இபி²ஷிண​: 4

1 அதோ ப³ந்தி³ரஹம்’ ப்ரபோ⁴ ர்நாம்நா யுஷ்மாந் விநயே யூயம்’ யேநாஹ்வாநேநாஹூதாஸ்தது³பயுக்தரூபேண

I exhort you, therefore, I, the prisoner in the Lord, to walk in a manner worthy of the calling wherewith ye were called: —

2 ஸர்வ்வதா² நம்ரதாம்’ ம்ரு’து³தாம்’ திதிக்ஷாம்’ பரஸ்பரம்’ ப்ரம்நா ஸஹிஷ்ணுதாஞ்சாசரத|

With all lowliness and meekness, with long suffering, bearing one with another in love,

3 ப்ரணயப³ந்த⁴நேந சாத்மந ஏக்யம்’ ரக்ஷிதும்’ யதத்⁴வம்’|

Giving diligence to keep—the oneness of the Spirit in the uniting-bond of peace, —

4 யூயம் ஏகஸ²ரீரா ஏகாத்மாநஸ்²ச தத்³வத்³ ஆஹ்வாநேந யூயம் ஏகப்ரத்யாஸா²ப்ராப்தயே ஸமாஹூதா​: |

One body, and one spirit, even as ye were also called in one hope of your calling,

5 யுஷ்மாகம் ஏக​: ப்ரபு⁴ரேகோ விஸ்²வாஸ ஏகம்’ மஜ்ஜநம்’, ஸர்வ்வேஷாம்’ தாத​:

One Lord, one faith, one immersion,

6 ஸர்வ்வோபரிஸ்த²​: ஸர்வ்வவ்யாபீ ஸர்வ்வேஷாம்’ யுஷ்மாகம்’ மத்⁴யவர்த்தீ சைக ஈஸ்²வர ஆஸ்தே|

One God and Father of all—who is over all, and through all, and in all.

7 கிந்து க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய தா³நபரிமாணாநுஸாராத்³ அஸ்மாகம் ஏகைகஸ்மை விஸே²ஷோ வரோ(அ)தா³யி|

To each one of you, however, hath favour been given, according to the measure of the free-gift of the Christ;

8 யதா² லிகி²தம் ஆஸ்தே, "ஊர்த்³த்⁴வம் ஆருஹ்ய ஜேத்ரு’ந் ஸ விஜித்ய ப³ந்தி³நோ(அ)கரோத்| தத​: ஸ மநுஜேப்⁴யோ(அ)பி ஸ்வீயாந் வ்யஸ்²ராணயத்³ வராந்|| "

Wherefore he saith—Ascending on high, he took captivity captive, [and] gave gifts unto men.

9 ஊர்த்³த்⁴வம் ஆருஹ்யேதிவாக்யஸ்யாயமர்த²​: ஸ பூர்வ்வம்’ ப்ரு’தி²வீரூபம்’ ஸர்வ்வாத⁴​: ஸ்தி²தம்’ ஸ்தா²நம் அவதீர்ணவாந்;

Now this, He ascended; what is it, —save—that he also descended into the under parts of the earth?

10 யஸ்²சாவதீர்ணவாந் ஸ ஏவ ஸ்வர்கா³ணாம் உபர்ய்யுபர்ய்யாரூட⁴வாந் யத​: ஸர்வ்வாணி தேந பூரயிதவ்யாநி|

He that descended, he, it is who also ascended over-above all the heavens, that he might fill all things;

11 ஸ ஏவ ச காம்’ஸ்²சந ப்ரேரிதாந் அபராந் ப⁴விஷ்யத்³வாதி³நோ(அ)பராந் ஸுஸம்’வாத³ப்ரசாரகாந் அபராந் பாலகாந் உபதே³ஸ²காம்’ஸ்²ச நியுக்தவாந்|

And, he, gave—some, indeed, to be apostles, and some, prophets, and some, evangelists, and some, shepherds and teachers, —

12 யாவத்³ வயம்’ ஸர்வ்வே விஸ்²வாஸஸ்யேஸ்²வரபுத்ரவிஷயகஸ்ய தத்த்வஜ்ஞாநஸ்ய சைக்யம்’ ஸம்பூர்ணம்’ புருஷர்த²ஞ்சார்த²த​: க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய ஸம்பூர்ணபரிமாணஸ்ய ஸமம்’ பரிமாணம்’ ந ப்ராப்நுமஸ்தாவத்

With a view to the fitting of the saints for the work of ministering, for an upbuilding of the body of the Christ;

13 ஸ பரிசர்ய்யாகர்ம்மஸாத⁴நாய க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய ஸ²ரீரஸ்ய நிஷ்டா²யை ச பவித்ரலோகாநாம்’ ஸித்³த⁴தாயாஸ்தாத்³ரு’ஸ²ம் உபாயம்’ நிஸ்²சிதவாந்|

Until we all advance—into the oneness of the faith, and the personal knowledge of the Son of God, into a man of full-growth, into the measure of the stature of the fulness of the Christ;

14 அதஏவ மாநுஷாணாம்’ சாதுரீதோ ப்⁴ரமகதூ⁴ர்த்ததாயாஸ்²ச²லாச்ச ஜாதேந ஸர்வ்வேண ஸி²க்ஷாவாயுநா வயம்’ யத்³ பா³லகா இவ தோ³லாயமாநா ந ப்⁴ராம்யாம இத்யஸ்மாபி⁴ ர்யதிதவ்யம்’,

That we may, no longer, be infants—billow-tossed and shifted round with every wind of teaching, —in the craft of men, in knavery suited to the artifice of error;

15 ப்ரேம்நா ஸத்யதாம் ஆசரத்³பி⁴​: ஸர்வ்வவிஷயே க்²ரீஷ்டம் உத்³தி³ஸ்²ய வர்த்³தி⁴தவ்யஞ்ச, யத​: ஸ மூர்த்³தா⁴,

But, pursuing truth—may, in love, grow into him in all things, —who is the head, Christ, —

16 தஸ்மாச்சைகைகஸ்யாங்க³ஸ்ய ஸ்வஸ்வபரிமாணாநுஸாரேண ஸாஹாய்யகரணாத்³ உபகாரகை​: ஸர்வ்வை​: ஸந்தி⁴பி⁴​: க்ரு’த்ஸ்நஸ்ய ஸ²ரீரஸ்ய ஸம்’யோகே³ ஸம்மிலநே ச ஜாதே ப்ரேம்நா நிஷ்டா²ம்’ லப⁴மாநம்’ க்ரு’த்ஸ்நம்’ ஸ²ரீரம்’ வ்ரு’த்³தி⁴ம்’ ப்ராப்நோதி|

Out of whom all the body—fitly framing itself together, and connecting itself, through means of every joint of supply, by way of energising in the measure of each single part—secureth the growing of the body, unto an upbuilding of itself in love.

17 யுஷ்மாந் அஹம்’ ப்ரபு⁴நேத³ம்’ ப்³ரவீம்யாதி³ஸா²மி ச, அந்யே பி⁴ந்நஜாதீயா இவ யூயம்’ பூந ர்மாசரத|

This, therefore, am I saying and protesting in the Lord: —that, no longer, ye walk even as, the nations, walk—in the vanity of their minds,

18 யதஸ்தே ஸ்வமநோமாயாம் ஆசரந்த்யாந்தரிகாஜ்ஞாநாத் மாநஸிககாடி²ந்யாச்ச திமிராவ்ரு’தபு³த்³த⁴ய ஈஸ்²வரீயஜீவநஸ்ய ப³கீ³ர்பூ⁴தாஸ்²ச ப⁴வந்தி,

Being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God—by reason of the ignorance that existeth within them, by reason of their hearts being turned into stone,

19 ஸ்வாந் சைதந்யஸூ²ந்யாந் க்ரு’த்வா ச லோபே⁴ந ஸர்வ்வவிதா⁴ஸௌ²சாசரணாய லம்படதாயாம்’ ஸ்வாந் ஸமர்பிதவந்த​: |

Who, indeed, having become past feeling, have delivered, themselves, up, with wantonness, unto making a trade of all impurity with greed.

20 கிந்து யூயம்’ க்²ரீஷ்டம்’ ந தாத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ பரிசிதவந்த​: ,

Ye, however, have, not thus, learned the Christ: —

21 யதோ யூயம்’ தம்’ ஸ்²ருதவந்தோ யா ஸத்யா ஸி²க்ஷா யீஸு²தோ லப்⁴யா தத³நுஸாராத் ததீ³யோபதே³ஸ²ம்’ ப்ராப்தவந்தஸ்²சேதி மந்யே|

If, at least, it is, him, ye have heard, and, in him, ye have been taught—even as truth is in Jesus, —

22 தஸ்மாத் பூர்வ்வகாலிகாசாரகாரீ ய​: புராதநபுருஷோ மாயாபி⁴லாஷை ர்நஸ்²யதி தம்’ த்யக்த்வா யுஷ்மாபி⁴ ர்மாநஸிகபா⁴வோ நூதநீகர்த்தவ்ய​: ,

That ye were to strip off—as regardeth the former behaviour—the old man, who corrupteth himself according to his deceitful covetings,

23 யோ நவபுருஷ ஈஸ்²வராநுரூபேண புண்யேந ஸத்யதாஸஹிதேந

And were to be getting young again in the spirit of your mind,

24 தா⁴ர்ம்மிகத்வேந ச ஸ்ரு’ஷ்ட​: ஸ ஏவ பரிதா⁴தவ்யஸ்²ச|

And were to put on the man of new mould, who, after God, hath been created in his truthful righteousness and loving kindness.

25 அதோ யூயம்’ ஸர்வ்வே மித்²யாகத²நம்’ பரித்யஜ்ய ஸமீபவாஸிபி⁴​: ஸஹ ஸத்யாலாபம்’ குருத யதோ வயம்’ பரஸ்பரம் அங்க³ப்ரத்யங்கா³ ப⁴வாம​: |

Wherefore, stripping off what is false, be speaking truth each one with his neighbour, because we are members one of another;

26 அபரம்’ க்ரோதே⁴ ஜாதே பாபம்’ மா குருத்⁴வம், அஸா²ந்தே யுஷ்மாகம்’ ரோஷேஸூர்ய்யோ(அ)ஸ்தம்’ ந க³ச்ச²து|

Be ye angry, and not committing sin, let not the sun be going down upon your angry mood,

27 அபரம்’ ஸ²யதாநே ஸ்தா²நம்’ மா த³த்த|

Neither be giving place unto the adversary;

28 சோர​: புநஸ்²சைர்ய்யம்’ ந கரோது கிந்து தீ³நாய தா³நே ஸாமர்த்²யம்’ யஜ்ஜாயதே தத³ர்த²ம்’ ஸ்வகராப்⁴யாம்’ ஸத்³வ்ரு’த்த்யா பரிஸ்²ரமம்’ கரோது|

Let, the stealer, no more, steal, but rather let him be toiling, —working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have [wherewith] to be giving away to him that hath need;

29 அபரம்’ யுஷ்மாகம்’ வத³நேப்⁴ய​: கோ(அ)பி கதா³லாபோ ந நிர்க³ச்ச²து, கிந்து யேந ஸ்²ரோதுருபகாரோ ஜாயதே தாத்³ரு’ஸ²​: ப்ரயோஜநீயநிஷ்டா²யை ப²லதா³யக ஆலாபோ யுஷ்மாகம்’ ப⁴வது|

Let, no putrid discourse, out of your mouth, be going forth, but if anything is good—suited to the needful upbuilding, —that it may give benefit unto them that hear;

30 அபரஞ்ச யூயம்’ முக்திதி³நபர்ய்யந்தம் ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய யேந பவித்ரேணாத்மநா முத்³ரயாங்கிதா அப⁴வத தம்’ ஸோ²காந்விதம்’ மா குருத|

And be not grieving the Holy Spirit of God, wherewith ye have been sealed unto a day of redemption;

31 அபரம்’ கடுவாக்யம்’ ரோஷ​: கோஷ​: கலஹோ நிந்தா³ ஸர்வ்வவித⁴த்³வேஷஸ்²சைதாநி யுஷ்மாகம்’ மத்⁴யாத்³ தூ³ரீப⁴வந்து|

All bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and outcry, and profane speaking, let it be taken away from you, with all baseness;

32 யூயம்’ பரஸ்பரம்’ ஹிதைஷிண​: கோமலாந்த​: கரணாஸ்²ச ப⁴வத| அபரம் ஈஸ்²வர​: க்²ரீஷ்டேந யத்³வத்³ யுஷ்மாகம்’ தோ³ஷாந் க்ஷமிதவாந் தத்³வத்³ யூயமபி பரஸ்பரம்’ க்ஷமத்⁴வம்’|

And be ye gracious one to another, tenderly affectionate, in favour forgiving one another—even as, God also, in Christ, hath in favour forgiven you;
