ர்த²ம்’ வ்யாஹராமி, அத்ர யுஷ்மாகமேகோ ஜநோ யோ மயா ஸஹ பு⁴ம்’க்தே மாம்’ பரகேரேஷு ஸமர்பயிஷ்யதே|
And, as they were reclining and eating, Jesus said—Verily, I say unto you—One from among you, will deliver me up, he that is eating with me.
19 ததா³நீம்’ தே து³: கி²தா: ஸந்த ஏகைகஸ²ஸ்தம்’ ப்ரஷ்டுமாரப்³த⁴வந்த: ஸ கிமஹம்’? பஸ்²சாத்³ அந்ய ஏகோபி⁴த³தே⁴ ஸ கிமஹம்’?
They began to be grieved, and to be saying unto him, one by one, —Can it be, I?
20 தத: ஸ ப்ரத்யவத³த்³ ஏதேஷாம்’ த்³வாத³ஸா²நாம்’ யோ ஜநோ மயா ஸமம்’ போ⁴ஜநாபாத்ரே பாணிம்’ மஜ்ஜயிஷ்யதி ஸ ஏவ|
And, he, said unto them—One of the twelve, he that is dipping with me into the [one] bowl:
21 மநுஜதநயமதி⁴ யாத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ லிகி²தமாஸ்தே தத³நுரூபா க³திஸ்தஸ்ய ப⁴விஷ்யதி, கிந்து யோ ஜநோ மாநவஸுதம்’ ஸமர்பயிஷ்யதே ஹந்த தஸ்ய ஜந்மாபா⁴வே ஸதி ப⁴த்³ரமப⁴விஷ்யத்|
Because, the Son of Man, indeed, goeth his way, —according as it is written concerning him; but alas! for that man, through whom the Son of Man is being delivered up, —Well for him, if that man, had not been born!
22 அபரஞ்ச தேஷாம்’ போ⁴ஜநஸமயே யீஸு²: பூபம்’ க்³ரு’ஹீத்வேஸ்²வரகு³ணாந் அநுகீர்த்ய ப⁴ங்க்த்வா தேப்⁴யோ த³த்த்வா ப³பா⁴ஷே, ஏதத்³ க்³ரு’ஹீத்வா பு⁴ஞ்ஜீத்⁴வம் ஏதந்மம விக்³ரஹரூபம்’|
And, as they were eating, taking a loaf, he blessed and brake, and gave unto them, and said—Take! this, is, my body;
23 அநந்தரம்’ ஸ கம்’ஸம்’ க்³ரு’ஹீத்வேஸ்²வரஸ்ய கு³ணாந் கீர்த்தயித்வா தேப்⁴யோ த³தௌ³, ததஸ்தே ஸர்வ்வே பபு: |
And, taking a cup, he offered thanks, and gave unto them; and they, all, drank of it.
24 அபரம்’ ஸ தாநவாதீ³த்³ ப³ஹூநாம்’ நிமித்தம்’ பாதிதம்’ மம நவீநநியமரூபம்’ ஸோ²ணிதமேதத்|
And he said unto them—This, is, my blood of the covenant, that is to be poured out in behalf of many.
25 யுஷ்மாநஹம்’ யதா²ர்த²ம்’ வதா³மி, ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய ராஜ்யே யாவத் ஸத்³யோஜாதம்’ த்³ராக்ஷாரஸம்’ ந பாஸ்யாமி, தாவத³ஹம்’ த்³ராக்ஷாப²லரஸம்’ புந ர்ந பாஸ்யாமி|
Verily, I say unto you—No more, will I in anywise drink of the fruit of the vine, until that day when I shall be drinking it new, in the kingdom of God.
26 தத³நந்தரம்’ தே கீ³தமேகம்’ ஸம்’கீ³ய ப³ஹி ர்ஜைதுநம்’ ஸி²க²ரிணம்’ யயு:
And, having sung praise, they went forth unto the Mount of Olives.
27 அத² யீஸு²ஸ்தாநுவாச நிஸா²யாமஸ்யாம்’ மயி யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸர்வ்வேஷாம்’ ப்ரத்யூஹோ ப⁴விஷ்யதி யதோ லிகி²தமாஸ்தே யதா², மேஷாணாம்’ ரக்ஷகஞ்சாஹம்’ ப்ரஹரிஷ்யாமி வை தத: | மேஷாணாம்’ நிவஹோ நூநம்’ ப்ரவிகீர்ணோ ப⁴விஷ்யதி|
And Jesus saith unto them—Ye, all, will find cause of stumbling, because it is written, —I will smite the shepherd, and, the sheep, will be scattered abroad;
28 கந்து மது³த்தா²நே ஜாதே யுஷ்மாகமக்³ரே(அ)ஹம்’ கா³லீலம்’ வ்ரஜிஷ்யாமி|
But, after my arising, I will go before you into Galilee.
29 ததா³ பிதர: ப்ரதிப³பா⁴ஷே, யத்³யபி ஸர்வ்வேஷாம்’ ப்ரத்யூஹோ ப⁴வதி ததா²பி மம நைவ ப⁴விஷ்யதி|
And, Peter, said unto him—Even if, all, shall find cause of stumbling, certainly not, I.
30 ததோ யீஸு²ருக்தாவாந் அஹம்’ துப்⁴யம்’ தத்²யம்’ கத²யாமி, க்ஷணாதா³யாமத்³ய குக்குடஸ்ய த்³விதீயவாரரவணாத் பூர்வ்வம்’ த்வம்’ வாரத்ரயம்’ மாமபஹ்நோஷ்யஸே|
And Jesus saith unto him—Verily, I say unto thee, thou, this day, in this night, before that twice a cock crow, thrice, will deny me.
31 கிந்து ஸ கா³ட⁴ம்’ வ்யாஹரத்³ யத்³யபி த்வயா ஸார்த்³த⁴ம்’ மம ப்ராணோ யாதி ததா²பி கத²மபி த்வாம்’ நாபஹ்நோஷ்யே; ஸர்வ்வே(அ)பீதரே ததை²வ ப³பா⁴ஷிரே|
But he, most vehemently, was saying—Even though I must needs die with thee, in nowise, will I, deny thee. Likewise, indeed, were, all besides, saying.
32 அபரஞ்ச தேஷு கே³த்ஸி²மாநீநாமகம்’ ஸ்தா²ந க³தேஷு ஸ ஸி²ஷ்யாந் ஜகா³த³, யாவத³ஹம்’ ப்ரார்த²யே தாவத³த்ர ஸ்தா²நே யூயம்’ ஸமுபவிஸ²த|
And they come into an estate the name of which is Gethsemane, and he saith unto his disciples—Sit ye here, while I pray.
33 அத² ஸ பிதரம்’ யாகூப³ம்’ யோஹநஞ்ச க்³ரு’ஹீத்வா வவ்ராஜ; அத்யந்தம்’ த்ராஸிதோ வ்யாகுலிதஸ்²ச தேப்⁴ய: கத²யாமாஸ,
And he taketh Peter and James and John with him, and began to be exceedingly amazed, and in great distress;
34 நித⁴நகாலவத் ப்ராணோ மே(அ)தீவ த³: க²மேதி, யூயம்’ ஜாக்³ரதோத்ர ஸ்தா²நே திஷ்ட²த|
and he saith unto them—Encompassed with grief is my soul, unto death: Abide ye here, and be watching.
35 தத: ஸ கிஞ்சித்³தூ³ரம்’ க³த்வா பூ⁴மாவதோ⁴முக²: பதித்வா ப்ரார்தி²தவாநேதத், யதி³ ப⁴விதும்’ ஸ²க்யம்’ தர்ஹி து³: க²ஸமயோயம்’ மத்தோ தூ³ரீப⁴வது|
And, going forward a little, he fell upon the ground, and was praying that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him;
36 அபரமுதி³தவாந் ஹே பித ர்ஹே பித: ஸர்வ்வேம்’ த்வயா ஸாத்⁴யம்’, ததோ ஹேதோரிமம்’ கம்’ஸம்’ மத்தோ தூ³ரீகுரு, கிந்து தந் மமேச்சா²தோ ந தவேச்சா²தோ ப⁴வது|
and was saying—Abba! O Father! All things, are possible to thee: Bear aside this cup from me; but not what, I, will, but what, thou, [wilt].
37 தத: பரம்’ ஸ ஏத்ய தாந் நித்³ரிதாந் நிரீக்ஷ்ய பிதரம்’ ப்ரோவாச, ஸி²மோந் த்வம்’ கிம்’ நித்³ராஸி? க⁴டிகாமேகாம் அபி ஜாக³ரிதும்’ ந ஸ²க்நோஷி?
And he cometh and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter—Simon! art thou sleeping? Hadst thou not strength, one hour, to watch?
38 பரீக்ஷாயாம்’ யதா² ந பதத² தத³ர்த²ம்’ ஸசேதநா: ஸந்த: ப்ரார்த²யத்⁴வம்’; மந உத்³யுக்தமிதி ஸத்யம்’ கிந்து வபுரஸ²க்திகம்’|
Be watching and praying, that ye enter not into temptation: the, spirit, indeed, is willing, but, the flesh, weak.
39 அத² ஸ புநர்வ்ரஜித்வா பூர்வ்வவத் ப்ரார்த²யாஞ்சக்ரே|
And, again, departing, he prayed, [the same thing, saying].
40 பராவ்ரு’த்யாக³த்ய புநரபி தாந் நித்³ரிதாந் த³த³ர்ஸ² ததா³ தேஷாம்’ லோசநாநி நித்³ரயா பூர்ணாநி, தஸ்மாத்தஸ்மை கா கதா² கத²யிதவ்யா த ஏதத்³ போ³த்³து⁴ம்’ ந ஸே²கு: |
And, again, coming, he found them sleeping, for their eyes were being, weighed down, —and they knew not what to answer him.
41 தத: பரம்’ த்ரு’தீயவாரம்’ ஆக³த்ய தேப்⁴யோ (அ)கத²யத்³ இதா³நீமபி ஸ²யித்வா விஸ்²ராம்யத²? யதே²ஷ்டம்’ ஜாதம்’, ஸமயஸ்²சோபஸ்தி²த: பஸ்²யத மாநவதநய: பாபிலோகாநாம்’ பாணிஷு ஸமர்ப்யதே|
And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them—Ye are sleeping the remaining time and taking your rest: —It is enough! the hour hath come! Lo! the Son of Man is being delivered up into the hands of sinners.
42 உத்திஷ்ட²த, வயம்’ வ்ரஜாமோ யோ ஜநோ மாம்’ பரபாணிஷு ஸமர்பயிஷ்யதே பஸ்²யத ஸ ஸமீபமாயாத: |
Be rousing yourselves, let us be leading on! Lo! he that is delivering me up, hath drawn near.
43 இமாம்’ கதா²ம்’ கத²யதி ஸ, ஏதர்ஹித்³வாத³ஸா²நாமேகோ யிஹூதா³ நாமா ஸி²ஷ்ய: ப்ரதா⁴நயாஜகாநாம் உபாத்⁴யாயாநாம்’ ப்ராசீநலோகாநாஞ்ச ஸந்நிதே⁴: க²ங்க³லகு³ட³தா⁴ரிணோ ப³ஹுலோகாந் க்³ரு’ஹீத்வா தஸ்ய ஸமீப உபஸ்தி²தவாந்|
And, straightway, while yet he is speaking, Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, cometh near, and, with him, a multitude, with swords and clubs, from the High-priests and the Scribes and the Elders.
44 அபரஞ்சாஸௌ பரபாணிஷு ஸமர்பயிதா பூர்வ்வமிதி ஸங்கேதம்’ க்ரு’தவாந் யமஹம்’ சும்பி³ஷ்யாமி ஸ ஏவாஸௌ தமேவ த்⁴ரு’த்வா ஸாவதா⁴நம்’ நயத|
He that is delivering him up hath given an agreed sign unto them, saying—Whomsoever I shall kiss, he, it is! Secure him, and be leading away, safely.
45 அதோ ஹேதோ: ஸ ஆக³த்யைவ யோஸோ²: ஸவித⁴ம்’ க³த்வா ஹே கு³ரோ ஹே கு³ரோ, இத்யுக்த்வா தம்’ சுசும்ப³|
And, coming, straightway, stepping forward to him, he saith—Rabbi! and openly kissed him.
46 ததா³ தே தது³பரி பாணீநர்பயித்வா தம்’ த³த்⁴நு: |
And, they, thrust their hands on him, and secured him.
47 ததஸ்தஸ்ய பார்ஸ்²வஸ்தா²நாம்’ லோகாநாமேக: க²ங்க³ம்’ நிஷ்கோஷயந் மஹாயாஜகஸ்ய தா³ஸமேகம்’ ப்ரஹ்ரு’த்ய தஸ்ய கர்ணம்’ சிச்சே²த³|
[A certain] one of the by-standers, drawing a sword, smote the servant of the High priest, and took off his, ear.
48 பஸ்²சாத்³ யீஸு²ஸ்தாந் வ்யாஜஹார க²ங்கா³ந் லகு³டா³ம்’ஸ்²ச க்³ரு’ஹீத்வா மாம்’ கிம்’ சௌரம்’ த⁴ர்த்தாம்’ ஸமாயாதா: ?
And Jesus, answering, said unto them—As against a robber, came ye forth, with swords and clubs, to arrest me?
49 மத்⁴யேமந்தி³ரம்’ ஸமுபதி³ஸ²ந் ப்ரத்யஹம்’ யுஷ்மாபி⁴: ஸஹ ஸ்தி²தவாநதஹம்’, தஸ்மிந் காலே யூயம்’ மாம்’ நாதீ³த⁴ரத, கிந்த்வநேந ஸா²ஸ்த்ரீயம்’ வசநம்’ ஸேத⁴நீயம்’|
Daily, was I with you, in the temple, teaching; and ye secured me not. But, that, the Scriptures, may be fulfilled…
50 ததா³ ஸர்வ்வே ஸி²ஷ்யாஸ்தம்’ பரித்யஜ்ய பலாயாஞ்சக்ரிரே|
And they, all, forsook, him, and fled.
51 அதை²கோ யுவா மாநவோ நக்³நகாயே வஸ்த்ரமேகம்’ நிதா⁴ய தஸ்ய பஸ்²சாத்³ வ்ரஜந் யுவலோகை ர்த்⁴ரு’தோ
And, a certain young man, was following with him, having cast about himself a fine Indian cloth, over his naked body, —and they are securing him;
52 வஸ்த்ரம்’ விஹாய நக்³ந: பலாயாஞ்சக்ரே|
but, he, leaving behind the cloth, fled naked.
53 அபரஞ்ச யஸ்மிந் ஸ்தா²நே ப்ரதா⁴நயாஜகா உபாத்⁴யாயா: ப்ராசீநலோகாஸ்²ச மஹாயாஜகேந ஸஹ ஸத³ஸி ஸ்தி²தாஸ்தஸ்மிந் ஸ்தா²நே மஹாயாஜகஸ்ய ஸமீபம்’ யீஸு²ம்’ நிந்யு: |
And they led away Jesus unto the High-priest; and all the High-priests and the Elders and the Scribes gather together.
54 பிதரோ தூ³ரே தத்பஸ்²சாத்³ இத்வா மஹாயாஜகஸ்யாட்டாலிகாம்’ ப்ரவிஸ்²ய கிங்கரை: ஸஹோபவிஸ்²ய வஹ்நிதாபம்’ ஜக்³ராஹ|
And, Peter, afar of, followed him, as far as within, into the court of the High-priest; and was sitting with the attendants, and warming himself by the light.
55 ததா³நீம்’ ப்ரதா⁴நயாஜகா மந்த்ரிணஸ்²ச யீஸு²ம்’ கா⁴தயிதும்’ தத்ப்ராதிகூல்யேந ஸாக்ஷிணோ ம்ரு’க³யாஞ்சக்ரிரே, கிந்து ந ப்ராப்தா: |
Now, the High-priest, and all the High-council, were seeking, against Jesus, testimony, with the intent to put him to death, —and were not finding any;
56 அநேகைஸ்தத்³விருத்³த⁴ம்’ ம்ரு’ஷாஸாக்ஷ்யே த³த்தேபி தேஷாம்’ வாக்யாநி ந ஸமக³ச்ச²ந்த|
for, many, were bearing false-witness against him, and the testimonies were not, agreed.
57 ஸர்வ்வஸே²ஷே கியந்த உத்தா²ய தஸ்ய ப்ராதிகூல்யேந ம்ரு’ஷாஸாக்ஷ்யம்’ த³த்த்வா கத²யாமாஸு: ,
And some, standing up, were bearing false-witness against him, saying—
58 இத³ம்’ கரக்ரு’தமந்தி³ரம்’ விநாஸ்²ய தி³நத்ரயமத்⁴யே புநரபரம் அகரக்ரு’தம்’ மந்தி³ரம்’ நிர்ம்மாஸ்யாமி, இதி வாக்யம் அஸ்ய முகா²த் ஸ்²ருதமஸ்மாபி⁴ரிதி|
We, heard him saying, I, will pull down this shrine, the one made by hand, and, in three days, another, not made by hand, will I raise.
59 கிந்து தத்ராபி தேஷாம்’ ஸாக்ஷ்யகதா² ந ஸங்கா³தா: |
And, not even so, was the testimony, agreed.
60 அத² மஹாயாஜகோ மத்⁴யேஸப⁴ம் உத்தா²ய யீஸு²ம்’ வ்யாஜஹார, ஏதே ஜநாஸ்த்வயி யத் ஸாக்ஷ்யமது³: த்வமேதஸ்ய கிமப்யுத்தரம்’ கிம்’ ந தா³ஸ்யஸி?
And, the High-priest rising up into the midst, questioned Jesus, saying—Answerest thou, nothing? What are these, against thee, witnessing?
61 கிந்து ஸ கிமப்யுத்தரம்’ ந த³த்வா மௌநீபூ⁴ய தஸ்யௌ; ததோ மஹாயாஜக: புநரபி தம்’ ப்ரு’ஷ்டாவாந் த்வம்’ ஸச்சிதா³நந்த³ஸ்ய தநயோ (அ)பி⁴ஷிக்தஸ்த்ரதா?
But, he, was silent, and answered, nothing. Again, the High-priest was questioning him, and saith unto him—Art, thou, the Christ the Son of the Blessed?
62 ததா³ யீஸு²ஸ்தம்’ ப்ரோவாச ப⁴வாம்யஹம் யூயஞ்ச ஸர்வ்வஸ²க்திமதோ த³க்ஷீணபார்ஸ்²வே ஸமுபவிஸ²ந்தம்’ மேக⁴ மாருஹ்ய ஸமாயாந்தஞ்ச மநுஷ்யபுத்ரம்’ ஸந்த்³ரக்ஷ்யத²|
And Jesus said—I, am; and ye shall see the Son of Man—sitting, on the right hand, of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.
63 ததா³ மஹாயாஜக: ஸ்வம்’ வமநம்’ சி²த்வா வ்யாவஹரத்
And, the High-priest, having rent asunder his inner-garments, saith—What, further, need have we, of witnesses?
64 கிமஸ்மாகம்’ ஸாக்ஷிபி⁴: ப்ரயோஜநம்? ஈஸ்²வரநிந்தா³வாக்யம்’ யுஷ்மாபி⁴ரஸ்²ராவி கிம்’ விசாரயத²? ததா³நீம்’ ஸர்வ்வே ஜக³து³ரயம்’ நித⁴நத³ண்ட³மர்ஹதி|
Heard ye the profanity? What, to you, doth it appear? And they, all, condemned him to be, worthy, of, death.
65 தத: கஸ்²சித் கஸ்²சித் தத்³வபுஷி நிஷ்டீ²வம்’ நிசிக்ஷேப ததா² தந்முக²மாச்சா²த்³ய சபேடேந ஹத்வா க³தி³தவாந் க³ணயித்வா வத³, அநுசராஸ்²ச சபேடைஸ்தமாஜக்⁴நு:
And some began to be spitting at him, and, covering up his face, and to be buffeting him, and saying to him—Prophesy! And, the attendants, with smart blows, took him.
66 தத: பரம்’ பிதரே(அ)ட்டாலிகாத⁴: கோஷ்டே² திஷ்ட²தி மஹாயாஜகஸ்யைகா தா³ஸீ ஸமேத்ய
And, Peter, being, below in the court, there cometh one of the maid-servants of the High-priest;
67 தம்’ விஹ்நிதாபம்’ க்³ரு’ஹ்லந்தம்’ விலோக்ய தம்’ ஸுநிரீக்ஷ்ய ப³பா⁴ஷே த்வமபி நாஸரதீயயீஸோ²: ஸங்கி³நாம் ஏகோ ஜந ஆஸீ: |
and, seeing Peter warming himself, having looked at him, saith—And, thou, wast, with the Nazarene—with Jesus.
68 கிந்து ஸோபஹ்நுத்ய ஜகா³த³ தமஹம்’ ந வத்³மி த்வம்’ யத் கத²யமி தத³ப்யஹம்’ ந பு³த்³த்⁴யே| ததா³நீம்’ பிதரே சத்வரம்’ க³தவதி குக்குடோ ருராவ|
But, he, denied, saying—I neither know [him], nor do I well understand what, thou, sayest; and went out into the porch.
69 அதா²ந்யா தா³ஸீ பிதரம்’ த்³ரு’ஷ்ட்வா ஸமீபஸ்தா²ந் ஜநாந் ஜகா³த³ அயம்’ தேஷாமேகோ ஜந: |
And, the maid-servant, seeing him, began, again, to be saying unto the by-standers—This one, is, from among them.
70 தத: ஸ த்³விதீயவாரம் அபஹ்நுதவாந் பஸ்²சாத் தத்ரஸ்தா² லோகா: பிதரம்’ ப்ரோசுஸ்த்வமவஸ்²யம்’ தேஷாமேகோ ஜந: யதஸ்த்வம்’ கா³லீலீயோ நர இதி தவோச்சாரணம்’ ப்ரகாஸ²யதி|
But, he, again, was denying. And, after a little again, the by-standers, were saying unto Peter—Truly, thou, art, from among them; for thou art, a Galilaean, also.
71 ததா³ ஸ ஸ²பதா²பி⁴ஸா²பௌ க்ரு’த்வா ப்ரோவாச யூயம்’ கதா²ம்’ கத²யத² தம்’ நரம்’ ந ஜாநே(அ)ஹம்’|
And, he, began to be cursing and swearing—I know not this man, of whom ye are speaking!
72 ததா³நீம்’ த்³விதீயவாரம்’ குக்குடோ (அ)ராவீத்| குக்குடஸ்ய த்³விதீயரவாத் பூர்வ்வம்’ த்வம்’ மாம்’ வாரத்ரயம் அபஹ்நோஷ்யஸி, இதி யத்³வாக்யம்’ யீஸு²நா ஸமுதி³தம்’ தத் ததா³ ஸம்’ஸ்ம்ரு’த்ய பிதரோ ரோதி³தும் ஆரப⁴த|
And, straightway, a second time, a cock, crowed; and Peter was reminded of the declaration, how Jesus had said to him—Before a cock, twice, crow, thrice, wilt thou deny me. And, when he thought thereon, he began to weep.
