1 Reis 8

1 Então Salomão reuniu os anciãos de Israel com todos os chefes das tribos, os príncipes das famílias dos pais dos filhos de Israel, ao rei Salomão em Jerusalém, para trazer a arca da aliança de Iavé para fora da cidade de Davi, que é Sião.

Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, to king Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion.

2 Todos os homens de Israel se reuniram ao rei Salomão na festa no mês de Ethanim, que é o sétimo mês.

And all the men of Israel assembled themselves to king Solomon at the feast in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

3 Todos os anciãos de Israel vieram, e os sacerdotes pegaram a arca.

And all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.

4 Eles trouxeram a arca de Yahweh, a Tenda da Reunião e todos os vasos sagrados que estavam na Tenda. Os sacerdotes e os levitas os trouxeram para cima.

And they brought up the ark of the LORD, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, even those did the priests and the Levites bring up.

5 O rei Salomão e toda a congregação de Israel, que estavam reunidos com ele, estavam com ele diante da arca, sacrificando ovelhas e gado que não podiam ser contados ou numerados por multidão.

And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled to him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude.

6 Os sacerdotes trouxeram a arca da aliança de Iavé para seu lugar, para o santuário interior da casa, para o lugar santíssimo, mesmo sob as asas dos querubins.

And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD to his place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubim.

7 Pois os querubins estenderam suas asas sobre o lugar da arca, e os querubins cobriram a arca e seus postes acima.

For the cherubim spread forth their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and the staves thereof above.

8 Os postes eram tão longos que as extremidades dos postes eram vistas do lugar sagrado antes do santuário interior, mas não eram vistas do lado de fora. Eles estão lá até hoje.

And they drew out the staves, that the ends of the staves were seen out in the holy place before the oracle, and they were not seen without: and there they are to this day.

9 Não havia nada na arca, exceto as duas tábuas de pedra que Moisés colocou lá em Horeb, quando Javé fez um pacto com os filhos de Israel, quando eles saíram da terra do Egito.

There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

10 Quando os sacerdotes saíram do lugar santo, aconteceu que a nuvem encheu a casa de Iavé,

And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD,

11 para que os sacerdotes não suportassem ministrar por causa da nuvem; pois a glória de Iavé encheu a casa de Iavé.

So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD.

12 Então Salomão disse: “Yahweh disse que iria habitar na escuridão espessa”.

Then spoke Solomon, The LORD said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

13 I certamente construíram para você uma casa de morada, um lugar para você morar para sempre”.

I have surely built you an house to dwell in, a settled place for you to abide in for ever.

14 O rei virou seu rosto e abençoou toda a assembléia de Israel; e toda a assembléia de Israel ficou de pé.

And the king turned his face about, and blessed all the congregation of Israel: (and all the congregation of Israel stood; )

15 Ele disse: “Bendito seja Javé, o Deus de Israel, que falou com sua boca a Davi, seu pai, e cumpriu com sua mão, dizendo:

And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which spoke with his mouth to David my father, and has with his hand fulfilled it, saying,

16 'Desde o dia em que tirei meu povo Israel do Egito, não escolhi nenhuma cidade de todas as tribos de Israel para construir uma casa, para que meu nome pudesse estar lá; mas escolhi Davi para estar acima de meu povo Israel'.

Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build an house, that my name might be therein; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.

17 “Agora estava no coração de David meu pai construir uma casa para o nome de Iavé, o Deus de Israel.

And it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

18 Mas Javé disse a David, meu pai: “Enquanto estava em seu coração construir uma casa para o meu nome, você fez bem que estava em seu coração”.

And the LORD said to David my father, Whereas it was in your heart to build an house to my name, you did well that it was in your heart.

19 No entanto, não construirás a casa; mas teu filho, que sairá do teu corpo, construirá a casa em meu nome”.

Nevertheless you shall not build the house; but your son that shall come forth out of your loins, he shall build the house to my name.

20 Javé estabeleceu sua palavra que falou; pois me levantei no lugar de Davi, meu pai, e me sento no trono de Israel, como Javé prometeu, e construí a casa para o nome de Javé, o Deus de Israel.

And the LORD has performed his word that he spoke, and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

21 Aí estabeleci um lugar para a arca, na qual está o pacto de Iavé, que ele fez com nossos pais quando os tirou da terra do Egito”.

And I have set there a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.

22 Salomão apresentou-se diante do altar de Javé na presença de toda a assembléia de Israel, e estendeu suas mãos para o céu;

And Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven:

23 e disse: “Javé, o Deus de Israel, não há Deus como tu, no céu em cima, nem na terra em baixo; que mantém aliança e bondade amorosa com teus servos que caminham diante de ti de todo o coração;

And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keep covenant and mercy with your servants that walk before you with all their heart:

24 que manteve com teu servo Davi, meu pai, o que lhe prometeste. Sim, falou com a boca e a cumpriu com a mão, como é hoje.

Who have kept with your servant David my father that you promised him: you spoke also with your mouth, and have fulfilled it with your hand, as it is this day.

25 Agora, portanto, que Javé, o Deus de Israel, cumpra com seu servo Davi, meu pai, o que lhe prometeu, dizendo: “Não faltará de você um homem à minha vista para sentar-se no trono de Israel, se apenas seus filhos tomarem cuidado no seu caminho, para caminharem diante de mim como você caminhou diante de mim”.

Therefore now, LORD God of Israel, keep with your servant David my father that you promised him, saying, There shall not fail you a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that your children take heed to their way, that they walk before me as you have walked before me.

26 “Agora, portanto, Deus de Israel, por favor, permita que sua palavra seja verificada, a qual você falou com seu servo David, meu pai.

And now, O God of Israel, let your word, I pray you, be verified, which you spoke to your servant David my father.

27 Mas será que Deus habitará sobre a terra? Eis que o céu e o céu dos céus não te podem conter; quanto menos esta casa que eu construí!

But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain you; how much less this house that I have built?

28 Mas respeita a oração de teu servo e sua súplica, Javé meu Deus, para ouvir o grito e a oração que teu servo faz hoje diante de ti;

Yet have you respect to the prayer of your servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to listen to the cry and to the prayer, which your servant prays before you to day:

29 para que teus olhos estejam abertos para esta casa noite e dia, mesmo para o lugar do qual disseste: “Meu nome estará ali;” para ouvir a oração que teu servo faz para este lugar.

That your eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which you have said, My name shall be there: that you may listen to the prayer which your servant shall make toward this place.

30 Ouça a súplica de seu servo, e de seu povo Israel, quando rezarem em direção a este lugar. Sim, ouça no céu, seu lugar de morada; e quando ouvir, perdoe.

And listen you to the supplication of your servant, and of your people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: and hear you in heaven your dwelling place: and when you hear, forgive.

31 “Se um homem pecar contra seu próximo, e lhe for feito um juramento para fazê-lo jurar, e ele vier e jurar diante de seu altar nesta casa,

If any man trespass against his neighbor, and an oath be laid on him to cause him to swear, and the oath come before your altar in this house:

32 então ouça no céu, e aja, e julgue seus servos, condenando os ímpios, para trazer seu caminho sobre sua própria cabeça, e justificando os justos, para dar-lhe de acordo com sua justiça.

Then hear you in heaven, and do, and judge your servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way on his head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

33 “Quando seu povo Israel for atingido diante do inimigo por ter pecado contra você, se eles se voltarem novamente para você e confessarem seu nome, e orarem e fizerem súplicas a você nesta casa,

When your people Israel be smitten down before the enemy, because they have sinned against you, and shall turn again to you, and confess your name, and pray, and make supplication to you in this house:

34 então ouça no céu, e perdoe o pecado de seu povo Israel, e os traga novamente para a terra que você deu a seus pais.

Then hear you in heaven, and forgive the sin of your people Israel, and bring them again to the land which you gave to their fathers.

35 “Quando o céu estiver fechado e não houver chuva porque eles pecaram contra você, se orarem para este lugar e confessarem seu nome, e se voltarem do pecado deles quando você os afligir,

When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against you; if they pray toward this place, and confess your name, and turn from their sin, when you afflict them:

36 então ouça no céu, e perdoe o pecado de seus servos, e de seu povo Israel, quando você lhes ensinar o bom caminho em que devem andar; e envie chuva em sua terra que você deu ao seu povo por herança.

Then hear you in heaven, and forgive the sin of your servants, and of your people Israel, that you teach them the good way wherein they should walk, and give rain on your land, which you have given to your people for an inheritance.

37 “Se houver fome na terra, se houver peste, se houver ferrugem, míldio, gafanhoto ou lagarta; se seu inimigo os sitiar na terra de suas cidades, qualquer que seja a praga, qualquer que seja a doença,

If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, blasting, mildew, locust, or if there be caterpillar; if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities; whatever plague, whatever sickness there be;

38 qualquer que seja a oração e súplica feita por qualquer homem, ou por todo seu povo Israel, que conhecerá cada um a praga de seu próprio coração, e estenderá suas mãos para esta casa,

What prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all your people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:

39 então ouça no céu, sua morada, e perdoe, e aja, e dê a cada homem de acordo com todos os seus caminhos, cujo coração você conhece (para você, até mesmo você só, conhece o coração de todos os filhos dos homens);

Then hear you in heaven your dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart you know; (for you, even you only, know the hearts of all the children of men; )

40 para que eles possam temer-te todos os dias que viverem na terra que deste a nossos pais.

That they may fear you all the days that they live in the land which you gave to our fathers.

41 “Além disso, em relação ao estrangeiro, que não é do seu povo Israel, quando ele sair de um país distante por causa do seu nome

Moreover concerning a stranger, that is not of your people Israel, but comes out of a far country for your name’s sake;

42 (pois eles ouvirão do seu grande nome e da sua mão poderosa e do seu braço estendido), quando ele vier e rezar para esta casa,

(For they shall hear of your great name, and of your strong hand, and of your stretched out arm; ) when he shall come and pray toward this house;

43 ouça no céu, seu lugar de residência, e faça de acordo com tudo o que o estrangeiro chamar por você; para que todos os povos da terra saibam seu nome, para temê-lo, assim como seu povo Israel, e para que saibam que esta casa que construí é chamada pelo seu nome.

Hear you in heaven your dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calls to you for: that all people of the earth may know your name, to fear you, as do your people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have built, is called by your name.

44 “Se seu povo sair para lutar contra seu inimigo, por qualquer caminho que você os envie, e eles rezarem a Javé para a cidade que você escolheu, e para a casa que eu construí para seu nome,

If your people go out to battle against their enemy, wherever you shall send them, and shall pray to the LORD toward the city which you have chosen, and toward the house that I have built for your name:

45 então ouça no céu sua oração e sua súplica, e mantenha sua causa.

Then hear you in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

46 se pecarem contra ti (pois não há homem que não peque), e tu te indignares com eles e os entregares ao inimigo, para que os levem cativos para a terra do inimigo, longe ou perto;

If they sin against you, (for there is no man that sins not, ) and you be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives to the land of the enemy, far or near;

47 yet se eles se arrependerem na terra onde são levados cativos, e se voltarem novamente, e te suplicarem na terra daqueles que os levaram cativos, dizendo: 'Nós pecamos e fizemos perversamente'; procedemos perversamente',

Yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land where they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication to you in the land of them that carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;

48 se eles voltarem a ti de todo o coração e com toda a alma na terra dos seus inimigos que os levaram cativos, e rezarem a ti para a terra deles que deste a seus pais, a cidade que escolheste e a casa que construí para o teu nome,

And so return to you with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray to you toward their land, which you gave to their fathers, the city which you have chosen, and the house which I have built for your name:

49 então ouve a oração deles e a súplica deles no céu, tua morada, e mantém a causa deles;

Then hear you their prayer and their supplication in heaven your dwelling place, and maintain their cause,

50 e perdoa teu povo que pecou contra ti, e todas as suas transgressões em que transgrediram contra ti; e dá-lhes compaixão diante daqueles que os levaram cativos, para que tenham compaixão deles

And forgive your people that have sinned against you, and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against you, and give them compassion before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them:

51 (pois eles são teu povo e tua herança, que tiraste do Egito, do meio do forno de ferro);

For they be your people, and your inheritance, which you brought forth out of Egypt, from the middle of the furnace of iron:

52 para que teus olhos estejam abertos à súplica de teu servo e à súplica de teu povo Israel, para escutá-los sempre que clamarem a ti.

That your eyes may be open to the supplication of your servant, and to the supplication of your people Israel, to listen to them in all that they call for to you.

53 para que os separeis de todos os povos da terra para serem vossa herança, como falastes por Moisés vosso servo, quando trouxestes nossos pais para fora do Egito, Senhor Javé”.

For you did separate them from among all the people of the earth, to be your inheritance, as you spoke by the hand of Moses your servant, when you brought our fathers out of Egypt, O LORD God.

54 Foi assim que, quando Salomão terminou de rezar toda esta oração e súplica a Javé, ele se levantou de diante do altar de Javé, de joelhos com as mãos estendidas para o céu.

And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication to the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.

55 Ele se levantou e abençoou toda a assembléia de Israel com uma voz alta, dizendo:

And he stood, and blessed all the congregation of Israel with a loud voice, saying,

56 “Bendito seja Javé, que deu descanso a seu povo Israel, de acordo com tudo o que ele prometeu. Não faltou uma palavra de toda sua boa promessa, que ele prometeu por Moisés, seu servo.

Blessed be the LORD, that has given rest to his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there has not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

57 Que Javé, nosso Deus, esteja conosco como estava com nossos pais. Que ele não nos deixe ou nos abandone,

The LORD our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us:

58 para que ele incline nossos corações para ele, para caminhar em todos os seus caminhos, e para guardar seus mandamentos, seus estatutos e suas ordenanças, que ele ordenou a nossos pais.

That he may incline our hearts to him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers.

59 Que estas minhas palavras, com as quais fiz súplicas diante de Javé, estejam perto de Javé nosso Deus dia e noite, para que ele possa manter a causa de seu servo e a causa de seu povo Israel, como todo dia exige;

And let these my words, with which I have made supplication before the LORD, be near to the LORD our God day and night, that he maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel at all times, as the matter shall require:

60 para que todos os povos da terra saibam que o próprio Javé é Deus. Não há mais ninguém.

That all the people of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and that there is none else.

61 “Que seu coração seja, portanto, perfeito com Javé nosso Deus, para andar em seus estatutos e guardar seus mandamentos, como é hoje”.

Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.

62 O rei, e todo Israel com ele, ofereceram sacrifício diante de Iavé.

And the king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before the LORD.

63 Salomão ofereceu pelo sacrifício de ofertas de paz, que ele ofereceu a Iavé, vinte e duas mil cabeças de gado e cento e vinte mil ovelhas. Assim, o rei e todos os filhos de Israel dedicaram a casa de Iavé.

And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered to the LORD, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the LORD.

64 No mesmo dia o rei tornou sagrado o meio da corte que estava diante da casa de Iavé; pois ali ele ofereceu o holocausto, a oferta de refeição e a gordura das ofertas pacíficas, porque o altar de bronze que estava diante de Iavé era muito pequeno para receber o holocausto, a oferta de refeição e a gordura das ofertas pacíficas.

The same day did the king hallow the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings: because the brazen altar that was before the LORD was too little to receive the burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings.

65 Então Salomão realizou a festa naquela época, e todo Israel com ele, uma grande assembléia, desde a entrada de Hamath até o riacho do Egito, diante de Iavé nosso Deus, sete dias e mais sete dias, mesmo catorze dias.

And at that time Solomon held a feast, and all Israel with him, a great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath to the river of Egypt, before the LORD our God, seven days and seven days, even fourteen days.

66 No oitavo dia ele mandou o povo embora; e eles abençoaram o rei, e foram para suas tendas alegres e alegres em seus corações por toda a bondade que Javé havia mostrado a Davi, seu servo, e a Israel, seu povo.

On the eighth day he sent the people away: and they blessed the king, and went to their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the LORD had done for David his servant, and for Israel his people.
