1 Basa naa ma, mane Agripa denu Paulus oi, “Musulaꞌe ao ma leo. Basa hai mae rena nggo ena.” Boe ma Paulus lo lima na, ma olaꞌ nae,
And, Agrippa, to Paul, said—It is permitted thee, on thine own behalf, to be speaking. Then Paul, stretching forth his hand, went on to make his defence.
2 “Ama mane Agripa nenefee hadꞌat. Au umuhoꞌo, huu amaꞌ fee au ufadꞌe neu amaꞌ se, basa dalaꞌ saa fo atahori Yahudi ra rapepenggo neu auꞌ a.
Concerning all things of which I am accused by Jews, King Agrippa, I have been counting myself happy, that, before thee, am I about, this day, to be making my defence;
3 Au bubꞌuluꞌ amaꞌ nahine tebꞌe, hai atahori Yahudi ra adat ma, ma hai masodꞌa mate-mori mara. Dadꞌi au oꞌe amaꞌ rena malolole.
especially, as thou art, well-versed, in all the Jewish customs and questions. Wherefore, I beseech thee, patiently, to hear me.
4 Eniꞌ a aꞌana ngga, ara ranori au tungga adat atahori Yahudi ra. Fefeu na, ranori au mia kamboꞌ ngga; basa ma uma sakola seluꞌ mia Yerusalem. Atahori Yahudi mana sia Yerusalem ra, bubꞌuluꞌ au masodꞌa ngga, ma rahine au no maloleꞌ.
My manner of life, then, from my youth, which, from its commencement, was formed among my nation, even in Jerusalem, know all Jews,
5 Mete ma malangga agama ra nau, ara bisa dui oi sira rahine au mia doo na neu. Te au ia, masoꞌ partei agama Farisi boe. Basa atahori bubꞌuluꞌ, hai atahori Farisi ia ra, mana toꞌu mihereꞌ atahori Yahudi ra atoran agama na.
inasmuch as they were aforetime observing me, from the outset, —if they please to bear witness, —that, according to the strictest sect of our own religion, I lived, a Pharisee.
6 Au, o basa atahori Israꞌel leo kasanahulu ruaꞌ ra, mihani Lamatualain tao tungga hehelu-fufuli Na. Ana tao hehelu-fufuliꞌ naa eniꞌ a maꞌahulu na no hita bei-baꞌi nara. Naa de, losa ia basa hai hule-oꞌe hatuꞌ-rerelon fo Lamatualain tao natetu hehelu-fufuliꞌ naa leo. Hehelu-fufuliꞌ naa oi, dei fo Lamatualain tao nasodꞌa baliꞌ atahori mates ra. Ama mane Agripa nenefee hadꞌat. Huu au umehere ae, dei fo Lamatualain tao nasodꞌa baliꞌ atahori mates, naa de ara radꞌedꞌea ro au. Au ae utane: taꞌo bee de hei ruma nda nau mimihere mae Lamatualain bisa tao nasodꞌa baliꞌ atahori mates ra sa? Ana bisa!
And, now, for the hope of the promise, unto our fathers, being brought to pass by God, am I standing to be judged, —
unto which [hope], our twelve-tribed nation, with intensity, night and day, rendering divine service, is hoping to attain—concerning which hope, I am being accused by Jews, O King!
What! incredible, is it judged with you, that, God the dead doth raise?
9 Dalahulu na, memaꞌ au sudꞌiꞌ a tao sa, fo labꞌan uhereꞌ basa atahori mana tungga Yesus, atahori Nasaret a.
I, therefore, imagined to myself, that, against the name of Jesus the Nazarene, it was needful, many hostile things, to bring about, —
10 Leleꞌ naa, malangga agama Yahudi malangga ra fee koasa neu au, fo uu tao uꞌusususaꞌ Yesus atahori nara sia bee-bꞌee. Au toꞌu se, ma nore o se Yerusalem rema, fo tao se bui rala reu. Au o tungga uꞌetuꞌ hukun isa ruma. Au masoꞌ ume hule-oꞌeꞌ ra, fo tao doidꞌoso se. Ma uꞌususuuꞌ se fo rasadea Yesus. Au uu oi se lao hetar no nasaat. Sadꞌi au rena atahori mana ramahere Yesus sia bee, mae losa nusa feaꞌ o, au uu oi se!”
which also I did in Jerusalem, yea and, many of the saints, I myself, in prisons, shut up, —the authority, from the High-priests, having received: and, when they were to be put to death, I brought against them my vote;
and, throughout all the synagogues, ofttimes punishing them, I would fain have compelled them to defame; and, being excessively maddened against them, I went on to pursue them as far as even the outlying cities.
12 Boe ma Paulus olaꞌ nakandoo nae, “Lao esa, malangga agama Yahudi malangga ra fee susura koasa neu au fo uu oi Yesus atahori nara sia kota Damsik. Boe ma, au o uu boe.
Among which things, being on a journey unto Damascus, with the authority and commission of the High-priests,
13 Ama mane Agripa! Leleꞌ hai feꞌe sia dalaꞌ, mbei ma reorendu na, aiboiꞌ ma, manggareloꞌ sa mia lalai a ronda na seli, delo dai au o nonoo nggara.
at mid-day, on the road, I saw, O King, from heaven, above the splendour of the sun, shining around me, a light, and [around] them who, with me, were journeying;
14 Basa hai miꞌiloli, huu manggerelo na seli. Au rena haraꞌ esa olaꞌ no au, nendiꞌ dedꞌea Aram oi, ‘We Saul! Taꞌo bee de ho akaꞌ tao doidꞌoso Au mukundooꞌ a? Susa neu nggo, mete ma ho akaꞌ a labꞌan Au hihii Ngga.’
and, when we were all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice, saying unto me, in the Hebrew language—Saul! Saul! why, me, art thou persecuting? It is hard for thee, against goads, to be kicking!
15 Au rena haraꞌ naa, te nda ita atahori na sa. De au utane ae, ‘Malangga mana olaꞌ ia, seka e?’ Haraaꞌ naa nataa oi, ‘Au ia, Yesus, fo ho tao doidꞌoso mukundondooꞌ a.
And, I, said—Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said—I, am Jesus, whom, thou, art persecuting!
16 Saul! Fela leo! Au utudꞌu ao ngga neu ho ia, fo dadꞌi Au atahori namahere ngga. Ho musi muu mufadꞌe basa atahori ra, saa fo mita mia Au faiꞌ ia. Dei fo Au utudꞌu seluꞌ fai, mata-feuꞌ ra, fo bisa muu mufadꞌe atahori ra.
But rise and stand upon thy feet; for, to this end, have I appeared unto thee, —To appoint thee an attendant and a witness, both of the things as to which thou hast seen me, and of those as to which I will appear unto thee:
17 Dei fo ho hambu sususaꞌ mataꞌ-mataꞌ. Te au unea nggo mia atahori mana rae raꞌasususaꞌ ho ra, mae mia atahori Yahudi, do mia atahori feaꞌ ra. Tebꞌe! Au denu nggo misiꞌ atahori nda Yahudi ra sa.
Rescuing thee from among the people, and from among the nations, unto whom, I, am sending thee—
18 Muu tao mulaa mata nara, fo rahine, ma rasodꞌa sia manggareloꞌ a. Naa fo, ara lao hela sira dala masodꞌa sala nara. Ho o musi mutudꞌu se dala masodꞌa ndos, ma mboꞌi se mia nitu ra malangga na koasa na, fo mendi se risiꞌ Lamatualain. No taꞌo naa, Lamatualain fee ambon neu sala nara. Ma ara o dadꞌi Lamatualain atahori Nara, onaꞌ atahori feaꞌ fo Ana tengga nalaꞌ ra, huu ramahere Au. Au ufadꞌe ho baꞌu a naa ena, Saul.’”
To open their eyes; that they turn from darkness unto light, and the authority of Satan unto God, that they may receive remission of sins, and an inheritance among them who have been made holy by the faith respecting me.
19 Basa naa ma, Paulus olaꞌ nakandoo oi, “Ama maneꞌ. Ue-tataos fo au simbo mia sorga naa, au ue-tao ena. Ma au o feꞌe ue-tao e, nda uꞌudꞌedꞌeaꞌ mbei saꞌ boe, losa faiꞌ ia.
Wherefore, O King Agrippa, —I became not disobedient unto the heavenly vision;
20 Fefeu na au ufadꞌe Yesus Dala Masodꞌa Na neu atahori Yahudi ra sia Damsik. Basa de au uma ufadꞌe atahori Yahudi mana sia Yerusalem, ma basa nusaꞌ Yudea. Basa ma, au lao ndule atahori nda Yahudi ra nusa nara. Au olaꞌ relo-relo neu basa se, fo ara lao hela dala masodꞌa sala nara, ma fee ao nara neu Lamatualain. Ara musi tao malole sia masodꞌa nara neu atahori feaꞌ, fo dadꞌi bukti oi sira dadꞌi atahori feuꞌ ena sia Lamatuaꞌ.
But—both to them in Damascus, first, and in Jerusalem, unto all the country of Judaea also, and unto the nations, I carried tidings—that they should repent, and turn unto God, and, works worthy of their repentance, should practise.
21 Huu au ue-tao taꞌo naa, atahori Yahudi ra toꞌu au mia Ume Hule-oꞌe Huuꞌ sia Yerusalem. Ara o rae tao risa au boe.
Because of these things, Jews seized me in the temple, and were attempting to slay me with their own hands.
22 Te Lamatualain tulu-fali au. Naa de, au feꞌe usodꞌa losa ia. Huu naa, au feꞌe umburiꞌ sia ia, fo dui-bꞌengga fee basa atahori anak-moko, soꞌal Yesus Dala Masodꞌa Na. Saa fo au ufadꞌeꞌ ia, ndaa no basa saa fo baꞌi Musa no Lamatualain mana ola-ola Nara ranori eniꞌ a maꞌahulu na.
So then, having met with, the help that is from God, until this day, do I stand, witnessing to both small and great, nothing else saying, than those things which both the prophets, and Moses, did say should certainly come to pass: —
23 Ara ranori soꞌal Kristus, atahori fo Lamatualain helu nae fee nemaꞌ a. Oi, Ana musi doidꞌoso, fo mate, te basa naa, Ana dadꞌi atahori fo Lamatualain nafefela naꞌahuluꞌ a. Dei fo Ana mana fee manggareloꞌ neu atahori Yahudi ra, no atahori feaꞌ sia raefafoꞌ ia.”
If, to suffer, the Christ was destined, if, the first of a resurrection of the dead, he is about to carry tidings, of light, both unto the people, and unto the nations.
24 Paulus feꞌe olaꞌ ue-tatao na ma, Festus olaꞌ nggero dedꞌea na nahereꞌ oi, “He! Paulus! Mbei ma ho mamuluꞌ. Muhine naeꞌ seli, de tao uta ma nda matetuꞌ sa.”
Now, as he was saying these things in his defence, Festus, with a loud voice, saith—Thou art raving, Paul! Thy great learning, is turning thee round unto, raving madness.
25 Te Paulus nataa oi, “Ama hofernor nenefee hadꞌat. Au nda umulu sa. Basa saa fo au olaꞌ ia, memaꞌ tebꞌe. Au nda ander-ander sa.
But Paul—I am not raving (saith he), most noble Festus, —but, the declarations of truth and soberness, am I sounding forth:
26 Ama Mane Agripa nahine saa fo au ufadꞌeꞌ ia, memaꞌ tebꞌe. Naa de, au umburani olaꞌ relo-relo. Au umuhere ama maneꞌ rena basa ia ra ena, huu saa fo mana dadꞌi ena, nda dadꞌi sia mamana maꞌafuniꞌ sa. Oi, Yesus mana mateꞌ naa, nasodꞌa baliꞌ ena. Basa atahori o, bubꞌuluꞌ ena.
For well-knoweth, the king, concerning these things, unto whom, with boldness of utterance, am I speaking; for, that these things are not hidden from him, I am well persuaded, —for, not in a corner, hath this thing been done.
27 Mia dalahulu na, Lamatualain mana ola-ola Nara rafadꞌe basa ena. Au umburani uꞌuheheeꞌ ae, ama maneꞌ o namahere mana ola-olaꞌ naa ra oꞌola nara, to?”
Believest thou, King Agrippa, in the prophets? I know that thou believest!
28 Te mane Agripa olaꞌ nggero nae, “Weh! Paulus! Nda dooꞌ sa te, ho mae tao au dadꞌi atahori Kristen!”
And, Agrippa, [said] unto Paul—Almost, art thou persuading, me, to become a, Christian!
29 Paulus nataa nae, “Taꞌo ia, amaꞌ. Au hule-oꞌe neu Lamatualain, fo dooꞌ, do losaꞌ o, nda akaꞌ a ama maneꞌ sa, te basa atahori mana rena neu au oꞌola ngga ia, bisa dadꞌi Yesus atahori nara, onaꞌ au. Te sadꞌi amaꞌ se afiꞌ dadꞌi atahori nda nenemboꞌit, onaꞌ au ia sa.”
And, Paul, [answered] —I could pray unto God that, both almost and altogether, not only thou but all they who are hearing me this day, might become such, —as even, I, am, excepting these bonds.
30 Paulus olaꞌ basa ma, mane Agripa no feto na Bernike, ma hofernor Festus, ro basa atahori monaen ra, fela rambariiꞌ de baliꞌ.
And the king rose up, and the governor, Bernice also, and they who had been sitting with them;
31 Ara lao dea reu ma, ara ola-olaꞌ oi, “Atahori ia nda tao salaꞌ nandaa no hukun mate sa. Ma nda nandaa tao e bui rala neu sa!”
And, retiring, they began conversing one with another, saying, Nothing worthy of death or of bonds, doth this man practise.
32 Boe ma mane Agripa nafadꞌe hofernor Festus oi, “Kasian o! Atahori ia noꞌe hene nisiꞌ mamana nggenggero huuꞌ a sia Roma. Hokoꞌ naa, dedꞌeat ia basa ena, ma ana o neneꞌmboꞌit ena.”
And, Agrippa, unto Festus, said—This man might have been released, if he had not appealed unto Caesar.
