யாகூப³: 1
1 ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய ப்ரபோ⁴ ர்யீஸு²க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய ச தா³ஸோ யாகூப்³ விகீர்ணீபூ⁴தாந் த்³வாத³ஸ²ம்’ வம்’ஸா²ந் ப்ரதி நமஸ்க்ரு’த்ய பத்ரம்’ லிக²தி|
James, a servant, of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, —unto the twelve tribes that are in the dispersion, Wishes joy.
2 ஹே மம ப்⁴ராதர: , யூயம்’ யதா³ ப³ஹுவித⁴பரீக்ஷாஷு நிபதத ததா³ தத் பூர்ணாநந்த³ஸ்ய காரணம்’ மந்யத்⁴வம்’|
All Joy, account it, my brethren, whensoever ye fall in with, manifold, temptations, —
3 யதோ யுஷ்மாகம்’ விஸ்²வாஸஸ்ய பரீக்ஷிதத்வேந தை⁴ர்ய்யம்’ ஸம்பாத்³யத இதி ஜாநீத²|
Taking note, that, the proving of your faith, worketh out endurance;
4 தச்ச தை⁴ர்ய்யம்’ ஸித்³த⁴ப²லம்’ ப⁴வது தேந யூயம்’ ஸித்³தா⁴: ஸம்பூர்ணாஸ்²ச ப⁴விஷ்யத² கஸ்யாபி கு³ணஸ்யாபா⁴வஸ்²ச யுஷ்மாகம்’ ந ப⁴விஷ்யதி|
But let, your endurance, have, mature work, that ye may be mature and complete, in nothing, coming short.
5 யுஷ்மாகம்’ கஸ்யாபி ஜ்ஞாநாபா⁴வோ யதி³ ப⁴வேத் தர்ஹி ய ஈஸ்²வர: ஸரலபா⁴வேந திரஸ்காரஞ்ச விநா ஸர்வ்வேப்⁴யோ த³தா³தி தத: ஸ யாசதாம்’ ததஸ்தஸ்மை தா³யிஷ்யதே|
But, if any of you is sinning short of wisdom, let him be asking of God, Who giveth unto all freely and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him;
6 கிந்து ஸ நி: ஸந்தே³ஹ: ஸந் விஸ்²வாஸேந யாசதாம்’ யத: ஸந்தி³க்³தோ⁴ மாநவோ வாயுநா சாலிதஸ்யோத்ப்லவமாநஸ்ய ச ஸமுத்³ரதரங்க³ஸ்ய ஸத்³ரு’ஸோ² ப⁴வதி|
But let him be asking in faith, nothing, doubting, for, he that doubteth, is like a wave of the sea, wind-driven and storm-tossed, —
7 தாத்³ரு’ஸோ² மாநவ: ப்ரபோ⁴: கிஞ்சித் ப்ராப்ஸ்யதீதி ந மந்யதாம்’|
For let not that man think that he shall receive anything from the Lord—
8 த்³விமநா லோக: ஸர்வ்வக³திஷு சஞ்சலோ ப⁴வதி|
A two-souled man, unstable in all his ways.
9 யோ ப்⁴ராதா நம்ர: ஸ நிஜோந்நத்யா ஸ்²லாக⁴தாம்’|
But boasting be the lowly brother in his uplifting;
10 யஸ்²ச த⁴நவாந் ஸ நிஜநம்ரதயா ஸ்²லாக⁴தாம்’யத: ஸ த்ரு’ணபுஷ்பவத் க்ஷயம்’ க³மிஷ்யதி|
Whereas the rich, in his being brought low, —because, as a flower of grass, he will pass away;
11 யத: ஸதாபேந ஸூர்ய்யேணோதி³த்ய த்ரு’ணம்’ ஸோ²ஷ்யதே தத்புஷ்பஞ்ச ப்⁴ரஸ்²யதி தேந தஸ்ய ரூபஸ்ய ஸௌந்த³ர்ய்யம்’ நஸ்²யதி தத்³வத்³ த⁴நிலோகோ(அ)பி ஸ்வீயமூட⁴தயா ம்லாஸ்யதி|
For the sun hath sprung up, with it scorching heat, and hath withered the grass, and, the flower thereof, hath fallen out, and, the beauty of the face thereof, hath perished, —so, also the rich, in his goings, shall languish.
12 யோ ஜந: பரீக்ஷாம்’ ஸஹதே ஸ ஏவ த⁴ந்ய: , யத: பரீக்ஷிதத்வம்’ ப்ராப்ய ஸ ப்ரபு⁴நா ஸ்வப்ரேமகாரிப்⁴ய: ப்ரதிஜ்ஞாதம்’ ஜீவநமுகுடம்’ லப்ஸ்யதே|
Happy the man who endureth temptation! Because, becoming approved, he shall receive the crown of life—which he hath promised unto them that love him.
13 ஈஸ்²வரோ மாம்’ பரீக்ஷத இதி பரீக்ஷாஸமயே கோ(அ)பி ந வத³து யத: பாபாயேஸ்²வரஸ்ய பரீக்ஷா ந ப⁴வதி ஸ ச கமபி ந பரீக்ஷதே|
Let, no one, while tempted, be saying—From God, am I tempted, —for, God, cannot be tempted by things evil, and, himself, tempteth no one;
14 கிந்து ய: கஸ்²சித் ஸ்வீயமநோவாஞ்ச²யாக்ரு’ஷ்யதே லோப்⁴யதே ச தஸ்யைவ பரீக்ஷா ப⁴வதி|
But, each one, is tempted, when, by his own coveting, he is drawn out and enticed,
15 தஸ்மாத் ஸா மநோவாஞ்சா² ஸக³ர்பா⁴ பூ⁴த்வா து³ஷ்க்ரு’திம்’ ப்ரஸூதே து³ஷ்க்ரு’திஸ்²ச பரிணாமம்’ க³த்வா ம்ரு’த்யும்’ ஜநயதி|
Then, the coveting, having conceived, giveth birth to sin, and, the sin, when full-grown, bringeth forth death.
16 ஹே மம ப்ரியப்⁴ராதர: , யூயம்’ ந ப்⁴ராம்யத|
Be not deceived, my brethren beloved: —
17 யத் கிஞ்சித்³ உத்தமம்’ தா³நம்’ பூர்ணோ வரஸ்²ச தத் ஸர்வ்வம் ஊர்த்³த்⁴வாத்³ அர்த²தோ யஸ்மிந் த³ஸா²ந்தரம்’ பரிவர்த்தநஜாதச்சா²யா வா நாஸ்தி தஸ்மாத்³ தீ³ப்த்யாகராத் பிதுரவரோஹதி|
Every good giving, and every perfect gift, is, from above, coming down from the Father of lights—with whom is no alternation, nor shadow cast, by turning:
18 தஸ்ய ஸ்ரு’ஷ்டவஸ்தூநாம்’ மத்⁴யே வயம்’ யத் ப்ரத²மப²லஸ்வரூபா ப⁴வாமஸ்தத³ர்த²ம்’ ஸ ஸ்வேச்சா²த: ஸத்யமதஸ்ய வாக்யேநாஸ்மாந் ஜநயாமாஸ|
Because he was so minded, he hath brought us forth with a word of truth, to the end we should be a sort of firstfruit of his creatures
19 அதஏவ ஹே மம ப்ரியப்⁴ராதர: , யுஷ்மாகம் ஏகைகோ ஜந: ஸ்²ரவணே த்வரித: கத²நே தீ⁴ர: க்ரோதே⁴(அ)பி தீ⁴ரோ ப⁴வது|
Ye know, my brethren beloved, —but let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger,
20 யதோ மாநவஸ்ய க்ரோத⁴ ஈஸ்²வரீயத⁴ர்ம்மம்’ ந ஸாத⁴யதி|
For, man’s anger, worketh not, God’s righteousness.
21 அதோ ஹேதோ ர்யூயம்’ ஸர்வ்வாம் அஸு²சிக்ரியாம்’ து³ஷ்டதாபா³ஹுல்யஞ்ச நிக்ஷிப்ய யுஷ்மந்மநஸாம்’ பரித்ராணே ஸமர்த²ம்’ ரோபிதம்’ வாக்யம்’ நம்ரபா⁴வேந க்³ரு’ஹ்லீத|
Wherefore, putting away all filthiness and overflow of baseness, in meekness, welcome ye the word fitted for inward growth, which is able to save your souls:
22 அபரஞ்ச யூயம்’ கேவலம் ஆத்மவஞ்சயிதாரோ வாக்யஸ்ய ஸ்²ரோதாரோ ந ப⁴வத கிந்து வாக்யஸ்ய கர்ம்மகாரிணோ ப⁴வத|
Become ye doers of the word, and not hearers only—reasoning yourselves astray;
23 யதோ ய: கஸ்²சித்³ வாக்யஸ்ய கர்ம்மகாரீ ந பூ⁴த்வா கேவலம்’ தஸ்ய ஸ்²ரோதா ப⁴வதி ஸ த³ர்பணே ஸ்வீயஸா²ரீரிகவத³நம்’ நிரீக்ஷமாணஸ்ய மநுஜஸ்ய ஸத்³ரு’ஸ²: |
Because, if any is, a word-hearer, and not a doer, the same, is like unto a man observing his natural face in a mirror, —
24 ஆத்மாகாரே த்³ரு’ஷ்டே ஸ ப்ரஸ்தா²ய கீத்³ரு’ஸ² ஆஸீத் தத் தத்க்ஷணாத்³ விஸ்மரதி|
For he observed himself, and is gone away, and, straightway, it hath escaped him, —what manner of man, he was!
25 கிந்து ய: கஸ்²சித் நத்வா முக்தே: ஸித்³தா⁴ம்’ வ்யவஸ்தா²ம் ஆலோக்ய திஷ்ட²தி ஸ விஸ்ம்ரு’தியுக்த: ஸ்²ரோதா ந பூ⁴த்வா கர்ம்மகர்த்தைவ ஸந் ஸ்வகார்ய்யே த⁴ந்யோ ப⁴விஷ்யதி|
But, he that hath obtained a nearer view into the perfect law of liberty, and hath taken up his abode by it, becoming—not a forgetful hearer, but a work doer, the same, happy in his doing, shall be.
26 அநாயத்தரஸந: ஸந் ய: கஸ்²சித் ஸ்வமநோ வஞ்சயித்வா ஸ்வம்’ ப⁴க்தம்’ மந்யதே தஸ்ய ப⁴க்தி ர்முதா⁴ ப⁴வதி|
If any thinketh he is observant of religion, not curbing his own tongue, but deceiving his own heart, this one’s, religious observance is, vain:
27 க்லேஸ²காலே பித்ரு’ஹீநாநாம்’ வித⁴வாநாஞ்ச யத்³ அவேக்ஷணம்’ ஸம்’ஸாராச்ச நிஷ்கலங்கேந யத்³ ஆத்மரக்ஷணம்’ ததே³வ பிதுரீஸ்²வரஸ்ய ஸாக்ஷாத் ஸு²சி ர்நிர்ம்மலா ச ப⁴க்தி: |
Religious observance, pure and undefiled with our God and Father, is, this—to be visiting orphans and widows in their affliction, unspotted, to keep, himself, from the world.
