1 Timóteo 6

1 Quanto aos escravos [DOU] [cristãos, ensine-os ]a pensar no fato de ser certo honrarem seus patrões de todas as formas possíveis. Se assim fizerem, as pessoas não falarão contra Deus [MTY], e a doutrina que [nós apóstolos ]ensinamos não será criticada {elas não falarão contra aquilo [que nós apóstolos ]ensinamos}, [pois observarão que os escravos respeitam os seus patrões.]

As for slaves [DOU] [who are believers, teach them that they] should consider that it is right for them to honor their masters in every way. If they do that, people will not speak (against/evil about) God [MTY] and they will not speak (against/evil about) that which [we apostles] teach, [because they will see that the slaves are being respectful of their masters].

2 [Os escravos ]que têm patrões que creem [em Cristo ]não devem mostrar-se desrespeitosos para com os patrões por serem estes irmãos cristãos. Pelo contrário, devem servir seus patrões de uma forma superior por serem estes irmãos na fé, a quem Deus ama e que são beneficiados quando os escravos lhes prestam bom serviço. Ao ensinar estas coisas [à sua congregação], exorte [as pessoas ]a procederem desta forma.

[Slaves] who have masters who believe [in Christ] must not be disrespectful to their masters just because their masters are fellow believers. Instead, they should serve [their masters] even better because [their masters] are fellow believers whom [God] loves and who benefit when [the slaves] serve them well. As you teach these things [to your congregation], exhort/urge [people] that they do them.

3 Algumas pessoas ensinam coisas diferentes. Aquilo que elas ensinam não está de acordo com a doutrina certa que nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo [ensinou ](OU, sobre nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo). Elas não concordam com a ideia de levarmos vidas santas.

Some people teach things that are different. What they teach (does not agree with/is not like) the correct teaching that our Lord Jesus Christ [taught] (OR, that is about our Lord Jesus Christ). They do not say that we should conduct our lives (in a [godly manner/] a [manner that pleases God]).

4 Tais pessoas são muito orgulhosas e não entendem nada [HYP]. Pelo contrário, elas desejam exageradamente [argumentar sobre ]questões [insignificantes ]e sobre certas palavras. Como resultado disso, [os que as escutam têm inveja dos seus semelhantes. ]Esses indivíduos brigam [uns com os outros ]e [com outras pessoas]. Eles falam mal dos seus [semelhantes]. Desconfiam [dos outros], achando que eles têm motivos malignos.

Such people are very proud and do not understand anything [HYP]. Instead, they abnormally/wrongly desire to [argue about unimportant] matters and about certain words. As a result, [people who listen to them] (envy [others/] to have what others have). They quarrel [with others and with one another]. They say bad things about [others. They] suspect/think that [others] have evil ([motives/reasons for doing what they do]).

5 Seu modo de pensar foi corrompido {é errado} porque rejeitaram a [doutrina ]certa. Consequentemente, tais pessoas acham [erradamente ]que, pela prática da religião, ganharão muito dinheiro.

Their whole way of thinking has become completely wrong [because] they have rejected the true [doctrine/teaching]. As a result, they [mistakenly] think that (by practicing religion/by saying that they believe in God) they will gain a lot of [money].

6 Bom/De fato, realmente tiramos grande proveito de levar uma vida santa e repleta de contentamento.

[Well, we] truly do gain great [benefit] when we conduct our lives (in a [godly manner/] a [manner that pleases God]) and we are content [with what we have].

7 Já que não trouxemos nada para este mundo ao nascermos, nem podemos levar nada dele ao morrermos,

We brought nothing into the world [when we were born], and we cannot take anything out [of it when we die],

8 devemos ficar satisfeitos com a comida e a roupa básicas.

so if we have food and clothing, we should be satisfied with these.

9 Mas algumas pessoas desejam exageradamente ser ricas. Como resultado, elas fazem coisas erradas para ganhar dinheiro, e isto faz com que fiquem presas [MET], como os animais ficam presos nas armadilhas. Tais pessoas desejam muitas coisas loucamente, e tais desejos as prejudicam seriamente. E Deus vai rejeitá-las totalmente!

But some people strongly desire to be rich. As a result, they [do wrong things to get money, and this will cause them to] be caught/trapped [MET] as animals get caught in traps. They foolishly desire many things, and those desires cause them to get hurt. And God will completely reject [them]!

10 Todo tipo de coisa maligna/desastrosa acontecerá àqueles que [PRS] desejam possuir muito dinheiro. Por certas pessoas almejarem / desejarem o dinheiro, elas foram desviadas da {abandonaram a} doutrina que todos nós cremos, causando grande tristeza para si mesmas.

All kinds of bad things will happen to people who [PRS] desire to have a lot of money. Because some people longed for money, they have stopped believing the doctrine/teaching [that all of us believe] and they have caused themselves much grief/sadness.

11 Mas quanto a você, homem que serve a Deus, afaste-se totalmente de tais coisas/de tal amor pelo dinheiro. Resolva fazer o que é certo e levar uma vida devota. Decida confiar em Deus e amar [aos outros. ]Esforce-se para suportar [circunstâncias difíceis. ]Mostre-se sempre manso [com as pessoas. ]

But as for you, who are a man who [serves God], (keep completely away from such love of money/do not be like the people who love money). Decide that you will do what is right, and that you will (be godly/do what pleases God). Decide that you will trust [God], and that you will love [others]. Endure [difficult circumstances]. Always be gentle [with people].

12 Procure sinceramente e com todas as forças [MET] viver de acordo com aquilo que você crê. [Continue desempenhando bem as tarefas para ]que possa ter certeza de que viverá eternamente. Lembre-se de que você foi escolhido [por Deus ]{Deus escolheu você} [para viver com Ele, ]e que você afirmou aquilo que acredita/que confia em Deus enquanto muitos presbíteros/ouvintes escutavam as suas palavras. Try earnestly and with all your energy/strength [MET] to live in accordance with what you believe. [Continue to do your tasks well in order that] you will know for sure that you will live eternally. Remember that [God] chose you to [live with him], and that when many elders were listening you said strongly ([what you believe/that you trust in Christ]). (aiōnios g166)

13 Deus, que dá vida a todas as coisas, sabe perfeitamente tudo que você faz. Cristo Jesus também sabe tudo que você faz. Ele declarou firmemente a verdade ao ser examinado por Pôncio Pilatos.

God, who gives life to all things, knows everything that you do. Christ Jesus also knows everything that you do. He strongly declared what was true when [he was on trial before] Pontius Pilate.

14 Tendo isto em mente, mando você defender/proteger de todas as formas possíveis aquilo que Cristo nos mandou [DOU], de uma tal forma que nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo não possa criticar, até Ele aparecer/voltar.

I command you that as you keep all that in mind, in every way you (hold fast/obey) to what Christ has commanded us [DOU]. (Hold fast/obey) to those teachings in a way that our Lord Jesus Christ cannot (criticize you about/say that what you did was wrong), until he comes again.

15 Lembre-se que Deus fará isso acontecer no momento certo. Ele é magnífico/impressionante! Ele é o único Governante! Ele reina sobre todos os demais governantes!

[Remember that God] will cause Jesus to come again at the proper time. God is awesome! He is the only Ruler! He rules over all other people who rule!

16 Só Ele nunca morrerá e Ele vive no céu numa luz tão brilhante que ninguém consegue se aproximar! É Ele a quem ninguém jamais viu nem poderá ver! Meu desejo é que/ Que todos os seres humanos O honrem, e que Ele governe poderosamente [MTY] para sempre! Amém / Assim seja. (aiōnios g166)

He is the only one who will never die, [and he lives in heaven surrounded by] light [that is so bright that] no one can approach it! He is the one whom no person has ever seen and whom no person is able to see! My desire is that all people will honor him and that he [will rule] powerfully [MTY] forever! (May it be so!/Amen!) (aiōnios g166)

17 Diga aos cristãos que são ricos aqui na terra que não devem ser orgulhosos, e que não devem confiar nas suas [posses e riquezas, ]pois ninguém pode ter certeza [de possui-las por muito tempo]. Pelo contrário, ensine-os a [confiarem em Deus ao invés de confiarem ]nas riquezas. É Deus quem nos dá abundantemente tudo que temos, para que possamos desfrutar disto. (aiōn g165)

Tell [the believers] who are rich here in this present world that they should not be proud, and that they should not trust in their many [possessions], because they cannot be certain [how long they will have them]. Teach them that instead of [trusting in their wealth, they should trust] in God. He is the one who generously gives us everything we have in order that we may enjoy it. (aiōn g165)

18 Também diga- lhes que suas boas obras devem ser tão numerosas [quanto seu dinheiro. ]Especificamente, eles devem compartilhar generosamente [aquilo que eles têm ]com seus semelhantes.

Also, tell them that their good deeds must be as plentiful [as their money]. Specifically, they should share very generously with others [what they have].

19 Se assim fizerem, [Jesus vai dar-lhes um grande galardão. Será como se eles estivessem armazenando no céu ]muitos tesouros para si mesmos, que constituirão uma [boa base na qual poderão depender ]para o futuro. (Ou, que será [tão sólida como ]o alicerce [MET] [de uma casa]). Procedendo assim, eles terão a vida que é a vida verdadeira.

If they do that, [Jesus will give them a great reward. It will be as though] they are piling up [in heaven] treasure for themselves that will (be a good [basis on which they may rely] for/result in their) receiving a great reward in the future (OR, which will be [as] solid [as] the foundation [MET] [of a house]). By doing this they will experience what real life is like.

20 Timóteo, proclame/proteja fielmente a mensagem certa (OU, o ministério autêntico) [que Jesus ]lhe deu. Evite [as pessoas que desejam ]tagarelar sobre coisas sem importância para Deus. Evite as [pessoas que alegam ]possuir um ‘conhecimento’ verdadeiro mas que afirmam coisas contrárias [à nossa doutrina correta. ]

Timothy, faithfully proclaim/protect the true message (OR, do the work) that [Jesus] has given [to you]. (Avoid/Do not listen to) [people who want to] chatter about things that are not important to God. (Avoid/Do not listen to) [people who claim/say that they have] ‘true knowledge’ but who say things that oppose/contradict [our true teaching].

21 [Evite totalmente tais ensinamentos. Lembre-se de que ]algumas pessoas que alegam [possuir esse ‘conhecimento’ ]já deixaram de crer no que [todos nós ]cremos. [Desejo que/ Que Deus ]continue agindo bondosamente para com todos vocês.

([Keep completely away from/Reject completely]) [such teaching. Remember that] some people who claim [to have this ‘knowledge’] have stopped believing what [all of us] believe. ([I desire that/May]) [God continue to act] kindly toward you all.
