Lucas 7
1 Depois de terminar de falar na audiência do povo, ele entrou em Cafarnaum.
After he had finished speaking in the hearing of the people, he entered into Capernaum.
2 Um criado de um certo centurião, que lhe era querido, estava doente e no ponto da morte.
A certain centurion’s servant, who was dear to him, was sick and at the point of death.
3 Quando soube de Jesus, enviou-lhe os anciãos dos judeus, pedindo-lhe que viesse e salvasse seu servo.
When he heard about Jesus, he sent to him elders of the Jews, asking him to come and save his servant.
4 Quando chegaram a Jesus, imploraram-lhe com fervor, dizendo: “Ele é digno de fazer isto por ele,
When they came to Jesus, they begged him earnestly, saying, “He is worthy for you to do this for him,
5 pois ama nossa nação, e construiu nossa sinagoga para nós”.
for he loves our nation, and he built our synagogue for us.”
6 Jesus foi com eles. Quando já não estava longe de casa, o centurião enviou-lhe amigos, dizendo-lhe: “Senhor, não te incomodes, pois não sou digno de que venhas debaixo do meu teto”.
Jesus went with them. When he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying to him, “Lord, don’t trouble yourself, for I am not worthy for you to come under my roof.
7 Portanto, nem sequer me julguei digno de vir a Ti; mas dize a palavra, e meu servo será curado”.
Therefore I didn’t even think myself worthy to come to you; but say the word, and my servant will be healed.
8 Pois também eu sou um homem colocado sob autoridade, tendo sob minha alçada soldados. Eu digo a este: 'Vá!' e ele vai; e a outro: 'Venha!' e ele vem; e ao meu servo: 'Faça isto' e ele o faz”.
For I also am a man placed under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
9 Quando Jesus ouviu estas coisas, ele se maravilhou com ele, voltou-se e disse à multidão que o seguia: “Digo-vos, não encontrei tanta fé, não, não em Israel”.
When Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turned and said to the multitude who followed him, “I tell you, I have not found such great faith, no, not in Israel.”
10 Aqueles que foram enviados, retornando à casa, descobriram que o servo que havia estado doente estava bem.
Those who were sent, returning to the house, found that the servant who had been sick was well.
11 Pouco depois, ele foi para uma cidade chamada Nain. Muitos de seus discípulos, juntamente com uma grande multidão, foram com ele.
Soon afterwards, he went to a city called Nain. Many of his disciples, along with a great multitude, went with him.
12 Quando ele se aproximou do portão da cidade, eis que um morto foi executado, o único filho nascido de sua mãe, e ela era viúva. Muitas pessoas da cidade estavam com ela.
Now when he came near to the gate of the city, behold, one who was dead was carried out, the only born son of his mother, and she was a widow. Many people of the city were with her.
13 Quando o Senhor a viu, ele teve compaixão dela e lhe disse: “Não chore”.
When the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said to her, “Don’t cry.”
14 Ele se aproximou e tocou o caixão, e os carregadores ficaram parados. Ele disse: “Jovem, eu lhe digo, levante-se!”.
He came near and touched the coffin, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I tell you, arise!”
15 Ele, que estava morto, sentou-se e começou a falar. Depois o deu a sua mãe.
He who was dead sat up and began to speak. Then he gave him to his mother.
16 O medo tomou conta de todos, e eles glorificaram a Deus, dizendo: “Um grande profeta surgiu entre nós” e, “Deus visitou seu povo”!
Fear took hold of all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has arisen among us!” and, “God has visited his people!”
17 Este relatório foi publicado a respeito dele em toda a Judéia e em toda a região circunvizinha.
This report went out concerning him in the whole of Judea and in all the surrounding region.
18 Os discípulos de João lhe falaram sobre todas essas coisas.
The disciples of John told him about all these things.
19 João, chamando para si dois de seus discípulos, enviou-os a Jesus, dizendo: “Você é aquele que está vindo, ou devemos procurar outro?
John, calling to himself two of his disciples, sent them to Jesus, saying, “Are you the one who is coming, or should we look for another?”
20 Quando os homens chegaram até ele, disseram: “João Batista nos enviou a você, dizendo: 'Você é aquele que vem, ou devemos procurar outro?
When the men had come to him, they said, “John the Baptizer has sent us to you, saying, ‘Are you he who comes, or should we look for another?’”
21 Naquela hora ele curou muitas doenças e pragas e espíritos malignos; e a muitos que eram cegos ele deu a visão.
In that hour he cured many of diseases and plagues and evil spirits; and to many who were blind he gave sight.
22 Jesus lhes respondeu: “Ide e dizei a João as coisas que vistes e ouvistes: que os cegos recebam sua visão, os coxos andem, os leprosos sejam limpos, os surdos ouçam, os mortos sejam ressuscitados e os pobres tenham boas novas pregadas a eles.
Jesus answered them, “Go and tell John the things which you have seen and heard: that the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.
23 Abençoado aquele que não encontra ocasião para tropeçar em mim”.
Blessed is he who finds no occasion for stumbling in me.”
24 Quando os mensageiros de João partiram, ele começou a contar às multidões sobre João: “O que você saiu para o deserto para ver? Um caniço abalado pelo vento?
When John’s messengers had departed, he began to tell the multitudes about John, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?
25 Mas o que vocês saíram para ver? Um homem vestido com roupas macias? Eis que aqueles que estão lindamente vestidos e vivem delicadamente estão nos tribunais dos reis.
But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft clothing? Behold, those who are gorgeously dressed and live delicately are in kings’ courts.
26 Mas o que o senhor saiu para ver? Um profeta? Sim, eu lhe digo, e muito mais do que um profeta.
But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet.
27 Este é o profeta de quem está escrito, “Eis que eu envio meu mensageiro diante de seu rosto, que preparará seu caminho diante de você”.
This is he of whom it is written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.’
28 “Pois eu vos digo, entre aqueles que nascem de mulheres não há profeta maior do que João Batista; mas aquele que está menos no Reino de Deus é maior do que ele”.
“For I tell you, among those who are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptizer; yet he who is least in God’s Kingdom is greater than he.”
29 Quando todo o povo e os cobradores de impostos ouviram isto, declararam que Deus era justo, tendo sido batizado com o batismo de João.
When all the people and the tax collectors heard this, they declared God to be just, having been baptized with John’s baptism.
30 Mas os fariseus e os advogados rejeitaram o conselho de Deus, não tendo sido batizados por ele mesmo.
But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the counsel of God, not being baptized by him themselves.
31 “A que devo então comparar as pessoas desta geração? Como eles são?
“To what then should I compare the people of this generation? What are they like?
32 Eles são como crianças que se sentam no mercado e ligam umas para as outras, dizendo: 'Nós canalizamos para você, e você não dançou'. Choramos, e vocês não choraram'.
They are like children who sit in the marketplace and call to one another, saying, ‘We piped to you, and you didn’t dance. We mourned, and you didn’t weep.’
33 Para João Batista não veio comer pão nem beber vinho, e você diz: 'Ele tem um demônio'.
For John the Baptizer came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’
34 O Filho do Homem veio comendo e bebendo, e você diz: 'Veja, um glutão e um bêbado, um amigo de cobradores de impostos e pecadores!
The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Behold, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’
35 A sabedoria é justificada por todos os seus filhos”.
Wisdom is justified by all her children.”
36 Um dos fariseus o convidou para comer com ele. Ele entrou na casa do fariseu e sentou-se à mesa.
One of the Pharisees invited him to eat with him. He entered into the Pharisee’s house and sat at the table.
37 Eis que uma mulher na cidade que era pecadora, quando soube que ele estava reclinado na casa do fariseu, trouxe um frasco de alabastro com pomada.
Behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that he was reclining in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster jar of ointment.
38 De pé a seus pés chorando, ela começou a molhar seus pés com suas lágrimas e os enxugou com os cabelos de sua cabeça, beijou seus pés e os ungiu com o ungüento.
Standing behind at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears, and she wiped them with the hair of her head, kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
39 Agora, quando o fariseu que o havia convidado viu, disse para si mesmo: “Este homem, se fosse profeta, teria percebido quem e que tipo de mulher é esta que o toca, que ela é pecadora”.
Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw it, he said to himself, “This man, if he were a prophet, would have perceived who and what kind of woman this is who touches him, that she is a sinner.”
40 Jesus lhe respondeu: “Simão, tenho algo para lhe dizer”. Ele disse: “Professor, diga”.
Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to tell you.” He said, “Teacher, say on.”
41 “Um certo emprestador tinha dois devedores. Um devia quinhentos denários, e o outro cinqüenta.
“A certain lender had two debtors. The one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.
42 Quando eles não puderam pagar, ele perdoou a ambos. Qual deles, portanto, o amará mais?”.
When they couldn’t pay, he forgave them both. Which of them therefore will love him most?”
43 Simon respondeu: “Ele, suponho, a quem ele perdoou mais”. Ele disse a ele: “Você julgou corretamente”.
Simon answered, “He, I suppose, to whom he forgave the most.” He said to him, “You have judged correctly.”
44 Voltando-se para a mulher, ele disse a Simon: “Você vê esta mulher? Entrei em sua casa e você não me deu água para meus pés, mas ela molhou meus pés com suas lágrimas e os enxugou com os cabelos de sua cabeça.
Turning to the woman, he said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered into your house, and you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head.
45 Você não me deu nenhum beijo, mas ela, desde que entrei, não cessou de beijar meus pés.
You gave me no kiss, but she, since the time I came in, has not ceased to kiss my feet.
46 Você não ungiu minha cabeça com óleo, mas ela ungiu meus pés com pomada.
You didn’t anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment.
47 Portanto, eu lhe digo que seus pecados, que são muitos, são perdoados, pois ela amava muito. Mas aquele a quem pouco é perdoado, pouco ama”.
Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But one to whom little is forgiven, loves little.”
48 Ele disse a ela: “Seus pecados são perdoados”.
He said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
49 Aqueles que se sentaram à mesa com ele começaram a dizer para si mesmos: “Quem é este que perdoa os pecados?
Those who sat at the table with him began to say to themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?”
50 Ele disse para a mulher: “Sua fé o salvou. Vá em paz”.
He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”
