Salmos 21

1 Salmo de Davi para o regente: SENHOR, em tua força o rei se alegra; e como ele fica contente com tua salvação!

The king shall joy in your strength, O LORD; and in your salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!

2 Tu lhe deste o desejo de seu coração; e tu não negaste o pedido de seus lábios. (Selá)

You have given him his heart's desire, and have not withheld the request of his lips. (Selah)

3 Porque tu foste até ele com bênçãos de bens; tu puseste na cabeça dele uma coroa de ouro fino.

For you prevent him with the blessings of goodness: you set a crown of pure gold on his head.

4 Ele te pediu vida, [e] tu lhe deste; muitos dias, para todo o sempre.

He asked life of you, and you gave it him, even length of days for ever and ever.

5 Grande [é] a honra dele por tua salvação; honra e majestade tu lhe concedeste.

His glory is great in your salvation: honour and majesty have you laid upon him.

6 Porque tu o pões em bênçãos para sempre; tu fazes abundante a alegria dele com tua face.

For you have made him most blessed for ever: you have made him exceeding glad with your countenance.

7 Porque o rei confia no SENHOR; e ele nunca se abalará com a bondade do Altíssimo.

For the king trusts in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.

8 Tua mão alcançará a todos o os teus inimigos; tua mão direita encontrará aos que te odeiam.

your hand shall find out all of your enemies: your right hand shall find out those that hate you.

9 Tu os porás como que [num] forno de fogo no tempo [em que se encontrarem] em tua presença; o SENHOR em sua ira os devorará; e fogo os consumirá.

You shall make them as a fiery oven in the time of your anger: the LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.

10 Tu destruirás o fruto deles de [sobre] a terra; e [também] a semente deles dos filhos dos homens.

Their fruit shall you destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.

11 Porque eles quiseram o mal contra ti; planejaram uma cilada, [mas] não tiveram sucesso.

For they intended evil against you: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.

12 Porque tu os porás em fuga; com [tuas flechas] nas cordas tu lhes apontarás no rosto.

Therefore shall you make them turn their back, when you shall make ready your arrows upon your strings against the face of them.

13 Exalta-te, SENHOR, em tua força; cantaremos e louvaremos o teu poder.

Be you exalted, LORD, in your own strength: so will we sing and praise your power.
