< Yohana 1 >

1 Hula ahwande hwa hali izu lyali pamo no Ngolobhe, izu ali yo Ngolobhe.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 Eli, Ezu, Nalya handaga lyali pamo no Ngolobhe.
He was in the beginning with God.
3 Evintu vyonti vyabhombeshe ashilile omwene, asibhe omweje na hamo ata hantu hamo hahabhombeshe.
Everything was made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
4 Muhati yakwe mwali no womi, na wope owomi wali lukhozyo lwa bhantu bhonti.
In Him was life, and that life was the light of mankind.
5 Olukhozyo lwakholaga munkisi, enkisi yapotilwe aluzimye.
The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness hasn’t overcome it.
6 Pahali omuntu watumwilwe afume hwa Ngolobhe, ola itawa lyakwe ali yo Yohana.
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 Ahanzele nanshi keeti ahakikisye ahusu olukhozyo, aje bhonti nkabhapate ahweteshele ashilile hwamwene.
This man came as a witness, to testify about the light, that all through him might believe.
8 O Yohana sagali lukhozyo, ila ahenzele nkahakikisye ahusu lula olukozyo.
He wasn’t that light, but was sent as a witness of that light.
9 Esho alilukhozyo lwelyoli lula lwalwahenzaga munsi lyope lwapanga shila muntu.
The true light that enlightens everyone was coming into the world.
10 munsi, na ensi yabhombwelwe ashilile omwahale, na ensi seyamenye.
The Word was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world didn’t recognize Him.
11 Ahaenzele hwabhantu bhakwe, na awantu wakwe na abhantu wakwe sebhaposheye.
He came to His own, and those who were His own didn’t receive Him.
12 Ila hwabhala abhinji bhabhaposheye, bhabhahetesheye itawa lyakwe, nebho abhapiye elyoli eyaje bhana bha Ngolobhe,
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in His name:
13 Bhabhapepwe, se hwidanda, wala hulusongwo lwe bele, sio olusongwo lwa muntu, ila lwa Ngolobhe yoyo.
who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 Lyope izu lyabhoshe lwebele na lyakhala muhati yeetu, tiulolile oumwamu wakwe, oumwamu nashi wa muntu mwene wahenzele afume hwa Daada, amemile uwene ne lyoli.
The Word became flesh and lived among us, and we saw His glory, the glory as of the only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.
15 O Yohana ahakikizye ahusu omwene, na afumizye izu ayanje, “Ono yayola wanayanjile enongwa zyakwe najile, “Ola wayenza pamande yane yo gosi ashile ane, afuatanaje ahali kabla yaline.”
John testified about Him. He cried out, saying, “This was He who I told you about when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because He was before me.’”
16 Afuatanaje ashilile oluu golosu lwake, ate tenti tiposheye wene eshipawa baadaye shipawa.
From His fullness we have all received grace upon grace.
17 Afuatanaje endajizo zyaliletilwe ashilile oMusa. Ewene ne lyoli vyahenzele ashilile oYesu Kilisti.
The Law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
18 Nomo omuntu walolile Ongolobhe omuda gwagwonti. Omuntu mwene ambayo yo Ngolobhe, walipashifubha sha Daada, abhombile aje omwene amanyishe.
No one has ever seen God, but God’s only born Son, who is near to the heart of His Father, has made Him known.
19 Na olu luhakikisyo lwa Yohana lula adimi na lawi bhabhatumwilwe hwa mwene na Yahudi ahubhozye, “Aje awe wenanu?”
Now this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”
20 Bila asyoshe syoshe saga akhene, aje “Anesene Kilisiti.”
He confessed, and didn’t deny, but confessed, “I’m not the Christ.”
21 Esho bhabhaozyezye, “eshi awe we nanu esalezi?” We Eliya? Ajile, “Ane see yayoyo.” Wajile we kuwaa? Ajile,” Hagha.”
They asked him, “Then who are you? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” He answered, “No.”
22 Antele bhabhozya, “Wee nanu, aje nkati bhapele ijibu bhabhatitumile”? Uhwihakikisya bhole wewe humwene?”
Then they asked him, “Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”
23 Waga, “Ane ne lizu lyakwe walila mwipoli: 'Golosyaji idala lya Ngolobhe,' na okuwa oIsaya shayanjile.”
John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, “I am the voice of one calling in the desert, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’”
24 Eshi bhahali abhantu bhatumwile na Mafalisayo. Bhabhozyezya aje,
Now those who were sent were Pharisees.
25 “Yenu ohwozya eshi nkashewe Kilisiti wala see we Eliya okuwaa?”
They asked him, saying, “Why then do you baptize if you aren’t the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”
26 O Yohana abhabhozyezye ajile, “Embozya hu menze. Ata sheshi mhati yenyu ahwemelela omuntu wa semumenye amwe.
John answered them, saying, “I baptize with water, but One stands among you that you don’t know.
27 Onu ndiyo wanzahwenze pamande yaline. Ane sihwanziwa alegezye ekamba zye vilato.”
It is He who, coming after me, is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I’m not worthy to untie.”
28 Enongwa ezi zyabhombeshe ohwo hu Bethania, hwisyela lye Yordani, esehemu ambayo oYohana alihwozya.
This all happened at Bethany on the other side of the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
29 Isiku lyalyafwatile oYohana alolile uYesu ahwenza hwa mwene ajile, “Enya mwanangole wa Ngolobhe wahwega embibhi zya munsi!
The next day, John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Look! God’s Lamb who takes away the sin of the world!
30 ono yayola wana yanjile enongwa zyakwe najile, “Omwene wayenza hwi akhosi yane yo gosi ashile ane, afwatanaje ali hwitazi lyaline.'
This is the One I meant when I said, ‘A man who comes after me is preferred before me because He existed before me.’
31 Senamenye omwene, ila shabhombeshe esho aje nkobheneshe mu Israeli, aje nahenzele nabhozyaga na menze.”
I didn’t know Him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that He might be revealed to Israel.”
32 O Yohana ahakikisizye, “Aje nalolile Ompepo ahwiha afume amwanya ofwana ngwe njebha, yasageye pamwanya yakwe.
John testified, saying, “I saw the Spirit descending from Heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him.
33 Ane senamenye ila omwene wantumile aje enozyaje na menze ambozyezye, 'ola wobhalole empempo ehwiha na khale pamwanya yakwe, Oyo waibhozya hwo Mpepo Ofinjile.'
I wouldn’t have known Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘Whoever you see the Spirit descending upon, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’
34 Endolile na ehakikisizye aje ono Mwana wa Ngolobhe.”
I have seen and I testify that this is God’s Son.”
35 Nantele isiku lyalyafuatile oYohana ali ayemeleye pandwemo na bhanafunzi bhakwe bhabhele,
The next day, John again stood with two of His disciples.
36 bhalolile oYesu ajenda no Yohana ajile, “Enyaji, Omwana ngole wa Ngolobhe!”
When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look, God’s Lamb!”
37 bhabhele bhamwonvwezye oYohana nayanga ega bhafuatile oYesu.
The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus.
38 Nantele oYesu agalushe na bhalole abhanafunzi bhala bhahulondolela, nabhabhozye, “Mhwanza yenu?” Bhajile, “Labi, (emaana yakwe 'mwalimu,' ukhala hwii?”
Jesus turned, and seeing them following, asked them, “What are you looking for?” They said to Him, “Rabbi” (which, when translated, means Teacher), “Where are You staying?”
39 Wabhabhozya, “Enzaji mulole.”Nantele bhabhalile alole pale pakhalaga; bhakheye pamo nawo isiku elyo, afwatanaje yali efishile saa kumi eshi.
He told them, “Come and see.” They came and saw where He was staying, and spent that day with Him. It was about the tenth hour.
40 Omomo wa bhala bhabhele bhabhamwonvwezye oYohana nayanga nantele bhafwatile oYesu ali yo Andeleya, oholo wakwe oSimoni Petulo.
Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus.
41 Alolile oholo wakwe oSimoni omwana nahubhozye, “Tipete Omasihi” (maana yakwe Kilisiti).
The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother, Simon, and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, translated, the Christ).
42 Bhaleta hwa Yesu. O Yesu amwezi na ajile, “Awe we Simoni omwana wa Yohana” obhakwiziwe Kefa,” (maana yakwe 'Petulo').
Andrew brought Simon to Jesus. Jesus looked at him, and said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You will be called Cephas” (which is translated Peter).
43 Isiku lyalyafuatile oYesu lwahanzaga asogole abhale huGalilaya, amwajile oFilipo na hubhozye, “Nfwate ane.”
The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip, he told him, “Follow me.”
44 O Filipo ali khaya wa hu Bethsaida, ekhaya ya Andrea no Petulo.
Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.
45 O Filipo amwajile o Nathanaeli na hubhozye aje timwajile ola oMusa wa handishe enongwa zyakwe mu ndajizyo na Kuwaa. O Yesu omwana wa Yusufu, afume hu Nazareti.
Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found Him who Moses in the Law, and also the prophets, wrote about — Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”
46 O Nathanaeli abhozyezye, “Aje ahantu ahinza hawezizye afumile hu Nazareti?” O Filipo abhozezye, Aje enzaga olole.”
Nathanael asked Philip, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip told Nathanael, “Come and see.”
47 U Yesu walola oNathanaeli ahwenza hwa mwene wayanga, “Waga oyenye Omwisraeli welyoli lyoli wasaga ali nilenka muhati yakwe!”
Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him, and said of Nathanael, “Look! An Israelite indeed, who has no deceit in him!”
48 O Nathanaeli wabhozya, “Amenyebhole ane?” O Yesu wabhozya, “Salisele oFilipo ahukwizye nawahali pansi yikwi.”
Nathanael asked Him, “How do You know me?” Jesus answered, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”
49 O Nathanaeli wayanga, “Waga Mwalimu awe oli Mwana wa Ngolobhe! Awe oli mwene we Wisraeli”!
Nathanael answered, “Rabbi, You are God’s Son. You are the King of Israel.”
50 O Yesu wayanag wabhozya, “Aje afuatanaje nabhozezye 'nalilolile pansi yikwi aje ohweteshele obhalole embombo engosi ashile ezi.”
Jesus said to him, “Because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these.”
51 O Yesu wabhabhozya aje eteshile etesheli embabho lya mubhazilole emwonya zihwiguha, mubhabhalole ahalozelu wazubha na hwishe amwanya hwa Mwana wa Adamu.”
And He told him, “Most assuredly, I tell you, you will see Heaven opened, and God’s angels ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”
