1 தத: பரம்’ ப்ரபு⁴ரபராந் ஸப்ததிஸி²ஷ்யாந் நியுஜ்ய ஸ்வயம்’ யாநி நக³ராணி யாநி ஸ்தா²நாநி ச க³மிஷ்யதி தாநி நக³ராணி தாநி ஸ்தா²நாநி ச ப்ரதி த்³வௌ த்³வௌ ஜநௌ ப்ரஹிதவாந்|
And, after these things, the Lord appointed seventy two others, and sent them forth, two and two before his face, into every city and place whither, he himself, was about to come.
2 தேப்⁴ய: கத²யாமாஸ ச ஸ²ஸ்யாநி ப³ஹூநீதி ஸத்யம்’ கிந்து சே²த³கா அல்பே; தஸ்மாத்³தே⁴தோ: ஸ²ஸ்யக்ஷேத்ரே சே²த³காந் அபராநபி ப்ரேஷயிதும்’ க்ஷேத்ரஸ்வாமிநம்’ ப்ரார்த²யத்⁴வம்’|
And he was saying unto them—The harvest, indeed, is, great, but, the labourers, few; beg ye, therefore, of the Lord of the harvest, that he would thrust forth, labourers, into his harvest.
3 யூயம்’ யாத, பஸ்²யத, வ்ரு’காணாம்’ மத்⁴யே மேஷஸா²வகாநிவ யுஷ்மாந் ப்ரஹிணோமி|
Withdraw! Lo! I send you forth as lambs amid wolves.
4 யூயம்’ க்ஷுத்³ரம்’ மஹத்³ வா வஸநஸம்புடகம்’ பாது³காஸ்²ச மா க்³ரு’ஹ்லீத, மார்க³மத்⁴யே கமபி மா நமத ச|
Be not carrying purse, or satchel, or sandals, and, no one along the road, salute ye;
5 அபரஞ்ச யூயம்’ யத்³ யத் நிவேஸ²நம்’ ப்ரவிஸ²த² தத்ர நிவேஸ²நஸ்யாஸ்ய மங்க³லம்’ பூ⁴யாதி³தி வாக்யம்’ ப்ரத²மம்’ வத³த|
And, into whatsoever house ye enter, First, say, Peace to this house!
6 தஸ்மாத் தஸ்மிந் நிவேஸ²நே யதி³ மங்க³லபாத்ரம்’ ஸ்தா²ஸ்யதி தர்ஹி தந்மங்க³லம்’ தஸ்ய ப⁴விஷ்யதி, நோசேத் யுஷ்மாந் ப்ரதி பராவர்த்திஷ்யதே|
And, if the son of peace be, there, your peace, shall rest upon it; but, otherwise, at least, unto you, shall it return.
7 அபரஞ்ச தே யத்கிஞ்சித்³ தா³ஸ்யந்தி ததே³வ பு⁴க்த்வா பீத்வா தஸ்மிந்நிவேஸ²நே ஸ்தா²ஸ்யத²; யத: கர்ம்மகாரீ ஜநோ ப்⁴ரு’திம் அர்ஹதி; க்³ரு’ஹாத்³ க்³ரு’ஹம்’ மா யாஸ்யத²|
And, in the self-same house, abide ye, eating and drinking such things as they have; for, worthy, is the labourer, of his hire: be not removing from house to house.
8 அந்யச்ச யுஷ்மாஸு கிமபி நக³ரம்’ ப்ரவிஷ்டேஷு லோகா யதி³ யுஷ்மாகம் ஆதித்²யம்’ கரிஷ்யந்தி, தர்ஹி யத் கா²த்³யம் உபஸ்தா²ஸ்யந்தி ததே³வ கா²தி³ஷ்யத²|
And, into whatsoever city ye shall enter, and they bid you welcome, be eating such things as are set before you;
9 தந்நக³ரஸ்தா²ந் ரோகி³ண: ஸ்வஸ்தா²ந் கரிஷ்யத², ஈஸ்²வரீயம்’ ராஜ்யம்’ யுஷ்மாகம் அந்திகம் ஆக³மத் கதா²மேதாஞ்ச ப்ரசாரயிஷ்யத²|
And be curing the sick that are, therein, and be saying unto them—The kingdom of God hath drawn nigh upon you.
10 கிந்து கிமபி புரம்’ யுஷ்மாஸு ப்ரவிஷ்டேஷு லோகா யதி³ யுஷ்மாகம் ஆதித்²யம்’ ந கரிஷ்யந்தி, தர்ஹி தஸ்ய நக³ரஸ்ய பந்தா²நம்’ க³த்வா கதா²மேதாம்’ வதி³ஷ்யத²,
But, into whatsoever city ye shall enter, and they do not welcome you, going forth into the broadways thereof, say ye:
11 யுஷ்மாகம்’ நக³ரீயா யா தூ⁴ல்யோ(அ)ஸ்மாஸு ஸமலக³ந் தா அபி யுஷ்மாகம்’ ப்ராதிகூல்யேந ஸாக்ஷ்யார்த²ம்’ ஸம்பாதயாம: ; ததா²பீஸ்²வரராஜ்யம்’ யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸமீபம் ஆக³தம் இதி நிஸ்²சிதம்’ ஜாநீத|
Even the dust that cleaveth unto us, out of your city, unto our feet, do we wipe off against you; nevertheless, of this, be taking notice—The kingdom of God hath drawn near.
12 அஹம்’ யுஷ்மப்⁴யம்’ யதா²ர்த²ம்’ கத²யாமி, விசாரதி³நே தஸ்ய நக³ரஸ்ய த³ஸா²த: ஸிதோ³மோ த³ஸா² ஸஹ்யா ப⁴விஷ்யதி|
I tell you, for them of Sodom, in that day, more tolerable, will it be, than for that city.
13 ஹா ஹா கோராஸீந் நக³ர, ஹா ஹா பை³த்ஸைதா³நக³ர யுவயோர்மத்⁴யே யாத்³ரு’ஸா²நி ஆஸ்²சர்ய்யாணி கர்ம்மாண்யக்ரியந்த, தாநி கர்ம்மாணி யதி³ ஸோரஸீதோ³நோ ர்நக³ரயோரகாரிஷ்யந்த, ததா³ இதோ ப³ஹுதி³நபூர்வ்வம்’ தந்நிவாஸிந: ஸ²ணவஸ்த்ராணி பரிதா⁴ய கா³த்ரேஷு ப⁴ஸ்ம விலிப்ய ஸமுபவிஸ்²ய ஸமகே²த்ஸ்யந்த|
Alas for thee, Chorazin! Alas for thee, Bethsaida! Because, if, in Tyre and Zidon, had been done the works of power which have been down in you, of old, in sackcloth and ashes sitting, they would have repented.
14 அதோ விசாரதி³வஸே யுஷ்மாகம்’ த³ஸா²த: ஸோரஸீதோ³ந்நிவாஸிநாம்’ த³ஸா² ஸஹ்யா ப⁴விஷ்யதி|
Moreover, for Tyre and Zidon, more tolerable, will it be, in the judgment, than, for you.
And, thou, Capernaum, —Unto heaven, shalt thou be uplifted? …Unto hades, thou shalt be brought down! (Hadēs g86)
16 யோ ஜநோ யுஷ்மாகம்’ வாக்யம்’ க்³ரு’ஹ்லாதி ஸ மமைவ வாக்யம்’ க்³ரு’ஹ்லாதி; கிஞ்ச யோ ஜநோ யுஷ்மாகம் அவஜ்ஞாம்’ கரோதி ஸ மமைவாவஜ்ஞாம்’ கரோதி; யோ ஜநோ மமாவஜ்ஞாம்’ கரோதி ச ஸ மத்ப்ரேரகஸ்யைவாவஜ்ஞாம்’ கரோதி|
He that hearkeneth unto you, unto me, doth hearken, and, he that setteth you aside, doth set, me, aside; and, he that setteth, me, aside, doth set aside, him that sent me.
17 அத² தே ஸப்ததிஸி²ஷ்யா ஆநந்தே³ந ப்ரத்யாக³த்ய கத²யாமாஸு: , ஹே ப்ரபோ⁴ ப⁴வதோ நாம்நா பூ⁴தா அப்யஸ்மாகம்’ வஸீ²ப⁴வந்தி|
And the seventy [-two] returned, with joy, saying—Lord! even the demons, submit themselves unto us, in thy name!
18 ததா³நீம்’ ஸ தாந் ஜகா³த³, வித்³யுதமிவ ஸ்வர்கா³த் பதந்தம்’ ஸை²தாநம் அத³ர்ஸ²ம்|
And he said unto them—I was beholding Satan, when, like lightning, out of heaven, he fell!
19 பஸ்²யத ஸர்பாந் வ்ரு’ஸ்²சிகாந் ரிபோ: ஸர்வ்வபராக்ரமாம்’ஸ்²ச பத³தலை ர்த³லயிதும்’ யுஷ்மப்⁴யம்’ ஸ²க்திம்’ த³தா³மி தஸ்மாத்³ யுஷ்மாகம்’ காபி ஹாநி ர்ந ப⁴விஷ்யதி|
Lo! I have given you the authority—to be treading upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and, nothing, unto you, shall in anywise do harm;
20 பூ⁴தா யுஷ்மாகம்’ வஸீ²ப⁴வந்தி, ஏதந்நிமித்தத் மா ஸமுல்லஸத, ஸ்வர்கே³ யுஷ்மாகம்’ நாமாநி லிகி²தாநி ஸந்தீதி நிமித்தம்’ ஸமுல்லஸத|
Notwithstanding, in this, be not rejoicing—that, the spirits, unto you submit themselves; but be rejoicing—that, your names, are inscribed in the heavens!
21 தத்³க⁴டிகாயாம்’ யீஸு² ர்மநஸி ஜாதாஹ்லாத³: கத²யாமாஸ ஹே ஸ்வர்க³ப்ரு’தி²வ்யோரேகாதி⁴பதே பிதஸ்த்வம்’ ஜ்ஞாநவதாம்’ விது³ஷாஞ்ச லோகாநாம்’ புரஸ்தாத் ஸர்வ்வமேதத்³ அப்ரகாஸ்²ய பா³லகாநாம்’ புரஸ்தாத் ப்ராகாஸ²ய ஏதஸ்மாத்³தே⁴தோஸ்த்வாம்’ த⁴ந்யம்’ வதா³மி, ஹே பிதரித்த²ம்’ ப⁴வது யத்³ ஏததே³வ தவ கோ³சர உத்தமம்|
In the self-same hour, exulted he in the Holy Spirit, and said—I openly give praise unto thee, Father! Lord of heaven and earth! in that thou hast hid these things from the wise and discerning, and hast revealed them unto babes, —Yea, O Father! that, so, hath it become, a delight, before thee.
22 பித்ரா ஸர்வ்வாணி மயி ஸமர்பிதாநி பிதரம்’ விநா கோபி புத்ரம்’ ந ஜாநாதி கிஞ்ச புத்ரம்’ விநா யஸ்மை ஜநாய புத்ரஸ்தம்’ ப்ரகாஸி²தவாந் தஞ்ச விநா கோபி பிதரம்’ ந ஜாநாதி|
All things, unto me, have been delivered up by my Father; and, no one, knoweth, who the Son is, save the Father, —and who the Father is, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son may be minded to reveal him.
23 தப: பரம்’ ஸ ஸி²ஷ்யாந் ப்ரதி பராவ்ரு’த்ய கு³ப்தம்’ ஜகா³த³, யூயமேதாநி ஸர்வ்வாணி பஸ்²யத² ததோ யுஷ்மாகம்’ சக்ஷூம்’ஷி த⁴ந்யாநி|
And, turning unto his disciples, privately, he said—Happy, the eyes, that see what ye see!
24 யுஷ்மாநஹம்’ வதா³மி, யூயம்’ யாநி ஸர்வ்வாணி பஸ்²யத² தாநி ப³ஹவோ ப⁴விஷ்யத்³வாதி³நோ பூ⁴பதயஸ்²ச த்³ரஷ்டுமிச்ச²ந்தோபி த்³ரஷ்டும்’ ந ப்ராப்நுவந், யுஷ்மாபி⁴ ர்யா யா: கதா²ஸ்²ச ஸ்²ரூயந்தே தா: ஸ்²ரோதுமிச்ச²ந்தோபி ஸ்²ரோதும்’ நாலப⁴ந்த|
For I tell you, Many prophets and kings, have desired to see what, ye, see, and they saw not, and to hear what ye hear, and they heard not.
25 அநந்தரம் ஏகோ வ்யவஸ்தா²பக உத்தா²ய தம்’ பரீக்ஷிதும்’ பப்ரச்ச², ஹே உபதே³ஸ²க அநந்தாயுஷ: ப்ராப்தயே மயா கிம்’ கரணீயம்’? (aiōnios g166)
And lo! a certain lawyer, arose, putting him to the test, saying—Teacher! by doing what, shall I inherit, life age-abiding? (aiōnios g166)
26 யீஸு²: ப்ரத்யுவாச, அத்ரார்தே² வ்யவஸ்தா²யாம்’ கிம்’ லிகி²தமஸ்தி? த்வம்’ கீத்³ரு’க் பட²ஸி?
And, he, said unto him—In the law, what is written? how dost thou read?
27 தத: ஸோவத³த், த்வம்’ ஸர்வ்வாந்த: கரணை: ஸர்வ்வப்ராணை: ஸர்வ்வஸ²க்திபி⁴: ஸர்வ்வசித்தைஸ்²ச ப்ரபௌ⁴ பரமேஸ்²வரே ப்ரேம குரு, ஸமீபவாஸிநி ஸ்வவத் ப்ரேம குரு ச|
And, he, answering, said—Thou shalt love the Lord thy God, out of all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might, and with all thine intention; and thy neighbour, as thyself?
28 ததா³ ஸ கத²யாமாஸ, த்வம்’ யதா²ர்த²ம்’ ப்ரத்யவோச: , இத்த²ம் ஆசர தேநைவ ஜீவிஷ்யஸி|
And he said unto him—Rightly, hast thou answered: This, do, and thou shalt live.
29 கிந்து ஸ ஜந: ஸ்வம்’ நிர்த்³தோ³ஷம்’ ஜ்ஞாபயிதும்’ யீஸு²ம்’ பப்ரச்ச², மம ஸமீபவாஸீ க: ? ததோ யீஸு²: ப்ரத்யுவாச,
But, he, wishing to justify himself, said unto Jesus—And, who is, my, neighbour?
30 ஏகோ ஜநோ யிரூஸா²லம்புராத்³ யிரீஹோபுரம்’ யாதி, ஏதர்ஹி த³ஸ்யூநாம்’ கரேஷு பதிதே தே தஸ்ய வஸ்த்ராதி³கம்’ ஹ்ரு’தவந்த: தமாஹத்ய ம்ரு’தப்ராயம்’ க்ரு’த்வா த்யக்த்வா யயு: |
And taking up [the question], Jesus said—A certain man, was going down from Jerusalem unto Jericho, and, with robbers, fell in, —who, stripping him, and inflicting, wounds, upon him, departed, leaving him, half dead.
31 அகஸ்மாத்³ ஏகோ யாஜகஸ்தேந மார்கே³ண க³ச்ச²ந் தம்’ த்³ரு’ஷ்ட்வா மார்கா³ந்யபார்ஸ்²வேந ஜகா³ம|
And, by chance, a certain priest, was coming down by that road, and, seeing him, passed by, on the opposite side.
32 இத்த²ம் ஏகோ லேவீயஸ்தத்ஸ்தா²நம்’ ப்ராப்ய தஸ்யாந்திகம்’ க³த்வா தம்’ விலோக்யாந்யேந பார்ஸ்²வேந ஜகா³ம|
And, in like manner, a Levite also, coming down to the place, and seeing him, passed by, on the opposite side.
33 கிந்த்வேக: ஸோ²மிரோணீயோ க³ச்ச²ந் தத்ஸ்தா²நம்’ ப்ராப்ய தம்’ த்³ரு’ஷ்ட்வாத³யத|
But, a certain Samaritan, going on his journey, came down to him, and, seeing him, was moved with compassion;
34 தஸ்யாந்திகம்’ க³த்வா தஸ்ய க்ஷதேஷு தைலம்’ த்³ராக்ஷாரஸஞ்ச ப்ரக்ஷிப்ய க்ஷதாநி ப³த்³த்⁴வா நிஜவாஹநோபரி தமுபவேஸ்²ய ப்ரவாஸீயக்³ரு’ஹம் ஆநீய தம்’ ஸிஷேவே|
and, coming near, bound up his bruises, pouring thereon oil and wine, —and, setting him on his own beast, brought him into an inn, and took care of him.
35 பரஸ்மிந் தி³வஸே நிஜக³மநகாலே த்³வௌ முத்³ராபாதௌ³ தத்³க்³ரு’ஹஸ்வாமிநே த³த்த்வாவத³த் ஜநமேநம்’ ஸேவஸ்வ தத்ர யோ(அ)தி⁴கோ வ்யயோ ப⁴விஷ்யதி தமஹம்’ புநராக³மநகாலே பரிஸோ²த்ஸ்யாமி|
And, on the morrow, throwing out two denaries, he gave them to the inn-keeper, and said—Take care of him, and, whatsoever thou shall further spend, I, when on my way back, will duly pay thee.
36 ஏஷாம்’ த்ரயாணாம்’ மத்⁴யே தஸ்ய த³ஸ்யுஹஸ்தபதிதஸ்ய ஜநஸ்ய ஸமீபவாஸீ க: ? த்வயா கிம்’ பு³த்⁴யதே?
Which of these three, seemeth unto thee to have become, neighbour, unto him who fell among the robbers?
37 தத: ஸ வ்யவஸ்தா²பக: கத²யாமாஸ யஸ்தஸ்மிந் த³யாம்’ சகார| ததா³ யீஸு²: கத²யாமாஸ த்வமபி க³த்வா ததா²சர|
And, he, said—He who dealt mercifully with him. And Jesus said unto him—Be taking thy journey, and, thou, be doing, in like manner.
38 தத: பரம்’ தே க³ச்ச²ந்த ஏகம்’ க்³ராமம்’ ப்ரவிவிஸு²: ; ததா³ மர்தா²நாமா ஸ்த்ரீ ஸ்வக்³ரு’ஹே தஸ்யாதித்²யம்’ சகார|
And, as they were journeying, he, entered into a certain village; and, a certain woman, named Martha, welcomed him into her house.
39 தஸ்மாத் மரியம் நாமதே⁴யா தஸ்யா ப⁴கி³நீ யீஸோ²: பத³ஸமீப உவவிஸ்²ய தஸ்யோபதே³ஸ²கதா²ம்’ ஸ்²ரோதுமாரேபே⁴|
And, she, had a sister, called Mary, who also, seating herself at the feet of the Lord, was hearing his word.
40 கிந்து மர்தா² நாநாபரிசர்ய்யாயாம்’ வ்யக்³ரா ப³பூ⁴வ தஸ்மாத்³தே⁴தோஸ்தஸ்ய ஸமீபமாக³த்ய ப³பா⁴ஷே; ஹே ப்ரபோ⁴ மம ப⁴கி³நீ கேவலம்’ மமோபரி ஸர்வ்வகர்ம்மணாம்’ பா⁴ரம் அர்பிதவதீ தத்ர ப⁴வதா கிஞ்சித³பி ந மநோ நிதீ⁴யதே கிம்? மம ஸாஹாய்யம்’ கர்த்தும்’ ப⁴வாந் தாமாதி³ஸ²து|
But, Martha, was distracted about much ministering, and, coming near, said—Lord! carest thou not that, my sister, hath left me to be ministering, alone? Speak to her, then, that she help me.
41 ததோ யீஸு²: ப்ரத்யுவாச ஹே மர்தே² ஹே மர்தே², த்வம்’ நாநாகார்ய்யேஷு சிந்திதவதீ வ்யக்³ரா சாஸி,
But the Lord, answering, said to her—Martha! Martha! thou art anxious and troubled about many things:
42 கிந்து ப்ரயோஜநீயம் ஏகமாத்ரம் ஆஸ்தே| அபரஞ்ச யமுத்தமம்’ பா⁴க³ம்’ கோபி ஹர்த்தும்’ ந ஸ²க்நோதி ஸஏவ மரியமா வ்ரு’த: |
Of few things, is there need, or, of one; Mary, in fact, hath chosen, the good part, —one which shall not be taken away from her.
