Atos 15
1 Alguns cristãos [judaicos ]desceram da [província ]da Judeia até a Antioquia, [na província da Síria. Então ]eles passaram a ensinar os cristãos [gentios/não-judeus desse local. Eles diziam: ]“[Vocês devem ]—ser circuncidados/ter em seu corpo a marca de Deus {[devem deixar-nos ]—circuncidar vocês/pôr no seu corpo a marca de Deus—} [para indicar que pertencem a Deus, ]como Moisés [mandou ]nas leis [que ele recebeu de Deus. ]Se não fizerem assim, não serão salvos {[Deus ]não vai salvá-los}”.
[Then] some [Jewish] believers went down from Judea [province] to Antioch. They started teaching the [non-Jewish] believers [there, and said], “[You] ([must] be circumcised/must have God’s mark put on you) [to indicate you belong to God], as Moses [commanded] in the laws that [he received from God]. If you do not do that, you will not be saved {[God] will not save you}.”
2 Paulo e Barnabé discordaram fortemente daqueles judeus e discutiram [com eles. Por isso os cristãos da Antioquia ]nomearam Paulo e Barnabé e alguns dos outros cristãos [desse local ]para irem a Jerusalém para encontrar-se com os apóstolos e [outros ]líderes [espirituais e conversarem ]com eles sobre este assunto.
Paul and Barnabas strongly disagreed with those Jews and started arguing [with them. So the believers at Antioch] appointed Paul and Barnabas and some of the other believers to go to Jerusalem, in order that they would/could discuss this matter with the apostles and [other spiritual] leaders.
3 Depois que Paulo, Barnabé e os demais irmãos tinham recebido da congregação [na Antioquia ]tudo que lhes seria necessário para a viagem {Depois que a congregação [na Antioquia ]tinha dado a Paulo, Barnabé e os outros as coisas necessárias para sua viagem}, eles viajaram pelas [províncias da ]Fenícia e Samaria. [Em todas suas paradas naquelas províncias, ]eles relataram [aos cristãos ]que [muitos ]gentios/não-judeus tinham se tornado cristãos. Como resultado, todos os cristãos [naqueles lugares ]se regozijaram muito.
After Paul, Barnabas, and the others were given things for their trip by the congregation [at Antioch] {After the congregation [at Antioch] gave Paul, Barnabas, and the others things for their trip}, they traveled through Phoenicia and Samaria [provinces. When they stopped at different places in those provinces], they reported [to the believers] that [many] non-Jews [in Antioch] had become believers. As a result, all the believers [in those places] rejoiced greatly.
4 Quando Paulo, Barnabé e os outros chegaram a Jerusalém, foram acolhidos pelos apóstolos, os [demais ]presbíteros e os [outros membros da ]congregação [ali ]{Os apóstolos, [demais ]presbíteros e [outros membros da ]congregação [dali ]os acolheram}. Então Paulo e Barnabé relataram as coisas que Deus os tinha capacitado a fazer [entre os gentios/não- judeus.]
And when Paul, Barnabas, and the others arrived in Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the apostles, the [other] elders, and the [other members of the] congregation [there] {the apostles, the [other] elders, and the [other members of the] congregation [there] welcomed them}. Then Paul and Barnabas reported the things that God had enabled them to do [among non-Jewish people].
5 Mas alguns dos cristãos [judaicos ]que pertenciam à seita dos fariseus se levantaram [entre os demais cristãos ]e lhes disseram: “Alguém deve circuncidar os gentios/não- judeus que [já creram em Jesus ]e [nós ](incl) devemos mandar que eles obedeçam às leis [que Deus deu ]a Moisés”.
But some of the [Jewish] believers who belonged to the Pharisee sect stood up [among the other believers and] said to them, “The non-Jews [who have believed in Jesus] must be circumcised, and they must be told to obey the laws [that God gave to] Moses.”
6 Então os apóstolos e [demais ]presbíteros se reuniram para debater este assunto.
Then the apostles and [the other] elders met together in order to talk about this matter.
7 Depois de falarem sobre ele por muito tempo, Pedro se levantou e se dirigiu a eles, dizendo: “Irmãos cristãos, [todos ]vocês sabem que, há muito tempo, Deus me escolheu dentre vocês [apóstolos], [para que ]os gentios/não-judeus [também ]pudessem-me ouvir [SYN] relatar a boa mensagem [sobre o Senhor Jesus, ]para poderem ouvi-[la ]e crer [nele. Portanto, Paulo e Barnabé não são os primeiros a falar com os gentios/não-judeus sobre Jesus. ]
After they had discussed it for a long time, Peter stood up and spoke to them. He said, “Fellow believers, you [all] know that a long time ago God chose me from among you [other apostles, in order that] the non-Jewish people might [also] hear me [SYN] tell [them] the good message [about the Lord Jesus], so that they could hear [it] and believe [in him. So Paul and Barnabas are not the first ones to tell non-Jews about Jesus].
8 Deus conhece e [julga ]as pessoas de acordo com aquilo que pensam, [não segundo a identidade dos seus antepassados. ]Ao mandar o Espírito Santo para [ficar com os gentios/não-judeus], bem como [Ele tinha ]feito também para nós (incl) judeus, Deus mostrou [a mim e aos outros ]que os aceitou [como povo dele. ]
God knows [and judges] people according to what they think, [not according to who their ancestors were]. By sending the Holy Spirit to [the non-Jews], just like [he had] also done for us [(inc)] Jews, he showed [me and others] that he had accepted them [also to be his people].
9 Deus tratou/salvou a nós [judeus ]e àqueles [não-judeus ]da mesma forma, limpando-os por dentro exclusivamente como resultado de eles crerem [no Senhor Jesus. Era exatamente assim que Ele nos tinha perdoado. ]
[God] saved us [Jews] and those [non-Jews] similarly, making them clean spiritually simply as a result of their believing [in the Lord Jesus. That was exactly how he has forgiven us].
10 Pois então, —deixem/por que vocês [RHQ] de tentar/estão tentando descobrir se Deus se zangará como resultado de vocês fazerem aquilo que Ele os proibiu de fazer!? [Que vocês obrigassem os cristãos gentios/não-judeus a obedecerem nossas ]leis [judaicas, ]que Deus já esclareceu que Ele não exige que eles obedeçam [MET], [seria como ]colocar ao pescoço deles um fardo/jugo pesado! Nossos antepassados e nós (incl) [judeus ]nunca conseguimos carregar [o peso de obedecer aquelas leis].
[You are wanting to force the non-Jewish believers to obey our Jewish rituals and laws]—laws that God has shown that he does not require them to obey [MET]. [Your doing that is like] putting a heavy burden on them! So then, (stop making God angry by doing that!/why are you making God angry by doing that?) [RHQ] Our ancestors and we [(inc) Jews] have never been able to bear [the burden of obeying those laws]!
11 Mas [sabemos/cremos que não é por tentarmos obedecer aquelas leis que Deus salva a nós judeus. Pelo contrário, ]nós (incl) sabemos que é por causa daquilo que o Senhor Jesus fez em nosso favor, e que não merecemos, que somos salvos {que [Deus ]nos salva} [da culpa de nossos pecados. Deus salva a nós judeus ]da mesma forma como [Ele salva ]aqueles [gentios/não-judeus que creem no Senhor Jesus]”. [gentios/não-judeus.]
But we [(inc) know that it is not because] we [(inc) try to obey those laws that God saves us(inc) Jews. On the contrary], we [(inc)] know that it is because of what the Lord Jesus did for us [(inc)] that we did not deserve that we [(inc)] are saved {that [God] saves us} [from the guilt of our sins. God saves non-Jews who believe in the Lord Jesus] exactly like [he saves] us Jews.”
12 As muitas pessoas [ali reunidas ]se calaram [após o depoimento de Pedro. ]Então [todas ]elas escutaram Barnabé e Paulo relatarem os muitos e grandes milagres que Deus os tinha capacitado a fazer entre os gentios/não-judeus. [Esses milagres comprovavam que Deus tinha aceitado aqueles não-judeus.]
All the people [there] became silent [after Peter had spoken]. Then they [all] listened to Barnabas and Paul, [as the two of] them told about the many great miracles that God had enabled them to do among the non-Jewish people, [miracles that showed that God had accepted the non-Jews].
13 Quando Barnabé e Paulo haviam terminado de falar, Tiago, [líder do grupo de cristãos em Jerusalém, ]se dirigiu a eles, [dizendo: ]“Irmãos cristãos, escutem-me.
When Barnabas and Paul had finished speaking, James, [the leader of the group of believers there in Jerusalem], spoke to all of them. [He said], “Fellow believers, listen to me.
14 Simão [Pedro ]acaba de contar-lhes como Deus abençoou anteriormente os gentios/não-judeus. Deus assim fez, escolhendo dentre eles um povo que pertenceria a Ele [MTY].
Simon [Peter] has told you how God previously blessed the non-Jews. God did that by choosing from among them a people who would belong to him [MTY].
15 [Estas ]palavras que [Deus proferiu, ]que foram escritas [por um dos profetas {]que [um ]dos profetas escreveu} [há muito tempo], concordam com esse fato:
[These] words that [God spoke], words that were written by [one of] the prophets {that one of the prophets wrote} [long ago], agree with that:
16 Posteriormente eu voltarei e estabelecerei novamente o reino [MET] sobre o qual Davi [governou ]e que foi {que [as pessoas ]destruíram} destruído. [Esse meu procedimento será parecido com a ]reconstrução [de uma casa ]que foi {que [as pessoas ]demoliram} demolida.
Later on I will return and I will re-establish the kingdom [MET] that David [ruled] and that has been {that [people] have} destroyed. My [doing that will be like] rebuilding [a house] that has been {that [people] have} torn down.
17 Eu farei isso para que todos os demais povos possam buscar [a mim, ]o Senhor [Deus]. [Farei isso para que ]todos os gentios/não-judeus que foram chamados por mim [a quem chamei] para me [pertencerem ][MTY] possam me buscar. [Saibam que isso acontecerá, pois eu ]o Senhor [Deus, ]que faço tais coisas, já disse [essas palavras. ]
I will do that in order that all other people might seek [me], the Lord [God. I will do that in order that] all the non-Jews whom I have called [to belong] to me [MTY] might seek me. [You can be certain that this will happen because I] the Lord [God], who will do those things, have spoken [these words].
I [caused my people to know about them] long ago.” (aiōn g165)
19 [Tiago continuou: ]“Portanto resolvi [que nós ](incl) deveríamos deixar de incomodar os gentios/não-judeus que agora estão abandonando [seus pecados e voltando-se ]para Deus. [Ou seja, devemos deixar de exigir que eles obedeçam nossas leis. ]
[James continued by saying], “Therefore I have decided [that we(inc)] should stop bothering the non-Jewish people who are turning [away from their sins and turning] to God. [That is, we should stop demanding that they obey] all [our laws] and rituals.
20 Pelo contrário, devemos escrever a eles [uma carta exigindo apenas quatro coisas: Eles não devem ]comer [carne/comida ]já oferecida aos ídolos, não devem ter relações sexuais com alguém com quem não sejam casados, não devem comer [carne de animais que tenham sido ]estrangulados e não devem comer/beber o sangue [dos animais. ]
Instead, we should write [a letter] to them [requiring only four things: They should] not eat [meat/food that people] have offered to idols, they should not have sex with someone to whom they are not married, they should not [eat meat from animals that have been killed by] being strangled {[people have strangled]}, and [they should not eat] the blood [of animals].
21 Em muitas cidades, durante muitíssimo tempo, as pessoas vêm proclamando [as leis que ]Moisés [escreveu ][MTY] [e que proíbem tais práticas. ]Em cada dia de descanso dos judeus [essas leis ]são lidas {alguém lê [essas leis]} nas casas de reunião dos judeus. [Portanto, se os gentios/não- judeus desejam saber mais sobre essas leis, podem descobrir sobre elas em nossas casas de reunião”.]
In many cities, for a very long time people have been proclaiming [the laws that] Moses [wrote] [MTY], [laws prohibiting those things]. And every (Sabbath/Jewish day of rest) [those laws] are read {someone reads [those laws]} in the Jewish meeting places. [So if the non-Jews want to know more about those laws, they can find out in our meeting houses].”
22 Os apóstolos e [demais ]líderes, junto com todos os [outros ]membros da congregação, aceitaram [o que Tiago tinha dito. ]Então resolveram escolher alguns homens do seu próprio grupo e enviá-los à Antioquia, em companhia de Paulo e Barnabé, para [informar os cristãos dali daquilo que os líderes em Jerusalém tinham resolvido. Escolheram, portanto], Judas, também chamado {que eles também chamavam} Barsabás, e Silas, sendo os dois líderes dos cristãos [em Jerusalém].
The apostles and the [other] elders, along with all the [other] members of the congregation, accepted [what James had said]. Then they decided that they should choose men from among themselves and that they should send them, along with Paul and Barnabas, to Antioch, to [let the believers there know what the leaders] at Jerusalem had decided. So they chose Judas, who was also called Barsabbas, and Silas, who were leaders among the believers [at Jerusalem].
23 Então eles escreveram a seguinte carta, [que pediram que Judas e Silas levassem aos cristãos na Antioquia: ]“Nós (excl) apóstolos e [outros ]líderes, seus irmãos cristãos, —saudamos [vocês]/[estamos pensando em vocês— ao escrever isto ]a vocês cristãos gentios/não-judeus [que moram ]na Antioquia e [outros lugares nas províncias ]de Síria e Cilícia.
Then they wrote the following letter [that they asked Judas and Silas to take to the believers at Antioch]: “[We(exc)] apostles and [other] leaders who are your fellow believers [send our greetings to you as we write this to you] non-Jewish believers [who live] in Antioch and [other places in] Syria and Cilicia [provinces].
24 Várias pessoas nos avisaram de que certos homens do nosso grupo foram visitar [vocês, ]embora nós não [os tivéssemos autorizado a fazer isso. ]Eles magoaram/aborreceram vocês [SYN], [comunicando-lhes coisas ]que estão confundindo o seu pensamento.
People have told us that some men from among us went [to you], although we had not told [them to do that]. They troubled/distressed you [SYN] [by telling you things] that confused your thinking.
25 Portanto, [ao nos (excl) reunirmos aqui, ]resolvemos escolher alguns homens e pedir que eles se dirigissem a vocês, em companhia de Barnabé e Paulo, a quem nós (excl) amamos muito.
So [while we(exc) met together here], we decided to choose some men and ask them to go to you, along with Barnabas and Paul, whom we [(exc)] love very much.
26 Por causa do seu [serviço ]ao nosso Senhor [MTY] Jesus Cristo, esses dois homens expuseram suas próprias vidas ao perigo [entre pessoas que desejavam matá-los. ]
Those two have put their lives in danger because of their [serving] our Lord [MTY] Jesus Christ.
27 Nós (excl) [também escolhemos ]Judas e Silas para visitarem vocês. Eles vão comunicar-lhes as mesmas coisas que [agora lhes escrevemos. ]
We [(exc) have also chosen] Judas and Silas to go to you. They will tell you the same things [that we are writing].
28 O Espírito Santo e nós [também ]resolvemos que vocês não devem sofrer a exigência {que nós não deveríamos exigir} de obedecerem/que vocês obedecessem uma porção de pesadas leis [judaicas. ]Pelo contrário, [exigimos ]somente [que vocês obedeçam ]as seguintes instruções:
The Holy Spirit and [also] we decided that you should not be required {that we should not require you} to obey a lot of burdensome [Jewish] laws. Instead, [we] only [require you to obey] the following instructions,
29 Não devem comer [comidas que as pessoas ]já ofereceram aos ídolos, não devem comer o sangue dos animais e [não devem comer ]a carne de [animais que morreram ]estrangulados. Como também, vocês não devem ter relações sexuais com ninguém que não seja sua cônjuge. Sendo que tais práticas [ofendem sobretudo os cristãos judaicos, ]vocês estarão agindo corretamente ao evitá-las. É só isso/Passem bem.
You should not eat food that people have sacrificed to idols. You should not eat blood from animals, and you should not eat meat from animals that people have killed by strangling them. Also, you should not have sex with someone to whom you are not married. Those things [especially offend Jewish believers. So if] you avoid doing them, you will be doing what is right. That is all.”
30 Os [quatro ]homens escolhidos {que [os líderes das congregações ]tinham escolhido} saíram [de Jerusalém ]e desceram à [cidade ]de Antioquia. Reunidos todos os cristãos [ali, Judas e Silas ]lhes entregaram a carta.
The [four] men whom [they] had chosen went [from Jerusalem] to Antioch [city. When] all the believers [there] had assembled together, [Judas and Silas] gave the letter to them.
31 Após lerem a carta, os cristãos se regozijaram, [pois a mensagem ali contida ]os animava.
When the believers there read the letter, they rejoiced, [because its message] encouraged them.
32 [À semelhança de Paulo e Barnabé, que ]eram - -[profetas/homens que comunicavam mensagens de Deus—], Judas e Silas eram também profetas. Eles falaram bastante, animando os cristãos [daquele local ]e ajudando-os a crer/confiar ainda mais fortemente [no Senhor Jesus.]
[Just like Paul and Barnabas were] ([prophets/men who spoke messages from God]), Judas and Silas were also prophets. They spoke for a long time and encouraged the believers [there], and helped them to trust more strongly [in the Lord Jesus].
33 Após [Judas e Silas ]permanecerem ali durante algum tempo, [aprontando-se já para voltarem a Jerusalém], receberam os bons votos dos cristãos [da Antioquia ]{os cristãos [da Antioquia ]lhes deram os bons votos} e os cristãos [oraram para que Deus ]fosse ajudá- protegê-[los durante a viagem. Portanto, os dois homens ]iniciaram sua viagem de volta aos líderes [em Jerusalém ]que os tinham mandado [à Antioquia. ]
After [Judas and Silas] had stayed in Antioch for some time [and were ready to return to Jerusalem], the believers [there] wished them well, and the believers [prayed that God] would protect [them as they traveled. So the two men] started to go back to the leaders [in Jerusalem] who had asked them to go [to Antioch].
35 Paulo e Barnabé, porém, resolveram ficar em Antioquia. [Enquanto estavam lá, ]eles, em companhia de muitos outros, ensinavam e pregavam [ao povo ]a mensagem sobre o Senhor [Jesus.]
However, Paul and Barnabas continued to stay in Antioch. [While they were there], they, along with many others, were teaching [people] and preaching to them the message about the Lord [Jesus].
36 Algum tempo depois Paulo disse a Barnabé: “Vamos voltar agora para visitar os irmãos cristãos em todas as cidades onde [já ]proclamamos a mensagem sobre o Senhor [Jesus. Assim, ]nós descobriremos [como está ]progredindo [a fé deles no Senhor Jesus”.]
After some time Paul said to Barnabas, “Let’s go back and visit the fellow believers in every city where we [previously] proclaimed the message about the Lord [Jesus. In that way, we will know] how [well] they are continuing [to believe in the Lord Jesus].”
37 Barnabé [concordou com Paulo e acrescentou que ]gostaria de levar [consigo ]João, cujo segundo nome era Marcos, [como na primeira viagem].
Barnabas [agreed with Paul, and said that he] wanted to take John, whose other name was Mark, along with them [again].
38 Mas Paulo [respondeu a Barnabé que ele ]não considerava uma boa ideia levar [consigo ]Marcos, pois este os tinha abandonado quando estavam na [região ]de Panfília e não tinha continuado colaborando com eles.
However, Paul [told Barnabas that he] thought that it would not be good to take Mark [with them, because] Mark had deserted them when they were previously in Pamphylia [region], and had not continued to work with them.
39 Paulo e Barnabé discordaram fortemente [entre si sobre esse ponto, ]e resolveram separar-se. Barnabé levou [consigo ]Marcos. [Eles embarcaram ]num navio e se dirigiram à [ilha ]de Chipre.
Paul and Barnabas strongly disagreed [with each other about that], so they separated. Barnabas took Mark [along with him and they got] on a ship and went to Cyprus.
40 Paulo escolheu Silas, [que tinha regressado à Antioquia, como o seu companheiro]. Os cristãos [naquele local ]pediram que o Senhor [Deus ]ajudasse bondosamente [Paulo e Silas. Então ]eles dois saíram [da Antioquia. ]
Paul chose Silas, [who had returned to Antioch, to work with him]. The believers [there] asked the Lord [God] to graciously help [Paul and Silas. Then] the two of them departed [from Antioch].
41 Paulo continuava viajando [com Silas ]pelas [províncias ]de Síria e Cilícia. Naqueles lugares ele ajudava as congregações a confiar/crer fortemente [no Senhor Jesus.]
Paul continued traveling [with Silas] through Syria and Cilicia [provinces]. In those places he was helping the congregations to trust strongly [in the Lord Jesus].
