< Efesus 4 >

1 Au ulalao Lamatua ngga ue-tataon, losa au dadꞌi atahori bꞌui. De ia na, au ae kokoe nggi fo ama leo-lao no matetuꞌ tungga Lamatualain hihii-nanaun, huu Ana noꞌe nala nggi dadꞌi atahorin ena.
I exhort you, therefore, I, the prisoner in the Lord, to walk in a manner worthy of the calling wherewith ye were called: —
2 Huu naa, hei musi misodꞌa miloe-midꞌae ralam, ma misodꞌa esa malole no esa ma esa sue esa. Musi miꞌitataaꞌ ma mihine esa no esa hihii-nanaun.
With all lowliness and meekness, with long suffering, bearing one with another in love,
3 Sangga dꞌala tebꞌe-tebꞌeꞌ fo misodꞌa esa badꞌame no esa, huu Lamatualain Dula-dꞌalen tao hei dadꞌi esa ena.
Giving diligence to keep—the oneness of the Spirit in the uniting-bond of peace, —
4 Huu Yesus Kristus atahori nara dadꞌi reu esa onaꞌ Eni ao hehelin ena.
One body, and one spirit, even as ye were also called in one hope of your calling,
5 Hita Lamatuan, akaꞌ esaꞌ a; Hita tamahere tara, akaꞌ dalaꞌ esaꞌ a, fo bisa badꞌame to E. Ma basa hita simbo saraniꞌ, fo dadꞌi teu esa to E.
One Lord, one faith, one immersion,
6 Lamatualain, akaꞌ esaꞌ a, Ma hita Aman, akaꞌ Eni. Akaꞌ Eni mana parenda basa hita. Akaꞌ Eni mana naꞌabꞌue no basa hita.
One God and Father of all—who is over all, and through all, and in all.
7 Yesus Kristus bꞌanggi koasan fee neu hita ena, fo hita esa-esaꞌ talalao Eni ue-tataon.
To each one of you, however, hath favour been given, according to the measure of the free-gift of the Christ;
8 Naa de Lamatuaꞌ Susura Meumaren nae, “Ana hene nisiꞌ mamana naruꞌ, fo natati sia naa losa nasenggiꞌ. Basa fo, no baliꞌ atahori nenehumu nalaꞌ ra naen seli, ma banggi-bꞌaꞌe hahambuꞌ fee atahori.”
Wherefore he saith—Ascending on high, he took captivity captive, [and] gave gifts unto men.
9 (Misinedꞌa dedꞌea-oꞌolaꞌ oi, “Ana hene”. Mete ma Ana hene, naa sosoan nae, lele uluꞌ a Ana onda nita raefafoꞌ nema.
Now this, He ascended; what is it, —save—that he also descended into the under parts of the earth?
10 Dadꞌi atahori mana ondaꞌ naa, Kristus. Huu Eni mana hene baliꞌ sorga neu, fo mete-seꞌu basa-bꞌasaꞌ mana sia lalai no raefafoꞌ.)
He that descended, he, it is who also ascended over-above all the heavens, that he might fill all things;
11 Kristus mana fee koasa neu atahori nara, fo ara ralalao ue-tataos fo Ana bꞌanggi basa fee se ena. Ana fee koasan neu ruma dadꞌi dedꞌenun, ruma dadꞌi, ruma dadꞌi manatadꞌa soaꞌ neu atahori nara, ruma dadꞌi atahori mahineꞌ mana ranori Eni atahorin, ma ruma fai dadꞌi mana nendi Hara-lii Maloleꞌ nisiꞌ mamana-mamana feuꞌ
And, he, gave—some, indeed, to be apostles, and some, prophets, and some, evangelists, and some, shepherds and teachers, —
12 Esa-esaꞌ simbo ue-tataon fo tao rehehere Kristus atahorin nara, fo basa se bisa ralalao Eni ue-tataon. No taꞌo naa, basa hita mana tamahere neu Kristus boe maꞌadere,
With a view to the fitting of the saints for the work of ministering, for an upbuilding of the body of the Christ;
13 losa basa hita tamahere no ralaꞌ sa. Ma basa hita tahine tebꞌe-tebꞌeꞌ Lamatualain Anan. Hita nda onaꞌ anadikiꞌ sa ena, huu hita tungga tebꞌe-tebꞌeꞌ dꞌalan ena, ma dadꞌi atahori mana nasodꞌa tungga basa Eni hihii-nanaun.
Until we all advance—into the oneness of the faith, and the personal knowledge of the Son of God, into a man of full-growth, into the measure of the stature of the fulness of the Christ;
That we may, no longer, be infants—billow-tossed and shifted round with every wind of teaching, —in the craft of men, in knavery suited to the artifice of error;
15 Te hita olaꞌ a maloleꞌ tungga matetun fee toronoo tara, huu hita sue se. De mete ma tasodꞌa onaꞌ naa sia sudꞌiꞌ a dalaꞌ bee, hita dadꞌi onaꞌ Kristus. Te Eni, Malangga mana mete-seꞌu hita.
But, pursuing truth—may, in love, grow into him in all things, —who is the head, Christ, —
Out of whom all the body—fitly framing itself together, and connecting itself, through means of every joint of supply, by way of energising in the measure of each single part—secureth the growing of the body, unto an upbuilding of itself in love.
17 Rena malolole saa fo au ae ola ia, huu Lamatua ngga mana nafadꞌe au. Ama afiꞌ sudꞌi misodꞌa onaꞌ atahori nda mana nahine Lamatualain sa. Te saa fo ara taoꞌ naa, tunggaꞌ a nggoa nara.
This, therefore, am I saying and protesting in the Lord: —that, no longer, ye walk even as, the nations, walk—in the vanity of their minds,
Being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God—by reason of the ignorance that existeth within them, by reason of their hearts being turned into stone,
19 Ara nda rahine mamaet sa ena. De ara tunggaꞌ a hihii-nanau nara, ma rasodꞌa manggenggeoꞌ. Te ara o nda medꞌa rae naa dai ena sa.
Who, indeed, having become past feeling, have delivered, themselves, up, with wantonness, unto making a trade of all impurity with greed.
20 Te Kristus dꞌala masodꞌan, fo hei minoriꞌ a, nda taꞌo naa sa!
Ye, however, have, not thus, learned the Christ: —
21 Huu saa fo hei minori soꞌal Yesus Kristus, memaꞌ nenori ndoo-tetuꞌ. Neꞌo hei rena ena, to!
If, at least, it is, him, ye have heard, and, in him, ye have been taught—even as truth is in Jesus, —
22 Dadꞌi lao hela masodꞌa mbara mara! Te mete ma misodꞌa manggenggeoꞌ tunggaꞌ a atahori hihii-nanaun, hei nene pepeko-lelekoꞌ taꞌoꞌ a naa ena. Hei nda miꞌena hak sia naa sa ena.
That ye were to strip off—as regardeth the former behaviour—the old man, who corrupteth himself according to his deceitful covetings,
23 Te hela fo Lamatualain tao rala-dꞌudꞌuꞌa mara dadꞌi feuꞌ,
And were to be getting young again in the spirit of your mind,
24 fo ama dadꞌi atahori feuꞌ onaꞌ Eni mata-aon boe. Dadꞌi hei musi mitudꞌu rala feuꞌ, no ndoos ma meumareꞌ.
And were to put on the man of new mould, who, after God, hath been created in his truthful righteousness and loving kindness.
25 De ia na, miloeꞌ peko-lelekoꞌ leo! Esa olaꞌ ndoo-tetuꞌ no esa, huu basa nggita nenepaꞌaꞌ dadꞌi esa, ona, aoꞌ esa naꞌena ei-limaꞌ ma mbana-bafaꞌ.
Wherefore, stripping off what is false, be speaking truth each one with his neighbour, because we are members one of another;
Afiꞌ mimbedaꞌ nasat losa relo mopo!
Be ye angry, and not committing sin, let not the sun be going down upon your angry mood,
Neither be giving place unto the adversary;
28 Atahori mana hiiꞌ a ramanaꞌo, miloeꞌ leo! Malole lenaꞌ atahori onaꞌ naa tao ues no maloleꞌ nendiꞌ lima hehelin, fo ana bisa babꞌanggi buna-bꞌoaꞌ no atahori mana tudꞌa lololeꞌ ra.
Let, the stealer, no more, steal, but rather let him be toiling, —working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have [wherewith] to be giving away to him that hath need;
29 Mete ma olaꞌ, afiꞌ olaꞌ deꞌulakaꞌ, mae akaꞌ dedꞌea-dꞌekeꞌ sa a! Malole lenaꞌ olaꞌ maloleꞌ.
Let, no putrid discourse, out of your mouth, be going forth, but if anything is good—suited to the needful upbuilding, —that it may give benefit unto them that hear;
30 Afiꞌ nameraꞌ Lamatualain Dula-dꞌale Meumaren ralan, te Ana sia rala mara. Ma Ana henggene hei ena nae, hei ia, Lamatualain enan. Dula-dꞌalen o fee tatanda nemehereꞌ oi, losa fai mateteꞌen, Lamatualain fee masodꞌaꞌ neu nggi fo misodꞌa mikindoo mo E.
And be not grieving the Holy Spirit of God, wherewith ye have been sealed unto a day of redemption;
31 De afiꞌ mimbedaꞌ ralaꞌ mo atahori laen! Afiꞌ mingginggio mbali atahori! Afiꞌ miminasa! Afiꞌ mitofa-miiu! Afiꞌ miꞌimuti atahori naran. Ma afiꞌ tao dꞌala deꞌulakaꞌ laen ra fai!
All bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and outcry, and profane speaking, let it be taken away from you, with all baseness;
32 Malole lenaꞌ hei esa sue esa, ma esa tao dꞌala maloleꞌ no esa. Hei musi liliiꞌ hendi atahori sala-kilu nara, ma fee ambon neu e, onaꞌ Lamatualain fee ambon neu sala mara, huu hei nenepaꞌaꞌ mo Kristus ena.
And be ye gracious one to another, tenderly affectionate, in favour forgiving one another—even as, God also, in Christ, hath in favour forgiven you;
