Mateus 4
1 Então Jesus foi conduzido pelo Espírito ao deserto para ser tentado pelo diabo.
Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
2 Quando jejuou por quarenta dias e quarenta noites, depois teve fome.
And having fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward he was hungry.
3 O tentador veio e lhe disse: “Se você é o Filho de Deus, mande que estas pedras se tornem pão”.
And after he who tempts came, he said to him, If thou are the Son of God, speak so that these stones may become bread.
4 Mas ele respondeu: “Está escrito: 'O homem não viverá só de pão, mas de cada palavra que sai da boca de Deus'”.
But having answered, he said, It is written, Man will not live on bread alone, but on every word coming out through the mouth of God.
5 Então o diabo o levou para a cidade santa. Ele o colocou no pináculo do templo,
Then the devil takes him into the holy city, and stands him on the pinnacle of the temple.
6 e lhe disse: “Se você é o Filho de Deus, jogue-se no chão, pois está escrito, “Ele comandará seus anjos a seu respeito”, e, “Em suas mãos eles o levarão para cima, para que você não tropece no pé contra uma pedra”.
And he says to him, If thou are the Son of God, cast thyself down, for it is written, He will command his agents about thee, and, They will take thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
7 Jesus disse-lhe: “Mais uma vez, está escrito: 'Não testareis o Senhor, vosso Deus'”.
Jesus said to him, Again it is written, Thou shall not challenge the Lord thy God.
8 Novamente, o diabo o levou a uma montanha extremamente alta, e lhe mostrou todos os reinos do mundo e sua glória.
Again, the devil takes him onto an exceedingly high mountain, and shows him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them.
9 Ele lhe disse: “Eu lhe darei todas estas coisas, se você se prostrar e me adorar”.
And he says to him, All these things I give thee, if after falling down, thou will worship me.
10 Então Jesus disse-lhe: “Vai para trás de mim, Satanás! Pois está escrito: 'Adorarás ao Senhor teu Deus, e só a ele servirás'”.
Then Jesus says to him, Get thee behind me, Satan, for it is written, Thou shall worship the Lord thy God, and him only thou shall serve.
11 Então o diabo o deixou, e eis que os anjos vieram e o serviram.
Then the devil leaves him, and behold, agents came and served him.
12 Agora quando Jesus soube que João foi entregue, retirou-se para a Galiléia.
Now when Jesus heard that John was delivered up, he departed into Galilee.
13 Deixando Nazaré, ele veio e viveu em Cafarnaum, que fica à beira-mar, na região de Zebulom e Naftali,
And having left Nazareth behind, after coming, he dwelt in Capernaum by the sea in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali,
14 para que se cumprisse o que foi dito através do profeta Isaías, dizendo,
so that what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which says,
15 “A terra de Zebulom e a terra de Naftali, em direção ao mar, além do Jordão, Galileia dos Gentios,
The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles,
16 as pessoas que se sentaram na escuridão viram uma grande luz; para aqueles que se sentaram na região e sombra da morte, para eles amanheceu a luz”.
the people who dwell in darkness saw a great light, and to those who dwell in the region and shadow of death, light sprang up to them.
17 A partir daquele momento, Jesus começou a pregar e a dizer: “Arrependei-vos! Pois o Reino dos Céus está próximo”.
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent ye, for the kingdom of the heavens has approached.
18 Caminhando pelo mar da Galiléia, ele viu dois irmãos: Simão, que se chama Pedro, e André, seu irmão, lançando uma rede ao mar; pois eram pescadores.
And walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.
19 Ele lhes disse: “Venham atrás de mim, e eu vos farei pescadores de homens”.
And he says to them, Come behind me, and I will make you fishermen of men.
20 Eles deixaram imediatamente suas redes e o seguiram.
And straightaway having left the nets, they followed him.
21 Seguindo dali, ele viu dois outros irmãos, James, filho de Zebedee, e John, seu irmão, no barco com Zebedee, seu pai, remendando as redes. Ele os chamou.
And having gone on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. And he called them.
22 Eles deixaram imediatamente o barco e seu pai, e o seguiram.
And straightaway having left the boat and their father, they followed him.
23 Jesus andou por toda a Galiléia, ensinando em suas sinagogas, pregando a Boa Nova do Reino e curando todas as doenças e enfermidades entre o povo.
And Jesus went around all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
24 A reportagem sobre ele foi divulgada em toda a Síria. Trouxeram-lhe todos os que estavam doentes, aflitos com várias doenças e tormentos, possuídos por demônios, epilépticos e paralíticos; e ele os curou.
And his fame went forth into all Syria. And they brought to him all those faring badly with various diseases, and gripped with pain, and being demon-possessed, and being lunatic, and paralyzed. And he healed them.
25 Seguiram-no grandes multidões da Galiléia, Decápolis, Jerusalém, Judéia, e de além do Jordão.
And many multitudes from Galilee and Decapolis and Jerusalem and Judea and beyond the Jordan followed him.
