2 Tessalonicenses 1

1 Paulo, Silvanus e Timóteo, à assembléia dos Tessalonicenses em Deus nosso Pai e Senhor Jesus Cristo:

PAUL, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:

2 Graça a vós e paz de Deus nosso Pai e Senhor Jesus Cristo.

Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 Temos o dever de sempre dar graças a Deus por vocês, irmãos, mesmo que seja apropriado, porque sua fé cresce excessivamente, e o amor de cada um de vocês uns pelos outros abunda,

We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;

4 para que nós mesmos nos orgulhemos de vocês nas assembléias de Deus por sua perseverança e fé em todas as suas perseguições e nas aflições que vocês suportam.

So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:

5 Este é um sinal óbvio do justo julgamento de Deus, para que vocês sejam considerados dignos do Reino de Deus, pelo qual vocês também sofrem.

Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:

6 Pois é uma coisa justa com Deus retribuir a aflição àqueles que vos afligem,

Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;

7 e dar alívio a vós que estais aflitos conosco quando o Senhor Jesus é revelado do céu com seus anjos poderosos em fogo ardente,

And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

8 punishing aqueles que não conhecem a Deus, e àqueles que não obedecem à Boa Nova de nosso Senhor Jesus,

In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

9 que pagarão a pena: a eterna destruição da face do Senhor e da glória de seu poder, (aiōnios g166)

Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; (aiōnios g166)

10 quando vier naquele dia para ser glorificado em seus santos e para ser admirado entre todos aqueles que creram, porque nosso testemunho para vocês foi crido.

When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

11 Para este fim, também rezamos sempre por você para que nosso Deus possa contar com você digno de sua vocação e cumprir com poder todo desejo de bondade e obra de fé,

Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:

12 para que o nome de nosso Senhor Jesus seja glorificado em você, e você nele, segundo a graça de nosso Deus e do Senhor Jesus Cristo.

That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
