< Luke 11 >

1 Sûnkhat chu Jisua'n, mun inkhata chubai a thoa. A zoiin chu, a ruoisi inkhatin, “Pumapa, John'n a ruoisingei chubai tho a minchu ngei ngâi angin keini khom chubai tho mi minchu roh,” a tia.
When he finished praying in a certain place, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as Yochanan also taught his disciples.”
2 Hanchu, Jisua'n an kôma, “Chubai nin thoa anîn chu hi ang hin ti roi: ‘Kin Pa: Ni riming inthieng mirit om rese; Ne Rêngram juong tung rese.
He said to them, “When you pray, say, ‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
3 Nîngtin kin sâk rang anâng ngei mi pêk roh.
Give us day by day our daily bread.
4 Kin sietnangei mi ngâidam roh, Keini khomin, kin chunga saloi tho ngei kin ngâidam ngâi sikin, Minsinna intakna mi tuong no roh,’” a tipe ngeia.
Forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’”
5 Hanchu, Jisua'n a ruoisingei kôma, “Tumakhatin, jânchima a malpa ina se senla, ‘Mal, vâipôl tâpthum ni lei sem roh.
He said to them, “Which of you, if you go to a friend at midnight and tell him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,
6 Ka malpa khuola a honga, ite man sâk rang lak nei mu-unga!’” ti senla.
for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him,’
7 A malpan in sûng renga, “Ni hong jêl khâi no roh, inkhâr ka kal zoia, ka nâingei leh kin jâl kêng ani zoi. Inthoiin ite nang pêk thei khâi no ning!” ti ta senla.
and he from within will answer and say, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I can’t get up and give it to you’?
8 Hanchu, a mal ni nia, inthoiin nang a hong pêk no nâka, inzak loia ne ngênrît sikin inthoiin nu nuom dôr nang hong pêk a tih, a tia.
I tell you, although he will not rise and give it to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence, he will get up and give him as many as he needs.
9 “Masikin nangni ki ti, zong roi, ipêk nîng nin tih, rok roi man nin tih, tôk roi inkhâr mo-ong pe nîng nin tih.
“I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you.
10 Asikchu, tutu a zong kai chu ipêk nîng an ta, a rok kaiin chu man an ta, a tôk kai chu inkhâr mo-ong pe nîng an tih.
For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.
11 Nangni lâia pangei hin, nin nâingeiin ngâ nangni zong rese ngei, murûl pêk ung mo?
“Which of you fathers, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he won’t give him a snake instead of a fish, will he?
12 Nôn chu, ârtui nangni zong rese ngei, âinuvet pêk ung mo?
Or if he asks for an egg, he won’t give him a scorpion, will he?
13 Nangni misaloi ngeiin luo, nin nâingei neinun sa pêkna chang nin rietin te, nin Pa invâna omin vângin chu a nâingei idôra mo Ratha Inthieng ai pêk ok rang na! a zongpu murdi chu” a tia.
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?”
14 Hanchu, Jisua'n ramkhori chong theiloi inkhat a rujûlpaia, a jôk suole chu miriem chong theiloi hah a chong thei zoia. Mipuingei han an kamâm sabaka.
He was casting out a demon, and it was mute. When the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke; and the multitudes marvelled.
15 Ania, mi senkhatin chu, ramkhori rêngpa, Beelzebul kêng, rujûlpai theina ranak a pêk ani, an tia.
But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons.”
16 Senkhatin chu ama min ôkna rangin, Pathien renga sininkhel sin rangin an tia.
Others, testing him, sought from him a sign from heaven.
17 Ania, Jisua'n an mindonna a rieta, masikin an kôma, “Kho ram khom insena anni le anni indoi kai chu ram an tih, insûngkuo khom anni le anni indoi kai chu inmang an tih.
But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation. A house divided against itself falls.
18 Soitan rêngram khom pâl sinin anni le anni an indoiin te, inmo ânding ranga? Inmo, Beelzebulin rachamneina a pêka ramkhoringei a rujûlpai ngei ni nan ti thei,” a tipe ngeia.
If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul.
19 Ma anga Beelzebul sika ku rujûlpai ngâi anin le, nin nûkjûi ngeiin tu sikin mo an rujûlpai ngâi? Anni han nin dikloi ani iti nangni an minthâr ani.
But if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.
20 Hanchu, Pathien rachama ramkhoringei ka rujûlpai ngâi anin chu, Pathien Rêngram nin kôma ajuongtung tatak ani zoi a minthâr ani.
But if I by God’s finger cast out demons, then God’s Kingdom has come to you.
21 “Mi râtin râlrovo kipa, a in a ngâkin chu, a neinuntin mojôkin a om ngâi.
“When the strong man, fully armed, guards his own dwelling, his goods are safe.
22 Ania ama nêka rât uolin a hong doia, a menên chu, ân tûngna râlrovo nâm a lâk pea, a neinun ai lâk pe khom a sem minzar ngâi.
But when someone stronger attacks him and overcomes him, he takes from him his whole armour in which he trusted, and divides his plunder.
23 Tutu keima tienga kop loi kai chu midoi ania, tutu ni mintûp pui loi kai chu a chekminchâi ani.”
“He who is not with me is against me. He who doesn’t gather with me scatters.
24 Ratha saloi hah, mi sûng renga a jôkpaia anîn chu, tui boina rama inngam mun rokin a chai titira, a man loi tena chu, “Ki ina kîrnôk ki tih” a tia.
The unclean spirit, when he has gone out of the man, passes through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, ‘I will turn back to my house from which I came out.’
25 A hongkîr nôkin chu, in phiet min saia cherêl diem a mua.
When he returns, he finds it swept and put in order.
26 Hanchu a se nôka, ratha saloi dang sari, ama nêka puoloi uol a hong tuonga, an lûta, an om ngâi. Masikin ma miriem omdân anûka hah chu a motona nêkin a siet uol ngâi.
Then he goes and takes seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that man becomes worse than the first.”
27 Jisua'n ha chong hah a misîr zoiin chu, mipui lâi renga nupang inkhat a hêta, “Nupang nang a vonga nang a donsûinu chu satvur ani,” a tia.
It came to pass, as he said these things, a certain woman out of the multitude lifted up her voice and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts which nursed you!”
28 Jisua'n a thuona, “Pathien chong rieta a jôm ngei chu satvur anni uol,” a tipea.
But he said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it.”
29 Mipuingeiin an ûmhur lâiin Jisua'n, atûnlai mingei hih idôra siet mo anni zoi? Sininkhêl an zonga, hannisenla, Jonah minsinna pênna chu ite minsinna dang ipêk ni no nih.
When the multitudes were gathering together to him, he began to say, “This is an evil generation. It seeks after a sign. No sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet.
30 Nineveh, khuo mingei ranga dêipu Jonah minsinna ai ni anga han atûnlâi mingei rangin chu, Miriem Nâipasal hih minsinna nîng a tih.
For even as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so the Son of Man will also be to this generation.
31 Roijêk Nîn chu Thang tienga Rêngnu Sheba lân ding a ta, atûnlâi mingei theiloimintum a tih. Rêng Solomon vârna rangâi rang pielin ram latak renga a hong sikin. Nangni ki ril Rêng Solomon nêka lien uol hin a om.
The Queen of the South will rise up in the judgement with the men of this generation and will condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, one greater than Solomon is here.
32 Roijêk Nîn chu Nineveh mingei khom hong inding an ta, theiloi nangni min tum an tih. Jonah chong a rila an sietna renga an insîr sikin. Nangni ki ril Jonah nêka lien uol hin a om, a tia.
The men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgement with this generation, and will condemn it, for they repented at the proclaiming of Jonah; and behold, one greater than Jonah is here.
33 Tutên, châti mockokin, thupin bêl nuoia dar ngâi mak, a darna muna kêng an dar ngâi, mi a lût murdi'n avâr an mu theina rangin.
“No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, that those who come in may see the light.
34 Nin mitngei hi nin takpuma meivâr ang ani. Nin mit avârin chu, nin takpum khom a vâr iema, nin mit a sieta anîn chu nin takpum khom a jîngkhap ani.
The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore when your eye is good, your whole body is also full of light; but when it is evil, your body also is full of darkness.
35 Masikin, singthei roi, nin vâr ajîng loina rangin.
Therefore see whether the light that is in you isn’t darkness.
36 Hanchu, châtiin, nangni ai êlminvâr iem ngâi anga han nin takpum abâk ajîngna boi riekin, nin pumin vâr iem a tih.
If therefore your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly full of light, as when the lamp with its bright shining gives you light.”
37 Hanchu, Jisua a chong zoiin chu, Pharisee inkhatin ama leh bu nêk rangin a siela, male a sea, bu nêk rangin ânsunga.
Now as he spoke, a certain Pharisee asked him to dine with him. He went in and sat at the table.
38 Pharisee han, Jisua kut rusûk loia khalâi a ot a mûn chu a kamâm oka.
When the Pharisee saw it, he marvelled that he had not first washed himself before dinner.
39 Hanchu, Pumapa'n a kôma, “Nangni Phariseengei, kilât le bukhêng apêntieng nin minsâia, ania, nin sûng tieng chu huongna le sietna sip ani.
The Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter, but your inward part is full of extortion and wickedness.
40 Mo ngei, apêntienga sinpu, Pathien'n asûng tieng khom ai sin nimak mo?
You foolish ones, didn’t he who made the outside make the inside also?
41 Ni kilât le bukhênga om hah inriengngei pêk inla hanchu, neinuntin inthieng let a tih.”
But give for gifts to the needy those things which are within, and behold, all things will be clean to you.
42 “Nangni Phariseengei nin chung ântak bah na! nin neinun manvâng, lêngmesêr, chimu murdi, sômakhat Pathien nin pêka, hannisenla, indikna le lungkhamna chu nin seleta, ha tak hah kêng nin sintum, adangngei khom selet uol loiin.
But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and every herb, but you bypass justice and God’s love. You ought to have done these, and not to have left the other undone.
43 Nangni Phariseengei nin chung ântak bah na! Inkhom ina sukmun asa nin midita, bazar muna mingei nangni an jâ nin rangâi minluta.
Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the best seats in the synagogues and the greetings in the marketplaces.
44 Nin chung ântak bah na! Thân muruo sîntholoi mîn riet loia a chunga an lôn ang hah nin ni,” a tia.
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like hidden graves, and the men who walk over them don’t know it.”
45 Hanchu, Balam minchupu lâia inkhatin, a kôma, “Minchupu, ma ni ti hah keini khom mi na êrona kêng” a tia.
One of the Torah scholars answered him, “Rabbi, in saying this you insult us also.”
46 Jisua'n a thuona, “Nangni, Balam minchupungei khom nin chung ântak, mi chunga pêl ântak, puok rik nan bânga, a pêlpui rangin chu nin kutmitin le luo tôn mak chei.
He said, “Woe to you Torah scholars also! For you load men with burdens that are difficult to carry, and you yourselves won’t even lift one finger to help carry those burdens.
47 Nin chung ântak bah na! Nin richibul ngeiin an ithat dêipungei thân nin sinsiema.
Woe to you! For you build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
48 Nin richibul ngeiin dêipungei an lei that hah nangnin khom nin pompui minennân an thânngei nin sinsiema.
So you testify and consent to the works of your fathers. For they killed them, and you build their tombs.
49 Masikin, Pathien vârnân, Dêipungei le Thangtheingei tîr ka ta, senkhatngei that an ta, senkhatngei dûk mintong an tih,” a tia.
Therefore also the wisdom of God said, ‘I will send to them prophets and emissaries; and some of them they will kill and persecute,
50 Masikin rammuol insieng renga dêipungei an lei that sikin, atûnlâi mingei hih dûk mintong nîng an tih.
that the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation,
51 Abel an that renga Zakariah dênin, ama vâng chu mâichâm le Muninthieng kâra that ani. Nangni ki ti, masik piela han atûnlâi mingei dûk mintong nîng an tih.
from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary.’ Yes, I tell you, it will be required of this generation.
52 Balam minchupungei khom nin chung ântak bah na! Rietna inkhâr in ongna chabi nin vonga, nangni lak lût no tunuia, a lût rang a nuomngei tena nin khapa.
Woe to you Torah scholars! For you took away the key of knowledge. You didn’t enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in, you hindered.”
53 Hanchu, Jisua'n ha mun a mâkin chu, Balam minchupungei le Phariseengeiin an dema chong rekel tamtak an rekela.
As he said these things to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to be terribly angry, and to draw many things out of him,
54 Thuonna minchâi a neia sûr theina rangin an muruong chien ani.
lying in wait for him, and seeking to catch him in something he might say, that they might accuse him.
