Salmos 116

1 Amo o SENHOR, porque ele escuta minha voz [e] minhas súplicas.

I love Jehovah, for he hath heard my voice [and] my supplications;

2 Porque ele tem inclinado a mim seus ouvidos; por isso eu clamarei a ele em [todos] os meus dias.

For he hath inclined his ear unto me, and I will call upon him during [all] my days.

3 Cordas da morte me cercaram, e angústias do Xeol me afrontaram; encontrei opressão e aflição. (Sheol h7585)

The bands of death encompassed me, and the anguish of Sheol took hold of me; I found trouble and sorrow: (Sheol h7585)

4 Mas clamei ao nome do SENHOR, [dizendo]: Ah SENHOR, livra minha alma!

Then called I upon the name of Jehovah: I beseech thee, Jehovah, deliver my soul.

5 O SENHOR é piedoso e justo; e nosso Deus é misericordioso.

Gracious is Jehovah and righteous; and our God is merciful.

6 O SENHOR protege os simples; eu estava com graves problemas, mas ele me livrou.

Jehovah keepeth the simple: I was brought low, and he saved me.

7 Minha alma, volta ao teu descanso, pois o SENHOR tem te tratado bem.

Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for Jehovah hath dealt bountifully with thee.

8 Porque tu, [SENHOR], livraste minha alma da morte, meus olhos das lágrimas, e meu pé do tropeço.

For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, my feet from falling.

9 Andarei diante do SENHOR na terra dos viventes.

I will walk before Jehovah in the land of the living.

10 Eu cri, por isso falei; estive muito aflito.

I believed, therefore have I spoken. As for me, I was greatly afflicted.

11 Eu dizia em minha pressa: Todo homem é mentiroso.

I said in my haste, All men are liars.

12 O que pagarei ao SENHOR por todos os benefícios dele para mim?

What shall I render unto Jehovah, [for] all his benefits toward me?

13 Tomarei o copo da salvação, [e] chamarei o nome do SENHOR.

I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of Jehovah.

14 Certamente pagarei meus votos ao SENHOR, na presença de todo o seu povo.

I will perform my vows unto Jehovah, yea, before all his people.

15 Preciosa é aos olhos do SENHOR a morte de seus santos.

Precious in the sight of Jehovah is the death of his saints.

16 Ah SENHOR, verdadeiramente eu sou teu servo; sou teu servo, filho de tua serva; tu me soltaste das correntes que me prendiam.

Yea, Jehovah! for I am thy servant; I am thy servant, the son of thy handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.

17 Sacrificarei a ti sacrifício de agradecimento, e chamarei o nome do SENHOR.

I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of Jehovah.

18 Certamente pagarei meus votos ao SENHOR, na presença de todo o seu povo;

I will perform my vows unto Jehovah, yea, before all his people,

19 Nos pátios da casa do SENHOR, em meio de ti, ó Jerusalém. Aleluia!

In the courts of Jehovah's house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Hallelujah!
