< lūkaḥ 4 >

1 tataḥ paraṁ yīśuḥ pavitrēṇātmanā pūrṇaḥ san yarddananadyāḥ parāvr̥tyātmanā prāntaraṁ nītaḥ san catvāriṁśaddināni yāvat śaitānā parīkṣitō'bhūt,
Iesus then full of the holy goost returnyd fro Iordan and was caryed of ye sprete into wildernes
2 kiñca tāni sarvvadināni bhōjanaṁ vinā sthitatvāt kālē pūrṇē sa kṣudhitavān|
and was. xl. dayes tempted of the devyll. And in thoose dayes ate he no thinge. And when they were ended he afterward hongred.
3 tataḥ śaitānāgatya tamavadat tvaṁ cēdīśvarasya putrastarhi prastarānētān ājñayā pūpān kuru|
And the devyll sayde vnto him: yf thou be the sonne of God comaunde this stone yt it be breed.
4 tadā yīśuruvāca, lipirīdr̥śī vidyatē manujaḥ kēvalēna pūpēna na jīvati kintvīśvarasya sarvvābhirājñābhi rjīvati|
And Iesus answered hym sayinge: It is writte: man shall not live by breed only but by every worde of God.
5 tadā śaitān tamuccaṁ parvvataṁ nītvā nimiṣaikamadhyē jagataḥ sarvvarājyāni darśitavān|
And ye devyll toke him vp into an hye moutayne and shewed him all the kyngdoms of the worlde eve in ye twincklinge of an eye.
6 paścāt tamavādīt sarvvam ētad vibhavaṁ pratāpañca tubhyaṁ dāsyāmi tan mayi samarpitamāstē yaṁ prati mamēcchā jāyatē tasmai dātuṁ śaknōmi,
And ye devyll sayde vnto him: all this power will I geve ye every whit and the glory of the: for yt is delyvered to me and to whosoever I will I geve it.
7 tvaṁ cēnmāṁ bhajasē tarhi sarvvamētat tavaiva bhaviṣyati|
Yf thou therfore wilt worshippe me they shalbe all thyne.
8 tadā yīśustaṁ pratyuktavān dūrī bhava śaitān lipirāstē, nijaṁ prabhuṁ paramēśvaraṁ bhajasva kēvalaṁ tamēva sēvasva ca|
Iesus answered him and sayde: hence from me Sathan. For it is written: Thou shalt honour the Lorde thy God and him only serve.
9 atha śaitān taṁ yirūśālamaṁ nītvā mandirasya cūḍāyā upari samupavēśya jagāda tvaṁ cēdīśvarasya putrastarhi sthānāditō lamphitvādhaḥ
And he caryed him to Ierusalem and set him on a pynacle of the temple and sayd vnto him: Yf thou be the sonne of God cast thy silfe doune from hens.
10 pata yatō lipirāstē, ājñāpayiṣyati svīyān dūtān sa paramēśvaraḥ|
For it is written he shall geve his angels charge over the to kepe the
11 rakṣituṁ sarvvamārgē tvāṁ tēna tvaccaraṇē yathā| na lagēt prastarāghātastvāṁ dhariṣyanti tē tathā|
and with there hondis they shall stey the vp that thou dasshe not thy fote agaynst a stone.
12 tadā yīśunā pratyuktam idamapyuktamasti tvaṁ svaprabhuṁ parēśaṁ mā parīkṣasva|
Iesus answered and sayde to him it is sayd: thou shalt not tempte the Lorde thy God.
13 paścāt śaitān sarvvaparīkṣāṁ samāpya kṣaṇāttaṁ tyaktvā yayau|
Assone as the devyll had ended all his temptacions he departed from him for a season.
14 tadā yīśurātmaprabhāvāt punargālīlpradēśaṁ gatastadā tatsukhyātiścaturdiśaṁ vyānaśē|
And Iesus retourned by the power of ye sprete in to Galile and there went a fame of him thorowe oute all the regio roude aboute.
15 sa tēṣāṁ bhajanagr̥hēṣu upadiśya sarvvaiḥ praśaṁsitō babhūva|
And he taught in their synagoges and was commended of all men.
16 atha sa svapālanasthānaṁ nāsaratpuramētya viśrāmavārē svācārād bhajanagēhaṁ praviśya paṭhitumuttasthau|
And he came to Nazareth where he was noursed and as hys custome was went in to the synagoge on the Saboth dayes and stode vp for to rede.
17 tatō yiśayiyabhaviṣyadvādinaḥ pustakē tasya karadattē sati sa tat pustakaṁ vistāryya yatra vakṣyamāṇāni vacanāni santi tat sthānaṁ prāpya papāṭha|
And ther was delyvered vnto him ye boke of ye Prophete Esaias. And when he had opened the boke he founde the place where it was written.
18 ātmā tu paramēśasya madīyōpari vidyatē| daridrēṣu susaṁvādaṁ vaktuṁ māṁ sōbhiṣiktavān| bhagnāntaḥ karaṇāllōkān susvasthān karttumēva ca| bandīkr̥tēṣu lōkēṣu muktē rghōṣayituṁ vacaḥ| nētrāṇi dātumandhēbhyastrātuṁ baddhajanānapi|
The sprete of the lorde vpon me because he hath annoynted me: to preache ye gospell to ye poore he hath sent me: and to heale the broken harted: to preache delyverauce to the captive and sight to the blinde and frely to set at lyberte them that are brused
19 parēśānugrahē kālaṁ pracārayitumēva ca| sarvvaitatkaraṇārthāya māmēva prahiṇōti saḥ||
and to preache the acceptable yeare of the Lorde.
20 tataḥ pustakaṁ badvvā paricārakasya hastē samarpya cāsanē samupaviṣṭaḥ, tatō bhajanagr̥hē yāvantō lōkā āsan tē sarvvē'nanyadr̥ṣṭyā taṁ vilulōkirē|
And he cloosed the booke and gave it agayne to the minister and sate doune. And the eyes of all that were in the synagoge were fastened on him.
21 anantaram adyaitāni sarvvāṇi likhitavacanāni yuṣmākaṁ madhyē siddhāni sa imāṁ kathāṁ tēbhyaḥ kathayitumārēbhē|
And he began to saye vnto them. This daye is this scripture fulfilled in youre eares.
22 tataḥ sarvvē tasmin anvarajyanta, kiñca tasya mukhānnirgatābhiranugrahasya kathābhiścamatkr̥tya kathayāmāsuḥ kimayaṁ yūṣaphaḥ putrō na?
And all bare him witnes and wondred at the gracious wordes which proceded oute of his mouth and sayde: Is not this Iosephs sonne?
23 tadā sō'vādīd hē cikitsaka svamēva svasthaṁ kuru kapharnāhūmi yadyat kr̥tavān tadaśrauṣma tāḥ sarvāḥ kriyā atra svadēśē kuru kathāmētāṁ yūyamēvāvaśyaṁ māṁ vadiṣyatha|
And he sayde vnto them: Ye maye very well saye vnto me this proverbe: Phisicion heale thy silfe. Whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum do the same here lyke wyse in thyne awne countre.
24 punaḥ sōvādīd yuṣmānahaṁ yathārthaṁ vadāmi, kōpi bhaviṣyadvādī svadēśē satkāraṁ na prāpnōti|
And he sayde verely I saye vnto you: No Prophet is accepted in his awne countre.
25 aparañca yathārthaṁ vacmi, ēliyasya jīvanakālē yadā sārddhatritayavarṣāṇi yāvat jaladapratibandhāt sarvvasmin dēśē mahādurbhikṣam ajaniṣṭa tadānīm isrāyēlō dēśasya madhyē bahvyō vidhavā āsan,
But I tell you of a truth many wyddowes were in Israell in the dayes of Helias when hevyn was shet thre yeres and syxe monethes when greate fammisshemet was throughoute all the londe
26 kintu sīdōnpradēśīyasāriphatpuranivāsinīm ēkāṁ vidhavāṁ vinā kasyāścidapi samīpē ēliyaḥ prēritō nābhūt|
and vnto none of them was Helias sent save in to Sarephta besydes Sidon vnto a woma that was a widow.
27 aparañca ilīśāyabhaviṣyadvādividyamānatākālē isrāyēldēśē bahavaḥ kuṣṭhina āsan kintu surīyadēśīyaṁ nāmānkuṣṭhinaṁ vinā kōpyanyaḥ pariṣkr̥tō nābhūt|
And many lepers were in Israel in the tyme of Heliseus the Prophete: and yet none of them was healed savinge Naaman of Siria.
28 imāṁ kathāṁ śrutvā bhajanagēhasthitā lōkāḥ sakrōdham utthāya
And as many as were in ye sinagoge when they herde that were filled with wrath:
29 nagarāttaṁ bahiṣkr̥tya yasya śikhariṇa upari tēṣāṁ nagaraṁ sthāpitamāstē tasmānnikṣēptuṁ tasya śikharaṁ taṁ ninyuḥ
and roose vp and thrust him oute of the cite and ledde him eve vnto the edge of the hill wher on their cite was bilte to cast him doune hedlynge.
30 kintu sa tēṣāṁ madhyādapasr̥tya sthānāntaraṁ jagāma|
But he went his waye eve thorow the myddes of them:
31 tataḥ paraṁ yīśurgālīlpradēśīyakapharnāhūmnagara upasthāya viśrāmavārē lōkānupadēṣṭum ārabdhavān|
and came in to Capernaum a cyte of Galile and there taught the on the Saboth dayes.
32 tadupadēśāt sarvvē camaccakru ryatastasya kathā gurutarā āsan|
And they were astonyed at his doctrine: for his preachige was wt power.
33 tadānīṁ tadbhajanagēhasthitō'mēdhyabhūtagrasta ēkō jana uccaiḥ kathayāmāsa,
And in the synagoge ther was a ma which had a sprete of an vncleane devell and cryed with aloude voyce
34 hē nāsaratīyayīśō'smān tyaja, tvayā sahāsmākaṁ kaḥ sambandhaḥ? kimasmān vināśayitumāyāsi? tvamīśvarasya pavitrō jana ētadahaṁ jānāmi|
sayinge: let me alone what hast thou to do with vs thou Iesus of Nazareth? Arte thou come to destroye vs? I knowe the what thou arte eve the holy of God.
35 tadā yīśustaṁ tarjayitvāvadat maunī bhava itō bahirbhava; tataḥ sōmēdhyabhūtastaṁ madhyasthānē pātayitvā kiñcidapyahiṁsitvā tasmād bahirgatavān|
And Iesus rebuked him sayinge: holde thy peace and come oute of him. And the devyll threwe him in the myddes of them and came oute of him and hurt him not.
36 tataḥ sarvvē lōkāścamatkr̥tya parasparaṁ vaktumārēbhirē kōyaṁ camatkāraḥ| ēṣa prabhāvēṇa parākramēṇa cāmēdhyabhūtān ājñāpayati tēnaiva tē bahirgacchanti|
And feare came on them all and they spake amonge them selves sayinge: what maner a thinge is this? For with auctorite and power he commaundeth the foule spretes and they come out?
37 anantaraṁ caturdiksthadēśān tasya sukhyātirvyāpnōt|
And ye fame of him spreed abroode thorowoute all places of the countre round aboute.
38 tadanantaraṁ sa bhajanagēhād bahirāgatya śimōnō nivēśanaṁ pravivēśa tadā tasya śvaśrūrjvarēṇātyantaṁ pīḍitāsīt śiṣyāstadarthaṁ tasmin vinayaṁ cakruḥ|
And he roose vp and came oute of ye sinagoge and entred in to Simons housse. And Simos motherelawe was take with a greate fever and they made intercession to him for her.
39 tataḥ sa tasyāḥ samīpē sthitvā jvaraṁ tarjayāmāsa tēnaiva tāṁ jvarō'tyākṣīt tataḥ sā tatkṣaṇam utthāya tān siṣēvē|
And he stode over her and rebuked the fever: and it leeft her. And immediatly she arose and ministred vnto them.
40 atha sūryyāstakālē svēṣāṁ yē yē janā nānārōgaiḥ pīḍitā āsan lōkāstān yīśōḥ samīpam āninyuḥ, tadā sa ēkaikasya gātrē karamarpayitvā tānarōgān cakāra|
When the sonne was doune all they that had sicke take with divers deseases brought them vnto him: and he layde his hondes on every one of them and healed them.
41 tatō bhūtā bahubhyō nirgatya cītśabdaṁ kr̥tvā ca babhāṣirē tvamīśvarasya putrō'bhiṣiktatrātā; kintu sōbhiṣiktatrātēti tē vividurētasmāt kāraṇāt tān tarjayitvā tadvaktuṁ niṣiṣēdha|
And devils also cam out of many of them crying and saying: thou arte Christ the sonne of God. And he rebuked them and suffered them not to speake: for they knewe that he was Christ.
42 aparañca prabhātē sati sa vijanasthānaṁ pratasthē paścāt janāstamanvicchantastannikaṭaṁ gatvā sthānāntaragamanārthaṁ tamanvarundhan|
Assone as it was daye he departed and went awaye into a desert place and ye people sought him and came to him and kept him that he shuld not departe from the.
43 kintu sa tān jagāda, īśvarīyarājyasya susaṁvādaṁ pracārayitum anyāni purāṇyapi mayā yātavyāni yatastadarthamēva prēritōhaṁ|
And he sayde vnto the: I muste to other cities also preache the kyngdome of God: for therfore am I sent.
44 atha gālīlō bhajanagēhēṣu sa upadidēśa|
And he preached in the synagoges of Galile.
