Hebreus 9
1 [Continuando: ]Na primeira [aliança, Deus ]regulava como as pessoas [deviam realizar ]os rituais e [ele instituiu ]um santuário feito por seres humanos [MTY].
[To continue]: In the first [covenant, God] regulated how people [should perform] rituals, and [he told them to make] [MTY] a sanctuary.
2 [Aquele santuário ]foi uma tenda que [os israelitas ]montavam. Na sua divisão exterior havia o candelabro e a mesa [em cima da qual eles colocavam ]o pão que os [sacerdotes ]apresentavam [a Deus. Aquele salão ]se chamava “o lugar santo”.
[That sanctuary] was a tent that [the Israelites] set up. In its outer room there was the lampstand and the table [on which they put] the bread that [the priests] presented [to God. That room] was called ‘the holy place’.
3 Detrás da cortina, dentro do [lugar santo], havia outro salão, que se chamava “o lugar santíssimo”.
Behind the curtain inside [the holy place] there was [another] room. That was called ‘the very holy place’.
4 Continha um altar, [feito de ]ouro, [para queimar ]incenso. [Continha também um baú que se chamava ]a arca da aliança. Todos os lados dessa arca estavam cobertos de ouro. Dentro dela ficava a vasilha de ouro que continha [pedaços da comida chamada ]maná. [Essa foi a comida com que Deus alimentava milagrosamente o povo antes da entrada dos israelitas na terra prometida. ]Dentro da arca ficava também o bastão de Arão que florescia [para provar que ele era o verdadeiro sacerdote de Deus. ]A arca continha também as tábuas de pedra [nas quais Deus tinha escrito ]os Dez Mandamentos.
It had an altar, [made from] gold, [for burning] incense. [It also had the chest which they called] the chest of the covenant. All its sides were covered with gold. In it was the golden pot which contained [pieces of the food they called] manna. [That was the food with which God miraculously fed the people before they entered the promised land]. In the chest there was also Aaron’s walking stick that budded [to prove that he was God’s true priest]. In the chest were also the stone tablets [on which God had written] the Ten Commandments.
5 Em cima [da arca ]havia [figuras ]de seres alados [que simbolizavam ]a glória [de Deus]. As [asas ]deles sombreavam a tampa da arca onde [o sumo sacerdote borrifava o sangue ]para [expiar/perdoar aqueles que tinham pecado.]Não [preciso ]escrever detalhadamente sobre estas coisas agora.
On top of [the chest] were [figures of] winged creatures [that symbolized God’s] glory. Their [wings] overshadowed the chest’s lid where [the high priest sprinkled the blood] (to [atone for/to forgive]) [those who had sinned. I] do not [need] to write about these things in detail now.
6 Preparadas todas essas coisas {Depois que tinham preparado dessa forma todas as referidas coisas} [nas duas divisões da tenda, ]os sacerdotes [judaicos ]costumavam entrar na [sala ]externa [da ]tenda para executar seus rituais.
After all those things were prepared {After they had prepared all those things like that} [in the two rooms of the tent], the [Jewish] priests habitually went into the outer [room of the] tent to perform their rituals.
7 Mas na sala interna só [entrava ]o sumo sacerdote, uma vez por ano. Ele sempre levava consigo [LIT] o sangue [dos animais que tinham sacrificado. ]Ele os oferecia [a Deus ]por seus próprios [pecados ]e pelos pecados cometidos pelas demais pessoas, inclusive os pecados que eles tinham cometido sem saber [que eram pecaminosos. ]
But into the inner room, only the Supreme Priest [went], once a year. He always took [LIT] the blood [of animals that they had slaughtered]. He offered them [to God] for his own [sins] and for the sins that other people had committed. They included sins that they did not realize [were sinful].
8 Por meio dessas coisas o Espírito Santo dava a entender que, [bem como Deus ]não revelou a maneira [de as pessoas comuns ]entrarem na sala interna enquanto ainda existia a sala externa [MET], [assim também ele não revelou a maneira de as pessoas comuns entrarem na presença de Deus enquanto ainda estava em vigor o sistema judaico das ofertas de sacrifícios.]
By those things the Holy Spirit indicated that [just like God] did not reveal the way [for ordinary people] to enter into the inner room while the outer room still existed [MET], [similarly he did not reveal the way for ordinary people to enter the presence of God while the Jewish system of offering sacrifices was in effect].
9 [As atividades que os sacerdotes desempenhavam dentro da sala externa ][MTY] simbolizavam [aquilo que era verdade ]durante a época [de vigência da primeira aliança. ]De acordo com a [primeira aliança ](OU, [naquela sala externa), os sacerdotes ]ofereciam presentes e outros sacrifícios a Deus. Mas [por tais ofertas, ]as pessoas que as traziam continuavam incapazes de sentir-se livres da culpa de terem pecado.
[The things that the priests did inside the outer room] [MTY] symbolized [what was true] during the time [when the first covenant was in effect]. According to [the first covenant] (OR, [In that outer room]), [priests] offered gifts and other sacrifices to God. But [by offering them], the people who brought them were unable to make themselves feel that they were no longer guilty for having sinned.
10 [Elas ofertavam aqueles presentes e faziam aqueles sacrifícios ]somente de acordo com os [regulamentos relativos ]às comidas e bebidas e [os regulamentos que exigiam que as pessoas lavassem ]diversas coisas. [Deus ]declarou que esses regulamentos sobre nossos corpos vigorariam até [ele pôr em vigor a nova aliança; ]esta aliança seria um sistema superior.
[They brought those gifts and made those sacrifices] according to [regulations concerning] things to eat and drink, and [according to rules that required people to] wash various things. [God] declared that those regulations about our bodies were to be in effect until [he put into effect the new covenant]; that was a better system.
11 Mas quando Cristo veio como nosso sumo sacerdote, [ele trouxe ]as boas coisas que atualmente são acessíveis. Quando ele apareceu, [entrou na presença de Deus no céu. É como uma ][MET] tenda bem grande e absolutamente perfeita que não foi feita por seres humanos {que nenhum ser humano fez} [SYN]; quer dizer, não é parte do mundo que [Deus ]criou. Foi superior [à tenda que Moisés montou aqui na terra. ]
But when Christ came as our Supreme Priest, [he brought] the good things that are now available. When he appeared, [he went into God’s presence in heaven. That is like a] [MET] very great and perfect tent not made by humans {which no human made} [SYN]; that is, it is not part of the world [God] created. It was better [than the tent Moses set up here on earth].
12 [Quando um sumo sacerdote entra anualmente na sala interna da tenda, ele leva consigo ]o sangue de bodes e o sangue de bezerros [para oferecer como sacrifício.] Mas Cristo não [procedeu assim. Foi como se ]ele entrasse naquele lugar santíssimo uma só vez, levando consigo seu próprio sangue. Por esse ato, ele nos redimiu eternamente. (aiōnios g166)
[When a Supreme Priest goes into the inner room in the tent each year, he takes] goats’ blood and calves’ blood [to offer as a sacrifice]. But Christ did not [do that. It was as though] he went into that very holy place only once, taking his own blood with him. By doing that, he eternally redeemed us. (aiōnios g166)
13 Os sacerdotes borrifam nas pessoas o sangue de bodes, o sangue de touros e [a água filtrada pelas cinzas de uma bezerra ]vermelha [totalmente queimada. Efetuando esse ritual, eles conseguem ]limpar [ritualmente ]os corpos daqueles que estão [ceremonialmente ]impuros. Além disso, esses rituais capacitavam as pessoas a terem novamente a comunhão com Deus.
The priests sprinkle on people goats’ blood and bulls’ blood and [the water that has been filtered through] the ashes of a [red] heifer that has been [completely burned. By performing that ritual, they can ritually] cleanse the bodies of those who are [ceremonially] unclean. Furthermore, performing those rituals enabled people to have fellowship with God again.
14 [Portanto, por sabermos o que Cristo conseguiu realizar ]ao derramar seu sangue [quando morreu por nós ][PRS, MTY], teremos absoluta certeza de não sermos culpados [de ter ]feito as coisas que praticam [aqueles que estão espiritualmente ]mortos. [Como consequência], podemos servir ao Deus todo-poderoso. [Os sacerdotes oferecem sempre a Deus animais ]sem defeito. De maneira semelhante, quando Cristo se ofereceu [como sacrifício ]a Deus, ele não tinha nenhum pecado [MET]. Ele procedeu assim como resultado de [ser auxiliado pelo ]Espírito eterno [de Deus.] (aiōnios g166)
[So, because we know what] Christ [accomplished when] his blood flowed [when he died for us] [PRS, MTY], we will be very certain that we are not guilty [of having] done those things [that those who are spiritually] dead do. [As a result], we can serve God, who is all-powerful. [The priests always offer to God animals] with no defects. Similarly, when Christ offered himself [as a sacrifice] to God, he was sinless [MET]. He did that as a result of [God’s] eternal Spirit [helping him]. (aiōnios g166)
15 Ao morrer por nós, Cristo—redimiu/livrou do castigo dos seus pecados—até aqueles que tinham desobedecido as condições da (OU: durante a época da) primeira aliança. Portanto, já que ninguém conseguiu se aperfeiçoar pela obediência à antiga aliança, Cristo estabelece agora uma nova aliança entre Deus e o povo. Ele faz isso para que aqueles que Deus escolheu possam ter eternamente as bênçãos que Deus lhes prometeu. (aiōnios g166)
[By] dying [for us], [Christ] ([redeemed/] free from the penalty for their sins) even those who disobeyed the [conditions of] (OR, [during the time of]) the first covenant. So, [because] no [one could be made perfect by obeying the old covenant], now Christ establishes [between God and people] a new covenant. He does that in order that those whom God has chosen may eternally have [the blessings that God] has promised them. (aiōnios g166)
16 Uma aliança é como um testamento. No caso de um testamento, para que entrem em vigor suas provisões, é preciso provar que aquele que fez o testamento já morreu.
A covenant [is like a will. In the case of a will], [in order to put its provisions into effect], someone must prove that the one who made it has died.
17 Um testamento entra em vigor só quando morre aquele que fez o testamento; fica sem efeito enquanto aquele que o fez está vivo.
A will goes into effect [only when the one who makes the will] has died. It is not in effect when the one who made it is still alive.
18 E por isso Deus pôs em vigor a primeira aliança somente [LIT] por meio do sangue dos animais que se derramava quando eles eram sacrificados.
And so [God] put the first covenant into effect only [LIT] by means of [animals’] blood that was shed [when they were slaughtered].
19 Depois que Moisés declarou a todos os israelitas tudo que Deus tinha mandado nas leis que Deus lhe deu, ele pegou o sangue de bezerros e bodes, misturado com água. Ele molhou nessa mistura lã escarlate amarrado a um ramo de hissopo. Depois borrifou uma parte da mistura de sangue no rolo que continha as leis de Deus. Em seguida ele borrifou mais daquele sangue no povo inteiro,
After Moses had declared to all the Israelites everything that God commanded in the laws [that God gave him], he took calves’ and goats’ blood [mixed] with water. He [dipped into it] scarlet wool [that he tied around] a sprig of hyssop. Then he sprinkled [with some of the blood] the scroll itself containing God’s laws. Then he sprinkled [more of that blood on all the] people,
20 proclamando: “Este é o sangue que põe em efeito a aliança que Deus mandou que vocês obedeçam”.
saying to them, “This is the blood [which brings into effect] the covenant that God commanded that you [obey].”
21 Semelhantemente, ele borrifou aquele sangue sobre a tenda e sobre cada objeto usado nos rituais.
Likewise, he sprinkled with that blood the tent and every object that they used in performing rituals.
22 Era através de borrifar o sangue que eles limpavam ritualmente quase tudo. Foi isso que foi declarado nas leis de Deus. Se não for derramado sangue quando as pessoas oferecem um sacrifício, Deus não pode perdoar a pessoa que faz o sacrifício.
It was by [sprinkling] blood that they [ritually] cleansed almost everything. That was what [was stated in] God’s laws. If blood is not shed [when people offer a sacrifice, God] cannot forgive [the person who is making the sacrifice].
23 Portanto, por rituais desse tipo, foi preciso que [os sacerdotes ]limpassem as coisas que simbolizavam aquilo que Cristo faz [MTY] no céu. Mas Deus tem que [consagrar as pessoas que entrarão ][MTY] no céu [por meio de ]sacrifícios superiores àqueles.
So, by rituals like that, it was necessary for [the priests] to cleanse the things that symbolized what Christ does [MTY] in heaven. But God has to [consecrate] the [people who will enter] [MTY] heaven [by means of] better sacrifices than those.
24 Cristo não entrou num santuário feito por seres humanos. Tal santuário apenas representava o [santuário ]verdadeiro. Em vez disso, Cristo entrou no próprio céu, para se apresentar agora na presença de Deus [para interceder ]com Deus em nosso [favor/representar-nos].
Christ did not enter a sanctuary that humans made. That one only represented the true [sanctuary]. Instead, he entered heaven itself, in order to now be in God’s presence [to plead with] God for us.
25 O sumo sacerdote [judaico ]entra uma vez ao ano no lugar santíssimo, levando consigo sangue que não é dele mesmo, [para o oferecer como sacrifício. ]Mas quando Cristo entrou no céu, não foi para se oferecer repetidamente dessa forma.
The [Jewish] Supreme Priest enters the very holy place once every year, taking blood that is not his own, [to offer it as a sacrifice]. But when Christ entered heaven, it was not in order to offer himself repeatedly like that.
26 [Se fosse assim], ele deveria ter sofrido [e derramado seu sangue ]repetidas vezes desde [a época quando Deus ]criou o mundo. Mas em vez disso, nesta época final, [Cristo ]apareceu uma vez para que, por se sacrificar, ele pudesse fazer [com que as pessoas ]já não sejam [culpadas dos seus ]pecados. (aiōn g165)
[If that were so], he would have needed to suffer [and shed his blood] repeatedly since [the time when God] created the world. But instead, in this final age, [Christ] has appeared once in order that by sacrificing himself he could cause [that people] no longer will be [punished for their] sins. (aiōn g165)
27 Todos os seres humanos têm que morrer uma vez, e depois disso [Deus ]vai julgá-los [por seus pecados. ]
All people must die once, and after that [God] will judge them [for their sins].
28 De forma semelhante, quando Cristo [morreu, Deus ]o ofereceu uma só vez como sacrifício, castigando-o em vez de castigar as muitíssimas [pessoas que tinham ]pecado. Ele virá novamente [à terra], não [para se sacrificar novamente por aqueles que ]pecaram, senão para [completar ]a salvação daqueles que o aguardam esperançosamente.
Likewise, when Christ [died], [God] offered him once to be a sacrifice, to punish him instead of the many [people who had] sinned. He will come [to earth] a second time, not [in order to sacrifice himself again for those who] have sinned, but in order to [complete] his saving those who expectantly wait for him.
