1 Reis 22
1 Eles continuaram três anos sem guerra entre a Síria e Israel.
And they continued three years without war between Aram and Israel.
2 No terceiro ano, Jeosafá, o rei de Judá, desceu para o rei de Israel.
And it came to pass in the third year, that Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came down to the king of Israel.
3 O rei de Israel disse a seus servos: “Vocês sabem que Ramoth Gilead é nosso, e nós não fazemos nada, e não o tiramos da mão do rei da Síria”...”
And the king of Israel said unto his servants: 'Know ye that Ramoth-gilead is ours, and we are still, and take it not out of the hand of the king of Aram?'
4 Ele disse a Jehoshaphat: “Você irá comigo para a batalha contra Ramoth Gilead?” Jehoshaphat disse ao rei de Israel: “Eu sou como você é, meu povo como seu povo, meus cavalos como seus cavalos”.
And he said unto Jehoshaphat: 'Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramoth-gilead?' And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel: 'I am as thou art, my people as thy people, my horses as thy horses.'
5 Jehoshaphat disse ao rei de Israel: “Por favor, pergunte primeiro pela palavra de Yahweh”.
And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel: 'Inquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD today.'
6 Então o rei de Israel reuniu os profetas, cerca de quatrocentos homens, e disse-lhes: “Devo ir contra Ramoth Gilead para a batalha, ou devo me abster? Eles disseram: “Sobe, porque o Senhor o entregará nas mãos do rei”.
Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them: 'Shall I go against Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear?' And they said: 'Go up; for the LORD will deliver it into the hand of the king.'
7 Mas Jehoshaphat disse: “Não há aqui um profeta de Yahweh, que possamos inquirir dele?”
But Jehoshaphat said: 'Is there not here besides a prophet of the LORD, that we might inquire of him?'
8 O rei de Israel disse a Jeosafá: “Ainda há um homem por quem podemos perguntar a Javé, Micaías, filho de Ilá; mas eu o odeio, pois ele não profetiza o bem a meu respeito, mas o mal”. Jehoshaphat disse: “Não deixe o rei dizer isso”.
And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat: 'There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of the LORD, Micaiah the son of Imlah; but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil.' And Jehoshaphat said: 'Let not the king say so.'
9 Então o rei de Israel chamou um oficial e disse: “Rapidamente pegue Micaías, o filho de Alá”.
Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said: 'Fetch quickly Micaiah the son of Imlah.'
10 Now o rei de Israel e Jeosafá o rei de Judá estavam sentados cada um em seu trono, vestidos com suas vestes, em um lugar aberto na entrada do portão de Samaria; e todos os profetas profetizavam diante deles.
Now the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah sat each on his throne, arrayed in their robes, in a threshing-floor, at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.
11 Zedequias, filho de Chenaaná, fez-se chifres de ferro, e disse: “Javé diz: 'Com estes empurrarás os sírios, até que sejam consumidos'”.
And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron, and said: 'Thus saith the LORD: With these shalt thou gore the Arameans, until they be consumed.'
12 Todos os profetas profetizaram assim, dizendo: “Subam a Ramoth Gilead e prosperem; pois Javé o entregará nas mãos do rei”.
And all the prophets prophesied so, saying: 'Go up to Ramoth-gilead, and prosper; for the LORD will deliver it into the hand of the king.'
13 O mensageiro que foi chamar Micaías falou com ele, dizendo: “Veja agora, os profetas declaram o bem ao rei com uma só boca”. Que sua palavra seja como a palavra de um deles, e fale bem”.
And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spoke unto him, saying: 'Behold now, the words of the prophets declare good unto the king with one mouth, let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them, and speak thou good.'
14 Micaiah disse: “Como Yahweh vive, o que Yahweh me diz, que eu vou falar”.
And Micaiah said: 'As the LORD liveth, what the LORD saith unto me, that will I speak.'
15 Quando ele chegou ao rei, o rei lhe disse: “Micaías, vamos a Ramoth Gilead para a batalha, ou devemos abster-nos de lutar? Ele lhe respondeu: “Suba e prospere; e Yahweh o entregará nas mãos do rei”.
And when he was come to the king, the king said unto him: 'Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall we forbear?' And he answered him: 'Go up, and prosper; and the LORD will deliver it into the hand of the king.'
16 O rei lhe disse: “Quantas vezes tenho de contíguo que você não me fala nada além da verdade em nome de Iavé?”
And the king said unto him: 'How many times shall I adjure thee that thou speak unto me nothing but the truth in the name of the LORD?'
17 Ele disse: “Eu vi todo Israel espalhado pelas montanhas, como ovelhas que não têm pastor”. Yahweh disse: “Estas não têm dono”. Que cada um deles volte para sua casa em paz”.
And he said: 'I saw all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd; and the LORD said: These have no master; let them return every man to his house in peace.'
18 O rei de Israel disse a Jehoshaphat: “Eu não te disse que ele não profetizaria o bem a meu respeito, mas o mal?
And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat: 'Did I not tell thee that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?'
19 Micaiah disse: “Portanto, ouçam a palavra de Javé. Vi Iavé sentado em seu trono, e todo o exército do céu ao seu lado, à sua direita e à sua esquerda.
And he said: 'Therefore hear thou the word of the LORD. I saw the LORD sitting on His throne, and all the host of heaven standing by Him on His right hand and on his left.
20 Yahweh disse: “Quem vai atrair Ahab, para que ele possa subir e cair em Ramoth Gilead? Um disse uma coisa, e outro disse outra.
And the LORD said: Who shall entice Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead. And one said: On this manner; and another said: On that manner.
21 Um espírito saiu e se apresentou diante de Iavé, e disse: “Eu o seduzirei”.
And there came forth the spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said: I will entice him.
22 Yahweh disse a ele, “Como? Ele disse: “Vou sair e serei um espírito mentiroso na boca de todos os seus profetas”. Ele disse: “Você o seduzirá e também prevalecerá”. Saia e faça isso”.
And the LORD said unto him: Wherewith? And he said: I will go forth, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And He said: Thou shalt entice him, and shalt prevail also; go forth, and do so.
23 Agora, portanto, eis que Javé pôs um espírito mentiroso na boca de todos estes vossos profetas; e Javé falou mal de vós”.
Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets; and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.'
24 Então Zedequias, filho de Chenaaná, aproximou-se e bateu na bochecha de Micaías, e disse: “Para que lado o Espírito de Javé foi de mim para falar com você?
Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and smote Micaiah on the check, and said: 'Which way went the spirit of the LORD from me to speak unto thee?'
25 Micaiah disse: “Eis que você verá naquele dia quando entrar em uma sala interior para se esconder”.
And Micaiah said: 'Behold, thou shalt see on that day, when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.'
26 O rei de Israel disse: “Pegue Micaías e leve-o de volta para Amon, o governador da cidade, e para Joás, o filho do rei”.
And the king of Israel said: 'Take Micaiah, and carry him back unto Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son;
27 Diz: “O rei diz: “Ponham este homem na prisão e alimentem-no com pão de aflição e com água de aflição, até que eu venha em paz””.
and say: Thus saith the king: Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with scant bread and with scant water, until I come in peace.'
28 Micaiah disse: “Se você retornar em paz, Yahweh não falou por mim”. Ele disse: “Ouçam, todos vocês!”
And Micaiah said: 'If thou return at all in peace, the LORD hath not spoken by me.' And he said: 'Hear, ye peoples, all of you.'
29 Então o rei de Israel e Jeosafá, o rei de Judá, subiram para Ramoth Gilead.
So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth-gilead.
30 O rei de Israel disse a Jeosafá: “Eu me disfarçarei e irei para a batalha, mas vocês vestirão suas vestes”. O rei de Israel se disfarçou e foi para a batalha.
And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat: 'I will disguise myself, and go into the battle; but put thou on thy robes.' And the king of Israel disguised himself, and went into the battle.
31 Agora o rei da Síria havia comandado os trinta e dois capitães de suas carruagens, dizendo: “Não lute com pequenos ou grandes, exceto apenas com o rei de Israel”.
Now the king of Aram had commanded the thirty and two captains of his chariots, saying: 'Fight neither with small nor great, save only with the king of Israel.'
32 Quando os capitães das carruagens viram Jehoshaphat, disseram: “Certamente este é o rei de Israel!” e vieram para lutar contra ele. Jehoshaphat gritou.
And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said: 'Surely it is the king of Israel'; and they turned aside to fight against him; and Jehoshaphat cried out.
33 Quando os capitães das carruagens viram que não era o rei de Israel, voltaram atrás, deixando de persegui-lo.
And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him.
34 Um certo homem desenhou seu arco ao acaso, e atingiu o rei de Israel entre as articulações da armadura. Por isso ele disse ao motorista de sua carruagem: “Vire-se e leve-me para fora da batalha, pois estou gravemente ferido”.
And a certain man drew his bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the lower armour and the breastplate; wherefore he said unto the driver of his chariot: 'Turn thy hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am sore wounded.'
35 A batalha aumentou naquele dia. O rei foi apoiado em sua carruagem de frente para os sírios, e morreu à noite. O sangue escorreu da ferida para o fundo da carruagem.
And the battle increased that day; and the king was stayed up in his chariot against the Arameans, and died at even; and the blood ran out of the wound into the bottom of the chariot.
36 Um grito correu por todo o exército sobre o pôr do sol, dizendo: “Cada homem para sua cidade, e cada homem para seu país!
And there went a cry throughout the host about the going down of the sun, saying: 'Every man to his city, and every man to his country.'
37 Então o rei morreu, e foi trazido para Samaria; e eles enterraram o rei em Samaria.
So the king died, and was brought to Samaria; and they buried the king in Samaria.
38 Lavaram a carruagem junto à piscina de Samaria; e os cães lamberam seu sangue onde as prostitutas se lavaram, de acordo com a palavra de Yahweh que ele falou.
And they washed the chariot by the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood; the harlots also washed themselves there; according unto the word of the LORD which He spoke.
39 Agora o resto dos atos de Ahab, e tudo o que ele fez, e a casa de marfim que ele construiu, e todas as cidades que ele construiu, não estão escritos no livro das crônicas dos reis de Israel?
Now the rest of the acts of Ahab, and all that he did, and the ivory house which he built, and all the cities that he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
40 So Acabe dormiu com seus pais; e Acazias, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
So Ahab slept with his fathers; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.
41 Jehoshaphat, filho de Asa, começou a reinar sobre Judá no quarto ano de Acabe, rei de Israel.
And Jehoshaphat the son of Asa began to reign over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel.
42 Jehosafá tinha trinta e cinco anos quando começou a reinar; e reinou vinte e cinco anos em Jerusalém. O nome de sua mãe era Azuba, filha de Shilhi.
Jehoshaphat was thirty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
43 Ele andou por todo o caminho de Asa, seu pai. Ele não se desviou dele, fazendo o que estava certo aos olhos de Iavé. Entretanto, os lugares altos não foram tirados. O povo ainda sacrificava e queimava incenso nos lugares altos.
And he walked in all the way of Asa his father; he turned not aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of the LORD; howbeit the high places were not taken away; the people still sacrificed and offered in the high places.
44 Jehoshaphat fez a paz com o rei de Israel.
And Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel.
45 Now o resto dos atos de Jehoshaphat, e sua força que ele mostrou, e como ele lutou, não estão escritos no livro das crônicas dos reis de Judá?
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, and his might that he showed, and how he warred, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
46 O remanescente dos sodomitas, que permaneceu nos dias de seu pai Asa, ele expulsou da terra.
And the remnant of the sodomites that remained in the days of his father Asa, he put away out of the land.
47 Não havia rei em Edom. Um deputado governou.
And there was no king in Edom: a deputy was king.
48 Jehoshaphat fez navios de Tarshish para ir a Ophir em busca de ouro, mas eles não foram, pois os navios naufragaram em Ezion Geber.
Jehoshaphat made ships of Tarshish to go to Ophir for gold; but they went not; for the ships were broken at Ezion-geber.
49 Então Acazias, filho de Acabe, disse a Jehoshaphat: “Deixem meus servos irem com seus servos nos navios”. Mas Jehoshaphat não o faria.
Then said Ahaziah the son of Ahab unto Jehoshaphat: 'Let my servants go with thy servants in the ships.' But Jehoshaphat would not.
50 Jehoshaphat dormiu com seus pais, e foi enterrado com seus pais na cidade de seu pai David. Jehoram, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
And Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father; and Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.
51 Ahaziah o filho de Acabe começou a reinar sobre Israel em Samaria no décimo sétimo ano de Jeosafá, rei de Judá, e reinou dois anos sobre Israel.
Ahaziah the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria in the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and he reigned two years over Israel.
52 Ele fez o que era mau aos olhos de Javé, e caminhou no caminho de seu pai, e no caminho de sua mãe, e no caminho de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, no qual ele fez Israel pecar.
And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, wherein he made Israel to sin.
53 Ele serviu a Baal e o adorou, e provocou Javé, o Deus de Israel, à ira de todas as maneiras que seu pai havia feito.
And he served Baal, and worshipped him, and provoked the LORD, the God of Israel, according to all that his father had done.
