ඵිලෝමෝනඃ 1

1 ඛ්‍රීෂ්ටස්‍ය යීශෝ ර්බන්දිදාසඃ පෞලස්තීථියනාමා භ්‍රාතා ච ප්‍රියං සහකාරිණං ඵිලීමෝනං

To my beloved friend and coworker Philemon,

2 ප්‍රියාම් ආප්පියාං සහසේනාම් ආර්ඛිප්පං ඵිලීමෝනස්‍ය ගෘහේ ස්ථිතාං සමිතිඤ්ච ප්‍රති පත්‍රං ලිඛතඃ|

to my sister Apphia, to my fellow soldier Archippus, and to the church which meets at Philemon’s house. From Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and brother Timothy.

3 අස්මාකං තාත ඊශ්වරඃ ප්‍රභු ර‍්‍යීශුඛ්‍රීෂ්ටශ්ච යුෂ්මාන් ප්‍රති ශාන්තිම් අනුග්‍රහඤ්ච ක්‍රියාස්තාං|

Grace and peace be to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

4 ප්‍රභුං යීශුං ප්‍රති සර්ව්වාන් පවිත්‍රලෝකාන් ප්‍රති ච තව ප්‍රේමවිශ්වාසයෝ ර්වෘත්තාන්තං නිශම්‍යාහං

I am ever mentioning you in my prayers, and giving thanks to God,

5 ප්‍රාර්ථනාසමයේ තව නාමෝච්චාරයන් නිරන්තරං මමේශ්වරං ධන්‍යං වදාමි|

because I am hearing of your love and of the faith which you hold, not only toward the Lord Jesus Christ, but toward all the saints.

6 අස්මාසු යද්‍යත් සෞජන්‍යං විද්‍යතේ තත් සර්ව්වං ඛ්‍රීෂ්ටං යීශුං යත් ප්‍රති භවතීති ඥානාය තව විශ්වාසමූලිකා දානශීලතා යත් සඵලා භවේත් තදහම් ඉච්ඡාමි|

And I pray that your participation may become effectual, as you come to acknowledge every good thing which is in you to Christ.

7 හේ භ්‍රාතඃ, ත්වයා පවිත්‍රලෝකානාං ප්‍රාණ ආප්‍යායිතා අභවන් ඒතස්මාත් තව ප්‍රේම්නාස්මාකං මහාන් ආනන්දඃ සාන්ත්වනා ච ජාතඃ|

For I have great joy and comfort in your love, my brother, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed.

8 ත්වයා යත් කර්ත්තව්‍යං තත් ත්වාම් ආඥාපයිතුං යද්‍යප්‍යහං ඛ්‍රීෂ්ටේනාතීවෝත්සුකෝ භවේයං තථාපි වෘද්ධ

And so, although I might be bold in Christ to dictate to you what is fitting,

9 ඉදානීං යීශුඛ්‍රීෂ්ටස්‍ය බන්දිදාසශ්චෛවම්භූතෝ යඃ පෞලඃ සෝ(අ)හං ත්වාං විනේතුං වරං මන්‍යේ|

yet for love’s sake, I rather beseech you, I, Paul, an old man, and now a prisoner for Christ Jesus!

10 අතඃ ශෘඞ්ඛලබද්ධෝ(අ)හං යමජනයං තං මදීයතනයම් ඕනීෂිමම් අධි ත්වාං විනයේ|

I beseech you for my son, Onesimus, whom I have begotten in these chains.

11 ස පූර්ව්වං තවානුපකාරක ආසීත් කින්ත්විදානීං තව මම චෝපකාරී භවති|

Once you found him "unprofitable," but now he is "profitable" to you and to me.

12 තමේවාහං තව සමීපං ප්‍රේෂයාමි, අතෝ මදීයප්‍රාණස්වරූපඃ ස ත්වයානුගෘහ්‍යතාං|

I am sending him back to you, he himself, that is, my very heart!

13 සුසංවාදස්‍ය කෘතේ ශෘඞ්ඛලබද්ධෝ(අ)හං පරිචාරකමිව තං ස්වසන්නිධෞ වර්ත්තයිතුම් ඓච්ඡං|

I could wish to retain him at my side, so that he might minister to me in your stead, in my bonds for the gospel.

14 කින්තු තව සෞජන්‍යං යද් බලේන න භූත්වා ස්වේච්ඡායාඃ ඵලං භවේත් තදර්ථං තව සම්මතිං විනා කිමපි කර්ත්තව්‍යං නාමන්‍යේ|

But without your consent I was unwilling to do anything, so that your kindness to me might be of your own free will, and not of compulsion.

15 කෝ ජානාති ක්‍ෂණකාලාර්ථං ත්වත්තස්තස්‍ය විච්ඡේදෝ(අ)භවද් ඒතස්‍යායම් අභිප්‍රායෝ යත් ත්වම් අනන්තකාලාර්ථං තං ලප්ස්‍යසේ (aiōnios g166)

Perhaps for this reason you were separated from him for an hour, in order that you might have him back forever, (aiōnios g166)

16 පුන ර්දාසමිව ලප්ස්‍යසේ තන්නහි කින්තු දාසාත් ශ්‍රේෂ්ඨං මම ප්‍රියං තව ච ශාරීරිකසම්බන්ධාත් ප්‍රභුසම්බන්ධාච්ච තතෝ(අ)ධිකං ප්‍රියං භ්‍රාතරමිව|

no longer as a slave, but more than a slave, as a brother beloved; especially dear to me, but how much more to you, both as a man and a fellow Christian.

17 අතෝ හේතෝ ර‍්‍යදි මාං සහභාගිනං ජානාසි තර්හි මාමිව තමනුගෘහාණ|

If then you count me as a partner, receive him as you would me.

18 තේන යදි තව කිමප්‍යපරාද්ධං තුභ්‍යං කිමපි ධාර‍්‍ය්‍යතේ වා තර්හි තත් මමේති විදිත්වා ගණය|

And if he has wronged you at all, or is owing you anything, charge that to me.

19 අහං තත් පරිශෝත්ස්‍යාමි, ඒතත් පෞලෝ(අ)හං ස්වහස්තේන ලිඛාමි, යතස්ත්වං ස්වප්‍රාණාන් අපි මහ්‍යං ධාරයසි තද් වක්තුං නේච්ඡාමි|

I Paul am writing this in my own handwriting, "I will repay you." But I will not mention that you owe me, over and over, your very soul.

20 භෝ භ්‍රාතඃ, ප්‍රභෝඃ කෘතේ මම වාඤ්ඡාං පූරය ඛ්‍රීෂ්ටස්‍ය කෘතේ මම ප්‍රාණාන් ආප්‍යායය|

Come my brother, let me have joy in the Lord because of you! Refresh my heart in Christ!

21 තවාඥාග්‍රාහිත්වේ විශ්වස්‍ය මයා ඒතත් ලිඛ්‍යතේ මයා යදුච්‍යතේ තතෝ(අ)ධිකං ත්වයා කාරිෂ්‍යත ඉති ජානාමි|

Because I am thoroughly persuaded of your obedience, I have written you, knowing full well that you will do by me what I am asking.

22 තත්කරණසමයේ මදර්ථමපි වාසගෘහං ත්වයා සජ්ජීක්‍රියතාං යතෝ යුෂ්මාකං ප්‍රාර්ථනානාං ඵලරූපෝ වර ඉවාහං යුෂ්මභ්‍යං දායිෂ්‍යේ මමේති ප්‍රත්‍යාශා ජායතේ|

Please also prepare for me a lodging, for I am hoping by your prayers to be restored to you again.

23 ඛ්‍රීෂ්ටස්‍ය යීශාඃ කෘතේ මයා සහ බන්දිරිපාඵ්‍රා

Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, sends you greeting;

24 මම සහකාරිණෝ මාර්ක ආරිෂ්ටාර්ඛෝ දීමා ලූකශ්ච ත්වාං නමස්කාරං වේදයන්ති|

so do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my fellow workers.

25 අස්මාකං ප්‍රභෝ ර‍්‍යීශුඛ්‍රීෂ්ටස්‍යානුග්‍රහෝ යුෂ්මාකම් ආත්මනා සහ භූයාත්| ආමේන්|

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
