Tiago 1
1 [Eu], Tiago, sirvo a Deus e ao Senhor Jesus Cristo. [Estou escrevendo esta carta ]aos Judeus [que confiam no Senhor Jesus Cristo ](OU, a todo o povo de Deus) e que estão espalhados por todo o mundo. [Eu envio minhas ]saudações [a vocês].
[I], James, am a servant of God and the Lord Jesus Christ. [I am writing this letter] to [all] the Jewish people [who trust in Christ] (OR, to all God’s people) who are scattered throughout the world. [I send my] greetings to [you all].
2 Meus companheiros cristãos, apenas alegrem-se, [mesmo ]quando vocês enfrentam vários tipos de dificuldades.
My fellow believers, rejoice greatly, [even] when you experience various kinds of difficulties/troubles.
3 [Vocês precisam], mais e mais, se dar conta de que [sempre que Deus permitir que vocês experimentem dificuldades, para ]testar se vocês continuam ou não confiando [nele, se vocês continuarem a confiar em Deus ]vocês poderão suportar as dificuldades com coragem.
[God sometimes allows you to experience difficulties in order to] test whether or not you will continue to trust [him. Whenever that happens, you need to] realize more and more that [if you continue to trust him], you will be able to bravely/patiently endure difficulties.
4 E continuem suportando as dificuldades com coragem[, confiando Nele cada vez com mais firmeza ][PRS], para que vocês se tornem tudo o que Deus pretende que vocês sejam [DOU] (OU, [espiritualmente ]maduros e completos), não havendo em vocês a falta de nenhuma boa qualidade.
Keep on enduring difficulties [bravely/patiently by trusting God more and more firmly] [PRS], in order that you may become all that he intends you to be [DOU] (OR, [spiritually] mature and complete), not lacking (any [good quality/anything you need to conduct your lives as God wants you to]).
5 Se qualquer um de vocês não sabe como agir com sabedoria [para suportar bem as dificuldades], este deve perguntar a Deus [o que deve fazer, pois ]Deus ajuda, de todo o coração, a todos [os que pedem], e Ele não repreende a ninguém por [perguntar. Se alguém perguntar, ]Deus o ajudará a saber [o que deve fazer. ]
If anyone of you does not know how to act wisely [in order to endure difficulties/trials well], he should ask God [to show him what he should do, because] God wholeheartedly/gladly helps all people [who ask] and does not scold [anyone for asking. Those who ask], God will give them wisdom to know [what they should do].
6 Mas [quando vocês ]perguntam [a Deus, ]vocês devem confiar firmemente [Nele]. Vocês não devem duvidar [que Deus quer sempre ajudá-los, ]pois os que continuam duvidando de Deus são [instáveis ][SIM] como uma onda do mar, que é soprada para cá e para lá pelo vento {que vai e vem quando o vento sopra} [DOU, SIM].
But [when you] ask [God], you should firmly trust him. You should not doubt [that he wants to help you always], because people who keep doubting God are [unstable/changeable] [SIM] like a wave of the sea that is blown back and forth by the wind {that goes back and forth when the wind blows} [DOU, SIM].
7 Com certeza, os [que duvidam ]não devem pensar que o Senhor fará qualquer coisa [que eles têm pedido a Deus, ]
Indeed, people [who doubt] should not think that the Lord [God] will do anything [that they request him to do],
8 [pois eles são ]pessoas que não conseguem decidir [se vão se dedicar a Deus para fazer a vontade Dele ou não, e eles são ]instáveis em tudo o que fazem.
[because they are] people who cannot decide [whether they will commit themselves to God, and they are] unstable/undecided in everything that they do.
9 Os cristãos que são pobres/humildes devem ficar felizes [porque Deus ]os considera muito valiosos (OU, porque os exaltou espiritualmente) [MTY].
Believers who are poor should be happy [that God] considers them very valuable (OR, has exalted them [spiritually]) [MTY].
10 E os cristãos que são ricos devem ficar felizes [porque ]eles se humilham [para confiar em Jesus Cristo ](OU, mas o rico [só pode ]ter orgulho do [fato de que Deus ]o humilhará [quando Ele julgar a todos ][IRO]), pois eles [e suas riquezas ][MTY] passarão, assim como uma flor do campo [murcha ][SIM].
And [believers] who are rich should be happy [that] they have humbled themselves [in order to trust in Jesus Christ] (OR, but rich people [can only] take pride [in the fact that God] will humble them [when he judges everyone] [IRO]), because they [and their riches] [MTY] will pass away, just like wild flowers [wither] [SIM].
11 Quando o sol nasce, o calor intenso/vento seca as plantas, as flores caem e não mais são belas. Será da mesma maneira com os ricos, eles morrerão [MET] enquanto estiverem engajados no trabalho, [deixando para trás as suas riquezas.]
When the sun rises, the scorching hot wind dries plants, and their flowers fall and are no longer beautiful. Similarly, rich people will die [MET] while they are busy working, [leaving behind their riches].
12 Deus abençoa as pessoas que suportam dificuldades com coragem. Por assim fazer Deus permitirá, quando eles provarem [que verdadeiramente confiam Nele, ]que eles vivam [eternamente, ]o que será a recompensa deles [MET]. Ele prometeu essa [recompensa ]àqueles que O amam.
[God] is pleased with people who bravely/patiently endure difficulties. And when, [by bravely enduring difficulties], they have proved [that they truly trust him], he will give them [eternal] life. That is the reward [MET] that he has promised to give to those who love him.
13 Se alguém quer fazer o mal, tal pessoa não deve pensar que está sendo tentada por Deus {que Deus a está tentando} [para fazer o mal], pois nada, absolutamente nada, poderá tentar a Deus para fazer qualquer mal. [Ele é totalmente bom ]e Ele mesmo nunca tenta a ninguém par[a fazer o mal].
If people are tempted to do something that is evil, they should not think that it is God who is tempting them, because [God is totally/completely good]. He never tempts anyone [to do what is evil], nor can he ever be tempted to [do anything] evil.
14 Mas [porque ]cada um deseja fortemente fazer o mal [PRS], [o resultado é que ]essa pessoa é estimulada, por tais desejos {estes desejos a estimulam}, a fazer o mal [PRS, DOU].
But people strongly desire to do evil [PRS] things, [and as a result] they are tempted by those desires {those desires stimulate them} to do something evil [PRS, DOU].
15 Então, [porque ]ela desejou [MET] fazer o mal [PRS], ela vai em frente [MET] e faz o mal [PRS]. E quando ela se torna alguém que habitualmente faz o mal [MET], [se tal pessoa não abandonar seu comportamento pecaminoso, ]ela ficará separada de Deus eternamente.
Then, [because] they have desired [MET] to do evil [PRS] things, they begin to [MET] do [PRS] them. And when they have become ones who [habitually] do what is evil [MET], [if they do not turn away from their sinful behavior], they will be separated from God forever.
16 Meus companheiros cristãos, a quem eu amo, parem de ser enganados {deixando os outros lhes enganarem} [ao pensar que Deus faz o mal. ]
My fellow believers whom I love, stop deceiving yourselves, [thinking that God does evil things].
17 [A verdade é que ]Deus, o nosso Pai celeste [MTY], só faz o bem [DOU] [para nós, para que nos tornemos ]tudo o que Ele quer que sejamos. Ele criou todas as luzes [no céu. Elas mudam; isto é, elas não reluzem igualmente o tempo todo. ]Mas Deus nunca muda. [Ele é sempre bom. ]
[The truth is that God], our heavenly Father [MTY], does only good [DOU] things [for us, in order to help us become] all that he intends us to be. He is not like all the things [in the sky] that he created to give light, [because they] change; [that is, they do not shine the same all the time]. But God never changes. [He is always good].
18 [Porque ]Ele quis [nos ajudar], Ele fez com que vivêssemos [espiritualmente ][MET], como resultado de nossa [confiança na Sua ]verdadeira mensagem. O resultado disso é que nos tornamos os primeiros, dentre [todas as pessoas ][MET] que Ele criou, [a sermos totalmente dedicados a Ele.]
[And because] he wanted [to help us], he gave us [spiritual] life as a result of our [trusting in his] true message. So now we have become the first ones of [all the people] [MET] that he created [to] ([be totally dedicated to/completely belong to]) [him].
19 Meus companheiros cristãos, a quem eu amo, vocês sabem (OU, quero que vocês saibam) que cada um de vocês deve prestar atenção com avidez à [mensagem verdadeira de Deus], e não deve falar os [seus próprios pensamentos ]sem antes refletir, nem ficar com raiva precipitadamente,
My fellow believers whom I love, you know (OR, I want you to now) that every one of you should be eager to pay attention to [God’s true message]. Don’t speak [without thinking], nor get angry easily,
20 pois sempre que qualquer um de [vocês ]ficar com raiva, não estará fazendo as coisas retas que Deus quer que ele faça.
because when any one [of you gets] angry, you will not be doing the righteous things that God [wants] you [to do].
21 Por isso, parem de fazer todo tipo de mal [DOU] e aceitem humildemente (OU, se submetam a) a mensagem que [Deus os levou a conhecer, pois ]Ele tem poder para salvá-los [SYN], [se vocês aceitarem a Sua mensagem. ]
So stop doing all kinds of evil [DOU] things, and humbly obey (OR, submit to) the message that [God] put in your (inner beings/hearts), [because] he is able to save you [SYN] [if you accept his message].
22 Façam [o que Deus manda em ]Sua mensagem. Não a escutem apenas, [sem obedecer, pois ]os que simplesmente a escutam pensam, equivocadamente, [que Deus os salvará].
Do [what God commands in] his message. Do not only listen [to it, because people who only listen to it and do not obey it] are wrong when they think [that God will save them].
23 Se alguém escuta a mensagem de Deus, mas não faz o que ela diz, tal pessoa é [MET] simplesmente como alguém que apenas contempla o seu rosto num espelho [SIM].
Some people hear God’s message but do not do [what it says] [MET]. They are like someone who looks at his face in a mirror [SIM].
24 Mesmo que ela se olhe, ela sai [da frente do espelho ]e imediatamente esquece sua aparência.
Although he looks at himself, he goes away [from the mirror] and immediately forgets what he looks like.
25 Mas, ao [contrário da pessoa que só escuta, ]se aqueles que olham minuciosamente a mensagem de Deus - que é perfeita/completa e que os liberta para [voluntariamente fazer o que Deus quer que façam - ]se eles continuarem [a examinar a mensagem de Deus ]e não simplesmente a escutarem e depois se esquecerem, mas fizerem [o que Deus diz que devem fazer], Deus os abençoará por aquilo que eles fazem.
But other people look closely at [God’s] message, which is perfect and which sets people free [to voluntarily do what God wants them to do]. And if they continue [to examine God’s message] and do not just hear it and then forget it, but do [what God tells them to do], God will bless them because of what they do.
26 Alguns pensam que adoram a Deus corretamente, mas eles habitualmente falam com maldade [MTY]. Estas pessoas na verdade pensam equivocadamente [SYN] [que elas adoram a Deus de forma correta. Elas ]adoram a Deus em vão.
Some people think that they worship God in the right way, but they habitually say evil things [MTY]. Those people are wrong in thinking [SYN] [that they worship God rightly]. The fact is [that they] worship God (in vain/uselessly).
27 Uma das coisas que Deus nos diz que devemos fazer é cuidar dos órfãos e das viúvas que passam dificuldades. Qualquer um que faz isso e que não pensa ou age de forma imoral, como aqueles que não obedecem a Deus [MTY], este verdadeiramente adora a Deus, [que é o nosso ]Pai, e Deus o aprova.
[One of the things that God has told us to do] is to take care of orphans and widows who suffer hardship. [Those who do that and] who do not think or act immorally like those who do not obey God [MTY] truly [DOU] worship God, [who is our] Father, and God approves of them.
